Zanski looks to send missionaries

Zanski
07-01-2007, 16:17
The United Federal Kingdom of Zanski is announcing that it is looking for countries to send some Gharrakmanist (The national religion) missionaries to nations willing to take them in.
This will surely bring Economic and cultural benefits, as the Zanskese Gharrakmanists are well off and renowned merchants and spice sellers, and have many festivals (No traditional holidays) that include carnivals, and charity giving days.

They are monotheist, but not Abrahamic and do not believe in ritual killing or meat eating.

The missionaries will build turakkes (places of worship) and hospitals (open to non-gharrakmanists).

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth

The Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia condemns Zanski's religious imperialism. The spread of theism is something that Eurasia is dedicated to stopping at all costs. A unilateral embargo of Zanski shall be put in place until such time that Zanski recalls all missionaries.

Signed,

Sir Phillip Sinclair
President of Eurasia

A large majority of the population here in Ariddia is atheist, but we're always willing to learn about new cultures, beliefs and societies. Please be advised, however, that our country has a moneyless economy (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Ariddian_economy).

In a recent decree, King William Salisbury V has allowed the Gharrakmanists to settle in the Dominion, provided that each mission pays an annual mercantile levy of £300 to the crown and each Gharrakmanist is still subject to tithes enforced upon them by local churches as if they were Christians.

Joint Statement From The Skgorrian Ministry for Ecclesiastical Affairs and Foreign Ministry

We support the stance taken by the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia. Religious imperialism is something that must be opposed wherever it stands, and as such we implore the government of Zanski to recall all missionaries.
Crookfur
07-01-2007, 22:00
The Crookfur government has no particular objections to any Gharrakmanists travelling to the Kingdom or indeed seeking to settle but neither is it willing to make any special dispensations so any such individual will have to follow the usual channels and will be subject to all the usual checks and clearances.

As to the welcome any such missionary would, it should be fairly pleasant unless these missionaries display any particualrly papish tendecies. Any biulding work will be fully subject to local planning legislation including neighbour notification and objections, hospitals shouldn't be a problem as long as all medical practitioners are fully paid up members of the CMA and hold qualifications approved by the Hospitaler Board of Administration.

The Gharrakmanist law has no objection these rules. Zanski thanks you.

Gharrakmanists are not by law capitalists, and the festival of markets only mentions trading, so this is okay.

Zanski will never go by the orders of such cultureless and boring nations as Britih Londinium and Skorria- plus it is not imperial. it is optional and we respect other religions and atheism in Zanski.
Dyelli Beybi

Gharrakmanism is not listed on the Dyelli Beybian legal religions list and as such we cannot accept missionaries. However the relevant authorities may make an application to the Ministry of Religious Rights, provided they can prove that at least 50,000 adherants to the Religion exist within Dyelli Beybi.

Arthur Briggand
Ministry of Religious Rights,

Within the Bishopric of Hautavano, the following notice was nailed to the door of every church:

Let it be known that, by edict of His Grace, Diocese Bishop Teodoro Paltino, that all heathens have been expelled from Hautavano, with the particulars inciting this Holy Act being those of Indians, Aryans, or Gharrakmanists. This edict shall also take effect with the expellation of other such sacrilege beliefs, not considered heathen, but equally plagued with infidelity, such as Jewish faiths, Islam, and those churches of the Syrian Heretics. The outlaws will have until midnight on Kalendae Martius to leave the realm or otherwise be jailed.

Official Epistle to the
Government of the Federal Republic of Zanksi
and the Gharrakmanist Faith

In this great universe, beneath the Crown of the Dæmonic Emir - All praise be unto Him - there are known to be various deities, demi-gods, and Cosmic Beings from Beyond the Horizon. Yet, certain individuals and faiths refuse to lay praise to the True Architect. The Abrahamic religions announce that “Yawneh” or “Jehova” was the True Architect, the non-Abrahamic religions state - at least some - that the Cosmic Court was simply “there,” while other cults about the world state that their own created deities are the true Fathers of the Universe.

The Old Ways dictate that Those Who Dwell Outside are the Holders of the Cosmic Balance and hold supreme sway over the universe - even if they dwell beyond it in the Nuclear Chaos. Thus, as many religions of the world dictate and recite, we would like to state our distaste and abhorrence to the spreading of false religions of which no beings exist to lay praise to and for the deterring of praise from the Dæmon Sultan.

The Faith and the City-State of Midian wish to place forth a unified effort of the Servitors of the Nuclear Chaos of the Dæmon Emir, Nyalarthotep, Tulzscha, the Black Goat of the Woods, the All-in-One Yog-Sothoth, and the numerous Great Old Ones, to help dispel the false faiths of Earth by means of enlightenment and education in the Midianite Traditions and the Ways of Old.

May the Dreaded Emir have mercy upon your lost souls, yet - as the Servitors know - He and his Court will not.

Sincerely,
Alhazred
Potentate Hierophant of Midian and the Faith

"My country's government will of course, not stop these missionaries. As long as they break no laws, they will viewed legally the same way as tourists. They will probably be wasting their time, however. Callisdrun rejected the missionaries trying to make us worship some desert man named Jesus, the several waves of them (including ones who told us we should have multiple spouses, but only the men), and the ones telling us to follow another desert man, Mohammed. We have no use for their Yahweh/Allah/Jehovah. Our old gods seem much more real to us, and much less self-contradictary.

Send missionaries if you want, but don't expect much success. Callisdrunians are a people suspicious of foreign religions, and very proud of our own religious tradition. Furthermore, we would like to state that the nation of Midian has our support. Perhaps our faiths are more similar than they superficially seem. It isn't so much that they will stop the missionaries from coming, but whether they will come back, that is the question.
-Eszti Batory, High Priestess of Ithtyr"
