Operation Blue Slug (ATTN: Kroando and co)

Alexandria Naval Base, Spizani Inland Sea

The shore personel ran from line to line, tossing off thousands as the massive fourteen million tonne warship cast off and prepared to sail, she was the mightiest ship in the Confederate fleet, the Ironside. Her massive batteries of heavy artillery and missiles gave her enough firepower to lay waste to entire fleets by herself. She was normally based, laired in the opinion of many of the crew, as Firendshaven, but after that base had been damaged by a massive storm, she had been moved from her secure fjord to Alexandria, where she had taken on a full load of munitions, the first time this had occured since her latest rebuilding, and taken on a full airwing of Strike Phoenixes and Lu-45 Hawk Air Superiority Fighters, she was now ready to assume command of taskforce 1 and take it out on its first mission in years.
The Missions codename had been chosen randomly by a computer in the basement of the naval headquarters three miles away, it had chosen two words randomly from a list of over a million suitable names, and had then checked against a list of previously selected names to make sure the same one was not selected twice. It was meerly a coincidence that the name had turned out so ridiculous.
Accompanying the Ironside to sea as part of taskforce one was the Superdreadnoughts Milliard and Avenger, both Milliard-class Flight Ones upgraded to flight two standard. The Battleships Elusive, Revenge, Trieste and Norwich. The Battlecruisers Atlantis and Troy along with several dozen other warships, from heavy cruisers down to frigates and logistical support vessels. Also sailing with the Ironside, although not part of taskforce one was the ships of support force 38, based around the LPHs Ocean, Pacifica and Republic and eighty other landing ships and support craft. Carrier support consisted of the Ironside's air wing and of Lu-25 Black Mariah VTOL Aircraft based on the LPHs. The force was carrying an entire army to war, some eight divisions including organic rotary and artillery support units. She was a force to be reckoned with.
The ships lines were all cast off, and the ships collosal propellors began to turn, accelerating her up to the three knots required for her nuclear linear expansion drives, otherwise known as water-ramjets, to produce net thrust, speeding her acceleration as the collosal ship made a suprising sharp turn to orient her towards the gap in the harbour wall, nearly 10km from the bow, and nearly 12km from the sterm. She was one of the largest warships in the world. And entire armies had been known to surrender upon seeing her collosal superstructure on the horizon, even before her massive batteries of 81cm and 50.8cm naval artillery peices rained death and destruction down on there posistions.
The ship quickly accelerated to twenty knots, raising a collosal bow wave that caused fifteen degree roles to occur on battleships that were manuevring into her stern for the passage through the entrance, the frigates and destroyers were already outside, helping the harbour guard force of patrol craft and diesel subs clear the passage of any possible mines or submarines that were lurking in wait to nail the ship at her most vulnerable. She was clear of the harbour and in the middle of her formation, as the ships rushed into the correct posistions, within an hour of completing the cast off maneuvre. The collosal attack force was on its way, to its destiny, and more importantly the destiny of the nation of Kroando, and by extension the entire E.V.I.L alliance block.

North of Kroando. Pure Ice for over 200 hundred miles. Ice that go's down dozens of meters (10-50)... not suiteable for naval entry.
Baltic Coast. Navy Stationed There, backed by the 'Baltic Wall'.
East of Kroando. Vast Waste/Eastern Invasion
[If you dont mind, please keep the invasion reasonable, I am now fighting off a massive invasion from the East, literally involving my entire military. Other than that, im not sure exactly what to do, I would not know of the naval movement until it was a few hundred miles away from Nova Europa, and there was no decleration of war... so...]

"No, there's no need at the moment. What we could do is… we're downsizing our Navy, right? That means we won't be needing most of the ships, will we?"

"This is correct, Mr. President."

"Good. Sign an executive order – I'm ordering a cut in the size of the Third Haven Domination fleet. I want you to transfer twenty Paramount class Air Defense vessels and thirty Virginia guided missile cruisers to the Spizanians. Tell their navy to send personnel to Roanoke Island to retrieve the craft."

"Yes, Mr. President."

OOC: What happens to your territory once it goes off the map? does it go all the way to where the russian pacific coast would be IRL?

At edge of Icepack off Northern Kroando
The Fleet approached the icepack at about eight knots, they had slowed from cruise speed on sighting it a few hours earlier, a white line reaching to the horizon in both directions, it had grown and grown, until they had reached easy sight of it, a massive white wall, extending several metres into the air. Sonar gave a fuller picture, showing a solid wall of ice extending dozens of metres down into the depths, it was as solid an obstacle as a collosal minefield or batteries of heavy naval artillery, even the mighty Ironside couldnt penetrate the billions of tonnes of ice that blocked the way.
But the totally solidity of the ice would be Kroando's undoing, it was thick enough to support vehicles, and the CAP reported it was relatively flat, flat enough to drive across. So the taskforce could not get to the shore of the enemies nation, but they could atleast put there troops onto the pack and support a beachead as the army and marines worked there way across the pack, building a temporary road to carry all the neccesities of war several hundred miles to the coast of the enemy.
The Taskforce set to work, Chinook Helicopters lifted from the decks of the Ocean, Pacifica and Republic, landing companies of infantry on the pack, to begin scouting out the surface for the possible site of the encampment, about five kilometres from the edge of the pack, it might not be calving season, but they could afford to risk a peice of icepack breaking off and carrying half the base away with it.
Next came the LCACs, carrying the lead regiments of the 3rd and 4th Dragoon Guards Divisions ashore, but the wall of the icepack was nearly vertical and several metres high, easily blocking the passage of the hovercraft. Or at least it was, until Ironside turned twenty of her twin 5" Quick Firing DP mounts on the pack, within minutes a section of the white wall fifty metres wide had been reduced to a comparatively gentle ramp, sloping at about twenty degrees, steep yes, but shallow enough for the LCACs to power onto the top of the icepack.
After the first few journies, and an hour or so into the op, the engineers came ashore aboard the LCACs, setting up prefabricated shelters and command structures, and setting up the mobile Praetorian SAM launchers in embrasures cut into the ice with steam hoses, powered by heaters that drew electricity from a thick copper cable, with attached floats, that had been strung between the port side of the Elusive and the shore, allowing the energy of the ships powerful nuclear reactors to power the station until portable generators were set up.
Within six hours eight regiments were ashore, and a dozen more were in the process of being shipped in, the base was nearly finished, with only vast numbers of habitation shelters and field kitchens needing to be set up, but those would take time, and there was no rush, they would only be required by the infantry that had yet to be disembarqued.
T110 Velites from the 3rd Dragoons were already pushing deeper into the pack, scouting out any blemishes that might impeed the flow of traffic, as more engineers, hundreds of them were ashore, started laying out heavy hemp-based matts to form a road that would stretch for hundreds of miles, straight as a die towards the enemy coast.

Alexandria Naval Base
Support Groups 39, 40 and 41 were setting sail, carrying 24 more divisions, mostly mechanised infantry or dragoons, but with two divisions from the Para-armoured corps in support, instead of dropping out of the sky in there ZMI-designed drop cages, they would be puta shore and drive across the ice to fight the enemy, the Cavalry was not willing to risk its T108A4 Super Pompeiis on the ice sheet, even if it was incredibly thick, so the lighter Nakils were being sent instead, giving the army in the north, as it had become known, armoured support it had desired from the beginning of the operation.
This reinforcing fleet was being guarded by a screen of destroyers and cruisers, with one carrier, the Invincible providing air cover, they could not afford to loose the convoy, this one had to get through, no matter what the cost

[The nation extends out to the Ural Mountains, then turns into the 'Vast Waste', which if you want, can be read about in my fact book. However this area of Russia is actually twice the size of RL Russia, the entire thing. Ergo, big enough for my population.]

Northern Kroando

Well it became quite clear what it was the enemy was trying long before they undertook their task, it was something none in Kroando though possible. The enemy was launching an assault across the northern ice sheet. Some fourty-sixty meters thick, it extended north for several hundred kilometers... technically, it was more than possible to launch an assault against it. The vast majority of the army was positioned along the Baltic Line, very few divisions being located in the north, certainly not enough to stop an sizeable invasionary force. The vast majority of the navy was also in the Baltic... as the north was simply... ice.

However the key word was, majority. The Coalitionists knew that there always was the possibility that the enemy may try to land in the north... they may be daring and want to play tricks, so they set precautions. Along the north, there were at any one time, fourty submarines under the northern ice sheet, spread out along the outer ridge (which constantly changes based on the season)... fourty submarines packed with torpedo's, missiles and all other sorts of explosives.

And yes, the Coalitionists also had eyes in the air. Although the majority of the army was concentrated on the Ural Line, fighting the massive Eastern Invasion, the satellites were worthless there, as they simply could not see the ground, nor provide RADAR cover, or even infared... thus, the satellites preformed their normal duties... and low and behold, they found the Spizanian Fleet moving in. Before long all of those orbital eyes were fixed on these invaders, chalking down their coordinates every inch of the way. But no attack. Though Kroando could have unloaded deadly missile waves, they had a fate far more cruel for the enemy... far more cruel.

The submarines sat and waited in complete silence, no engines, no movement, no sound, as the Spizanians unloaded hundreds of meters up above, atop the ice and fridgid waters. They recieved transmitted orders via satellite transmission (and various communication bouys in the water), but said nothing. They did nothing that could possibly telegraph their positions, their existence in general. They just waited, until reportedly, the Spizanians had finished 'unpacking' for their visit. And once they had finished, it all began. Of the fourty submarines, only twelve were within range to be of any assistance, but that was more than enough. Twelve Macabee made Tenerife SSBN's began the attack, firing in complete unanimity, not at the ships of the fleet, which more than likely were prepared to defend from torpedos... but at the troops above. At the troops sitting atop that massive ice block. At the very 'ground' they rested upon. They fired at the base of the glacial sheet with every intention of shattering it, and sending all of those Spizanians into the frigid depths. The Tenerife's unloaded anything and everything, starting with the Anti-Shipping Missiles in their VTOL tubes. These missiles were designed to penetrate first, explode second... perfect for the task of 'breaking the ice'. The missiles would cut into the frozen water about four meters, before detonating their deadly pay loads, blasting the ice to shards. Each submarine fired over four of these in the first twenty seconds of the assault, sending fifty three of these missiles into a pre-determined range of targets. They shot not only at the landing area, and the base, but the entire sector, to prevent the enemy from simply, 'Running Somewhere Else'. The ice should have broken, but no risks were taken. Torpedos filled the water, thirty six slamming into the ice sheet in an attempt to break it apart, using their highly explosive warheads, meant to sink battleships, to break apart the already weakened ice. Of course this attack happened only seconds later, so there was little chance at any evacuation. (If you dont think that would break the ice, I could have fired far far more... so assume I did if you're sceptical.)

This region of Kroando was, at it's warmest, about 2F degrees... on average, -25. That was on the surface, the snowy surface. The water was easily twenty five to thirty below zero, the only thing keeping it from freezing solid being the high salt content. As it was likely snowing up above, as it always does in the northern half of Kroando, Coalitionist Commanders could only imagine what it was the enemy was about to go through. Assuming that you weren't lucky enough to be killed by flying ice, or an explosion, you were now submerged in water that by all laws of nature, should have been ice. You couldn't breath... swimming immpossible, moving equally insane. And there were capsizing ice chunks which were capsizing every which way... this was not even including the vast amount of Spizanian Equipment that would be cluttering the water. It would take minutes at the most to freeze a man to death... assuming he was in a wet suite, and not strapped down with equipment, ammunition, guns, body armor and supplies. Survival was not... likely.

On 'Land'

The Coalitionists however left nothing to nature, they hated nature. The third Coalitionist Mechanized Assault Force was one of the few forces in the area, and they were immidiately deployed along the coast, looking out at the vast spanse of ice sheet before them. With only some 45,000 Infantry Mechanized in snow-grade Stryker CV-90's, with 120 C-37 Mountain Breakers and fewer than 150 Kraken II's, they were not the 'A Team' by any stretch of the imagination... but then again, they weren't expected to fight.

As the submerged assault commenced, the Murmansk Missile Battery sent a welcoming gift to the invaders, specifically it's large naval ships. 120 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles from several sites... not meant so much to destroy or even damage the enemy ships... but to hamper the rescue effort. They wanted the Spizanians returning in ice cubes, not coffins.

To the north the Artic Ocean is in a state of permanant glaciality. For over 110 kilometers north of the land boundry ice stretched out, over thirty kilometers deep, no ship could traverse it.
at 30km deep, you ain't about to poke a hole in that ice (regardless of the fact that the ocean ain't 30km deep at the deepest) Ain't no way, not without nukes. And if you're going that way, you can't use subs due to the pressure problems of being 30km deep, and the intense overpressure created by setting one off under the ice.

Also, if you look at the map you provided, you don't hold Murmansk.

[Wow... that is... wierd. I have no idea why I even posted a 30km deep block of ice, I most definitely never meant to, and have been RP'ing for... two years as if it were less than 100 meters thick. It is physically impossible, I would have reached the mantle of the earth... I dont know why I posted a 30km thick block of ice, I most likely meant meters, but for some reason or another, posted kilometers. Again, I am sorry, that is not possible, my mistake, I dont know why it says 30km.

