In September 21st, 2011, Kim-Jong Ill, ruler of the Peoples Republic of Korea announced that they had nuclear weapons. This was no difference than any other of his announcements, but the one different thing, was that these devices were taken to the DMZ and loaded into defensive/offensive artillery. The United States military, now out of Iraq after President Jon Edwards came to power, was ready to deploy a strong force to Korea. Much of the Pacific navy began to steam toward the peninsula as well. Suddenly, after repeated demands and condemnations, NATO organized an Asia mission and officially organized a force to head for Korea. They would join other nations on the Korean DMZ. On January 16th, the United States and allies launched bombing missions and artillery barrages from their artillery on Korea and aircraft from around the region. The plan was to wipe out the terrible artillery that was situated along the border, but mostly to take out the nuclear weapons. But, the North had been prepared. They had dug low bunkers for many more artillery pieces. 3 days after the south began a barrage, the North began to fire back. 1 month later, It was mostly an air war and artillery combat. The South Korean military, US Marine Corp, and several European battalions landed troops behind the DMZ, while another 7 American, 4 Korean, and 4 NATO battalions crossed the DMZ into Korea. The North Korean military fell back several miles and then joined a huge defensive perimeter, the second wall of Korea it was called. The soldiers that fought their called it “Kim’s front door”. The US and allies suddenly began involved in a heated war along these lines with high losses, but a determined will to win.

USS Ronald Reagan-In charge of the US battle group (outside of NATO control) the Ronald Reagan is one of the most involved ships, with many fighters being involved in sorties every few days. The air power that the allies had brought into the war was overwhelming, but the Korean Air Force kept finding ways to hide their aircraft, probably with the aid of China. This is the story of those sailors, marines and pilots.

February 21st- Sea of Japan
1700 Zulu-USS Ronald Reagan

The loud hum of the F/A-18s General Electric F414 engine was heard across the deck of the American aircraft carrier sitting miles off the coast of their enemy, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, or plainly North Korea. It had been two months since the beginning of the war on the Korean Peninsula, and it was going no where. the American, Korean, and NATO units were still held along the new line of defense that was being held by the North Korean Army. Their navy had kept to staying in caves or other hiding places, and the strong US/Korean forces were holding the Sea of Japan. NATO warships and transports held Korea Bay.

"Fist 2-0. You're clear for launch"
"Roger tower."

Fist 2-0 had been given the task of reconnoitering the terrain and area along the Kumyaman area of the Sea of Japan, along the coast of the peninsula.

With the engines gunned and the flight a go, Fist 2-0 launched off from the catapult of the USS Ronald Reagan.

"This is Fist 2-0 we are feet dry. I repeat feet dry. We are approximately 20 miles east of target(Kosan) now. Recon will commense upon arrival, over."

*Asian accent* "Confirmed Fist 2-0. We have you on our radar. Dont worry, look like the north isnt sending up any of its fighters today, over."

"Roger that temple. Thanks for the overwatch. Over and out."

Just then, the sun started to begin its movement across the sky. It had been complete darkness for the flight and then in one moment, the sky was aflame.

Fist 2-0 continued on towards its target, finishing its 14th over the border patrol, the crew began its movement home. Sadly, this was when disaster struck. Even thought North Korea had been under serious sanctions, they had still been able to receive good training for their fighter pilots. So, when a squadron of Korean MIGs popped into the sky, along with 8 other squadrons all along the border, this one American fighter was just unlucky. These fighters had been on their way to attack the front lines, but upon discovering this aircraft on its own, and too far away from help, they struck with ferocity. The alert fighters were unable to aid Fist 2-0 and it was destroyed, just when the Korean sun had fully risen over the war torn country.

After the alert fighters verified that Fist 2-0 had been shot down, they escorted in a Marine Search & Rescue plane to search the wreckage. The landing was right near the frontlines, but at the moment, on supposed North Korean controlled area. With 3 BlackHawk helicopters and 2 Cobras, the men were inserted into the small clearing in the woods where the F-18 was crashed in. The S&R team found the wreckage and some of the casing that held the video of the reconnaissance the F/A-18 was doing. After finding no remains, they set charges to the remaining parts of the plane, and evac'ed the area, setting the explosives once in flight.

"Fist 4-0. Fist 6-0 You are both clear, hold....Launch!" The twin catapults fired into the air launching two million dollar aircraft. These were patrol craft for the battlegroup, but before they made it 5 miles, they came upon their worst nightmare. "CAMELOT,CAMELOT! I AM DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY. 5 North Korean corvettes sighted 7.4 miles from battle group perimeter, north north west of position. We are relaying coordinates." The co-pilot sent the information and it was received by the carrier. The American destroyers and cruisers began movement from their protective positions to engage their enemy counterparts. Then, another challenge came. 2 PROK Fighter squadrons, on parallel course to our position, requesting assistance."
"Roger that Fist 4, head for the perimeter, we'll provide anti-air support."
"Affirmative Camelot, over". With a launch of 5 corvettes, purchased in only the last few years from China, this attack was drastic. With an attack with their new MIG fighters as well from China, this would still be a use of much of the North Korean military strength. The attack was a strange one.

OOC: If you have 5-inch dual-purpose guns on your ship (pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease do) i would like to gun one of those. Meanwhile,i don't know what other guns you have,so i'll just have to say you have 5-inches onboard. Oh,and now my guy's a captain.

IC:

"Roger fire control, loading guns! MiGs closing. Over 'n Out!"
Stuart started yelling orders to his fellow gun crew.
"Load High Explosive!"
He looked down the telescopic sight. Ten seconds later he ripped himself away and dashed to the phone.
"BRIDGE! BRIDGE! WE HAVE A VISUAL!"
"Roger that, Sandrez. Engage! Cover our fighters too."
"OK crew...FIRE!"
The gun crew opened up. The gun roared, the case ejected, and the autoloader slammed in another round. After a few minutes of this, along with the help of a SHORAD crew,3 Aircraft were down.

sure we have plenty of dif warships there to have those guns.

ic: As the warships began their fight the airplanes began there. It was terrible. It was beautiful. The gunfire eminating in the sky and the occassional missile. The fighting was intense, but no pilot was shot down yet. Some would say they flew as good as the PLAAF.

American warships fired their barrages against the North Korean ships and the two sides fought each other in the sky. Two US fighters had been seriously damaged, both pilots having ejected safely, and 1 North Korean plane had been destroyed, killing the pilot. 2 squadrons(10 planes) of South Korean Air Force F-16s are on the way to aid the American forces, but will not arrive for about 15 minutes. The Ronald Reagan has launched all the fighters they can, but are now having trouble with one of their catapults. The USS Winston Churchill has taken heavy damage from the North Koreans, but 3 other American destroyers have encircled the North Korean warships, with 4 more almost at the scene of the fight.
