Map of Japanese Occupation circa 1940 (http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7600/786pxjapaneseoccupationtk2.jpg)
Head of Government and State: Chiang Kai-Shek
Capital: Chongqing
Population: ~320 million
National Revolutionary Army
The total manpower of the National Revolutionary Army numbers around 4,300,000. Yet the NRA can further be roughly divided into two groups the Central Army, directly under the command of Chiang Kai-Shek and trained at the Whampoa Military Academy, which are comparable to Japanese troops and the Regional Army which while it was part of the NRA is commanded and funded mostly by various provincial warlords. For the most part the Regional Armies are not as well equipped or as well trained as the Central Army. The NRA totals some 370 Standard Divisions, 46 New Divisions, 12 Cavalry Divisions, 8 New Cavalry Divisions, 66 Temporary Divisions and 13 Reserve Divisions. Yet the average NRA Division only numbers around 5000 troops and 3 or 4 NRA Divisions have the same firepower as one Japanese Division.
The standard weapons of the Central Army are the German-made 7.92 mm 7.92 mm Gewehr 98 and Karabiner 98k. The Warlord Armies vary greatly in both equipment and training.
