***New Carpentaria***
The sun was shining in the distance on this most wondrous day, between the giant gas giant and New Carpentaria's sister moon it was like a bright torch in the sky. Soon it would be covered, only to bathe the world in the ruddy purply-blue glow of New Carpentaria's jovian parent. The Proconsul was to give a speech today, heralding the success of the GAP on the planet Yorim against the Octonoids in the Charybdis Cluster. Of course the fact he was going to leave out how the battle was won, as well as the fact Commodore Helbrandt had nearly lost the entire beachhead. This didnt matter now as the Proconsul was busy with many of his Replicant-attendants, letting them fuss this way and that over him as he mused on his upcoming speech.
Things could not be going better for the Proconsul, immigration to the Prefecture was at an all time high, its population had reached a staggering two billion, making it the second state in the federation, next to only the republic in sheer resource spending power and clout. The economy was starting to take off, its main exports being starship hulls and incredibly effective medicines. The Prefecture was a rising star, soon they would overtake the others and their knight-lords in their race to become the preeminent power of Tannelorn. In this way Yanislev could rebuild the federation in his own image.
The Proconsul did not wish to be disturbed in his daydreams, so he had shut off all outside communication to his room. This was to prove an unwise decision.

Footsteps could be heard coming down the hall from the main ante chamber leading to the Proconsul's chambers. There were few guards on duty, after all it was rare that anyone could threaten the Proconsul in the sacred house of democracy itself. Had he understood the sheer fury and hatred of those that he had wronged, one man in particular, perhaps he would not have been so cocky. Nonetheless when the two replicant-girl soldiers turned to see who was running down the hall towards them. It was the last thing they ever saw. It did not pain Johannes to slay them, all that he felt over the whole affair was his Knight-sword piercing armour and flesh as he struck out with the blade. He could hear them fall heavily to the floor. He kept running forwards, towards the Proconsuls chambers.
It wasnt long before he ran past the next pair of guards, his long, black hair fluttered behind him as he ran, small spatters of blood trailing from his hair and cloak as he ran past the girls. They fell heavily to the floor, four thudds sounding their demise..he was almost there. Retribution..no justice awaited the Proconsul today. The last pair of guards managed to shout before they fell, Johannes kicked the Proconsuls chamber doors open, even the heavy locks of the Proconsuls inner sanctum couldnt do more then momentarily slow the enraged ex-cavalier.
He pushed aside the barely dressed replicant-attendants waiting in the main recieving chamber of the Proconsuls room and pushed open the door.

The Proconsul looked up to see someone push open the doors to his room. "What is the meaning of this intrusion." The Proconsul managed to start before the grim realisation of recognisation started to sink in. "Heavens light, Johannes what are you doing here." The Proconsul let out a strangled yelp as Johannes marched over to him, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck. He took the struggling politician over to the main railing of his balconey, allowing him to over look the crowd gathered in the sprawling courtyard of the sacred house of democracy.
The milling throngs were all awaiting the Proconsuls speech, soldiers were gathered around in tiny groups, all of them looking up towards him. "Johannes what are you doing!!!!" The Proconsul squeeked. "The just shall always vanquish the wicked." Johannes said without a hint of emotion. He looked around as the Proconsul started to scream. "I can bring her back! I can make her better then she was!!" he begged Johannes, he wasnt listening. He saw the perfect means to end the Proconsuls life. The crowd was starting to panic as they watched their beloved leader struggle in the grips of what appeared to be a blood mad criminal. The crowd practically screamed as one as the Knight leapt from the balconey, holding the Proconsul by the throat. No one could move, even the replicant soldiers were frozen in stark horror. This was not supposed to happen, not supposed to be able to happen, yet it was.
As if in slow motion they started to move to stop him, to rescue their Proconsul. A large High maneuver frame suddenly appeared low on the horizon, reconfiguring itself to high maneuver mode and started to float ominously over the central fountain. The replicant soldiers stopped and immediately started to call in to headquarters, asking for direction.
Johannes reached the steps leading to the fountain as the crowd parted to let him pass. They were terrified, horrified and some were even crying. The large high maneuver frame above the fountain was preventing anyone from acting. Even one miss from the weapons on a Hellebarde high mobility frame or Faust interceptor would kill hundreds of people.
The Proconsul was putting on a brave face, despite desperately pleading with his eyes to any around him to save him. "Now Proconsul, you shall know the justice that should have been meted to you on that day, you will know pain and suffering the likes of which you have inflicted on others, you shall die poorly, choking and gasping for breath, only to have death enter your lungs instead of life."Johannes punched the Proconsul hard in the stomach, wrenching his fist inside of the unarmoured politician and took hold of something. He wrenched his hand free throwing a small, shelled organ to the ground. The Proconsul begged for mercy, screaming in agony and shock. Then Johannes took hold of the Proconsul by his scalp and slammed his head in to the fountain, leaving a smear of blood as he drove his face under the water. The Proconsul struggled fiercely, his age and pancraea novum lending him great strength. Johannes was stronger, the Proconsuls struggling grew weaker, it had been five minutes since he had thrust his head under the water, the crowd was screaming, many people were fleeing for their lives.
Johannes knee'd him in the stomach, forcing him to take in great breath's of water, he smiled now, pulling a locket from his neck. "You will see the face of one dear to me, one whose life you ended in this way, in her eyes you will see the face of the child you murdered, growing inside of her..you will know justice this day for what you have wrought, there will be no mercy in heaven for you, perhaps you will find it in the hell you have made for yourself." he thrust the holographic pendant under the water, forcing the Proconsul to look as his struggling grew less and less. Johannes had lost track of time. GAP units were moving on to the scene and a commotion was sounding behind him. The Proconsul was no longer struggling but he didnt care..he would be sure the deed was done.
His XHMF-4 signalled to him the approach of the enemy with a salvo of laser fire, erupting from the heavy hard points on the units underarms. He continued to hold him under the water, it had occurred to him twenty minutes had passed. Fifteen minutes to drown the bastard, five to ensure he was dead. He took his locket and replaced it around his neck with blood soaked hands. He looked over, sure the monitors and viewing instruments could see him. "To all those who would murder, lie, cheat and steal for power let this be a lesson to you. Justice shall find you no matter where you hide, your end will be as terrible as the ends you have brought on to those you have harmed twice fold." Johannes boarded his XHMF, taking off and careening skyward before the GAP could reach him.
Johannes knew what it was he would do now, he grinned to himself, in the control seat of his craft. He would cleanse the galaxy of corruption and evil, fight the wars Tannelorn would not and punish the wicked his own people would allow life.
The just would always vanquish the wicked, and in a galaxy of wickedness, he would be its light. His laughter would have froze the heart of any who heard him. Johannes had died with his love on Enlil, now there was only this shadow of the man he once was..stalking the darkness between stars.
OOC this is a continuation of The coup thread, set one year earlier which lead up to the formation of the divine celestial federation of Tannelorn.
