Once again, Emperor Nero sat on his thrown in contemplation. Assembled before him was his court, composed of the greatest nobles and generals his nation had to offer. These men stood quietly at attention as they waited for the Emperor to speak. The Emperor's word was law, and he had a number of decisions to render.

Recent events plainly demonstrated a change in the international policital climate. A select group of imperialists were on the warpath, and seemed determined to conquer whatever nations they happened to find offensive.

The Emperor spoke:

"Given recent events and our nation's affiliations, it seems reasonable to assume our nation will come under attack sometime in the near future. Yes, there will be war.

Like those that came before them, our invaders will expect their large armies will deliver them a quick victory. That is not so. We will meet them at our beaches, and drive them back into the ocean. Should that fail, we will retreat into our jungles, and wage a guerilla war. Battles will be fought at the time and place of our choosing. Their superior numbers will be wasted. We will bleed them slowly of men and money. In time, they will grow frustrated, and flee with their tails between their legs.

That is not all.

I command a weapon be issued to every man under the age of forty. Most importantly, do all that you can to inspire the common folk to fear enemy occupation. Teach them of the horrors they will have to endure should our nation fall. Exploit the butchery in British Londinium and Nova Brittanica for all it is worth. Lie if you must. Do whatever it takes to give our people the resolve to resist these intruders with ever fiber of their being.

General Sereywath, I charge you with organizing the defense of our nation. I want every branch of our military mobilized and ready to fight as quickly as possible. When our enemies come knocking, we must be ready to answer.

Those are my desires. See to them immediately."

OOC: A quick summary of wartime preparations being made:
- Emperor Nero and his wives are moving to a secure underground location.
- All reserves are being called to active duty.
- CAPTOR naval mines are being deployed in strategic locations.
- Small arms are being issued to the populace.
- A massive propaganda campaign is being launched emphasizing alleged war crimes committed against British Londinium and Nova Brittanica.
- The Women's Civil Defense Force (where my nation's women fulfill their mandatory military service) are manning the nations AA and coastal defense batteries around the clock.
- Ground units are moving towards coastal cities, where they will entrench and setup their fortifications.
- Active sonar buoys are being deployed in addition to the usual passive systems.
- Aircraft are being scattered among any air force base or airport capable of handling them. VTOL's are being scattered and hidden all over.
- 1/2 of the navy is assembling south of Bac Lieu. The other 1/2 is assembling east of Dong Hoi.
- Ammunition stores are being scattered.
- AWACS with F-22 escorts are patrolling the waters surrounding my nation looking for approaching fleets.
- Mobile ICBM launchers are being deployed to rural areas, where they will be concealed (and move regularly).
- SSCMM systems (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11973099&postcount=28) are blinding any surveillance satellites passing over the Empire.

OOC:I hope you realize that RADAR alone cannot tell if a satellite is hostile, allied, or neutral, and that by blinding every satellite that passes over you have probably blinded some satellites by nations that would be mighty pissed at you for that. Also, you're preventing your own satellites from watching your nation, if you have any, as well as your allies.

The Clandonian intel officer noted as the last reports came in, shit the satellites were being blinded now he thought... They knew the Neronians knew their time was up they would be the target of a Clandonian invasion force. In the regular breathing it estimated that Clandonian forces would control the country quickly but they would face terrorist and insurgent forces that would need to be met with incredile firepower that some in the international community could possibly see as inhumane.

'As regards to the location of the Emperor himself we have lost his position, before our satellites we tracked him down and we had prepared to launch an orbital strike on him.'

'What would be our estimated casulties?'

'Proberly around 10,000 dead Clandonian dead, the colateral damage to the civillians would be in the hundreads of thousands, in the high hundreads of thousands for their military.'

'It could be a costly war, I do think we could pull it off we could try offering them surrender and for them to leave EVIL if not we would begin widespread attacks and try and sink their small navy with air launched ASM's. This would making landing easier, then a widespread bombing campaign would begin which would result in high colateral damage most likely.'

'With regards to their WMD systems, they would proberly try and use them but after the destruction of Nova Brittanica and the fact the Clandonian ABM and nuclear arsenal is superior to theirs then it would be idiotic. But you never do know so I have the President authorise the use of regional theatre based tactical nuclear weaponry if the situation calls for it.'

'This meeting is now over, we shall begin combat operations once plans in Whyatica have been finalised and when the Coalition leads the attacks against the other EVIL members. In the meantime prepare our forces for war and begin our naval prepartions, I will be deploying at least four Army groups combined with a Marine group so our forces will be high.'

And as that the meeting was over, just another day in the well oiled machine that was the well used Clandonian military.

[OOC: Technically, satellites don't have to go over your nation to get pictures, they are so high that they can see your nation from thousands of kilometers away [IE: SR-71s were able to take pictures of things a hundred or so miles to their side, to avoid having to fly directly over heavily defended bases, and a satellite above northern africa in LEO can see the UK and in HEO can probably take shots of northern scandinavia and iceland.]

OOC: I don't feel the need to debate the merits of proven real life technology. It has been done before, and I can and am doing it now.

Everything you guys have said is easily addressed by using a bit of common sense or by assuming I am not behaving in the stupidest way possible (like targeting my own satellites or satellites that aren't even pointed at me).

There were no American RORSATs. RORSAT was the name given to the Soviet satellite which was launched under "Cosmos".

Yes. It is a beautiful thing. Put quite simply, this government combines all of the main elements of fascism (anti-communist, extremely conservative, very centralized, mostly authoritarian, anti-liberal, pro small buisiness, extreme nationalism) but has a few "changes". It also has a "sort of" elected Prime Minister, accepts people's opinions and allows representation in government (hence the "republic"), it is incredibly anti-nazi, highly religous, super capitalist, and uses the military to solve almost all it's foreign problems, but not neccessarily squash any un-fascist supporters.

