Special Action Division Training Camp, West Skgorria
The troops of Special Action Division waited for the Royal Intervention Force to arrive. After the success they had training the Praetorian Guard of British Londinium, they were eager to see what they could do with the Baronstein troops...

Just as the sun rose the Kingdoms troops began filing into the massive Congresshalle. Looking sharp in their black dress uniforms and their medals gleaming in the new days sun, they began to assemble by rank.
Group by group they stood silent with perfect balance, from lowly Untersturmführers to Generalfeldmarschal Ewald von Kleist himself, eager to be trained.
At the order of the GenFM they saluted in unison. Ewald slowly approached the commanding officer and awaited his orders.

Storm-General Beckenbauer stood before them. Saluting in the traditional Skgorrian manner, he then spoke.
"I am Storm-General Beckenbauer, and I have been fighting the Jews and other filth for decades. I orchestrated the abduction of thousands from a small island nation to fuel our economy, I ordered thousands of blacks to march across a minefield to clear the way for our troops during the Atopian Coup and I declared an entire country a free-fire zone. I could stand here all day telling you what I have done, but know this: to succeed you will need utter force of will. Pity, remorse, mercy...these are all things not fitting of the New Man. If any of you feel that you wish to step out now then do so."

One of the younger officers turned and started to walk, "Soldier!" yelled Ewald." The young man turned, and Ewald promptly fired 3 rounds into his chest.
"What a waste." he mumbled. "Any other takers!?"
The remaining soldiers stood perfectly still, some even let out a small snicker.

Several Special Action Division men and women cheered at the execution before Beckenbauer waved his hand for them to be silent.
"Excellent!" he praised the Baronstein troops, "you show resolve and dedication. Now before we get started I need to know how many of you there are, and your formations."
(OOC: what I'm asking for is a breakdown of your troops - for example, did you bring mechanised infantry and if so, how many? This will help me develop a decent training program for you. Also what are the adjectives for your nation. I cant work it out, I must just be thick :p)

Ewald replied, "As you suggested, we have only officers with us at this point. We have officers of all types. Mainly Special operations infantry officers at 50,000, we have some officers from the mechanized divisions numbering 25,000, communications divisions numbering 10,000, and lastly those from the psychological warfare division numbering 15,000. We have no tanks with us at this time, they will be coming along with the enlisted troops and NCOs when it is their time for training."
OOC: What do you mean by adjectives?

Field Marshal Crompton, of the Britannic Commonwealth's Prætorian Guard, walked into the training camp, with six of his soldiers. Approaching Storm-General Beckenbauer, he performed the traditional Skgorrian salute, as a courtesy.
"Storm-General," he said. "I thought we Londinians could add to the Bartonstian [whatever] training experience."

"Crompton you old devil!" Beckenbauer beamed, returning the salute and offering the Field Marshall his hand. "Your help is always appreciated friend, I was about to give them the 2k shanty town scenario. It's in the same place where it was when you did it, perhaps your men could attach themselves to 6 of the company commanders and help them along." He then turned to adress the Bartonstein forces,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a shanty town outside of these gates with 2,000 POWs and political prisoners. It's roughly ten kilometres away. I want them dead. Go."
OOC: Please give a nice detailed description of your slaughter so me and BL can comment and suggest improvements, plus give praise where praise is due :)

Realizing that there is no need to tire out all of the troops Ewald orders 90% of them to stay back.
Receiving word that a convoy of 18 wheelers would be coming down the highway which they were marching on, he ordered his men to to form a human barricade and stop them.
With the majority of the men hiding in the brush, the 20 trucks stop, not thinking anything of it.
The soldiers stand up force the drivers out and promply slit their throats in order to conserve ammunition. They unload the trucks and pack the highest ranking officers in, the rest being forced to march.
They feel no need to go in covertly as their number would easily overwhelm the prisoners. Half of the troops heading in on the main road, and the other half securing a perimeter, they begin the onslaught.
Seeing the the POWs were all men, Ewald realized that this would be a little bit less fun than he had thought.
Telling the prisoners that they were there to rescue them, roughly half of them followed the soldiers willingly to a mass grave that was stumbled upon by a few of the soldiers securing the perimiter. They were forced in and riddled with machine gun fire.
Upon hearing the gunfire, the remaining prisoners in the town broke line and attempted to retaliate. This was quelled by the overwhelming number of RIF forces.
The prisoners were forced into lines and fired at, in order to conserve ammunition. The bodies were loaded into the trucks and carted off to the pre-dug pit. Stragglers were caught by the perimeter guard and strangled, stabbed or shot.
The soldiers marched back to the Congresshalle largely unaffected, and returned to their lines.

Storm-General Beckenbauer smiled at the return of the Bartonstein forces.
"Excellent work, it's a good start. I'm impressed at your accquistion of the trucks, though hopefully you'll normally be supplied with your own APCs for transport." He saluted the troops for their efforts before continuing,
"Now if I understand things, you sent a column into the settlement at the same time as you were trying to secure a perimeter: don't do that again. Perimeter first, then you advance in. Can anyone tell me why?"

A young officer raised his hand, "So that those who are forced out of the camp would be pushed into a rigid line of defense, rather than a jumbled mess of unprepared troops?"

"Correct young man, that is indeed one of the reasons why a perimeter is important. Experience has shown it is much harder for targets to escape a ring of steel than a hastily thrown-together line. If your troops have also been on a long march, it will give them time to rest and recuperate before the fun starts. In addition, a perimeter is absolutely essential for security. If anyone comes to rescue the pathetics that you are trying to exterminate, you don't want to get caught with your metaphorical pants down, do you?" Beckenabuer paused, letting his words sink in. He was impressed with the Bartonstein troops, they seemed very capable.
"Now bear in mind what your officer said here about rigid lines," Beckenabuer pointed to the officer who had answered his question, "I would like you to answer me this: you are now lined up in your nice circular formation around the target. You have ensured that nothing is getting in or out that you do not want to, in what formation should you advance on the target?"
Bartonstein
29-12-2006, 22:40
"Would that be a wedge formation?", another young man replied.
Skgorria
29-12-2006, 23:37
"No! You have them surrounded on all sides, why bother with a wedge? Why not simply form another ring and advance, slowly contracting as you advance on the enemy? Unless of course, you think the wedge is better and you can tell me why," Beckenabuer asked as he raised an eyebrow.
Bartonstein

"Well sir, I believe that if you have a very strong perimeter the wedge formation would force them into the hands of that perimeter, allowing the surrounding forces to constrict and quickly wrangle up the enemy.", the officer replied.
"Like herding cattle." another officer said with a smirk.
