The Secret War (MT, open to all)

The United Ed States

OOC: This thread has been created for the sole purpose of showing people what's really going on in The UES Commonwealth of King Toad II. If you wish to do anything about this, you may send a media reporter (with our knowledge... or maybe even secretly... that would be cool...) to King Toad II to cover the story... what's really happening, and then military or diplomatic action may be discussed.

NOTES:
Recently, the Constitutional Monarchy of the United Ed States, located on a large island with smaller surrounding islands in the Mid-Atlantic, muscled it's way in on the Allied States of King Toad II, a neighboring island nation which, although originally controlled by a Despot like King, after undergoing several civil wars (2 to be specific) became a hopeless wasteland where anarchy and local gangs roamed. The UES, with citezin support, moved in forces to "make the Allied States a safer place." Sure enough, the gangs were cleared out, police had control once again, and King Toad II was placed back in power. However, UES forces refused to move from the Allied States. Several months after the invasion, the old despot like government was given the boot, and King Toad II was kept in office as nothing more than a puppet of the UES government, and stands at his Imperial Palace only as a Allied States symbolic figure. The nation was then renamed "The Ed States Commonwealth of King Toad II," and the nation was put under UES rule completely. All citezins agreed with the UES rule for the most part, due to the fact that it was a reliable and somewhat safe nation. All, that is, except for the small group of rebels who have the crazy notion of a free and independant self-governing Allied States, without UES rule. These people, called the Allied States Liberation Militia (ASLM), composed of groups like the People's Army of the Allied States (PAAL) and the National Freedom Corps (NFC), have taken up weapons of the old civil wars and diverted to guerrilla tactics. These rebels, seeing as they have no chance of fighting it out straight with the Toad National Army (TNA) or the supporting UES troops, have taken to the small, mostly uninhabited forest covered islands to the north of Lanfalder, the name of the main island. The chain of small islands to the north are appropriatly named the "Northern Chain", and the small waterway seperating Lanfalder from the Northern Chain is called the "Northern Strait", which is roughly the size of the English Channel at it's longest points. With ease, the ASLM can land small boats in Landfalder, attack a convoy, docking station, or military base, then retreat back accross the Channel and into the safety of the immense forests before UES/TNA can respond. Small groups of planes have been flying into the island chains on "search and destroy" missions. This "secret war" however is quickly becoming known to the public. Even though the UES and it's new commonwealth are free nations, all media is restricted by elected officials, which presently support the "secret war" going on, and have been restricting this as much as possible. This is why you may wish to send a reporter... Anyway, after months of this air and even sea mission element to the secret war, the UES is finally going to do something that may really hit the enemy...

And NO! Before you ask, I'll answer; The Ed States of Commonwealth of King Toad II IS NOT! a nation inhabited by a bunch of humanoid toads! It is simply called the ESC of King Toad II because the King happens to have a very odd name... Mr. Toad :)

IC:
A small landing craft, a black raft able to hold 14 men and appropriate equipment made it's way to shore. The 14 men, all dressed in black scuba suits, got to a point where the shore could clearly be seen. The man in charge, Major Richard Nanizinco, member of the 2nd E-SCAO, the most elite branch of the UES military, turned to his men. "Don't go any farther! They may hear the engine if we go farther in!," he yelled at the man working the engine. The man nodded. "Suit up," came the order. All 14 men hooked up their water proof rifles and explosives and contact equipment to their suits, then zipped them up and put on their scuba O2 helmets. The man working the engine did what he had to do. He clipped the caps off the engine and let it fall into the watery depths. He then took out his 9mm sidearm and plugged several holes into the raft, until it finaly deflated and sunk beneath the sea, leaving the men submersed in the water. As practiced and trained for, all 14 men hooked their suits onto a rope, so all would stick together. Nanizinco checked his under water radio, "Alright, we're in. If anything happens give me a holler. From here on in it's just swimming. We'll organize once we hit the beach. Now check in!" The men checked in that all was well, and then they made their way slowly towards the shore of the island, a known rebel hideout...
