The colors of the Dominion. The dragons represent the Warrior Saints, the Sign of the Aquila represents the Immortal Emperor's blessing upon the people of Hailung, and the characters read, according to the keepers of the colors, "The Emperor Protects."

Home System--

Hailung System (duh)

Capital--

Repulse Bay, Hailung V. A sizable city of some 20 million, host to the Officio Administratum offices on the planet, along with the local Inquistion HQ and the Intramuros Complex, home to the Governor's House and most major government facilties.

Geography/Culture--

Culture itself is much like most Imperial worlds--full of reverence for the Immortal Emperor, and hatred for the mutant, the alien and the heretic. However, like most Imperial Worlds, it has a few peculiarities that cause it to stand out.

Hailung V itself is a waterworld, with much of the habitable landmasses not much bigger than the island of Japan. Thus, much of the populace lives on either reclaimed polders or artificial islands, built from scratch out of mechanical frameworks. Groups of techpriests from the Adeptus Mechanicus work to maintain these floating habs, of which 16 exist. Of course, if you saw them, you might think you took a trip to an odd mashup of New England and Hong Kong, albeit with Imperial touches, like the statues to the Emperor and the Adeptus Arbites patrolling the highways.

Traditionally, most of the people are fishermen, or otherwise work in industries that involve the water. As a result, most of the lower classes have a reputation for being hardy, if somewhat interbred a bit much, fisherfolk, eager to swear, pick up heavy nets full of fish, and eat the local specialties, such as bolos levedos, BBQ pork buns, and fish n' chips. (OOC: Bolos levedos are an actual food you can find in New England. They're also called Portuguese Muffins.) Grand Marshal Dos Santos was from these classes, but found favor with the regiment's commanders as her bravery in battle with Eldar proved great, and her ability to inspire men just as great. But moving on.

And though most of the middle and upper classes are highly industrialized and well-off, they still embrace the nautical part of their history, which shows in the local Guard uniform of a camofluage pattern that is very oceanic in pattern.

Hailung II, III and IV, the three other habitated worlds, are much more friendly to "landlubbers" as Hailungers call those not used to the salt air and sea spray of Hailung V.

II is a rural agroworld, home to farms that evoke Norman Rockwellish memories. It is somewhat populated, but not very, with a temperate climate.

III is where the Legio Johnson are based. The planet itself is actually kinda desolate, with a craggy Mars-like complexion. It's just used by the Chapter to train new initiates and test fire new equipment.

IV is home to several large hive cities, being not very habitable otherwise, where the Adeptus Arbites and the Inquistion battle Chaos and Genestealer Cults, and deal with the myriad gangs that populate the underclass. It is also where the rougher elements of the Guard units in Hailung come from, and they hold a certain disdain for the "waterlogged" people of Hailung V, seeing them as sort of a "group of big kids playing with their damn ships," to quote one.

Religion--

99.9% Imperial Cult. Pure and simple. This level is maintained by the Inquisition, though on one of the outer planets a Chaos cult has reportedly emerged, under the command of one Kimiko Ayasugi. Notable Imperial saints of the Hailung system are St. Ayanami and St. Chaing, who were the legendary Warrior Saints that the colonization of the Hailung system sometime ago.

Military--

Hailung itself is home to a sizable Imperial Guard force, commanded by the Lady Imperiatrix as one of her responsibilities as commander of the Dominion. However, she has tended to delegate command responsibilities to Grand Marshal Jeanne Dos Santos, a stalwart veteran of operations against Eldar and Ork Raiders. Notable Regiments are the Hailung Steel Dragons, the Hailung Famous Flames, a Grenadier regiment, and Kurosawa's Own, a bodyguard regiment that is owned, operated, and draws its officers from the Kurosawa Clan, which the Lady Imperiatrix is from.

It also hosts the Legio Johnson--see below.

In addition, an Imperial Navy force exists under command of Fleet Admiral Gunther von Stalhelm. Known as Battlefleet Hailung, it is composed of, at present, 75 Cruisers of the Lunar, and Gothic
classes, plus 450 Escort Ships and 10 Battleships, five Emperor and five Retribution class vessels. Flagship is the St. Ayanami's Vengance

Von Stalhelm also commands a considerable Fleet Defense Arm which has many orbital defense platforms, and other such implements.

Leadership/Government--

The Dominion is run locally by Lady Imperatrix Funaho Murasaki, chosen by the Council of Twenty, an organization made up the most important persons in the Hailung System. When Lady Imperatrix Murasaki dies, a member of the Council will be acclaimed as the new Lord Imperator/Lady Imperatrix in the Name of the Immortal Emperor, to rule over the Hailung System.