However if you look at my first post in this thread, I did state that it was 'dozens of meters thick', and I do believe that we had been RP'ing under that assumption. Actually, Spizania also posted that he understood it was 'dozens of meters deep' in his second post... so I believe we were both quite clear on the fact that is was less than a 100 meters thick. Under the 'dozens of meters' that we were both RP'ing under, my destruction of the ice and sub positions are possible. I will change my factbook, thank you for pointing that out. Spizania, if you wish to redo the entire invasion, which I dont think is necessary as we both were operating under the 'dozens of meters' policy, you can TG me.

As to Murmansk - My section of Russia is rather... devoid of cities, so I made more up. I always liked the name, and made up a new one along my northern coast. For instance, there is no 'Vladivostok' in my section of RL Russia, yet there are four in my nation.]

Base Camp

The Ground, ice rather, started shaking rather ominously and low grows sounded, interspersed with sharp cracks as the enemy weapnos starting eating into the bottom of the icepack.
The emergeancy drill alarm sounded and everyone dropped what they were doing and ran for the nearest, LCAC, Helicopter, or T111 Velite Light Armoured Vehicle, all of these vehicles had a feature in common, they could survive a catastrophic collapse of the pack, the Helocopters could simply take off and fly to a safe area, while the LCACs and T111s could move on water, they were full amphibious and self righting, the military hadnt been blind to this danger, and had already drilled for this very occurence.
As the icepack began to calve on mass, the last men and women were strapping into the emergeancy seats in there designated vehicles and began the wildest ride of there lives, in the case of the helos they stepped off onto the pack that was still stable, the LCACs and T111s however ended up in the water, there crews messaging bumped heads from the too-low roofs of the vehicles.
Unfortunately practically everything else that made up the base was gone, prefab shelters, field kitchens, support elements of other kinds, artillery peices, trucks, light vehicles that werent amphibious. All these would be flown in from the reserve supply that was available from Clandonia, who was offering support to any nation that would assist in assuring the demise of evil.
The vehicles started piling up an ice ramp that had been left when the sheet had cracked apart, and were soon back onto the pack, joining the three lead regiments that had been scouting out any possible enemy forces, and had escaped this disaster, which had luckily only claimed eight hundred lives, but left the entire formation in a shambles, which would get worse when the reinforcements arrived, discovering that there was no base ready to recieve them.
The first transports loaded with replacement equipment were taking off from bases in clandonia within 10 minutes, there crews just roused from sleep in the pilots ready room, only 400m from there birds.
Meanwhile the navy went crazy, as soon as the attack had begun, the Ironside's massive sonar assembly had gone to yankee-search, hitting the water with massive pulses of low frequency sound, within a few tens of seconds, they had the rewards for this action.
"TWELVE CONTACTS, DEFINATE SUBMARINE PROFILE!" yelled one of the sonar operators, the one next to him replied "Confirmed, i have em to", he leaned to his radio, hit the send button and spoke clearly but much faster than normal, "Twelve targets identified, bearings and ranges from standard being passed now on datalink channel 3, warshot authorised, repeat warshot authorised"
Every combat vessel in the fleet came about to gain a clear firing solution and a long series of "popping" noises were heard as hundreds of gas charges propelled hundreds of 21" ASW heavyweight torpedoes into the water and sent them against the offending submarines. Meanwhile, the vehicles on land spread out for 30km in all directions, making another attempt at the same tactic ineffective.
And then....
"Vampires Vampires! 120 Marks, profile suggests TASM!" this came from one of the radar operators
The fighter controller spoke into his terminal, vecotring the 24 strong Lu-45 CAP onto the missiles, while the SAM boss hit all the power up switches, bringing the VLS launchers for the Praetorians embarqued on the Ironside online.
The Lu-45s spoke first, launching flights of BVRAAMs, slicing through the entire formation of enemy missiles, reducing it to 34 strong by the time that they had expended all there missiles, which is when the SAMs had there say, Ironside launched over one hundred from its forward VLS, turning the fordecks of the mighty warship to smoke and flame as they forged out on tails of flame, towards appointments with the inbound missiles. These took out all but 3 missiles, which were defeated by the Ironsides CIWS, although one exploded sufficiently close to the Frigate Dale that her forward ballista Block III CIWS was taken out of action for repairs estimated at three hours.
The fleet had escaped lightly, the missile battery would not be so lucky, when the fleet had finished, Kroando itself would cease to exist as an independant nation.

'So its approved, as part of our ongoing fight against EVIL we will deploy our North Sea assets to work with the Spizanians to fight the Kroandonians. Admiral Woflitz your task to destroy all submarine forces with our superior forces.'

'Yes sir, I request that the airforce can provide Nimrod MR4 support and deploy its TU-22M assets with ASW facilities.'

'I shall have that done right away Admiral, good luck I shall leave you to get back to your fleet in the North Sea.'

As the admiral left the building he ran to the helicopter that was waiting in the snowy launch pad and set off to join his fleet out at sea as they moved Eastwards to attack Kroando. Watching as the air transport waves set off delivering equipment to the Spizanian army on the ice sheet.

'Poor sods.' Thought the Admiral, I need to get there fast so they don't freeze to death.

[Few quick OOC things before I post.

1. Where is Clandonia in regards to Nova Europa? I was under the impression that Nova Europa was thousands of miles away from any other continents. Unless Clandonia moved to NE, I think he'd be a bit out of helicopter range.

2. Im not sure exactly how many troops you have. I see a number of divisions, but many people use many different numbers for division totals.

3. How many torpedo's did you fire? 100? 900?

A quick summary of your troop deployments and ill have a much better picture. Thanks.]

The total manpower of the troops currently on the pack is about ~80,000 with 240,000 on the way to reinforce and push into your nation
I fired approximately 240 torpedoes of 21" type, the sea is full of mechanical "fish".

Il try and get a summary, but currently deployed troops are mostly dragonos, they are mechanised infantry utilising large numbers of light armoured vehicles in support, aswell as HUMVEE type things. There are also support elements required for maintaining the base on the ice and supplying them once they move inland.

Chancellor Bismarck, a man known and feared in the political tangle and violence of Moorish politics, took the paper from the messenger’s hands. While not gently, he made sure not to throw around his weight and strength like a bull in a China-shop.

Asking to stab the ever-venerable state of Kroando in the back? What madness was this? Nova Europa will be a dominant player, and it will not be helped by dividing the ranks. Contemplating the ability of the elite Moorish army, and the replies of the other nations, he decided to send some forces towards Kroando, but not will-nilly.

"Your Majesty." And Aide said to Andrei Kleinheart while he was eating his mid-morning brunch. The King looked up to him with a look of slight disdain, but it was quickly replaced by one of concern.

"Jean, what is it?" He asked partially fearing the answer. This was the second time in two months he had been called upon by an Aide with information. The first time was with the Mongol Invasion of Kroando. Andrei could only guess what it was this time.

"Read this, your Highness." Jean said as he handed a manilla folder with the words "For the King's Eyes Only" stamped in red on it. Andrei gingerly took the folder. He held it in his hands for a moment, contemplating what the folder's contents were. His thoughts draw a blank and so he began to read the folder's contents.

After reading the entire message and much of the intel gathered by some high ranking officials, he made little movement. Apart from setting the file on the table next to his Coffee. His mind raced with thoughts and probabilities. The one he keyed on was the one that supported Kroando alot, if not all the way. Kroando had been a good and sturdy neighbor in the Frozen Wastes that are north of Granate.

"Tell them... no. That is all you are to tell them." Andrei said. He then pushed himself away from the table, suddenly without appetite. He then walked to his office and picked up the phone. He pressed the speed-dial button that put him in contact with his Chief of Staff. He outlined his plans to them, and they agreed with a few reservations. Just what were Andrei's plans? Time will only tell.

Northern Ice Shelf

Over 470,000 men were enroute from the south, only a few miles off of 'the coast' now, preparing to meet the enemy in battle. No matter how terrible the situation seemed to them, and it was bad, they were used to it. They were dressed for the occasion, thermal undergarmates, standard sweatshirts, pants, snow gear and finally a layer of thick winter gear overtop. Mobility was not great for these men... but anyone dressed in less was subject to frostbit. The men preferred to wear their gas masks at all times... as it kept their faces from freezing. This was their land... and any not dressed for the occassion would soon realize that.

Forces were soon sent out to welcome their friends, small skirmishing forces, nothing capable of defeating the enemy, but something to definitely make their presence known. Ten humvees set out, all with different routes across the ice, to deploy Coalitionist Marc Troops, the Elites of the Legionaire. The humvee itself was near damn invisible, as the metal upon it was as cold as the ice below, the snow falling above enough to skew any IR satellite. Regardless, the humvees traversed the distance between the shore and the enemy location relatively quickly, dumping off their cargo of some fourty men along a front many miles wide.

The fourty men were armed in various fasions, some with Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, others with sniper rifles and still some with assault rifles. One of those in an ATGM crew was Sergeant Henry Burke, accompanied by three other Marc soldiers. They were slow to approach the enemy, but speed was not of much importance. Stealth however, was. Not only were they visually invisible due to their pure white uniforms, perfectly matching both the ground and falling snow, to IR, they were as cold as ice. The thermal gear worn by Coalitionist soldiers traps heat for two reasons. One, to keep the soldier warm. Two, to decrease IR visibility. The amount of heat that makes it to the outermost layer of clothing is near nothing, but when it is considered that the soldiers are constantly covered in snow, this reality increases. Setting up some three miles from one of the split fractions of the Spizanian Force, the ATGM crew set up their launcher off of the coordinates of Burke, who had moved in to a mear four hundred meters of the enemy, relaying their positions through a protected radio frequency, very obscure, so as to minimize the liklihood of it being picked up by the enemy. The target was mapped out, a humvee, most likely filled with soldiers due to the ridiculously cold temperatures outside. The rest of the crew, using the target, fired the ATGM, which should hit it's target within the next six seconds. It takes around five to pick up any such missile on RADAR, and minutes to notify and move soldiers... there was no way the hummer was going to 'dodge the bullet' on this one.

Across the front this occured, four missile teams targetting four hummers... it had to start somewhere.

Below the Depths

With over two hundred torpedo's targeting twelve submarines, they were all but done for. Evading would be pointless, there were simply to many fish in the water. The only thing that could be done was to fire back. Since firing upon the ice shelf base of the Spizanian Troops, they had reloaded both their VLS tubes details (http://z14.invisionfree.com/Kroando_Tech_Inc/index.php?showtopic=20) and forward torpedo launch tubes. As SONAR picked up the innumerable numbers of splashes hitting the water, the Tenerife's just fired back. Twelve Tenerife SSH's firing five 500mm MT-4 Torpedo's each, totally 60 torpedo's at various Spizanian vessels. The VLS tubes also unloaded a number of missiles, eight Anti-Shipping Missiles each at other various ships of the enemy fleet, 96 in all. However due to the distance between the Kroandan Submersables and the Spizanian Surface fleet, reloading was actually permissible. The VLS tubes, utilizing their hydraulic lifts spun new Anti-Shipping Missiles into place, along with torpedos of the MT-4 varient. Before the second volley came in, ASHUM Guns were ringing out, doing their best to buy time for the fleet, knocking out as many torpedo's as possible. However it was to no avail, only half of the second volley was fied off, 49 more Anti-Shipping Missiles and 38 more torpedo's, all at the same targets. Shortly after, the Tenerife's were hit. Again, and again, and again, saving the crews from freezing to death in the crushing depths. However with a total of 98 500mm MT-4 Torpedo's, and 145 Anti-Shipping Missiles, all from relatively short range, they hoped their deaths would not be in vain.

Clandonian Northern Fleet

Admiral Wolfitz's fleet continued to make progress now meeting the icy waters they would send more supplies by helicopter to aid the Spizanian forces. As Clandonian Super-Danskerans patroled the massive fleet, protecting the prescious cargo that was carried. Carrying ammunition, construction materials and general stores the fleet of Merlins and Seahawks would be busy as marines and seamen loaded the aircraft on the decks of the carriers and assault ships. In the officers mess a Clandonian Marine Commander asked a question to Admiral Wolfitz as the two were sat down drinking.

'Sir, we in the deployment two divisions of marines, plus tonnes of supplies and artic warfare equipment. I was thinking don't you think our increased numbers could help the Coalitions effects.'

'Hmm, you have a good point and we are very near the ice sheet now, it might be a good idea I don't see a reason as it could mean moving supplies over the land. This weather is getting worse, with the current visilibty helicopters will be grounded for at least 72 hours with the storm. I will message the Spizanians right away.'

'Sir we have confirmation to begin our landings. I have readied the two marine divisiosn to offload via LCACS and helicopter assets. With 40,000 combat marines coming ashore in their artic warfare gear offloading heavy M-55 Black Tiger tanks, AS-90 Bravehearts, MLRS, Warriots and Styker IFV's. All the full force of a marine armoured division.

Rolling across the snow and ice they set pace to regroup with the Spizanians they had heavy armour and they hoped to stop the tirade of Kroandonians from the south with Clandonian fleet arm air support provided by Harrier GR9's to providing much needed close air support. With Clandonian forces now on the ice cap a new front in the war against EVIL had begun.

