The Kurds' Way [Earth V - IC CLOSED]

Protests began in the Kurdish Free Republic - a local demagogue was reported at the outskirts of Sanandaj, chiding his cries for the liberation of the Kurdish people in the state of Moorington. His cries had caught the attention of some local officials who stopped by to listen to his long, winding speech.
"People of Kurdistan! We have heard the cries from our brethren, suffering the oppression of tyrants in Moorington! They have seen the oppressors, and they have cried for help all the nations against such barbarism. Yet, how does this government react? The United Caucasian Republics refuses to help them. They insist to placate the Moorington government! This is non-sense! We are the same people, and yet simply because they do not wish to wage a righteous war against the barbaric Slavs in Moorington, they will let our kind die and suffer! Imagine the oppression of the Sistani people! That is their lot, brothers! And far worse! The people in Moorington are forced out of their homes, expelled onto streets into ghettos. The lucky ones are shot on the site! The less fortunate starve to their death, with the sores of oppression upon them! And there are those who are stripped, beheaded - yes! beheaded in front of their family, their children, their hareem! - beheaded, and their bodies are mutilated, cast into the streets as examples to the rest of us.
"The people of Moorington have shown us their example - they are barbarians who have displaced our brothers! They are the violent masochists, crying the name of God in vain, as if to please Satan himself! They do these in the names of their Gods, but their cries shall fall upon foul ears. Allah has preached their destruction, and it is the Free People of Kurdistan who shall liberate them! We shall exact the oppression of our brothers upon the government of Moorington - they will be displaced, their houses extorted, their wealth spread to the poor, their food cast to the swine, their lives trampled, wasted, exhausted, as they have done to our brothers! Allah Akhbar!"
The officers realized what kind of situation was brewing, and decided to report this incident to the Governor. However, this fellow man spotted the officers in the midst, and felt by some divine wind that these men opposed him. "There! In the distance! The police! They conspire with the government of Moorington, and wish to oppress us all!"
Despite the cries of the officers, claiming to be Kurdish, the crowd manages to stamp upon them, casting stones on their battered bodies. The crowd spent a good five minutes pelting them with whatever they could find - rocks, sticks, scraps of metal, dead rats, and the like. By the time they were done, the man approached them and fearlessly showed his face to them. "I am Abd al Mudhil [Servant of the Judge]. No man shall stop the will of Allah, and there are those who suffer the penances of their sins."
In front of his men, he pulled out a pistol and shot the two men dead.
The new President of the UCR Sevan Naveed sat in his office at the Presidential Palace in Baku. He was enjoying his early morning coffee, brewed locally and grown in Ardabil. It's taste, though bitter, suited him just fine. He wanted to be awake, and bitterness always woke him up. While he did this, he looked over some papers. Most of them were trivial things, like if he would attend this Ball in Yerevan or if he would be a guest at the Local Mosque in Baku. He skimmed through them without much thought. Suddenly there was a loud knock on his door. Before he could answer it was opened and a flushed faced man rushed in.
"Hovhannes? What's the matter?" Sevan asked the man. Hovhannes Kevork is the new Minister of Defense, and all matters of police and military went to the President through him. Whatever it was, thought Sevan, it's bad news. And news it was indeed.
"Sanandaj.... rioting..... Kurds...." He said. Sevan was confused for a moment. Why would the Kurds revolt? They were better off then most of the rest of the Kurds in the world. Then it hit him like a ton of concrete. The new Government in the Bosporus had been making Kurds their favored targets. The UCR under Andrei Johnson had begun to work out a deal for the Kurds, but the election put a stop to that. The man breathed deep a few times and continued.
"A man by the name of Abd al Mudhil or Servant of the Judge had killed two Kurdish policemen. He has also deemed the de facto leader of the Kurdish Rebellion." Hovhannes said. Sevan digested this with a sombre look. Two months into his leadership as President and now this. Sevan already knew he wasn't nearly as popular as Andrei was. Andrei was considered a war hero to the UCR. His leadership helped forge a stable and moderately powerful state in the Caucasus.
"Well, first thing we need to do is to get ahold of them. Find out what they want and why. In the mean-time, I suggest you double the military patrols in Kurdistan. Should the need arise, you are authorized to enact a limit increase of the military presence in Kurdistan. The situation is probably already volitile, and all it needs is a spark to blaze fully." The President said. The Minister took this in quickly and said his goodbyes. He quickly walked off to get ahold of the Governor of Kurdistan and the Military Leader there. Sevan then thought to himself, "Will this be how I am remembered?".

