To: Foreign Minister Sassan Savadkouhi
From: President Mobutu Sese Seko

"Dear sir,
For many years, our nations have enjoyed a cordial relationship whose intimacy has rarely been matched in history. We have shared common goals, worked in conjunction toward common causes, and indelibly proved our fidelty toward one another time and again. The Zairian-Parthian friendship, and the will to triumph over the forces of Communism, remains as strong as ever. However, I have matters I wish to discuss with you personally, and would be honored if you could meet me in Gbadolite. Please let me know if you are interested. In the meantime, may you be in good health, and may Parthia continue to prosper."

From: The Parthian Foreign Ministry
To: President Mobotu Sese Seko

The Shahdom of Parthia is committed to continuing the friendship of mutually Anti-Communist nations. Unfortunatley, due to continuing warfare with the coalition of Fascist theocrats who have attacked the Parthian ally of Allanea, the Shah cannot make it himself to Gbadolite, and in his stead, we will dispatch the Foreign Minister. Lord Sassan Savadkouhi will enable further discussion of our mutual interests and will help to secure the future of the Parthian-Zairian friendship and mutual assistance pacts.

-Parthian Foreign Ministry

Mobutu speedily delivered a telegram in reply, confirming that the meeting was on, and arrangements were made for Mobutu's Concorde to arrive in Persepolis, pick up Foreign Minister Savadkouhi, and bring him to Gbadolite, where the DSP would greet him with a 100-gun salute and throngs of beautiful women would perform traditional dances and serenade him with music.

As the Parthian official transport plane approached Gbadolite, landed on the tarmac, and let down the staircase, none other than Shah Khosru himself stepped out, followed by a pair of stern faced Immortals, walking down the stairs gently.

Mobutu was taken aback, stumbling slightly, surprised to see one of his oldest friends - and his closest ally - the Shah of Parthia, step out of the plane. Smiling broadly, he stepped forward, gave the Shah a powerful, vigorous handshake, and, speaking in flawless French, said, "Welcome to Zaire, Your Excellency. It is a pleasure to see you again. Thank you for coming."

As the DSP soldiers fired off a 100-gun salute, throngs of beautiful female dancers swirled around the Shah and Mobutu, serenading them with songs in Lingala lavishly praising the two leaders. As Zairian and Parthian flags were unravelled, fireworks lit up the sky, and two hidden orchestras began playing the Zairian and Parthian national anthems. When the introductory festivities were ended, Mobutu and the Shah were led to a bulletproof limosine, which would take them to Mobutu's main palace.

The Shah shook Mobotu's hand, while one of his servants offered Mobotu a Cohiba Esplendido, the Shah's favorite cigar, while the Shah lit one for himself. He smiled a bit, "So tell me, how are things here in Zaire, is everything well?"

Mobutu accepted the proferred cigar with a smile, shaking the Shah's hand as a servant lit the cigar. "Yes, everything is very well here," he said, even though the opposite was true (the economy was permanently in the toilet, ethnic strife was at an all-time high, crime was skyrocketing, and discontent with his rule was brewing). He opened the limosine door for the Shah, and once they were inside, Mobutu personally poured the Shah a glass of pink Laurent Perrier champagne. The limosine took off down the road - one of the few that was well-maintained in the country - toward Mobutu's main palace. Along the way, they passed women and children garbed in ceremonial dress waving MPR placards and banners and singing, "Djalelo," the presidential hymn.