'Signal Clandonian JOC in Danskeran and tell them we require LC-130 Hercules for the construction of an airstrip. I want to be able to have Clandonian strategical heavy bombers and heavy lift capacity to bring in support. Gentlemen this is where it begins.'

And so the order was sent to the homeland for the special LC-130's, aircraft designed to land on ice. They would bring in the specialist metal heated runway so normal aircraft could land in the artic conditions. A Clandonian speciality developed for the icy conditions when Clandonian forces were on exercise in the wilderness of the Whiskey desert.

So Clandonia Joins the Fray...

After several days the Imperial Army had managed to bring two weapons from the South into action. Two weapons which were just perfect for the situation as hand. Two 433mm Artillery Pieces. Massive weapons, they seemed more like chimneys to houses than barrels to guns, but guns they were... massive guns. These guns were capable of firing 700lb shells over 190miles away, if aided with propellant munitions, 240miles. Albeit they were not all that accurate at their maximum range's, they could still have an impact if properly used.

As the thousands of Coalitionist Soldiers rested inside of APC's, huddled into Kraken II's, or inside the fridgid beds of transport trucks the two behemoth weapons were assembled. Scores of suited soldiers, uniformed completely in white stood around large barrels of burning rubber in an attempt to keep warm, watching as mini-cranes hoisted parts into place, slabbing on massive levers and cranks. This was truly a sight to behold, as the gun stood meters high, the support structure simply massive. The shells however... my god. One was as tall as a man, and as wide as four. Loaded with OctaNitroCarbane (sp), the most explosive non-nuclear weapon known to man, the blast from one of these shells was simply awe inspiring, the crater beings over twenty meters around, the blast radius many more.

Now of course the Kroandans did not plan on winning the war like this, nor even conducting it in such a manner, but the fact of the matter was the Clandonians and Spizanians were not coming. They were sitting up on the ice shelf, not advancing towards land. As they did not hold naval superiority, they dared not venture out onto the ice in any great numbers, so they waited... but now the enemy had something to think about. How long would they now wait, with a pair of 433mm Guns lobbing shells into the air every minute.

The firing began, first on the newly landing Clandonian Marines, hoping to if nothing else, 'stir them up'. The shells began falling, two a minute between the two guns... two a minute throughout the hour... on the hour. Of course there was no worry about the barrel overheating, but precautions were taken to prevent cracking. The only thing that was important at the moment was lobbing those shells at the enemy. [Not very accurate, just meant to entice you inland.]

It was in the afternoon when a telephone labeled 'International Intelligence Service' [IIS] rang in the Prime Minister's office. He immediately picked it up. "Prime Minister, this is John Barclay from the IIS." The voice continued without letting the PM say a word, "the nation of Spizania has launched the Operation Blue Slug, the invasion of Kroando. The Spizanian are landing along the northern ice sheets."

"What a daring attempt," said the Prime Minister.

"Yes, I suspect a lot of men will suffer from the freezing cold climate and the Coalitionists will probably give them a hard time. Anyway, Operation Blue Slug may draw support other nations which are against the Coalition. This all we know for now. We'll keep you posted." Barclay then hung up the phone.

A few moments later, Prime Minister's aide walked into the office and placed a cup of tea and a brown envelope on the PM's table. "Thank you," said the PM. The PM sipped some tea and open the envelope. There were two A4-sized paper. The first one was the communique from Kroando. The second one was the comunique from No Endorse.

After finished reading the two messages, the PM called in his aide. "Tell No Endorse that we are not going to allow them to use our air space. And tell Kroando that we will consider sending help."

The shell's starting falling around hitting the landing forces as they offloaded heavy equipment. With their Artillery Locating Radar Cobra systems trying to track the shells in two stages to pin point their firing via GPS satellite with visual topography. Calling in naval support was the only as eight Harrier GR9's were launched to destroy the deadly battery which had launched the attack as orders were for teams to move in land to advance onto the sheet in hope of confronting Kroandonian forces.

The Harriers flew over the ice sheets at low level looking for the enemy, upon spotting it they proceeded to open up with their 30mm cannons and CR7 70mm rockets onto the troops that they saw on the ground hoping to have vengence for the attack that had killed 37 of their comrades.

'We need to hurry up and get a bloody move on so we have our armour on the ice, whats the point of bringing 800 M-55's with us if you don't want to use them?' Spoke the commander of the 4th Marine Armoured Division as he sat watching the smoking craters around the landing camp.

'I fear there are more Kroandonians than we actually know about. After all this is their homeland and this is Nova Europa, they don't like us around here and the government suspects that they will try and help EVIL.' Spoke a naval officer who was in task off the huge offloading mission from the assault ships and some of the carriers.

'Hmm, orders are to move in land and get the airstrip operational. Then we can bring in supplies or potentially more forces to this little battle front that has just been opened.'

With the help of clandonian aerial lift assets, the Confederate Army Corps of Engineers had managed to rebuild the base in time for the arrival of the Clandonian Marines, and for the twenty four reinforcing divisions from Alexandria that were now arriving, hundreds of Chinook and Sea Knight Helicopters were unloading hordes of infantry as LCACs landed thousands of vehicles, including four hundred Nakil A1SZ Main Battle Tanks, courtesy of the para-armoured corps of the Confederate Airbourne.
Surface to Air Missile launchers were again emplaced around the perimetre, as were Self Propelled Anti Tank Guns and Missile Launchers, there crews not even leaving the vehicle to utilise the bulldozer attachment, as was normal procedure, they simply waited for the engineers to arrive with there dedicated vehicles to dig embrasures in the ice.
The Battleship Elusive once again ran powerlines to the base, utilising the immense output of her nuclear reactors to power the bases heaters, lights and electronic equipment until deisel generators and heaters were set up.
The million tonne diesel tanker Venerator was also brought close to the edge of the icepack, she was recently arrived and carried all the diesel fuel the army was ever going to need, insulated pipeliens were simply run through the water to the edge of the ice, and from there overice to the base, where it would provide the fuel for the eventual drive inland.
The patrols around the perimetre were doubled, as Clandonia submarines went under the ice to hunt any enemy boats from getting close enough to the new base to repeat the original attack, the engineers began to contruct a primative airbase that would enable additional close air support aircraft to be brought in from the mainland, increasing the amount of air cover available to the advancing forces.
With the base secure and more and more engineering elements arriving, the plan moved to phase two. Armoured Engineer units, attached to the paraarmoured divisions began to contruct a "road" across the ice, consisting of heavy matting laid over a stretch of ice that had been completed leveled and had faultlines filled, it headed towards the shore in a laser straight line, an insulated and heated pipeline running beside it.
The Pipeline was an interesting to design, it was laid at about the same speed the matt was being unrolled from the rollers mounted on the back of the engineering vehicles, that is at about 10 miles per hour, first the ice was sprayed with a matt of fast drying insulating foam, then the pipe was laid from a roller on the back of a vehicle, and then loads more foam was sprayed ontop of it, the heating elements were built into the pipes, and just had to be plugged into little generators every kilometre or so, which tapped there fuel from the pipeline. Defending each generator was an air defence variant of the T110 Velite, its 35mm Autocannon and 8 Starstreak missiles providing adequate protection against both ground and air threats likely to be sent against it. The ADVs ran there engines continously, tapping off diesel from the pipeline, but the flow capacity was so great it was unlikely to make a difference.
The pipelines purpose was to become clear when the road reached the hundred mile mark, where a second base was to be set up, to act as a forward base and refueling area for the push inland.
The apparatus had so far only covered six miles from the base, but it would reach the hundred mile mark within 10 hours, with the laying operation protected as it was by a full division of the dragoon guards moving in a wide echelon formation, major interuptions seemed unlikely.

Ice Station Perimetre
The crew of the Humvee targetted by the enemy Missile Launcher were all gathered around a parafin heating in the enclosed truckbed, with a flatscreen television displaying the crews favourite episode of the Hit TV-series Battlestar Galactica, when suddenly a loud boom sounded outside the vehicle and the image on the screen was replaced by an attack warning, the Humvees Trophy-based APS had shot down the enemy missile before it could damage the humvee, and had calculated the bearing on which the missile had approached.
The crew rushed to there combat posisitions, the driver firing up the engine, which had had a parafin heater fitted to it especially for the op, and starting the vehicle moving, along the bearing indicated, while the gunner used a TV camera site and a set of joystick like controls to fire the roof mounted AGL in a pattern along there course, hopefully one of the grenades would get close enough to hurt them, perhaps breaking the IR proof body suits intelligence had said they had been issued with.

Supercapital Warship Ironside
"vampires Vampires" yelled a radar operator as the SAM boss again hit the triggers for the SAM and CIWS control systems, "Queen Three Torpedo Torpedo Torpedo" yelled the SONAR chief as he hit the triggers for the ships massive battery of ASHUM guns, designed for just this sort of situation.
Every other ship in the fleet took similar precautions, as the sky filled with hundreds of short range SAMs and the 35mm Gatling CIWS began to speak, all in all the barrage downed all but eighteen of the missiles, nine of which struck ironside, knocknig out one of the 20" wing turrets, but otherwise causing only light damage to the collosal supercapital, the other nine, well, those struct the now empty transports that had brought the first wave of soldiers and equipment, seven transports were sunk and another was left burning and listing ominously as the crew used the helocopter pad and LCACs to abandon ship.
The water also began to fill with light torpedoes fired from the escorts that started picking off enemy torpedoes as they closed with the armada, next came the noisemakers and ASHUM guns as they closed, taking out or luring away all but eighteen of the torpedoes, which mostly slammed into more empty transport ships, sinking another six, but four struck the escorts, sinking the Frigates Dale and Blackhaven in a matter of minutes, its crew running along the decks for the racks of stored lifeboats.

The enemy thought they could strike with impunity using superheavy landbased artillery, they were wrong, they thought there tiny 433mm guns were longer ranged than any available to the coalition, they were wrong, they finally believed that there posistion would not be accurately zereod in for quite some time. They were wrong.
The AESA type radar system had been tracking the first two projectiles for the majority of the flight, and the ballistics computer had calculated the launch site, now they would pay for there stupidity.
All twenty seven 81.2cm/62 Naval Rifles elevated to about forty five degrees and loaded rocket assisted submunitions dispensor rounds, they fired as one, and two minutes or so later, fired again, and again, and again, it would go on for an hour, or a total of thirty volleys, each one sending 27 rounds of ammunition to the launch site.
Each round would split open and shower the area with hundreds dual purpose submuntions, equally effective against infantry and the weak top armour of lightly armoured vehicles, such as SPHs, APCs, Humvees and other such things, and if one landed on the barrel of the enemy guns, it would likely punch a hole through it, that could be repaired, but the shear number of holes that would be punched in the enemy weapons would render them useless, it would weaken them so much that they could not be safely patch up again.
They would be silenced, it was time that they learned that long range self propelled artillery on a terrestial platform could not match up to the shear firepower of a supercapital unless they had more guns, and they most certainly did not have more guns.

Deciding the time was ripe for Moorish intervention, but not to much intervention if things go noticeably down-hill in the future, a new design agency sub-contracted by a more easily traceable to the Moorish government umbrella corporation tries out its latest venture. Combining several ideas a different think take thought up, it uses the aspects of super heated air, the natural combustion prone gas of oil and gasoline, and lazers.

See, while most of the world continued to dawdle and fret, and ignore lasers. The Moors have been busy, using a series of complex and hard to describe machines, processes, and machines a thin, very thin, energy beam is produced. While not really all that amazing, the beam itself can hardly go through concrete or an inch or two of steel, what occurs around it does. Because of the friction between it, the air, and other particles super heated air is produced usually at temperatures only at space shuttle lift offs.

Thus, this little operation is rolled out to Kroando, and assembled at the most forward outpost, in a secret attempt to see if the millions of Silvarian Marks were worthwhile, and to see if that oil pipeline could spark a delay.

The Free Land of Dartia has enjoyed peace with its neighbors for over a hundred years. While Kroando's policies (particularly the institution of slavery) are hardly popular with our people, they have always treated us fairly. They have never threatened us, and we frequently engage in mutually beneficial trade.

Granting nations basing rights for the purpose of attacking Kroando will undoubtedly result in Dartia becoming a regional pariah. We will lose the hard earned trust of our neighbors, who will likely view us as traitors.

However, we cannot ignore our committments to the Sovereign League. Given the immense backing membership provides us, it hardly seems fair for us to refuse the only request ever made of us.

The Free Land of Dartia will grant basing rights to coalition forces, provided the coalitions agrees to the following conditions:

- Kroando should be offered reasonable terms for surrender, which they may accept at any time.
- Reasonable efforts should be made to minimize civilian casualties.
- Reasonable efforts should be made to protect Dartia from counterattack.
- Abolishing slavery in Kroando should be added to the coalition's agenda.

If these terms are agreeable, all coalition nations excluding Clandonia Prime will receive whatever basing rights.

Understand this decision will not be popular with the people of Dartia. By granting these basing rights, my administration is effectively committing political suicide. I suggest every effort be made to conclude this war before my current term of office expires in three years.

