In 1940, Ezaltia was a monarchy, led by His Imperial Majesty King Alexander II. He held near-absolute power, but was a benevolent leader and Ezaltia thrived under his rule. Oil exports were (and still are) a large part of the nations economy.

The military of Ezaltia had a "quality over quantity philosophy," preferring small numbers of highly-trained troops to large swarms. The ranking system is as follows:
