Brief History of Dephire:

The nation of Dephire has existed, truly, for three thousand years. However, the nation wasn't declared 'Dephire' until seven hundred to eight hundred years before modern times.

Dephire had once been divided into three separate nations: Briska, Joul'Carne, and Dephure. Each possessing their own strengths and weaknesses.

Briska was an extremely military oriented nation with large numbers of people willing to give their lives for the 'cause'. They even made it a religious part of their lives. It was formerly located in the entire south western portion of the continent.

Joul'Carne was a highly conservative nation that chose Wisdom over Brawn. Religion was extremely strict, as were their policies. A military was just an afterthought, but even so their military was highly trained and exceptionally well-off. Many said that they were capable of winning against fifteen to one odds. Joul'Carne was located in the middle portion of the continent.

Dephure was a vast and open country that contained most of the region's population. Their military wasn't as highly trained or as well off as the other nations', but it was decent sized. This nation was located in the entire eastern half of the continent.

First Great Dephirian War:
Peace had lasted between the three nations for hundreds of years, until Briska begun invading their neighboring nations. Joul'Carne fell quickly when Briska attacked, mainly due to it being a surprise. Dephure, having been ready in time for Briska's attack, was able to hold them off. Eventually, they were able to comeback and defeat Briska. After the capital was taken, Dephure became the name of the entire region.

Second Great Dephirian War:
Two hundred years later, a tide of change had caused Dephure to be controlled by a foreign nation known as Borriak. Two brothers were born in the Dephurian town of Siem. Over the years, these two brothers had freed Dephure from foreign rule. This was considered by most as the first part of the Second Great War.
The Second part happened roughly five years later when one of the brothers, Baal, chose to take Dephure for his own. His brother refused, and thus the second portion of the Second Great War began. Over five years of war had commenced and it had finally boiled down to it's climax, The Battle for Sarajevo. Ten days of battle occured in this city. Eventually, Scythis struck down Baal. However, Baal was able to thrust his sword into Scythis through desperation and pure luck. Both fell to the ground dead. The people of Dephure honoured Scythis, and buried him in an ivory tomb in the Capitol City of Ghray.
Years later, Sarajevo's name was changed to San Salvadorea. The name was given to a large portcity closer to the capitol, which had been Ghray at the time of the Second Great War. A tall white ivory tower was built over Scythis' tomb to show great respect to the fallen leader. Dephure was converted to Dephire, which translates to "Defiance" in the English tongue.

Jump to the Future:
Six hundred years have passed since Scythis' fall. A new calender system was in place to honour him even further, thus changing the year from A.D. to S. (or 'in the years of our Hero').

In the year 645 S., several minute civil wars and foreign wars had put a new leader on the throne of Alexandria, the present-day capitol of Dephire. This new leader was the clone of Scythis, his name and appearance be the same as well. However, after a short reign of four years, Scythis vanished.

Present Day Dephire (649 S.):
It had been months since many people from around the world had heard of Scythis or of Dephire. They had begun to slip into the shadows as if they had never existed. Many of their territorial claims had begun to recede from the clutches of Dephire. Last of which to dare this brave act were the nations closest to Dephire. These were the Outer Rim Islands, roughly ninety miles northeast of Dephire's Hammerfest Complex, and the Islands of Gemini, located roughly fourty miles southwest of Dephire's coast.

Gangi, leader of the Outer Rim Islands, spoke to his people with confidence in his words.

"We will not sit and be ruled by a man who hasn't been seen for many days, nor will I wait for him to do anything! I say that we join together and defy Dephire claim over our lands!"

Gemini was quiet, but trade ceased. Gangi had spoken too soon, for admist the shadows of doubt, Scythis rose once more with an iron fist. Within a matter of hours, four hundred ships were spotted departing Shetzeland, a naval port city just southeast of Alexandria along the coasts of the Dephirian sea, and had begun changing direction towards the Outer Rim Islands. On top of that, a massive concentration of armed forces were grouping near Hammerfest, awaiting departure.

Now the Outer Rim had to feel the sting of the Dephirian Military.

Scythis spoke to his leaders and told them that, "...no one has the power to recede from us. If one nation dares try, then they all dare try. We shall destroy them if they insist. No one defies Dephire!"

With that said, the War was open to all.

OOC:
Look, I probably won't be able to check in on this as often as many would wish me to. So please try to telegram me your questions and comments, if any.
It's an open Role-play. You can choose to join up with Scythis, or defend The Outer Rim. No, The Outer Rim is not a real NS Nation.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!

You could say Dephire is nearly three to six thousand miles away, depending on what course you take.

"All hands on deck! Land ahoy! Twenty miles on the north end!"

Sailors aboard the D.R.N.S. BattleGate began running frantically about. They were preparing their ship for 'breaching', a military term in which they 'breach' the outermost layer of possible defense from the enemy. Now Dephirian ships were built for durable battles. The BattleGate was a 'Dephirian Royal Naval Ship', but furthermore was a HellKnight ship. HellKnights were named after their Soldier counterparts, which were the second-highest ranked soldier of the Dephirian army.

It was cold and foggy this Summer's day, which made it seem more like Winter than Summer. Four hundred Dephirian ships departed from the main capitol ports and had headed straight for the Outer Rim Islands. They began positioning themselves in a blockade around the Islands in an attempt to settle things without a single shot being fired.

This was the Main Naval Battlefront.