Minutes Before Clandonian Attack

"Sir, we've got bogies on LADAR!", shouted a tightly wrapped Legionnaire, entering the white command tent on General Braddok. "Have you confirmed it on IR?", shouted the officer, noticibly warmer as he stood next to his mobile heater. "Yessir.", replied the soldier, his voice muffled by his large white gas mask. "Then take em' out for christs sakes."

As the eight Harriers took off, they were being watched. As they continued across that ice, that ice that by birth right belonged to the Kroandan people, they were being watched. When they came within thirty miles not only were they being watched... they were being fired upon. SDCI-2 SAM Missile Batteries which had been deployed throughout the Coalitionist Front were now filling the air, over 36 being fired at the 8 Clandonian Harriers. The missiles, traveling at supersonic speeds, would reach the enemy fighters long before they were in range of the 433mm Gun, hopefully knocking them out before any damage was caused. In the case that by some miracle the jets avoided the missiles, the batteries could throw a dozen more into the air in the snap of a finger. Regardless, the guns would not be knocked out by these Clandonians.

The Spizanian Strike

Apperantly they did not want to come out and play. They were intent with simply lobbing shells back and forth, and why shouldn't they have been, they were good at it. The coastal guns of the massive Spizanian Vessel took little time in smashing the two 433mm's, blowing away a number of Legionnaires in the process. Thankfully by this time fox holes, trenches and bunkers had been blown out with explosive charges, minimizing casualties from the various small projectiles being lobbed at them. Several hundred were wounded, only fourty six killed, but there were a number of trucks and logistical vehicles that were either flaming wrecks, or severely crippled.

Time for a bit of... pay back. As the Spizanian shells fell, massive missile launching vehicles were wheeled about, and their targets mapped. According to satellite intelligence, the Spizanians were now laying pipelines across the ice... a bold, but more importantly, vulnerable move. One blast would cause massive damage, but the only trick was getting that initial blast. The massive missile launching platforms were loaded not only with alternated Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, but with Valour Class Anti-Shipping Missiles. The enemy had a significant disadvantage here. They were fighting thousands of miles away from their homelands, meaning that any supplies they were getting, were coming from a far ways away. The Kroandan forces could fire missiles all day long, and always expect another shipment from down south... but the Spizanians, their ammunition stores, however great, did have limits. The goal now was to test those limits, and more importantly, test the new Valour Class Anti-Shipping Missile.

As the shells of the massive Super Dreadnoughts fell unto the frozen Coalitionist Lines, missiles flared up. Hundreds, actually, closer to a thousand. A massive strike, taking nearly 1/6 of their entire aresenal in one massive hammer fall. Of course those missiles would be replaced three fold when the next convoy arrived from Moscow, but that was besides the point. 650 Valour A9/00 Anti-Shipping Missiles (http://z14.invisionfree.com/Kroando_Tech_Inc/index.php?showtopic=22&st=0#entry10195245) rocketed into the air, screaming towards their massive enemy. These Anti-Shipping Missiles were not your run of the mill rocket, they had a unique feature about them. When they closed in on 4 miles of the enemy dreadnought, seven smaller rockets broke off. Those eight rockets, all carrying high explosive, flared towards various targets on top of the ship. Now they were not powerful enough to crack the hull, but one of those rockets hitting a satellite dish? Hitting a command station? A radio tower? The countless numbers of vital ordanance devices and pieces of equipment ontop of the ship that were oh so fragile. In this particular case, the massive generators on the vessels. The numbers of targets were endless. And let us not forget, the main missile still existed, carrying 220kilos of OctaNitroCarbane with them at supersonic speeds right onto the deck of the enemy ship. Those 650 Valour ASM's deployed 4,450 smaller rockets well outside the range of CIWS Guns and quick fire anti-missile rockets. Over five thousand projectiles in all, they sought to overwhelm the enemy defences. But in case this was an immpossible task, there were RADAR Jammers. One in every twenty Valour Class ASM's carried a RADAR jammer to confuse enemy targeting capabilities, slowing any weapon guided by RADAR. LADAR and IR deflecting measures described in brief.

However the 650 Valour's did not go out alone. Not by a long shot. 300 Refitted Tomahawk Missiles were fired at various Spizanian positions, most important of which were the gas lines being laid across the ice. Fifty missiles were fired with this task. The other 250 were fired at various troop locations, vehicle stops, ammo dumps and shelters. The Spizanians would either move across the ice, or they would perish. Staying where they were was becoming less of an option by the day.

Perimeter

Burke cursed as he saw the Humvee's Trophy system knock out the ATGM fired by his comrades over three miles away, but all was not lost. They were now tracking down his friends based off of their position, they knew nothing of him, who sat only four hundred yards away. As they sped towards the ATGM crew three miles away, they would pass directly by him. And pass they did. As they drove by, he leveled off his C1 Assault Rifle, squeezed the secondary trigger and off fired a small grenade with a short rocket fuze. These grenades, being quite small were nay immpossible to target with Trophy Systems, especially in such horrid weather. Wasting no time he loaded a special clip, and began firing on 3 round bursts, pouring Armor Piercing Ammunition into the side of the hummer.

Foreign air bases will be sought with regional allied nations, and our ships will approach and destroy the enemy’s navies.

600 P.746.F Ultra Long Range Surface to Air Missiles fired out of various VLS cells on the forward deck of the ship, streaking out towards the incoming missiles at close to mach 5, they would intercept the enemy missiles approximately two and a half minutes.
They waited as the missiles burned towards each other with a closing speed of going on mach 6.

Three more missiles streaked out towards the enemy "Valour" missile, easily swatting it from the sky, while the Tomahawk fell pray to a missile from the Bases Mobile Defence battery some 30km from the pipeline, which was continuing to advance and now stretch almost fifteen miles long, next to the road which was advancing at the same rate.

Ice Station Perimetre
The Grenade smacked into the applique on the side of the vehicle, blowing a fist sized hole through it and sending fragments through the doors where they were caught by the layer of Kevlar that lined it, the rifle rounds turned the passenger side window into a mess of starlines, but did not penetrate, in response, one of the erstwhile passengers opened a small firing slit, shoved his rifle through it and began firing rapidly, towards the man who had fired on them with a grenade and a rifle.

As the eight Harriers deployed their loads, evading missiles as flurries more appeared in the air as the pilots attempted to gun down men on the ground as they ran away from the explosions.

'Eject eject!!!' Screamed one pilot as a SAM missile streaked across the right hand wing of his aircraft as he tried to evade it. The missile severed avionics and the jet plummeted down onto the ice.

'Moto 2 is down repeat, moto 2 is down!' Shouted the leading pilot as he evaded the missile spam.

'Launch the Storm Shadows now before we all go down!' The Storm Shadows were fire and forget missiles which could carry conventional and un-conventional payloads. Each Harrier carried two missiles and as they struglled to fight their way through they launched the salvo of around 12 air launched cruise missiles as another jet go struck head on killing the pilot instantly in a firey death.

'All remaining missiles away!'

As commanders at base camp listened in on the radio's as Clandonian marine enginers slotted together the 2000 metre metal slot runway. This would be the start of the Clandonian invasion, a path would be created with a heated road surface with various stations along the way providing resupply, rest and defence.

'Sir we have a message from Clandonian JOC, they have promised another two fleets with a possible 200,000 more Marines and a possible army group!'

'This is good news, a reason to celebrate I think.' Spoke Wolftiz from temporary runway base camp to a collection of officers who had gathered for a briefing on the current situation.

'I want regular status reports on the construction and offloading process.'

'By your command sir.' Came the collective reply from the twenty or so officers as they got up and left the warmness of the room with their artic uniforms and parka coats resisting the icy perils of building a fully functioning military air strip on an ice sheet.

[@Spizania. Quick question. You said that your missiles intercepted my Valour Class ASM's at 2.5 Miles. If that was the case, by that time they would have already deployed their near 4,500 smaller rockets. What kind of damage did those 4,500 High Explosive Rockets have?

Kroandan Line

The Clandonian Harriers were shooting at a crater. The area they were hitting was simotainiously being hammered by the Spizanian Guns, which had already eliminated the threat of the 433mm's. Their rockets, missiles and other such payload crashed into the area of the Legionnaires, but due to the almost non-existant visibility resulting from the snow fall, the hits were largely by chance. Dozens more lay dead, scores injured. Somehow the enemy had dodged these missiles. SDCI-2's were some of the most advanced Surface-to-Air Missiles around, nearly immpossible to dodge with standard manuvers, largely immune to decoys such as chaff and flares. How the enemy was evading them was astounding. However there was a solution. More missiles. G-24 Strikers on the ground filled the air, firing five SDCI-2's at each remaining aircraft. These missiles were guided so that even if they by some chance missed, would turn around and follow the target until their target lock was met.

Perimeter

Dropping deeper into the snow, Burke clutched his head. He had been hit. He was going to die. He could feel it. He felt around his helmet, searching for the blood that was doubtlessly gushing out. But there was no red. No blood. Just a dent. Thank god... just a dent. He burrowed deeper into the frozen snow, grasping his rifle as the chilled ice fell from above. He moved not, he let the snow cover him. He had done his job, for all the enemy knew, he was dead. He certainly couldn't see the humvee any longer, which meant they could not see him. He would wait. Just wait as the enemy vehicle drove on to his friends.

Further away the ATGM crew had split up, taking up positions around a hundred yards away from the initial launch site, waiting for the enemy hummer to arrive. The three men waited, being informed by their comrade Burke that the missile had been shot down. Taking up positions behind the snow, they used IR goggles, issued only to Marc Troops to look for the hummer. And stick out it did. The hot engine of the vehicle stuck out like a soar thumb, and even though they could not see it through the snow, they could see the relatively warm metal of the vehicle. As the vehicle approached, they waited, waited until it was within fifty yards of their original destination. And bang, each of the three men fired the grenade from his rifle right at the hummer, three grenades in all at the front, one heading towards the front windshield. Then came the bullets. Bursts of lead spewing from three directions, attempting to punch through the windows of the vehicle with their armor piercing munitions.

Message to Pudu

Though we do appreciate the offer, there are other fronts that require assistance far more than we do. Our situation is stable, we estimate that we should be able to repulse the enemy with the forces deployed at the moment, however if need be, we have it in our power to summon many more.

'More missiles on our tail!'

Another aircraft took a hit with the pilot killed on impact, in total three out of the eight aircraft had been downed. With flares and chaffs now exhausted.

'Command, we need rescue reports we are running low on fuel and have lost three flights.'

'Roger Moto 4, you be advised on what to do shortly.'

'What the fuck, we are dieing now we need support!' Screamed the pilot as another missile took down his wing men. Then another burst infront of him showering hot metal into the turbine intakes destroying the turbine fans.

'Shit I'm going down hard!' As the wing commanders plane went down crashing onto the ice skidding then flipping onto its side. He clambered out in the dazed and dizzy state and ran before the aircraft was engulfed in the explosion as the fuel pooled in the engine and ignited.

The other planes tried to evade before eventually being brought down. In total all eight planes were down, with only three survivors the search was on now for the Clandonians to rescue their pilots before the Kroandonians found them first.

Kroandan Line

"Sir, good news. All Clandonian Aircraft are reported down.", or so the transmission said, that crackled, muffled transmission from a G-24 currently speeding out onto the ice. Fifteen humvee's, accompanied by five G-24 strikers were now moving out to inspect the wreckage, and to pick up whatever 'collateral' they could. It did not take long for their IR detection systems to see the flaming carcases of the Harriers, of course they were inspected first. The G-24's were there however not to pick up prisoners, but to create more. If the Clandonians sent out a rescue force, as they very well may have, the G-24's would pick them up and fire Anti-Aircraft Missiles to shoot down the choppers. The first aircraft, the first one seen, was immidiately to be fired upon.

However at the moment the Coalitionists were searching for any downed pilots in the area, they were often more valuable than the aircraft themselves. Before long a IR signature was picked up... a smaller one. One in the shape of a man. One of the many humvees rolled up, within fourty yards of the figure and called out out with the megaphone. "Stop now! Come forward with your hands in the air!" This message was sent out in many languages, English, Russian, Latin... they were not sure what it was the enemy spoke. Surely it was some satanic dialect, but they knew not what it was.

The Moor scientists huddled around in their thermal tent. Watching as the deployment of the machine concluded. Being a user-friendly device, if such a benign word could be used for this type of equipment, the scientists hardly had to do more than push the big red button. With a whir, and some beeps and mechanical clicks, the machine powered up.

As the separate laser terminals powered up, a red glow pervaded the ice of Kroando. Each separate laser was about 1 Terawatt strong, but when they all combined, about 1000 in total, amazing stuff happened. There were 10 terminals, and each terminal had 100 nodes from which the lasers would emit from, they then aimed at a series of glass tubes. They ‘emptied’ out into an even bigger piece of equipment and shot out the other side in the form of one tiny, hardly 1/100 of a centimeter, lazer towards the somewhat distant Spizanian pipeline.

Almost instantly the superheated air came rushing back at the scientists and their workstations, envisioning this, they had made sure to get out of their big winter coats and into something more heat oriented. For even though there was a good inch or two of snow a hour coming down, along with the ice and cold temperature, they were feeling like they were in the South on a muggy day.

