The two nations, Jurrod and Hecktopia were always close trade partners. They've been trading valuable goods for over 200 years, and just recently they created the first United Trade Federation (UTF). They were the founding members, but they have grown over the years. The purpse of the UTF was to have unlimited trade between members nations and even violate other nations borders. Often they had problems with non-member nations, so they grew their own, united army, from troops from every nation.


Recently several countries used Mandrivian highways and airspace to get to other UTF nations. The governement did not allow this, and told the UTF to back off. They had no intentions of doing so, and negotiations didn't work. so Mandrivia put troops and fighters near its borders. They backed off a little after they did this, but soon they came back in full force. a Soon it was discovered that Mandrivian goods were being traded, without the permmision of the Dominion government. They were stolen straight out of their own deposits and factories, and Legate Somerville nor his government stood for this. They demanded for their goods back, and to stay several KM away from Mandrivian borders.

The UTF thought they had every right to do what they want, so they continued their actions. Mandrivian troops started several skirmishes with United Trade Federation Army, and both members were outraged. The skirmesh became much more in plently, and soon there were all-out battles. Negotiation and diplomacy resumed, but tensions grew higher, and there was a cold war of sorts. It lasted for about a month, and the the UTF officially declared war on Mandrivia. The armed forces mobilized, and got ready to fight.


The Dominion of Mandrivia calls for help. You can join us, or join the UTF. How it works is:
post a small rp of a battle or negotiation. The other side then posts what happened on their side. Be realistic, don't do anything stupid (like have no casualties at all)

The rules:

-No nuclear weopons
-if you want to play, state if you want to join, and which side.

Official Declaration of War on the United Trade Federation

The United Trade Federation has gone too far. The Mandrivian nation helped us in our cause against the Bron Tribes we will not stand idly by while the Mandrivia borders are misused. This is our official declaration of war.

As allies of the Mandrivia nation we would like to send our 1st through 5th Armies an altogether force of 7,500 soldiers. We would also like to send a corps of armored tanks or about 100 tanks. We will also send Tiger units from our airforce. The 1st through 5th flocks or about 75 planes if given a landing strip will assist our soldiers. I am also sending 10 RENG Class Battleships to blockade the UTF's ports.

We will halt transport until we receive an official communique from Mandrivia allowing us.

I promise you, Mandrivia will not stand alone

IC: We thank you both for your help, we will be need it, as the UTF's army is large and strong. You have been given permission to land on our soil, but only on the allowed landing strips and roads.

The ambassador walked into Legate Somerville's office.
"Sir, our diplomats have returned. It appears the Trade Federation has no intention of peace. Their excuse is that no NS nation has official rights to their airspace even if they can enforce it."
"Those slimy dirtbags! Inform the media. Oh, and get our defence minister. We have to diploy our troops."
"That isn't it sir. It appears they've just attacked one of our scout planes."

OOC: We will give you some details on our borders and the geography:

Our nation is has a fairly large border. It is a circular one, touching several other nation's lands. The other half faces the ocean. Around the border, there are small pockets of inhabited and disputed lands. There is a 10 KM 'neutral zone' between Mandrivia's borders and other nations' (mostly UTF, as Mandrivia is surrounded by mostly those. This region is a desert land, but is being filled up with UTF and Allied troops alike. Although we are close to the enemy, we have advanced tactical systems that can keep their planes and most of their other troops away, but with an army that big it is unsure how it will be able to hold.

So it begins...

General Anderson smiled to the desk-bound soldier and walked out of the Office, heading back to his own, which was just down the hall. Once there, he began to type an E-mail.

Your authorisation has been recived sir, and i will make preperations for the 11th and 33rd Airborne Divisions to begin transit to Mandrivia by Air....with any luck, they should be there by the end of the week. Our numbers at that point would stand at 4,000 combat soldiers.

Further support, in the form of the 55th Armoured Division and the 82nd Motorised Infantry Division...will be ready to go once the 11th and the 33rd Airborne have arrived.

All together, this unit will be concidered the 1st Expeditionary Corps.

At this point, we have 2 divisions of troops mobile to send to your aid. Our 33rd and 11th Airborne are currently boarding air transports...they should be with you by the end of the week...the Commander of these troops, Lt. General Scott "Firefox" Graham, is one of our most distinguished commanders, but he will need to be aprised of the ground level situation.

You can rely on him to hold a wall thats about to break...i know i have.

"What News, Chris? you know I don't hear news..."

"33rd Airborne is movin out! we finally get to go kick some ass!"

