The idealic town of Foster Creek, Massachusetts is one of those towns where eyeryone knows everyone. Business is good, the schools are good, and it feels like a rustic home when you enter the town. Trees line the main street and in fall it looks splendid. The citizens hold parades, there are various clubs,a dn everyone seems to live in peace. The mayor is a friendly man who easily won reelection. The town council was filled with concerned and caring people, important to the community. And crime was almost non-existant; however, all that has just changed. A lovely young woman disappears. After exhausted searches they turn up nothing and the search is called off. The town grieved the loss this woman who was well known and respected in the community. Her sister, however; believed tgar there was something more to it that that. After the investigation was terminated she decided to enlist the help of a private investigator to helkp her find the truth to her sister's diappearence. The farther they dig they become entangled in a web of lies a deciet as they discover an explosive secret which some people will kill to keep it safe. Will the truth be discovered? Or will more people disappear?

History: Amherst grew up in an Irish neighborhood in Boston. There, he lived a rough life in a poor family; however, he worked hard to make something out of his life. In high school he was on the football team and studied diligently. In college, he earned a degree in criminal investigations, he was the first in his family to go to college. He always desired to be a police officer, like his father. So, after graduating the academy he had a promising career ahead of him until one fateful night that changed his life forever. After that night his life spiraled downwards, his wife divorced him and remarried, taking their young daughter. Amherst suffered from depression and alcoholism. Three years ago he tried to commit suicide but the round in the chamber was a dud and misfired. This altered his life once again and he's been on the slow and painful road to recovery. He started his own private investigations company which became a descent success. Deep down inside he's a good man but a tortured one at that. His past demons are numerous and omnipresent as he struggles to redemn himself.

But he soon became entangled in a scandal after it was found the election was fixed. Still he's no stranger to consipracy and cover up. Being a Yale Graduate, and a high ranking member of the Skull and Bones Society he's knows the meaning of coverup

History: Dan moved to Foster Creek after graduating from Tufts University. A business major, he decided to open a sporting goods store in the town. The store has seen moderate success, and Dan lives a comfortable life in a two-story house with his girlfriend of 5 years. He really hopes she doesn't disappear. (hint hint)

He worked at various places until the sole police officer died. Craig took the job and has had it easy since, until the recent murder.

History: Clive come's from a British heritage. He was born in Foster Creek in '62 at the local hospital. He grew up in a normal family and had a good childhood. He served in Panama and Grenada recieved two Purple Hearts in the process. He came back to Foster Creek in '95 from Boston after the death of his parents in a car accident. He inherited the Winchester bar in town and the house above it from his parents as well as a flashy Rolls Royce. The bar is his life. Through his line of work he here's a lot of stories from the townspeople so he's usually in the know. the bar is adorned with a collection of Winchester Rifle's and Shotguns. He keeps a semi-auto 12G under the bar register should anyone get too unruly.

(Sorry it's kinda vague, I've had a bit of writer's block lately)

John is a good hearted, brave, people person who enjoys helping everyone in his community to the best of his ability. He is very resoruceful and loves his job alot, not alot goes on in the small town in Massachusetts, everyone knows everybody and it's a pretty easy going enviroment.

John has three younger brothers and two sisters that live at home with his mother and father.

Great! Now we have enough players to start up, though new people are always welcomed. I might change the name of the rp to "The Crow's Shadow" or something like that. I'm not sure if the pupeteer is a good one or not.

Does anyone have a more suitable title for this rp. The two I thought of are alright but I'd like some feedback and suggestions.

zymphrumple op cargh, a name he gave himself, because he didn't like the one his parents gave him.

organic farmer. lives about ten miles out of town.
sells his produce at the local weekly downtown flea market

keeps goats for milk and chickens for eggs, mostly for himself and a few neighbors. grows mostly fruits and vegitables.

bit of an eccentric. flys his own flag but abides by local, state and federal laws.
well ok mostly. so he grows a little 'herb' on the side. who doesn't?

builds little trains just big enough to ride on too.
neighbors occasional complain about the pile of used appliances, lawn mowers, golf carts, et c. he collects for parts to make them out of.

gets his power from windmills on the one little hill on his place and solar panels on the roof of his no longer entirely code house, which was built before codes were adopted, and long before he himself was born.

parents moved here when he was three, from half way accross the country. but he's been living here ever since. mostly keeps to himself.

some people don't trust him because of that. but he's a likable enough fellow once you get to know him.

and he does have friends. mostly that share his many interests.
one is on the town council and another, who shares his love of small trains, (while deploring his long hair and generaly anti-establishment demeanor) on the force. those who know him well know him to be of a harmless and generous nature.

though others who know him less well have suspected him of harbouring run-aways and perhapse somewhat moraly more questionable activities.

he also grows high quality bamboo which he sells to local acoustical instument makers.

For what its worth, it would be interesting if the killer or anyone else involved visited the priest in the confessional. He won't say anything he is told, and whatever is told to him is inadmissible in court.

Hmm...your priest will play a larger role as the story evolves. At first it seems like a clear and cut disappearence, then it turns into something more. Something that a priest would have more of a handle on. Someone may come confessing, we'll see. I never said Laura is killed...did I?

ok DEA call's for SWAT to back them up in a raid

raid goes down but some thing's go missing,which late are found to have been taken by Jack's partener,

other people are called in to look over the team to see if they are apart of something,

Jack was find not to be part of it and was sent to this town
the case is under wraps with just a hand fall of people know's of it

and he may have all so been sent to keep some one or some thing safe too

To put your wonders on at least one thing to rest: The time on the watch might have something to do when she disappears. That is 3:12 in the morning.

Other than that...I'm not gonna tell!:p

Just to give a heads up: When Laura disappears, Dan will be a prime suspect. Of course, nothing will ever be proven and Laura won't be found. Her sister (to be named later) believes that Dan is responsible and enlists my character to do some spying on Dan. But, the further he digs the more complicated the story becomes. It won't be such a cut and dry "who done it?" and will become something else.

I really put some thought into this one;)

hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posting, I didn't realize the RP thread was up untill yesterday. Well anyway, I'm still in, just also wanted to know if anyone would join another mystery RP I'm going to start.

Yeah, but that would probably be the job of the local police. I don't think a person from the SWAT is really not a good character for this thread.

If he can find a place where the character can fit in then he can have him. If it doesn't work out, his character can be another local cop.

Damn, I just thought of another title for the rp...Hmm...maybe I can save it if there needs to be a second part to the story.

I had a stroke of inspiration today. Seeing how I have the weekend off I began to plot and conspire some more stories. If this rp turns into a success then I'll have another story waiting. So far I thought up the plot for two other stories which are connected to this story but completely different.

If you can give a good story for him to be there, then go ahead. But if you can't think of a good reason, then you'll have to make another character.