Another Clandonian pilot had found his CO, the wing commander the two had crashed nearby. Clandonian pilots carried within their survival kits two weapons, an MP7 and standard service Glock 34. Both had their MP7's drawn just incase they met some not very friendly Russians. Hearing the loud speakers, they decided to run faster away towards the Clandonian forces.

The pilot that had been found was a newbie pilot, transfered from WSOP from the Clandonian airforce it was his first navy posting. Straight into a war and he had been downed, concussed and with his ankle injured he tried to run as he saw the approaching vehicles. Collapsing onto the snow, unable to walk he knew he knew he wouldn't be able to run.

Loading a 20 round mag into his MP7 and waited, if he had to fight he would. He knew nothing about these monsters that had just shot down his fellow pilots, no one knew how the Kroandonians treated their prisoners...

"They're runnin'.", grumbled the Master Sergeant, confirming what he suspected through the IR Sensor. Of course they could not visually see them due to the massive snow fall, but they knew where they were based off of the onboard IR device. "Alright... ill do it...", grumbled Private Casimov, tightening his gas mask strap to his large white helmet. Slowly dragging himself up, he popped open a latch to the roof of the hummer, and stood upon the leg rail to prop himself up. The icy cold hit him like a brick, even through his various layers of winter gear. Those pilots must have been freezing... well, time to put an end to that. He squeezed the trigger of the gun, rattling off rounds in the direction of the fleeing pilots. "Did I get em'?", shouted the private after a few bursts. "NO!", shouted the Sergeant, constantly watching the enemy through the IR Sensor. The trigger was once again squeezed... this time not until the heat signatures dropped to the ground.

Further away another hummer had picked up the heat signature of a downed man... and as it was procedure to pick up prisoners, two men stepped out. Slowly trudging through the snow they approached the man, now in vision sight. With their reinforced kevlar vests, layered with ceramic plated, it was doubtful he carried anything that would pose much of a threat to the men. However, moving closer, one kept his assault rifle on the pilots location at all times, if he moved, bullets would fly. "Stand up! Try anything, and die.", shouted one of the Legionnaires. If he tried nothing, he would be dragged back to the hummer and taken to camp. If he did. Bang.

'Come on lets get out here!' said the other pilot as he helped his wing commander limp away as the bullets wizzed over some metres away. They knew there was another of their comrades on the ice but in the snow storm that was starting to get worse it was near total white out.

'How far are we away from rescue?'

'I don't know, in these conditions I doubt helicopters are in the air now. I will try the radio. Command, what is our ETA on rescue forces and how far are they?'

'Roger, rescue forces are around 20 km's South of your position.' Came the crackled reply on the small satellite radio.

'OK so if we get a move on now we could be there in around 40 minutes.'

'Good, lets get a move on then.'

The quickened the pace, in the deepening snow which was now past their ankles they moved on through the storm having to use the small compass as the GPS device had died after the cold drained the battery. Clandonian forces had moved in rescue forces by a LC-130 which had landed 40 miles away and dispatched ground forces before the darkness set in.

The fate of the injured pilot was sealed, staggering to his feet in the deep, arms up with his weapons on the floor. A small cut on his head had stopped flowing and there was a trail from his uniform to the crisp white snow. He was freezing with the darkness setting in and the sub-zero day temperatures even colder at night he now wondered if a a shot to the head, freezing to death or being captured by the Kroandonians was worse...

"Eh... did I get em yet?!", shouted the Corporal as he attempted to look into the distance, the falling snow defeating his vision. "Eh... cant tell anymore... loss the damn heat signatures in the snow... keep firing, further out.", shouted the Master Sergeant, attempting to find the pilots which had moments before been in sight. However in the conditions, the liklihood of finding them was next to none. Chances were they were already dead, laying under a foot of snow. Psssshhhtttt... return to base... psssshhhhtttt.... The radio crackled, obviously interefered with by the storm. Within a few minutes the white hummer was riding back, through the foot deep snow back towards the Kroandan Camp, which was still recooperating from the Spizanian Naval Bombardment.

However the Clandonians were not quite out of the fray yet. Not by a long shot. The heat of the large helecopter was picked up during the intense InfaRed Sweeps made by Kroandan aircraft and land based detection systems. The helicopters position was immidiately charted by Kroandan Strategic Command... and before long, C-24 Big Guns were moving their massive barrels in the direction of the landing site. The heat signature soon died down, however that merely meant the chopper had shut off it's engine, and the snow was now covering it... the aircraft was still there, they were sure of it. Seven C-24 Big Guns sat moving their turrets for well over six minutes, aiming them just so, they were not planning on letting them escape. And in a unanimous burst, seven 300lb 240mm High Explosive artillery shells were blasted off towards the ice shelf, all moving in on the helicopters position. Seconds later seven other C-24's fired off a volley. Normally the target would have been near out of range, but these shells were equipped with self-proppelled fuses, giving them just enough to hit their targets. However this did not quite convince the Coalitionists of their enemies demise, and so a series of missiles were fired. Three G-24's, using the previously determined location, fired three surface-to-surface Twister missiles with a special napalm charge, meant to cover as much distance as possible with flame... inflicting maximum casualties.

As the two Coalitionist Soldiers approached the surrendering Clandonian, he was immidiately grabbed, one of the masked white suited soldiers binding his hands with a plastic binding device. [Ya know those things that can close but not open? Cant think of the name] After thruoughly searching him for explosives, grenades, weapons and other such hazardous items, they literally dragged him through the snow and threw him into the hummer. The vehicle turned back to the camp, one of the soldiers keeping his gun on the prisoner at all times. At the camp the man was taken to a field hospital and treated for his wounds. After a few days he would be taken back to Moscow and placed in a newly re-opened prison, specially refitted for POW's. The food was shit, and the prison drafty, but then again, that was Kroando.

'Whats that sound?'

'Sounds like heavy gunfire, quick lets run as the two surviving pilots aproached the head lamps of the armoured Range Rovers. Three vehicles, heavy .50's swung out they were greeted by a Army captain who got them into and radioed in to the waiting aircraft which was coming under heavy artilery fire and had begun pre-flight preparations for departure.

'Shit, the plan is taking hits we will have to a running boarding.'

'Running boarding? Whats that?' Asked one of the pilots.

'Its where the aircraft gets moving and we drive on to it at maximum speed.'

'Thats suicide, with the amount of ice we could break the cargo ramp!'

'Its the only way unless you want a three hour drive back in this weather?'


At the plane the crew were warming up the engine primers, they would have to use their jet assisted rockets, (JATO's) which would be able to quicken the take off.

'Christ.' Remarked the pilot as a shell burst about 20 yards in front throwing ice and snow onto the cockpit as piece of shrapnel cracked the glass.

'We need to get a move now!' Screamed the load master as the a missile exploded covering the aircraft in flames.

'We have engine fire, on four. Shutting down.'

'Ok the Landys are coming!'

As the Range Rovers gained speed, their massive 4 litre engines revving to the max as the gear box was put into Sports Auto maxxing at around 120 mph to get onto the plane but sadly, another missile took out the last vehicle as it was going for the ramp run covered in napalm the tires burning it lost speed as exploded.

At least the two pilots had been saved, a costly mission with five dead and another missing in action.

Moscow, unknown Prison, Kroando

The prisoner had been treated of his wounds, he was scared and very worried now. With him being the only Clandonian there he hoped the government still knew he was alive, his equipment was gone along with the photo of his family he proberly thought he was dead by now.

He knew the Clandonians had done rescues before, they would come in time as no one was ever left behind. He was also wondering why he had not been tortured or interorgated yet.


Clandonian Military J.O.C, Clanon City

'Mr President we have confirmation that we lost five servicemen, two were picked up with a lucky escape but four members of the rescue team were killed and we have one MIA.'

'General, we have now confirmation that he has been captured according to the rescued wing commander.' Spoke a girl, from the airforce handing a dosier to the president.

'This is bad, inform his family but what are the chances of rescue occuring?' Spoke the president reaching for a cigar from the box on the table.

'Highly unlikedly, we don't know where the pilot is being held, proberly deep within Kroando.' Spoke the army Field Marshall who was puffing away on a cigar with a glass of whiskey, his favourite past time, drinking.

The airforce General Tetigen got up, putting down his cigar in the ash tray rest.

'Mr President, I think its time we began our bombign campaign to target the secondary list if the Kroandonain's don't hand over or inform that they have one my men in their holdings. We would then proceed to drop cluster, thermobarical and general ordnance onto their civillain populations in an attempt to try and get the civies to overthrow the government.'

'Hmm we shall have to debate this further General...'

The meeting then turned into ongoing discussion about various other aspects of the war on EVIL, with the events in Eurasia on the top list and also news of a nation called Die Buristan causing some problems with its radical racial policies.

Clandonian Airfield Ice Sheet HQ

'Attention Spizanian naval forces we are requesting naval gun fire supports on Kroandonian positions in satellite map co-ordinates.'

'Sending to your position now.'

The Clandonian request for naval artilery was in support of their incoming rescue flight which was heavily damaged and carrying wounded men with serious burns injury.

Inside Wanderjar we will have a single Amphibious Group, Omicron Group. Five-hundred thousand naval Marine Strelkovy will be stationed with this unit. Should you require our assistance, we're never far away.

The Reich War had cost Leafanistan billions, and with a tripling of the Naval budget to acquire even more ships the public was outraged. The victory against the Burnsian Desert invasion was no panacea for the public's outrage. Fleet Admiral O'Toole sighed as yet another angry Senator had sent an equally irate letter.

In frustration she shoved them off her desk. She had to do something. Something that would cut the budget. At the same time, she had to do something to help Spizania. An intern brought a lifesaver. It was a request from Vice Admiral Andreas to decommission the Mark 5 Mobile Nuclear Reactor. All 60 ships of those class were merely converted barges with nuclear reactors on top. She remembered how the Spizanian Liason remarked how thick the ice shelf was and how much trouble it caused.

She quickly called Vice Admiral Andreas and told him she would personally make sure the Mk 5 MNukes would be removed and put to good use. She called up the Wasser Office and asked how much pipe they had for the now-canceled trans-Arctic pipeline.

Nearly 60 kilometers of heated, insulated, and reinforced pipe, now sitting in warehouses near the Arctic Port of Port Liff. A few more calls later, a short ceremony decommissioned all the Mk 5s and they were sent to Spizania for 'recycling'. At the same time, the pipeline was also sent there.

Included was a note: "I heard Kroando was cold, so I sent a way for your troops to always have Hot Cocoa however they advance."

She wondered how soon the Spizanians would put two and two together.

Ice Shelf

As shells pounded down upon the ice, the IR signature flared up again. A plane. Moving much too fast to be a helicopter the signature was blinking on and off in a intrackable fasion. Due to the ridiculous amount of snow falling and the harsh winds, it was nay impossible to maintain a target for long unless taking it from close range. Before mush time, the plane disappeared, and Kroandan Missile Engineers were left cursing and spitting in rage over their missed chance to down another Clandonian Aircraft. For now, they were send home the several dozen dead, and tend to the wounded.

Moscow Prisoner of War Facility

The Clandonian captive, after being fed his meal of synthetic oat bar held together with synthetic honey and other such basic nutrients was for the first time spoken to. The metal door of the cell opened, a creaky metallic opening, and a tall, rather thin man in civilian clothes entered. A large smile on his wrinkled face he extended his hand to the crippled pilot. “Hello. My name is Professor Kalowitz. I am not a soldier as you can see… but due to this stupid war your government has started, I have been taken away from my students to talk with you.”, shaking his head he could only look to the heavens in confusion. “Well, you seem to be the first prisoner of the war… congratulations. Something tells me you wont be the last.”, adjusting his circular reading glasses he began to read the form on his clip board. “Ah… here we go… eh… I will need your name, rank and serial number in order to inform your government of your capture.”

The people of Kroando despised invaders… loathed them. In their minds, their government could screw around, and most of the time they probably deserved the licks they got. They probably deserved the destruction of their tanks, the sinking of fleets, the embargo’s and clandestine operations against them. But once you hit Kroandan Soil, you were no longer attacking the Government… you were attacking the people. They never saw any invasion of Kroandan land as acceptable, if you had a problem with the government, that was fine, most people did… but kill a civilian, take their frozen land, and no longer were you facing the administration, you were fighting the nation. God forbid a nuke be dropped on a non-military target… god forbid they use WMD’s on the people… if this were to occur, especially without proper provocation… then by god duck and cover. The rage would not subside… ever.

Within a few seconds, General Yahalom apeared infront of the PM, dressed in the black and silver military uniform and holding a briefcase in his right hand. "Have a seat," the PM smiled. "Thirsty?" He asked the general when he was seated. "A glass of water water should do." Yahalom replied. The PM pushed a glass towards Mordecai then reached for bottle of water in his mini-fridge.

General Yahalom drank half a glass, before the PM started, "I presume you know the situation in Kroando."

"Certainly."

"I've talked to some ministers today. We have made our decision to commit some soldiers to aid Kroando." He paused, looked into the General's face, Yahalom was in his mid forty, he had a pair of blue eyes and blond hair, kept short and neat at all time. Mordecai didn't show any facial expression at all, although the PM knew with all his heart that Mordecai already knew why he was called. "I want you to lead them."