IC: The week ended with a huge mobilization of Allied troops.

"Lieutenant! They've done it!" shouted a private to his lieutenant inside their tent near the border.
"Who's done what?" asked the lieutenant.
"The UTF's gone and destroyed Allorya!" Allorya was a small town near the border. it had a pop. of 3000 people and a military base.
"What?! No way!"
"Yes, they have! They came in with bombers and dropped several tons of conventional bombs on it! There's nothing left!"
"Tell our government."



Meanwhile, in an article in the New Calgary Informer ,
Several Ellorisian and other Allied troops landed on Mandrivian soil, and set up in the neutral zone and near it. The Mandrivian Armed forces continued mobiliziation, sending a further 12000 troops, 54 tanks and bombers near the neurtal zone border and inside it. There is now an estimated Allied 68500 troops there. With the annilation of Allorya, it's many dead innocent civilians and it's military base, the armed forces are expected to strike in a retalitory strike very soon. This sameful attack on civilians so far has caused an outrage among Mandrivian people, and nobody believe this attack would every occur, even during war. Meanwhile, citizens are feeling safe at home, as there are many troops dispacted in almost every Mandrivian city, along with anti-aircraft and missile guns as well as other measures. The nations leader, Legate Somerville, urged the other Allied countries do the same to protect their civilians in the same way, so as to prevent another evil attack on them.

OOC: If anybody else wants to join or switch sides, they can join the UTF. It makes things more fun.

The combined base of the 11th and 33rd Airborne was a hive of activity, right after being informed of the brutal air bombardment of Allorya... not too long after the news, Long range recon troops, mounted up in Humvees had spotted a convoy, with UTF markings...and had engaged it.

Lt. Daniels Humvees had managed to surprise the convoy, but had now become pinned down...as an un-expected surprise had shown itself! The convoy had been transporting a tank under cover, but it was fully crewed.

"Get that Gustav up here, NOW!"

The soldier with the Anti-tank weapon was pinned behind his vehicle, and couldn't move...

Another soldier quickly abliged however.

And the Aeson, there is absolutely no chance for peace until one of us surrendurs. (Trust me, I've tried) You can try if you like, though.

IC:

102 degrees east, 68 degrees north, Mandrivian neutral zone, 8:01 am

The sun was almost fully up in the eastern part of the netral zone. Assembled here in the camp was about 100 Mandrivian troops and about 20 other Gatral and Ellorisian troops. They were preparing to move out, as there was reason to believe that the UTF had found them.

"Lt. Jackeral, they've surrounded us. We'll have to fight our way out of this. We've just found that they've surrounded us and they've got a convoy or tanks and personel carriers." said a corporal to his lieutenant, who happened to be in charge of the camp. He had just left from a brief meeting with the two other allied commanding officers. Currently the corporal gave him a crudely drawn readout of where the UTF was.

"Order the whole batallion we'll be leaving at ESE. Let's see if we can escape without having to fight. There's not many of them."

about 10 minutes, later, everyone had packed and was ready to leave. The camo'd troops gathered tight around their friendly tanks, armoured vehicles, and humvees. It didn't take long for them to see the ring of the UTF convoy. No soldiers were outside of a vehicle.

Currently, one of the heavier enemy tanks had set their sights on the Allied retreatees.

"Anti-tank gunners! Target that tank and fire!" shouted Lt. Jackeral. Several soldiers carrying large missile launchers ran up near the front. But they were too late. The tank fired, taking out a portion of the forward troopers and a light personel carrier. Three other tanks fired, and brought down a couple others. By now, some of the Allied troops near the area that was hit by the tanks panicked, and some stopped their march.

"Fire! Fire now!"

The anti-tankers fired, and two of the enemy's light vehicles were destroyed. A couple more shots were exchanged, and several Mandrivian tanks were brought down, as well as more brave soldiers. The largest Mandrivian tank, the Freedom Cruisertank 16, armed with it's heavy artillery gun, and two other martar and missile launchers, broke the Trade Federation line.

"Move now, while we still can!" shouted Jackeral. Several UTF troops jumped out of the personel carriers and started firing on the allies. Many fell. Despite this, the group got past. While firing behind them, the Allies were able to keep the UTF vehicles at bay. a few minutes later they were getting to close to a Mandrivian military base. The UTF turned around and left.

Casualties:
34 Mandrivian troops
3 tanks and a humvee
21 injuries.
No Ellorisian or Gatralian deaths

I know this post was kinda jumpy, I'm working on it I hope you forgive me.

