Allanean Message to Gholgoth and the Sovereign League

Official Statement from the Allanean Government

As we all know, there is now a srtrange standoff between Gholgoth and the Sovereign League, that had now gone on for way too long, and for no good reason at all. Consdering both alliances have in them advanced and liberal nations – such as Freethinkers, Doujin, and Haraki on one hand, and Questers, Praetonia, and Czardas on the other.

Even as we prepare this message to be broadcasted, politicians in both nations – politicians that make Allanean diplomats look skilled and responsible in comparison – again and again call for harsher and harsher relations between the two sides. Again and again, the nations skid closer and closer to the brink of disaster – full-out war between dozens of nations.

Fellow members of the Sovereign League, our friends the Freethinkers, honorable Freeks – what is the goddamn point?! – why have a feud like this between ancient, powerful, and responsible nations? Don't we all have better things to do? Are all true evils in this world vanquished? Is Kraven defeated yet? Has Bridgette Iesus been deposed?

And yet we are here, discussing this pointless struggle between people who should not have been at odds at all.

We call now on members of the international community to end this struggle.

We call now on our friends in the Sovereign League, ACTO, and APOC to extend a hand of peace and friendship to Gholgoth.

And we call on – no, we beg Gholgoth to accept this message of peace. Let us now end this struggle once and for all.

This is all.

May God Bless you all.

"I am Kenenth Coleman, Emperor of Crimmond. What I say here is my own opinion and is not the official response of Gholgoth. I leave that duty to Dreadfire.

"Look at the nations you list. Look at the nations of Gholgoth. Look at my own nation... it's a prime example of the kind of nations you speak of. Once member of the original GDODAD, WMNK, The Dominion, the APTO and now of Gholgoth and NATO." Kenneth pauses and a series of images appears, of Marines and naval vessels in combat. "We, the Empire, are warmongers. We have been since that faithful day that we joined the GDODAD.

"Kraven is nothing but an annoyance, much like Bisons was so long ago. Insignificant, yet vocal. This other nation you mention is so evil I had not heard of them before you spoke their name. A grave threat to the world indeed...

"I want no peace with the likes of Allaneans. Those you are allied with... those that are respectable and honorable.... perhaps we would have peace with them if the terms were right, but you will forever be looked at with disdain by the Empire."

Emperor Coleman II is correct when saying his opinion is his own and not official Gholgoth policy. In our regional brotherhood we do not tell our members what to think or say, and in this case the Emperor is well within his right to express himself freely.

The fact of the matter is this: Gholgoth does not see itself "at conflict" with the Sovereign League. Despite the rhetortic and propaganda that the "morally superiors" spew, we are not actively or passively seeking conflict with anyone. We view the Sovereign League as a non-issue.

Automagfreek's statement concerning the APOC was merely a return favor. We will not allow the Sovereign League to think that they can question our actions and intentions (the Gholgoth/GASN mutual defense pact) then think that we are going to remain silent when they take "steps" of their own. They stuck their noses in our business first, and if they think they can politically intimidate or challenge us then they are mistaken.

Gholgoth nor any of its members have engaged or instigated any hostilities towards the Sovereign League, therefore we view any "peace accord" in a strange light, since it implies that they see us at conflict with one another and therefore proves some of our suspicions. However, if the League wishes to engage in diplomatic talks about non-aggression, they are welcome to do so. However, we will no longer tolerate them slandering Gholgoth by labeling us fascists (only a few nations in Gholgoth are dictatorships), imperialists (when we do not interfere in matters that do not concern us), and other such immature names. Gholgoth is a civilized and honorable regional alliance, and we have done nothing to warrant this kind of blatant disrespect.

Only when the Sovereign League apologizes publically for their unfounded remarks and accusations will we engage in talks with them.

Official Announcement of the United States Department

We approve greatly the statements of Lord Dreadfire. However, we are ashamed to say that we do not know whether other Sovereign League states will agree to come and negotiate. Because of this, Allanea's President, Alexander Kazansky, would like to arrive in the Excessively Armed Empire of Automagfreek, to negotiate a separate peace.

We would like to underline again that Allanea had never participated in the accusations agains Automagfreek, and does not share in any 'collective responsibility for them'. We would also like to use this opportunity to request all other members of the Sovereign League to send envoys to negotiate a peace.

Regardless, even if members of the Sovereign League are not going to do the responsible thing and negotiate peace, we in Allanea are willing to do so. Once details and instructions on proper procedure are in from Automafreek, the Presidential delegation will be on it's way.

Let's do the Right Thing on this one.

We of the Triumvirate Council will agree with peacetalks with our ally Allanea and our friends in Gholgoth. We wish to accompany the Presidential Delegation and send Triumvirate Council Member, and Field Marshall of the combined Air and Space Forces, Samantha Arcturus to a peace conference.

May our peace last for eternity.

"Lets do the right thing."

"Looking at the fact I overlooked as obvious, that Gholgoth and the SL have not once fired shots in anger at one another outside the realm of politics, I have looked at the history of our interactions.

"It is quite simple... the SL does not like Gholgoth and Gholgoth was fairly indifferent to the League. The League began voicing opinions on Gholgoth and taking steps to block policies of Gholgoth in an effort to provoke us into response." He sighs. "Really... I would have expected originality. Do you expect the same tactic that put the one of the final nails in the GDODAD's coffin to work on us? If so, you need to be much more proactive about it and actually start shooting at us. Words are cheap... men and blood are not.