General Yahalom rubbed his chin slowly, "I will talk to my wife and children about it first, and I'll let you know." The PM replied, "Then inform me by tomorrow noon. If you can't decide by then, you can't decide."

"That's what I always tell my men." General Yahalom picked up his brief case and left.

Very well, the captain sat back in his chair and waited, every known Kroando military posistion was being attacked, the artillery guns that had engaged the Clandonians, the SAMs that the Harriers had reported before going off the air, all the missile launchers that had fired on them so far, everything they knew about would be attacked with 81.2cm Submunition Dispenser rounds, the barrage would go on for hours, the guns attacking the targets nine at time, one mount to a target, just to keep them pinned in place, and 3 81.2cm shells that deployed hundreds of submunitions each was sure to knock them out in most cases, and if that didnt the three following volleys would, it was time to take this war to the next level.
A level that the Fleets command level officers were sure the enemy was ill equipped for.

On the ice, the pipeline and road now stretched some seventy miles inland, with another thirty to run before the half way point was reached and the planned forward camp was established, the engineers were ready to start putting up the hundreds of prefab shelters that had been flown in by the contineuing stream of equipment coming from Clandonia, at the base camp a prefabricated airfield was being set up, with its first eight squadrons of Close Air Support Aircraft already on the way from the Spizanian Mainland, the base was almost complete, with numerous hangars going up around the field, and additional munitions and parts stores being dug into the ice surrounding the soon to be fully active ice landing strip.

Said Stevenson abrutly, he knew the rules of what to do when captured from training one was only give those three details and not to sign anything as it could mean signing your death warrant. Thinking about his last name, being the son of a high ranking Clandonian officer could be problematic to say the least he knew his father would be doing all his best to attempt a rescue. He did not know however of the prepartions for the massive bombing campaign against Kroandos civillian centres by his fellow air force comrades. He was wondering how far he was from friendly land, proberly Wandejarian soil was nearest to the West, that would also likely be the basing point of any Clandonian rescue attempt.

3 km below Weilanshi Mountain, Inner Council Chamber

The heat was unbearable inside the bunker. She never understood why she had even though keeping at least one Triumvirate Council Member inside Weilanshi Mountain at a time was a good idea. Sure it kept them safe, but with the hours of alert a ballistic missile barrage had, they had time to hide. It was just too hot.

Along with most of the other personnel not doing any actual physical labor she had stripped to the bare minimum. It was nearly 120 F inside, and wearing any semblance of a uniform was just too much. Everyone already knew who she was, and no diplomats visited her. Just because you are one of the 3 most powerful people in Leafanistan didn't mean you were immune from hardship.

Air conditioning had been imminent for the past 3 months and so far a stupid fan was all she had. She watched as several of the workers walked by the glass door leading to her 'office' which would soon hold supercomputers and she would soon be sent to the final council chamber, 3.9 km down. The technicians were pretty much naked except for rubber gloves and boots. The workers had to actually wear protective clothing. She sighed and swallowed her pride, she removed her thin gown which fell to the floor unceremoniously and unhooked her sweat-drenched undergarments. She looked around, but no one seemed to care. Everyone was already naked, thanks to public nudity licenses and zoning laws people were fazed anymore.

She returned to the business of a war by proxy. Spizania would owe Leafanistan, and she needed payment. Her other Admirals complained that there was no immediate return. She set out a diplomatic dispatch to both Clandonia and Spizania.

As you can imagine, the loss of 60 ships and 60 km of pipeline hasn't exactly been popular among those who have clearance to know. So to satisfy my angry intelligence officers we request any piece of 'Kro-Tech' you can get your hands on. Destroyed missiles, infantry weapons, vehicles, chunks of aircraft. In return for this we'll share intelligence and technical readouts we can reverse engineer.

We can gain valuable knowledge on their weaponry and perhaps even begin production of valuable materiel.

Kalowitz turned to the door, but was cut short by the Clandonian's snide remarks. "And when we do let you go... what then? Will Clandonia just leave? No... when you are released, the war will continue. If you stay, the war will go on, Kroandans will die. If you leave, the war will go on, Kroandans will die. When you all leave... you shall go with them.", as the professor closed the metal door he gave out one last quote. Pilot Officer of the Clandonian Air Force, Conner Stevenson, serial number 4070495 has been captured in combat and shall remain in Kroandan Captivity until some peace has been brokered.

Spizanian Bombardment

The Spizanians began pouring down hell from the sky, the explosions were immense, but the Kroandan Command was not truly worried. They were well aware that the Spizanians had no exact coordinates, only estimated positions. It was immpossible to have exact coordinates in this land, the snow storms alone destroyed any chance at an accurate IR Ground count, completely skewed LADAR representations and RADAR... well, enough said. The only way the Kroandans had accounts of the Spizanian Dreadnought was due to it's immense size... but even so, since the worsening of the storm, it was quite difficult. So they were firing based off of the visual accounts of Clandonian Pilots... tired, exhausted, beaten and worn Clandonian Pilots who were frankly, more concerned with not getting hit by missile waves than writing down tank positions. The Kroandan lines could just have well been ten miles in land as nine... and though it may not have seemed like much, when considering artillery bombardments, it was the difference between one hundred killed and none.

The Coalitionist Forces were also very spread out, along a front of many, many miles. Firing based off of previous missile launch positions was again, not the greatest strategy. The Kroandan Missile Platforms were mobile G-24 Strikers... vehicles that not only moved about due to doctrine, but because if they did not, they would be burried in snow. Those locations were constantly changing, as were those of the SAM's. Oh... and as if this weren't enough, the Kroandans were over two hundred kilometers away. A vast distance, not easy to hit with indirect projectiles, regardless of the weapons calibre. No matter how accurate a weapon, all of them are subject to natures call. Over such vast distances, such large calibre projectiles are heavily influenced by weather conditions. Over time, even the slightest gust may alter a projectiles directory. Well, the winds were blowing, on average, fifty miles an hour, with snow and ice falling all around. These conditions were certainly capable of moving a shell off course. All in all, the positions of the Kroandans were... relatively safe.

So it was of little suprise that the first shell fell a half mile short, simply sending snow and frozen dirt into the air. But it didn't take long for the soldiers to realise their luck wouldn't hold, as they moved deeper into their trench lines, into the several foot down dig ins. After some time of horribly innaccurate coastal bombardment, in which scores of shells had just hit snow, the first hit came in, killing in one fell swoop, nineteen entrenched men, wounding thirty. Thankfully the Spizanians had no way of confirming that hit, so they had no reason to fire there again... and the next shell was six hundred yards off. After hours and hours of bombardment, in which countless shells were wasted, there had only been a dozen or so hits. Some 280 lay dead, near 400 wounded and heading away from the front. Some two dozen logistical vehicles had been destroyed, along with two SAM Sites and an out of place G-24 Striker. The fact of the matter was this type of warfare, the long distance war, did not work in Kroando, as the advanced targetting techniques, the RADAR, LADAR, IR... it just didn't work very well here.

The Kroandans were not about to take a punch without giving one back. The Spizonian Anti-Missile Missile stores would eventually be worn away, and this next volley was meant to do so. Four hundred Altered Tomahawk Cruise Missiles and five hundred Valour Class Anti-Shipping Missiles were let loose, all targeted at the massive Ironside, using the heat produced by the massive guns as target points. However there was a slight difference this time. The Valour Class missiles only traveled a few dozen meters over the ice... meaning they were virtually invisible to aerial IR detectors (cant see through the blizzard clouds/ice storm), RADAR (again, and the missile is quite close to the ground), and LADAR (laser detection is highly suceptable to the weather.) After moving through the storm on a destination cruise (simply flying to a general location), the missiles were internally guided and only knew their target due to the massive heat produced by the enormous Spizanian guns, as all other guidance systems were ineffective.

Well, it was damn near immpossible to even contemplate rescuing the captive. The prison was located... in Moscow, that massive city housing some 84 Million people, over fourty thousand soldiers, not to mention the countless thousands of Police and Mercenary Personell. Ah, and then the Coalitionist Guard, the Secret Organization which had ears in so many places. The prison itself was only one story above ground... but five below. With some two hundred armed guards, rescue was not likely. Dropping men in... well, they would surely die. But you had to remember... very few people knew where he was being held.

However the real challenge would be getting to the city. Flying over, they were sure to be picked up by RADAR/LADAR/IR Installations, and shot down. But that was for the Clandonians to decide. What were they willing to risk to rescue one man?

"No, and we won't change our position because of it, although I can see some complications developing over that. Have what's left of the coastguard, as well as the mobile SAM systems moved over to the west coast, just in case."

We also find it troublesome that we are on opposite sides of the fence in this conflict. Rest assured, the decision to support the coalition forces was not made lightly.

During your period of isolation, the Kroandan government organized the E.V.I.L. alliance bloc. EVIL's charter claims their principle goal is to conquer innocent nations for the express purpose of exploiting them financially. To accomplish this, their member nations are required to contibute large amounts of men and money towards building a massive army. Once their joint army conquers a nation; they extort money, material, and resources from their victim to grow their army even larger.

This alliance attracted the worst sort of nations. Emboldened by the protection their alliance afforded them, a good number of their member nations began to behave so irrationally that the international community could not ignore them. One nation started rounding up children and babies so they could pulzerized in a gigantic blender. Their familiy members were made to eat/drink whatever remained of them. Another nation started executing people for religious reasons. In short order it became clear that the EVIL alliance members were behaving as though they were having a contest to see who could get away with the worst crimes against humanity.

This group was organized and lead by Kroando. Left to our own devices, the Dartian government would have looked the other way and gone about our business. Our Sovereign League allies felt the situation required action. Naturally, rejected our friends in the Sovereign League in favor of the alliance that thinks throwing babies in blenders is swell was out of the question.

We encourage all of the NEA nations involved in this war to reconsider their position. Do you really want to sacrifice your men to preserve E.V.I.L.?

Leaked memo and on the ground sources in Nova Europa had reported a possible conflict in the decision with regards to the Dartian stand on EVIL. The Clandonian government had recently spent several trillion dollars with a Dartian weapons corporation on adding to the Clandonian nuclear arsenal and a large scale modernisation programe for the air force.

Incase of war, a further fleet was prepared from its home base at Danskeran to aid Clandonian forces, instructions were for the fleet to move off the Dartian coastline to scout a possible route to Kroando with the aim of opening up another front. This of course was done as secretly as possible with the Nova Europans on the edge, this latest move could worry them a great deal. The Dartians would be messaged about this latest move.

The Naashan public feel strongly that this war is, on Clandonia's part at least, another attempt at a landgrab in Nova Europa, and while this is not the view of the majority of my government, we have to be seen to be doing something to thwart it.

The new Naasha has to show a strong face to the world, and unfortunately, having one of our neighbours invaded while we sit back and do nothing would cause a severe loss of reputation.

While we hold no ill-feeling whatsoever toward Dartia, and any other Nova-Europan nations choosing to support the invasion of Kroando, we do feel it warranted to grant security to any E.V.I.L personnel (involved in the war-effort) within our borders, and reserve the right to use force to back that up. An emergency meeting has been called on Friday evening, with the President joining his chiefs of staff on a rare occasion showing the severity of the situation at hand. The interception of communications from Naasha had shown that they were preparing to let EVIL nations have base rights in Naasha. Deeply worrying to the Clandonian government where now potentially Clandonian assets could be under threat.

'Mr President, the situation is highly complex we have a limited amount of time to react. As I speak now we have the 22nd SAS Regiment to deploy 3000 special forces into Naasha to seize the airbases to ensure that EVIL can not deploy forces into these. It is my understanding that our inteligence indicates the Naashan navy has been reactivated, I advise as your senior Chief of Staff for Adminral Dintronich's fleet to move into the Ionian Sea from its current location which is in the South Mediterranean currently on patrol. It would take just over 48 hours to move this fleet in.'

20 Miles from Naashan Airspace

'Command says we have go ahead to take on Samka airbase. I know this is what we have done before, and even some of you have done a tour of action in Naasha. I want our aproach done quickly, lock and load people we are going in.'

'By your command!' Came the reply from the various team leaders and squads of the 1000 members of the regiment. They loaded their G36 Para K's and other assorted weaponry and prepared for the jump down. With their twenty F-22 escourts that would deal with any unfriendlies on the ground and they would stick around to provide air support on the ground.

As they neared the site, Samka loomed on the horizon as the aircraft approached their jump down heights the door locks disengaged to prepare the troops to jump. One thousand of some of Clandonias best, some in their ranks were even some of the XY troops taken from the Corporation to improve the ranks of the SAS, the cold blooded killers perfected not to include human emotion.

'OK, green light is on lets take on these fuckers as revenge for last time!'

As the plane's bellys opened up, to disperse the paratroopers to take this airport, the Clandonian military had plans for this. To station bombers and possibly the rescue mission to free the only Clandonian pilot who the Kroandonians took captive.

"Incoming radar contacts! Lots of them and in formation." The radar operator at Samka had been dozing, the airbase had been shut down ahead of the upcoming E.V.I.L deployment, and they weren't expecting any inbound flights for at least ten hours yet.

