THE DISSOCIATED PRESS (Shostakovich) - In a joint press conference with Linus and Lucy Starting Quarterback Peyton Manning, Baseball World Series Committee chairman Dominic Rhodes announced the selection of eight sites as hosts for the inaugural edition of the Baseball World Series.

Rhodes said, "These stadiums were selected not just on the basis of their athletic facilities, but also on hotel rooms, transportation access, and the level of the commitment of the surrounding metropolitan area to making the Series a success." He further noted that, depending on participation, not all sites would necessarily host games, though John Unitas Field would definitely host the championship series.

The eight sites, in no particular order, are:

John Unitas Field, in Shostakovich
Founders' Memorial Stadium, in Khachaturian
The Riverdome, in Wagner
The Linus van Pelt Bowl, in Strauss
James Stewart Stadium, in Kodaly
Solzhenitsyn Memorial Field, in Saint-Saens
Five Mountains Field, in Elgar
The Stadium on the Salt Flats, in Tchaikovsky

ABOUT THE LINUS AND LUCY BASEBALL WORLD SERIES COMMITTEE: The committee was formed by Manning after the idea was proposed to him by his wife Ashley, and consists of Rhodes, the chairman; Ricky Proehl, secretary; and five members: Fran Tarkenton, Fred Biletnikoff, Gino Marchetti, Raymond Berry, and Jack Trudeau.
