(I´ve been on NS for a while but I haven´t really tried the RP stuff out all that much so I thought I´d make a new nation from the ground up and give it a shot... )
Letter from Mayor Gregory Courcy to the Nations of the World:
Due to the severe deterioration of economic and social conditions in and around the former City of Detroit, Michigan, USA, the have spoken and chosen self-determination. The area within these city limits shall hereby be regarded as the sovereign nation of the Community of The Detroit Area. It has been decided that I, in my capacity as mayor, shall function as the Head of State and Government of the City and all foreign relations matters should be directed to my office accordingly. In this new environment of self government and with the optimism of the new City-State´s population behind me, I affirm my belief that the Community of the Detroit Area will not only prosper as a self-governing nation but will also contribute significantly to the international community as a whole. In this spirit I invite the nations of the world to join us in our celebration of independence by officially recognizing and establishing diplomatic relations with the Community of the Detroit Area.
-Gregory Courcy, Mayor of the Community of the Detroit Area