"Perimeter security has visual, over! Fighters and transport aircraft, over twenty!"

With the majority of Naasha's SAM system still in transit, and with almost no airforce of which to speak, there could be no intercept.

"Notify the UNNS garrison in the city, if there's anyone on duty, and prepare to evacuate!"

Even as the Clandonians began their drop, the airbase was emptying of what Naashan occupation remained. There weren't enough men to contest the landing, and there was no point throwing away lives here.

The Clandonian troops landed, some of the young guns started shooting at random things, they were quickly put down by their senior NCO's who ordered them to stop shooting and to begin clearing the out various buildings and hangers. Orders were to seize the control tower to allow the Clandonian aircraft who were begining to run low on fuel and with refuel 3 hours away it would be too risky to keep them flying.

A squad of six troopers burst into the radar operations centre, finding several Naashanians.

'Get the fuck down on the floor you Naashan piece of shit or I'll blow your fucking head off!' Screamed one young private as another fired a burst of shots from his Shuko 7.62mm K-80 LMG into the wall.

Orders were to secure the base, after more screaming and threats to the Naashans they waited to hear what the Naashans planned to do with their little lives.

The Dominion Commonwealth of Carbandia feels that our colleaugues in Clandonia Prime over stepped their mandate as part of the Coalition against EVIL by taking military action against the nation of Naasha, a nation that has was not a participant in this conflict, and indeed not a member of either party.

We hereby offer to the same nation the entirety of 2nd corps to help make sure that the Clandonians will not run over them, with further forces on standby, in case they are needed.
Of course these will be under the direction of Naashan high command for the duration of this crisis, and will depart as soon as their hosts ask them to do so.

...and those that had been too slow to get off the base were at least clever enough to surrender. Only twelve men fell into Clandonian custody, ten aircraft mechanics who hadn't heard the evacuation warning and the two radar operators who had manned their post till the last in the forlorn hope of an air-intercept.

Those who had gotten clear headed toward the UNNS garrison post in the city centre, rousing the UNNS soldiers who had been only hours away from standing down. The airbase staff told conflicting stories, but the consensus was that the foe was Clandonian, and that there were 'bloody lots of 'em!'

This report was dutifully passed along to both the UNNS defence command and the new government.

Three Hundred More Missiles joined them in the air, again from the escort rings, the Ironside needed to conserve missiles, while the escorts, which were armed with quad-arm launchers, could easily be reloaded at sea by tenders, the flagship could not, and thus needed to keep her missiles for an emergeancy, and this one was not it, it was a turkey shoot.
Only eighteen missiles, all of them Valours got through the SAM barrage, and those fell victim to IR guided missiles and Gunfire of the CIWS on Ironside, however the auxilliary comm array on the fordeck was knocked out and would day three days to repair, not that it mattered, the Kroandian forces would soon have bigger things to worry about.

The midway point had been reached, as the hundred mile point arrived, several hundred trucks that had been following the pipe and roadlaying operation moved up and began setting up prefab refueling and maintainance hangars, the operation was finished within three hours, and then the armour started rolling, sixteen divisions, including both para-armoured units were moving up the road, covered by the Velite SPAAGs, they refueled and prepared for combat at the base, and then moved into a rapidly forming assault echelon to prepare for the assault on the enemy 100 miles away.
Half of the divisions SPHs and Rocketry were dug in at the launch point, ready to provide covering fire while the other half rushed forward behind the front line and set up 20 miles away, they would then cover the advance while the other artillery raced forward and set up 20 miles beyond them, the artillery could make 60 miles an hour, so the advance was held to about 45 miles an hour, but even then, they would make contact with the lead enemy units on teh shoreline in just over two hours

Your affliliations with the EVIL organisation were the reason. Your offering of base rights to the nations of EVIL this was the caus belli for our preemptive advance onto your airfield to ensure that EVIL can not pose a threat to Clandonian and Coalition military and civillian assets.

With the news of the events in Naasha filtering through to the front lines in the North. The orders for the move out of eight Clandonian divisions to join the Spizanian forces in their attack, 160,000 Clandonian forces from the 2nd Army Group moved out with their 2000 M-55 Black Tiger tanks and 3000 Stryker IFV's with a further 4000 Range Rover's. They were around 100 miles from the Kroandonian forces a similar distance as the Spizanians so they would begin their attack almost at the same time. Overwelming the Kroandonians with quick speeds could result in a shortening of the war, they had prepared for heavy losses possibly with medical evacuation and treatement on the ships and flights back Clandonia for the worst injured.

It was pesimistic as the divisions set off, across the ice shelf, full of pride and armed to the teeth. The fight was on...

Naasha fails to understand how Clandonia Prime is in a position to make threats against it, when Clandonia has been the only aggressor in the conflict up to this point in time.

Furthermore, we feel our sovereignty has been grossly violated, Naasha can provide basing rights to whoever we wish, and it is not your place to stop us, furthermore, we intend to fully regulate the E.V.I.L troops on our soil, with intent to remove them immediately if unwarranted hostile actions were taken.

Naasha feels confident in calling your bluff, as we are perfectly allowed to use whatever force we deem necessary to remove your forces from our soil and are confident of complete international support in doing this. Therefore we repeat our offer, release our servicemen immediately and refrain from damaging Naashan equipment and your forces may be airlifted home unharmed. If you fail to comply then we will authorise the UNNS to begin offensive operations to remove your men.

To Carbandia, we appreciate your offer of support, Clandonia Prime has proved a severe nuisance in the past and hopefully your nation's influence will help in resolving this conflict peacefully. If Clandonia declines our offer and we are forced to begin offensive operations then we would gladly accept your offer of the 2nd Corps assistance. We will notify you if this becomes the case.

Naasha provides ONLY the Samka airbase and lodgings for up to five thousand personnel to E.V.I.L forces.

Naasha attempts to ensure that these forces are used only in the Kroandan theatre, and NEVER in a first strike capacity against Nova Europa, or other nation's forces based in Nova Europa.

Naasha reserves the right to request these forces removed if the war threatens to escalate and involve our nation further.

Clandonia removes it's current forces on Naashan soil by the end of the day.

Clandonia pays restitution for ANY damage caused by it's forces to Naashan equipment on the airbase.

After capturing the Naashan officials during the last war, his entire company had gotten promotions and the Cross of Valor. He went from Major to Lieutenant Colonel for putting out a fire on the RES Avatar when it had been hit by Griffincrest anti-ship missiles.

The carrier RES Chimaera and the battleship RES Scylla steamed out of the harbor an hour later, followed by various cruisers, destroyers, frigates, and submarines. The new Doujin-class dreadnought Obversaria trudged out of their way as they cleared the rocky entrance, heading, for the second time, for Naasha.

We will agree to these points in an attempt to halt the further enlargement of the war. However, we feel that your moral values are some what lax, Clandonia, Cravan and No Endorse recieved were attacked with nuclear weapons by an EVIL affliliated member which was the caus belli for this operation. Millions died, including 300,000 Clandonian civillians because of our actions in liberating British Londinium who was a principle member of the EVIL alliance. A nation where children were banned, people put in blenders and the lands were ruled by a tyanical leader who commited countless human right violations.

Your allowing of EVIL personal into your nation will result in the fact that nations of the sort of EVIL will likely ignore the point of not striking Nova Europa and we fear for those in Dartia who has bravely decided to join the coalition in its efforts.

Naasha in no way condones the alleged actions of the E.V.I.L alliance bloc, but neither is it in our interest to allow our neighbours to be invaded on the basis of their political alleigances.

Future contact with the E.V.I.L bloc will be handled in a manner befitting such nations, provided these allegations are proven, but at the moment we find this solution to be the simplest answer to our problems.

We are pleased that the Clandonian forces will be withdrawn from our soil, but we feel it necessary to warn you that such acts should not be attempted so frivolously in the first place, and will not be viewed so lightly next time.

IR and RADAR Reports picked up the Spizanian Advance around the 100 mile mark, and began unleashing the defenses they had been setting up since the enemies departure. The trench lines were solid, rebuilt in the areas which had been hit with Coastal Bombardment, reinforced with all variations of barricades and sand... frozen dirt bags. Over 10,000 Kraken II MBT's were dug in along the line, placed in highly fortified pill box type fortifications, perfectly blended into the enviroment as only their white barrels emerged from the frozen dirty and ice mounds before it. Machine gun nests, fox holes, tench lines... the defensive line itself was well adapted to it's position, it would take a force indeed to remove them.

As the Spizanian Clandonian Advance was marked by the inch. There were roughly six hundred scouts 30-40 miles ahead of the the front, armed with sniper rifles, and land mines, which were currently being rushed to their positions. Land mines were being deployed in the thousands, with as many anti-personel devices as anti-vehicle mines being laid. Humvees sped about, dropping off mines and scouts alike, in order to prepare for the long awaited Spizanian assault.

The Spizanians continued their advance, past the 100 miles mark... much to the satisfaction of the Kroandans. As the first vehicles passed the 85 Mile Mark, 85 Miles from the shore, a volley like no other seen in Nova Europa opened up... one that shook the ground itself. 7,462 C-24 Big Guns opened up, firing a massive volley of high explosive artillery rounds into the distance. The 300mm Shells flew through the frigid air, initiating their self propullsion around half way, hurling them all the way to their marks. The explosions were enormous, the size of small buildings, not only did flaming shrapenal fly into the distance, large chunks of jagged ice flew in all directions. The explosions were simply devestating, to say the least. However their 'bangs' were not the end of the enemies trouble. The terrain was already tough, with several feet of snow on the ground, and winds blowing it all about. However now, there were massive ice craters, several feet deep and even more around. Once a vehicle went in, it was not driving itself out, it would simply slid around a bit... and seeing as visibility was very low for advancing troops, falling in was a definite possibility. The ammunition stock piles were high, with massive build ups in ammo since the begining of the invasion. This would be a long day.

However they were not alone, as over 4,100 MLRS M270's sat in place, waiting for the enemy to come within 70km's, at which time they would unload a dozen rockets each, blanketing the landscape in highly explosive submunitions, blowing anything in the open back to hell. Alongside and intertwined were damn near 6,000 C-37 Mountain Breakers which would unload highly explosive self-propelled 155mm munitions the minute the first wave came within 60km's. However arguably the most devestating wave was from the inumerable G-24 Strikers. Some 9,000 in all, they were capable of firing near ten Twister Land-to-Land Hit-to-Kill Missiles each, at a distance of some 79 miles, however a more conservative position was taken, and only 8,000 missiles rocketed forward in the initial bombardment, each locked onto a seperate vehicle across the front. All of these attacks were to begin when enemy forces came within range, the first being when enemy forces were within 80miles of the shore.

490,000 men across the front prepared for the day they had waited for since the begining.

Due to an agreement recently put into place with Clandonia Prime, we are going to have to restrict the deployment of E.V.I.L. forces in Naasha to the Regional Airbase at Samka, and to a maximum of five thousand personnel. Naashan ports will still be open to E.V.I.L. vessels operating in the theatre, but we suggest that the airbase be used for refuelling or a base for strike squadrons, rather than staging grounds for a ground assault, as this puts considerable strain on our relationships with our neighbours.

On the orders to assist their land based comrades naval forces brought round their missile systems and began to fire over 2000 missiles from the surface fleet and another 3000 from the submarine forces. With targetting nearly forgotten they just aimed for where the shells were comming from in the aim of taking down the heavy guns of the Kroandonian army. With the flurry of Tomahawk missiles sent over it was an amazing sight to see the massive vapour trails as the missiles went to their target.

Smaller AS-90 and MLRS batterys their numbers less than 1000 opened up in the attempt to create a creaping bombardment based on nearly ancient Clandonian military tactics, as the numbers of Clandonian casualites started to appear, the Clandonian officers knew this would be a costly attack.

Mornov smiled as the ground above him shook, a Clandonian MLRS Rocket slamming into the thick, frozen ground above his bunker. He needed no casualty reports, sucess was branded in his mind, anything else was simply not possible. His forces had dug in to the point of fixation, the artillery pieces were pre-set, ready to fire and perfectly calm, he could only imagine the state of the enemy. They were attempting to return fire against a well fortified enemy, on the move, in some of the worst weather on the planet. They did not have precise targets, and if they did, they had little time to aim at them. They had to continue an advance while fighting, the Kroandans merely had to load shells and fire away. But best of all, Mornov had more guns. However there was one thing that brought a true smile to the Commisar's face... the notion that his ammunition stockpiles were still astoundingly high... the enemy, they would run low, and when they did, blood would dye the ice.