Cult of the Second Child (Chaos Cult)--

"Long ago, our great Lady Kimiko Ayasugi, Prophet of the Second Child, left the confines of Terra along with a group of trusted advisors. The people of Terra rejected the Truth She told, and She was forced to flee by the false prophets therein.

When she landed on the Promised Planet, Her Ship, the Progenitor Vessel, crashed, bringing many of Her crew to neardeath.

Then, the Second Child spoke to Her. It turned out she was but part of four aspects of the Warp, who would save Her retinue in exchange for continued service to the Child on their behalf. She thanked the Child, and thus, her men were given the gifts of the four Aspects.

From Khorne and Nurgle, the powers to become masters of their world through force and pestilence wrought upon all who opposed them.

From Slaanesh, the powers to truly become happy through the Second, and experience real pleasure.

From Tzeentch, the power to know what was to come, and to hear future Truths of the Second Child, who is the Truth...

...Thus, Kimiko Ayasugi came to Commune with the Four Aspects, known to others as the Gods of Chaos, to promote the way of the True Empress, the Second Child."

--The Great Tome of the Second Child. Recovered from a Damaged Copy found on Hailung IV.

Located on Hailung VI and VII, mostly desolate mining worlds, the Cult of the Second Child is a cult which traces its origins to Terra. Like most Chaos forces, it rejects the Immortal Emperor and instead favors worship of the Gods of Chaos, thus making it a worthy target for the Inquisition and the Legio Johnson.

The leader of the Cult is Kimiko Ayasugi. According to intelligence by the Ordo Malleus and the Inquistion, it is estimated she may be hundreds, if not thousands of years old, preserved by unholy forces. Indeed, some members of the Inquistion doubt if she even still lives, and purport the real head of the Cult to be Alastair LaRouche, a Chaos agent who claims to have served with the Blood Pact against Gaunt's Ghosts. However, disputes notwithstanding it is understood the cult is a threat, using guerilla raids to assault Imperial Property on Hailung VI and VII. In addition, agents of the Cult have been killed in raids on Hailung IV, where pitched battles with cultists and even purportedly, Warp Horrors have been reported.

There is reason to believe that this cult may be a relic of the Dark Age of Technology, or perhaps earlier. Inquistor teams came upon an object they had been using to motivate followers as an Unholy Relic. Analysis by the Techpriests indicates materials and technology that are antiquated, suggesting DAT-era or even before that....

Legio Johnson

Founded during the Cursed 21st Founding from the gene-seed cocktail that made the Lamenters, slightly refined with Dark Angels material, the Chapter is based on the planet of Hailung III, which it calls "Terra Sacria."

As it was produced with this cocktail, it has no Primarch per se. However, it has a famous first Chapter-Master, Chapter-Master "Patches" Ezekiel Johnson. He is significant for rallying the chapter during the Trials of Guteflora, where the force battled an Ork Waagh! for six months before succumbing to battle wounds. His rallying cry, "If you can dodge a Wrench, you can Dodge a Ball...for the Emperor!" the significance of which is known only to the regiment, is their rallying cry.

This is especially significant, as the regiment, while it does not have the legendary bad luck of their ancestors, does have a curse of mediocrity that ensures it only stays "merely okay" at best in terms of combat abilities, save for an amazing ability to avoid getting hit. It also manifests itself in eccentricties that appear among the population; Scouts for example, tend to act and speak like Rogue Traders.

It commands a battle barge, the Imperious Johnson. Chapter lore, according to a joke, says "Who would honestly believe a Chapter where all the Brothers, the Chaplain, and the Chapter-Master are all surnamed Johnson?!"

This is speculated to be caused by the recessive Dark Angels part of their gene-seed, which does descend from the famous Lion'El Jonson, the similarity in names being proposed as the proof for this theory. Whatever the case, all the Brothers, Chaplains and the Master are indeed granted the last name of "Johnson" in a ceremony that involves the man being punched to the tune of "What's the capital of Thailand....BANGKOK!" symbolic of the last insult they can ever take without avenging their honor.

The Dodgeball fascination also extends to their recruitment methods; every year, the "Trials of Johnson" are held--in essence, a massive dodgeball tournament where the winners, drawn from youth contestants, become new initiates into the Legio Johnson.

The group follows Index Astartes organization, and is led by Chapter-Master Peter Johnson, who looks suspiciously like Vince Vaughn and has a surprisingly laid back manner for a Space Marine--though he can get serious when necessary.