"I see." Blak stood up and walked to the balcony. Somewhere, out of sight, but within earshot, a gun battle was taking place. Blak didn't know who it was. Security forces and Keenists, as they had taken to calling themselves, perhaps. Security forces and Ehznoists was another possibility. There had always been the occasional Ehznoist diehard who would strap himself with explosives, pick up the family gun and go out to die for his beliefs, but things had picked up into an almost organizied violence since that accursed video tape.

It was even possible, he reflected that it was Keenists and Ehznoists. He sighed. Something was needed to put the nation back on it's feet. What better than a quick, brutal, bloody war, to unite all the people against a common enemy?

We find the actions of this so called United Trade Federation reprehensible. We demand an immediate withdrawl of all forces from Mandrivian territory. If this demand is not complied with, forthwith, we will take necessary action to ensure the security of Mandrivia.

The Convoy, which had been engaged the previous day...was all but destroyed, with a few prisoners taken. the UTF soldiers had spread themselves out, forcing Gatral's Paratroopers to hunt them down on the empty plains.

the 33rd Airborne could claim its first victory in this war, a small one...but useful none-the less.

The 55th Armoure and the 8nd Infantry have established a base camp 2 miles behind the UTF Neutral zone on the Mandrivian side of the border.

the 33rd and 11th Airborne are en-route to this base, to fully establish the 1st Expiditionary Corps.

In a summary of a news report in Mandrivia:

-The week ended constant bombings and attacks from both sides. The targets are mainly enemy camps and bases. It seems that ridding the Neutral zone of enemies is the top priorty of the Sovereignty Alliances's and the UTF's goals at the moment.

-It has been learned that several non-UTF nations are helping them with manufactured goods, i.e. guns, missiles, fand food. Legate Somerville has called on these nations to cease.

-The Trade Federation captured 20 Mandrivian footsoldiers near Fort Lluro. (near the neutral zone). A tank and some other equipment was taken as well. This act triggered several delegates rushing to the Jurrod Empire for their release. Yesterday, it appeared that the UTF was not willing to let them go, so the SA attacked an underground military base in a UTF where it was suspected they were being held. They killed several UTF soldiers and took more captive.

-Several UTF nations who have yet to send troops commited a couple thousand UTF troops to help.


OOC: The war is not going well so far.....

- Gatral's ground forces in the region have linked up, after being disperced due to more arrivals they are now resuming combat operations.

- The prisoners captured from Lt. Daniels raid on the UTF convoy have been handed over to the Mandrivian Military police.

- A Carrier Battlegroup has been dispatched to the warzone.


'Redemption' Base, 10km from the Mandrivian border.

Three gunships thundered over the base, heading towards the border...the UTF had managed to wreck the runway the Engineers had just set up...Again.

"Damnit, thats another pothole we have to fill in! where the hell are those Stinger's when we fricking need them."

"Hang on...there the shots go, those guys were wating for em outside!"

The month ended with vicious attacks by both sides, as the dubbed 'Trade War' has escalated. The United Trade Federation spent most of it's time firing babusha and other rockets into Mandrivian civilian areas, as well as the nearby Elloris. mandrivia responded in like kind. (With much opposition from pressure groups) The battle of Garmen was the big point of this war, with both Allied and UTF forces clashing near the Jurrod city of Garmen. It was a victory, but with over 1000 Allied losses. The UTF air force also bombed a Mandrivian base, destroying it along with a couple tanks, fighter planes and several soldiers and equipment.

With these new events in the war, the war has grown into a stalemate. Though there was some discussion between diplomats, no progress was made and the war is expected to last for another month. Several pressure groups and civilians have banded together to force Mandrivian government to escalate peace talks.
"This war could have been over weeks ago. But our government and it's allies refuse to and are eager to keep fighting even when it's not necessary. Heck, this war was over some silly, pathetic little dispute anyway." said Morgan Magh, leader of Mandrivians for Peace. Deputy minister of Defence, John Lyra, waves that away.
"We've done all we could, but the nations of the United Trade Federation won't listen. They're rich, they're big, and the're powerful, and they're going to get their way, no matter what."

FOR THE FUTURE: the Minister of Defence and his generals are planning to allocate more troops to the Mandrivia-UTF neutral zone. He is also planning to hit the UTF more hardly, with air attacks on UTF bases and camps. Legate Chris Somerville is asking his allies for more reinforcements to help prevent any kind of invasion.

Mandrivia's losses over the past month: 1178 soldiers, 3 champion-class battletanks, 4 anti-infantry vehicles, 1 humvee, 1 L-98 airbomber.