"If you wish war, I am sure that you will get war from Gholgoth, the same as if you wish to be mauled by a bear, you just have to throw a few large rocks at it. If, however, you wish peace... by all means, you shall get peace.

"For the record, the Empire is still fairly indifferent to the League as a whole, as there has been no great reason to become otherwise inclined."

Official Statement of the Crown Commonwealth of Praetonia

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/Praetonia/PraeMilitaryFlag.png

While His Majesty's Government welcomes Allanea's initiative for encouraging peace between the Sovereign League and Gholgoth, it is the opinion His Majesty's Government that war is neither imminent nor likely to occur in the forseeable future, and that Gholgoth does not represent a credible threat to the security of the Crown Commonwealth. Disputes in recent months have concerned the real or perceived growth of power of both groups and ideological differences between the two groups. At no point was war threatened by either party, and at no point did either party indicate that they expected war in the forseeable future.

It is the opinion of His Majesty's Government that contact with tyrannical regimes such as that of Automagfreek or Crimmond (the latter being viewed as particularly unsavoury in light of its unprompted admission to being warmongers) should be avoided unless there is some material benefit in doing otherwise, inaccordance with the general wishes of the populace of the Crown Commonwealth. In this instance we see no material gain to be had from engaging in 'peace talks', as there is no war or threat of war.

His Majesty's Government would, however, be interested in negotiating an agreement to facilitate and liberalise trade between the Crown Commonwealth and the Gholgoth powers. His Majesty anticipates that this shall not prove desireable to the more economically totalitarian Gholgoth powers, but He awaits the response of the relevent governments with hope.

"Ahahaha... because I do not hide my Empire's legacy behind a thin veil and beg you not to look behind it, I am unsavory? I had no control over my father's wars. I had no power to stop Delta's annexation of a neighboring nation and of the lands formerly ruled by the Brotherhood of Nod... I have control over the Empire now.

"And now, we are not warmongers. In the past, we were among the most aggressive, so why deny it when not one of you would believe such a denial? It would make me lose credibility and be seen as dishonorable, especially to my father. As for tyrannical, I do fail to see how a ruler that is giving hsi people more freedom than they have head in over thirty years, allowing the Senate to be chosen rather than appointed and have, in nearly every way possible while retaining the pillars needed to support a government, enacted reforms that will benefit no one but the people themselves can be called a tyrant. Though you may be using a different dictionary than I am.

"Your offer of trade negotiations is most welcomed by me... bussiness is bussiness, after all and has a powerful influence on politics. If we're all making money, we have less reason to attack one another."

Official Statement

For the record, yeah, we're kind of indifferent to Gholgoth ourselves, and we're wondering why all of our Sovereign League comrades are getting their panties in a bunch over it. Gholgoth has not done anything to threaten the Sovereign League and vice versa, and "existing" doesn't count as a valid reason. Individual Gholgothian nations may engage in aggressive or violent behaviour sometimes, but the SL really isn't much different in that sense. I point to the recent Whyatican/Silver Skyian/Clandonian invasion spree, for instance.

We, also, don't see the point in going to peace talks when a) there's no war and b) we really haven't done very much anyway in this theatre. We'd be perfectly willing to trade or embassy-exchange of course; a mutually profitable relationship between the Sovereign League and Gholgoth seems an infinitely more beneficial agreement than having the two constantly at loggerheads.

Just my 2-nazarins.

Official Announcement of the Allanean Government

We find ourselves in agreement with the representatives of Czardas, Crimmond, and Praetonia all at the same time – business is good for peace, peace is good for business. As such, we feel it necessary to remind everybody involved that Allanea already has no import tariffs on goods from Gholgoth nations. Perhaps it is time that the other nations of the Sovereign League, and the nations of Gholgoth of course, joined Allanea in practicing the age-old tradition of free trade, free markets, and peace.

Who knows - you may even earn something!

The Lord Reaver applauds Allanea's efforts at brokering an end to such a laughable state of affairs.

It is sadly inevitable that great powers will eventually square off. What is even more sad is that such conflicts can be imagined and projected onto the world stage through the radiating fear of small-minded men. Gholgothan interests lie in directions other than the Sovereign League and always have.

Trade is of course always welcome and appreciated. With the Panteran Automobile, Agricultural, and Tourism sectors booming recently, foreign markets could greatly benefit from Panteran goods and currency.

OOC: Giving myself something to do while waiting for AMF to respond.

IC:

In the meanwhile, as Alexander Kazansky was traveling to AMF, one particular businessman was already taking advantage of the situation that was ensuing. His name?

Richard Rabbit.

Even as Kazansky's aircraft was taking off, Richard Rabbit was already writing an email to the finance ministers of Pantera and Crimmond. The letter (in both copies) read as follows:

Honorable Sir!

As your nation's leader stated recently, he favors peaceful trade with businesses from the Sovereign League. As such, my corporation would like to expand itself into your nation, opening (via franchise system) an initial amount of ten thousand branches of our wonderful – and healthy – fast food chain in it.

Would this be an option?

Sincerely yours,
Richard Rabbit.