As he trudged out into the bitter cold ground, pieces of dirt and snow flew up against him, as he tightened his winter coat, peering down the massive line of military installations. Shells burst all around as Legionnaires dropped to the ground, taking cover. "Sir! Get down!", shouted one of the Generals Guards as he took cover behind a mound of snow. "Now why would I do that soldier? I have a perfectly good view right here.", responded the man, blood trickling down his forehead from a piece of rock that had cut him in the last explosion. He could only watch in amazement as SDCI-3 Missile Pods streamed off, firing thousands of missiles into the air at the oncoming Tomahawks. Using their advanced IR and LADAR Targeting Systems, it was like a fireworks celebration as screeching rockets illuminated the snow filled atmosphere, scores of Tomahawks exploded overhead. For each of the Clandonian Tomahawk/MLRS Rocket fired, near two SDCI-3's were let loose, meaning that most of the enemy rockets blew long before they reached the line. There was a last line of defence in CIWS Turrets, set up across defences. Singing out in perfect unison streams of DU rounds knocked down missiles just meters from Kroandan lines. Less than thirty Tomahawks hit across the line, but they did wonders in making this fight 'more real'. Scores laid dead, the screams of wounded sprang out in various locations as falling snow snuffed out fires. Artillery shells, though not very well aimed, caused damage across the lines, but due to the elaborate defences, dig-ins, trenches, bunkers and pill boxes, casualties were moderately light.

The Kroandan High Command was not to 'give' the enemy any breathing room. The bombardment only intensified with the enemy firing... a feat that may very well have seemed immpossible.

Commodore James Salvatore was no longer in carge of the IES Chimaeraand the 1st Task Force. Now, as an Admiral, he commanded the 2nd Surface Fleet in the dreadnought IES Excursius, which was currently making sure that nobody got to close to Ezaltia.
His replacement, Commodore Adrian Cariveaux, sipped from a cup of iced tea as he watched a two-seater F/A-501A Blizzard rocket off the deck of the Chimaera. The white beaches of Naasha could be seen in the distance, contrasting sharply, but beautifully, to the deep blue ocean. The windows of the carrier's island had been opened, letting the warm breeze float inside. Cariveaux had been jealous of the Naashan weather the moment he saw the mainland. In Ezaltia, the hottest it ever got was maybe 75 degress Fahrenheit in the summer.
It would be nice to spend more time here, he thought, tossing his Styrofoam cup in the wastebasket.

Clandonian Attack Wave

With the reports coming in already, hundreads dead and thousands wounded the order was given to retreat until a regroup could be done. As the dead were piled up into the backs of Range Rovers and Bedford trucks. Men screaming in pain, many would die even with emergency field medicine due the injuries inflicted. Many with shrapnel wounds from the huge shells which had been lobbed in the direction of the Clandonian advance.

With the messages of the battle reports being relayed to the homeland the shock and disgust on the government. As the reports managed to leak on to the media networks, CNN reported figures at around 1 am of over 2000 Clandonian dead and 7600 injured. With the government trying desperatly to find out what the hell was happening the given order of retreat was sent via SATCOM. The President was informed and had left the Clandonian Palace to proceed to an emergency briefing on the latest attack. Many in the government of the oposition called for a Clandonian retreat from the war against EVIL and to reject the Sovereign League and ACTO. Other more right wing elements called for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons against the Kroandonian forces in an effort to destroy them.

With the retreat of the Clandonian forces several hundread vehicles had been lost, damaged or destroyed in the failled attack. The plan was now drawn for what to do next, continue and try again or fall back and let the Spizanians handle the fight alone. Serious consultations would need to be made to decide, but public opinion as ordinary citizens and the famalies of those killed woke up to hear the news of the war to the east which so far had not touched their lives.

If there was one thing Kroandans knew... it was propoganda. And another, was that people hated casualties. Mixing them together was quite an effective solution to most problems.

With the war against Emperor Nero now called off due the disaster in Kroando and the broadcast of the message many a Clandonian wondered why their government had dragged them into a war on such epic proportions. A meeting was called late Saturday for the discusion of the latest events, particurly Naasha and the Nova Europan comments on the Clandonian preemptive strike.

'Mr President, the situtation as it currently stands is our fleet is here, the Ezaltian task force is here. Only 30 miles North of our main fleet. I advise we move out a few of our attack submarines from Adminral Dintronich's fleet to shadow the enemy forces.'

'Permision granted Admiral, raise our Nova Europan alert status. Our inteligence suggests some of them don't like us and we have a lot of equipment there. If they do strike I authorise the use of whatever force needs to be dealt onto the fools.'


Out at sea the Clandonian Dintronich fleet, four Astute SSN's, ten Typhoon-Dankseran SSNK's and two battlesub of the Super-Danskeran class drifted into their optimal travel depths to the short distance to engage the Ezaltian's in a mock submarine attack, backed by the powerful Clandonian navy they wouldn't dare attack any Clandonian assets.

IC: Lieutenant Ian McGunn, the sonar operator aboard the destroyer IES Orielle, was the first to notice the submarines shadowing the task force. He quickly relayed this information to the Chimaera, which immediately notified all ships in the area. The ASW frigate Artemis Moonraven turned around as the Chimaera began launching a squadron of F/A-501A Blizzards. Four Ticonderoga-class cruisers and four Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, including the Orielle, joined the Moonraven as it steamed towards the enem submarines, all of them arming their weapons as a single message was relayed:

"Clandonian submarines, surface and be identified. You shall be fired upon if you do not comply."

The Clandonian submarines were rigged for battle after the warning and on the carriers the Clandonian fleet air wings were deployed, sixteen Harrier GR9's were ordered to fly toot sweet to observe the Ezaltian ships who were now moving into intercept the submarines in a deadly cat and mouse game.

Naasha's fleets (man how good does that sound? :D ) meanwhile, were currently at anchor in Vogrost and Samka, taking on the final provisions that could keep them at sea for months if necessary.

Captain Mark Banks of the NNS Valiance stared back across the calm waters of the bay to where the sister ship to his own Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, the NNS Undaunted lay at anchor. The vast amount of firepower spread between the two ships, along with the rest of the fleet felt alien to him.

For a navy like Naasha's, this upgrade from ten Crow Class coastal patrol frigates to two full Carrier Strike Groups was a monumental change. It was obvious everywhere, from the chaos below him on the flight deck, where clumsy new hands attempted to stow unfamiliar hardware to the slight list of the NNS Pride of Surdun, where poor organisation had stowed almost all of the heavier cargo on the port side.

Sure they had a fleet, and some serious firepower, but the Naashan Navy was going to have to learn some serious lessons before it represented anything near combat ready.

Early the next day, NNS Pride of Naasha, one of the two lumbering Dauntless Class Battleships, led the 1st Carrier Strike Group out into the Ionian Sea. There, they turned north and toward the Adriatic to begin the first of many training exercises required to get the fleet ready for battle.

Commodore Cariveaux peered at the sonar screen, watching the sixteen blips move steadily behind the Ezaltian task force. "It doesn't look like they're attacking..what the hell are they up to?

The twelve F/A-501A Blizzards flew steadily above the task force, noticing the launches from the Clandonian carriers. Each carried 6 AIM-120C-5 missiles in their internal bay, 4 AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and 6 700-pound depth charges. Their dual 30-mm cannons were loaded with explosive tracers, as usual, although modern dogfights rarely used guns.

Lieutenant Commander Charles Whitney flew in the lead Blizzard, his RIO, Lieutenant George Wallace, monitoring the Blizzard's massive radar and weapons systems. They watched as the Harriers approached, their missile bays dropping open to reveal the sleek shapes of the missiles. Nody had fird yet, but in the back of his mind, Whtney somehow knew there would be bloodshed before the day was done.

The submarines continued their mock attack move, gliding around the enemy ships, simulations delivering mock torpedoes and anti-air missiles. The Ezaltians would wonder what they hell was going on but if this was real, their ships would be burning oily, wrecks in the water.

Admiral Nathaniel Green took in a slow, calculated breath before speaking. "Bring us about and head south, put the package into a column formation with Undaunted ahead of us. We'll halt a little way away from the two and see if some added muscle will drive the Clandonians off."

"Aye sir!" Captain Mark Banks strode away toward the Operations Room, muttering something about hoping the Clandonians didn't call the bluff.

Nathaniel turned to a radio operator and spoke quietly. "And get in contact with the Ezaltians as soon as you can, we don't want to get shot by mistake."

Andrei wasn't liking the reports on War. Kroando is the north was doing well, keeping their enemies on the Ice Shelf. Kroando seemed to be firmly in control of their destiny. It was what was happening in the south that disturbed him Clandonia was beginning operations near Naasha. Naasha never like Clandonia and vice versa. Also Naasha supported the E.V.I.L. alliance, which Clandonia didn't. What was worse was that the Ezaltians were making counter-manuevers against Clandonia to assist Naasha. Still, the situation looked grim.

But, there was always the Royal Granatian Air-Force and Navy. But the Air-Force could make it to Naasha in just over 4 Hours. The Navy could use the Nor Nuin Giliath canal and make it's way to Naasha. A plan was forming in his head, a plan which could stabilize the south. He quickly wrote up two letters, one two Naasha and one to Nor Nuin Giliath.

Your information is correct on the situation with Clandonia occuring on Naasha's coast. Your offer of assistance is gratefully accepted, although currently it is Ezaltian warships that are involved with the Clandonian fleet. Your fighter squadrons may be deployed to Naval Command HQ, which contains an airbase, on Naasha's west coast to the north of Vogrost.

Your fleet will also be welcomed, however the relatively narrow straits between Naasha and Dartia are constraining both side's forces at present. I advise that the 1st Granatian Expeditionary Fleet deploy in the Adriatic, within striking distance of the Clandonians but not close enough as to overcrowd what has already become a cramped area.

"Well, since you were asleep we beefed up our military. Plus eastern Kroando is just above us." The midget stated with a smile. He could see that his leader was finally going to do something that would bring them out of their isolated state. "I'm not sure about what we can spare, but I’ll get the Highest Kwon, (Military Monk) Jordan Philips." The midget then exited getting Highest Kwon, Philips.

HK Philips entered, with a smile on his face and his pristine camo-coloured toga draping down to his feet, exposing just the front of his toes. "Sire, you called for me?" As he said this he bowed.

"Of course." Ciao said annoyed, they had even changed his generals. "What's our military capability to support Kroando?"

"We have three corps ready, about four-hundred fifty thousand troops, all armed with the HK-41. We also upgraded to the HUMVEEs and T-90's while you were gone. And all our Su-34's were scarped for the Su-37 All-Weather fighter." HK Philips said proudly.

"Are those the troops were are able to deploy?" Ciao said with a slight irritation at how much had been changed but he was a practical man and accepted change easily.

"Yes, sire."

"Then deploy them." Ciao said without hesitation.

Soon the four hundred fifty thousand troops and support moved into Eastern Kroando awaiting orders.

Message to Kroando:
We are moving in troops to your eastern part, where do you need them?

Today we are now supporting our brothers by sending several hundred thousand forced workers to help the nation of Kroando to fight this war. We are not joining in this war yet.

The four hundred fifty thousand troops were all dressed in nearly a dozen layers of clothes to brace the harsh weather. Their guns were coated with a frost-resistant material as where their vehicles. Their food was heated up via flares most of the time, and sometimes the matches on hand, along with stock piles of wood from the base. The troops marched towards the Spizania front, all in warm, frost-resistant personnel carriers. All the tanks had been armed with three fourth DU rounds and one forth HEAT rounds. The 80mm mortars and his artillery were equipped with mostly grapeshot round and HE rounds. APC's had Tungston-tipped rounds for their NPC's and they were equipped with infared gear. HK Philips had supplied his troops with everything they needed.

The EVIL war was dying out. The Burnisian Desert was defeated. New Albor was defeated. The Church of the Nine was about to be defeated. In short, Allanea could now free up some forces towards dealing with this particular war. And so, the First Force Projection Fleet, the Second Haven Domination Fleet, the Fifth and Sixth Haven Domination Fleet were all on the move. Hundreds of ships, tons of steel, dozens of combat submarines moved out of the Haven region and where on their way towards Kroando.

Happily, their first strike could be launched far, far away from the enemy. They were still over seven thousand kilometers away from Kroando when the missile launch was ordered – launched from separate ships were 1,000 Khan missiles (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Khan_Class_Missile). In a single brilliant trace of fire they rose from the Allanean ships, streaking out into low orbit, then descending and attacking targets throughout Kroando like sea-skimmers from Hell.

They were aimed at anti-air facilities and runways – these things that could be seen by orbiting sattelites. Where Allanean sattelites could not reach, information from allied and commercial photography sattelites was procured and used for better targeting.

And in the meanwhile, another attack was prepared.

It would remain to be seen what it was – but for now let us just remember that the fleets were moving at top speed towards Kroando.

Half of the divisions SPHs and Rocketry were dug in at the launch point, ready to provide covering fire while the other half rushed forward behind the front line and set up 20 miles away, they would then cover the advance while the other artillery raced forward and set up 20 miles beyond them, the artillery could make 60 miles an hour, so the advance was held to about 45 miles an hour, but even then, they would make contact with the lead enemy units on teh shoreline in just over two hours

Half of the divisions SPHs and Rocketry were dug in at the launch point, ready to provide covering fire while the other half rushed forward behind the front line and set up 20 miles away, they would then cover the advance while the other artillery raced forward and set up 20 miles beyond them, the artillery could make 60 miles an hour, so the advance was held to about 45 miles an hour, but even then, they would make contact with the lead enemy units on teh shoreline in just over two hours

The bolded points show that this is stating the battleplan that goes into effect once the plan is begun, but the qualifier "ready to" turns the whole statement into one of intentions, not of actions