Perhaps, but true republics allow some form of representation. Saddam may have claimed he was running a "republic" like government, but in reality it was nothing more than a supreme absolute militaristic dictatorship.

It is a pleasure to hear from you once again. As you have noticed, the Empire is indeed increasing our military readiness. Our government is nominally associated with the EVIL Alliance Bloc. For that reason, we expect an attack on our nation is imminent.

The size and strength of the Imperial armed forces have improved dramatically since our last encounter with Wanderjar and Icovir. Our fighting men and women are better armed, more experienced, and exist in greater numbers than ever before. The Emperor is confident in our ability to mount a stout defense.

However, discretion is the better part of valor. If the Pudite Empire is willing to assist us, the Empire would be glad to accept. At this time, naval and air power would be most desirable, but the Empire would be happy to receive whatever you are willing to offer.

You might be able to hit me with a couple hundred long range bombers every now and then, but I don't think it is feasible for thousands of your bombers plus thousands more short range fighters to travel across the world to attack me, then fly home. I only mention this having read what you wanted to do.

In response to the seemingly approaching war, the UES is deploying it's 3rd Tactical Carrier Strike Group, containing two supercarriers, 10 modern battleships, several missile frigates and many other light ships. The Battlegroup will arrive within a few days, and serve as the offshore defence for Emperor Nero. All other land troops and air troops will be ready to leave at a moment's notice, and awaiting orders in UES military airports and other seaports. We will fight the enemy on the shores of the Neroian Peninsula, as well as the jungles and forests, and even into the highest reaches of the inland, and continue to do so as long as their is one Neroian, willing to fight for a united and independant land.

OOC: Actually I'm thinking now not to invade you due to the fact that you wern't in EVIL. If you make a diplomatic communication to my nation condeming them, I still have ties to the CA members and I don't really want to get involved there, and the fact that there is a bigger threat with Kroando in the North if the Nova Europans get ready for war.

OOC: Actually, Nova Europa's been pretty quiet lately.

Little word had been heard from the Griffincrest Corporation for a few years now, but it was still around, still lurking, still looking to make the world free for its friends and allies to do what they wished. It was now that some of these friends had fallen under attack that the griffin began to stir. A moderate sized force was sent to provide a stop gap means of defense until further help could arrive. With these men would also be equipment, with which the Neroian military would be trained in how to use.

A force of almost a thousand military advisors gathered in the ports in far flung provinces of the Griffincrest corporate empire. With them, weapons of every size and sort were piled into crates, each marked with the stamp SHIP TO EMPEROR NERO in bold red. These men had all seen combat before, several of them even having served as advisors to Clandonia Prime before that nation capitulated under the horde of foes placed before it.

In these crated which were getting hauled onto the massive transport ship were every sort of military equipment that could be thought of. Hundreds of Folland Gnats and dismantled F-4 Phantom II's rested unmanned in the wooden boxes they were placed in. Almost five hundred Mercury APC's and an equal number of Mars Light Battle Tanks sat in similar cases, waiting for their new masters to release them. Little word had been heard from the Griffincrest Corporation for a few years now, but it was still around, still lurking, still looking to make the world free for its friends and allies to do what they wished. It was now that some of these friends had fallen under attack that the griffin began to stir. A moderate sized force was sent to provide a stop gap means of defense until further help could arrive. With these men would also be equipment, with which the Neroian military would be trained in how to use.

A force of almost a thousand military advisors gathered in the ports in far flung provinces of the Griffincrest corporate empire. With them, weapons of every size and sort were piled into crates, each marked with the stamp SHIP TO EMPEROR NERO in bold red. These men had all seen combat before, several of them even having served as advisors to Clandonia Prime before that nation capitulated under the horde of foes placed before it.

In these crated which were getting hauled onto the massive transport ship were every sort of military equipment that could be thought of. Hundreds of Folland Gnats and dismantled F-4 Phantom II's rested unmanned in the wooden boxes they were placed in. Almost five hundred Mercury APC's and an equal number of Mars Light Battle Tanks sat in similar cases, waiting for their new masters to release them. In response to the seemingly approaching war, the UES is deploying it's 3rd Tactical Carrier Strike Group, containing two supercarriers, 10 modern battleships, several missile frigates and many other light ships. The Battlegroup will arrive within a few days, and serve as the offshore defence for Emperor Nero. All other land troops and air troops will be ready to leave at a moment's notice, and awaiting orders in UES military airports and other seaports. We will fight the enemy on the shores of the Neroian Peninsula, as well as the jungles and forests, and even into the highest reaches of the inland, and continue to do so as long as their is one Neroian, willing to fight for a united and independant land.

For the time being, the threat against our nation seems to be abating. Nevertheless, numerous ports and airfields have been made ready to receive you should hostilities commence.

Should this crisis come to pass, the Emperor feels it would be a shame if we did not take advantage of our troop mobilization. Perhaps you would be interested in participating in more profitable offensive actions against one of our neighbors? Think about it, and let us know.

OOC: Actually I'm thinking now not to invade you due to the fact that you wern't in EVIL. If you make a diplomatic communication to my nation condeming them, I still have ties to the CA members and I don't really want to get involved there, and the fact that there is a bigger threat with Kroando in the North if the Nova Europans get ready for war.

OOC: I'm on the defensive, so the ball is in your court. You and your allies are free to attack or not. If you could let me know one way or another, I would appreciate it. I'm feeling a bit scrappy, so I will probably be looking to get into something else if this doesn't pan out.