[ooc: FYI, I provided the translation of his name - his name is Abd al Mudhil... and I continue RPing his demagoguery until you either summon him or kill him - in which case, I'll make him a martyr and make up another guy to take his place :D BTW do you like?]
Soon after having killed the two men, it was discovered that they were Kurdish policemen on their regular patrol. Abd al Mudhil didn't do much to justify his actions - "They were servants of Moorington. Some of our brethren have been turned against us. But by their example, we can liberate those perverted by the inhumane treatment inflicted upon them. Indeed! Allah has commended them and received them for in their last moments, they repented and were taken into the forgiving hands of Al Rahman. We are but servants to Allah's will."
The people agreed and simply passed that incident without much doubt in their minds that they were the righteous. It was a growing crowd that arrived in the days afterward - it seems that the death of the Kurdish "perverts" brought more and more from the fields to listen to Abd al Mudhilm, optimistically numbering somewhere just under 10,000 followers of his preachings. They followed from mosque to mosque, as he chided on the barbarians in the lands of the Ottomans, who convinced the world that the struggle of the Kurds is the ways of antiquity, to acknowledge it passively and nothing more. For this, he raged about the glorious war with Moorington, as they gathered more people, from the lower angles of society. And soon, those scholars, unsatisfied with their learnings joined and made the danger clear and apparent to the UCR Governate. The governor called the President's office directly: "We have put troops into the field to calm the tremors, but the crowds keep growing. We may have to make more drastic actions sooner than necessary, because it's starting to drain life of the Republic."
While on the streets, Abd al Mudhil preached on one instance of the wrath of Allah: "Allah holds no reverence to those who slovenly cast blasphemies against the most beautiful and most holy of names. The people of Moorington continually anger Allah, and their presence shall become apparent to the people of the world! The Kurdish people will rise and strike this foe from their midst, and we - the Kurdish people - shall be hailed the liberators of the lands of the world, from this threat! But until then, the dust of their heels strikes harshly upon our brethren, and the world refuses to watch our suffering. Allah has commanded that we rise and strike those who strike the Faithful! And we shall!"
A night of restlessness fell upon the city and incantations filled the alleys - their numbers were growing, but how far and how fast remained the true mystery. Was it 10,000? 100,000? Was it only superstition - the numbers were actually lower? No one seemed to answer them, and it would only be time before the Bearer of Shame will wreak judgment upon the people of Moorington.
OOC: Yes I do.
The next morning started much the same as the previous, apart from a restless night for Sevan Naveed. Further reports had pointed out that there was no or little rioting in the city and that this Abd al Mudhil was garnering surpport every second. As night fell, no one honestly could tell Sevan how many followers he had, or how many of them were violent. He even received a call from the Govenor of Kurdistan urging him into immediate action. Sevan questioned weather capturing him would do any good. Putting troops into the field may only seek to further their cause. Sevan looked at a report of the night in the city of Sanadaj.
"So their night was as restless as mine, ironic" Sevan said to no one in particular. He read over the report. It noted certain instances where Kurdish Police had a face-off with some of the dissenters. No one was hurt or killed thankfully. But the boldness of the dissenters surprised him. The Govenors words, saying drastic actions were almost necessary, rung out in his mind.
"Hovhannes, you get ahold of this guy, yet?" He asked, although he already knew the answer was no. The Minister looked at him for a second and then told him no. This man was almost impossible to reach, if you got to close there was a chance you would get attacked. Sevan thought about what he knew about the man and his followers. He understood that they were like this because of new Bosporus Government. Then it hit him, they were going after this new government. They wanted to free the Kurds. This could pull the UCR into a war with this new Government. Something alot of people didn't want.
"Hovhannes, whats the current troop count in Kurdistan." He asked, because honestly he didn't know. There we a few things he allocated to his Ministers and troop count and numbers were one of them.
"Around 12,000. Most of them are centered around the Kurdistan Air-Force/Army Base in Northern Kurdistan. Why, sir?" He said. The President looked at the minister and thought for a moment.
"I... would like you to increase the troop levels in Kermansha and Kurdistan. Bring them up to around 50,000. I would also like for you to deploy more men around Kurdistan. I want this dissent contained, until we can figure out what to do." The President with a face that hid his emotions that were ragin in him.

The day started slowly, and the crowds were thin. Abd al Mudhil stood at the central mosque in Sananaj, and he stood ready to preach of the evils of Moorington, with a sizeable company of UCR soldiers. He preached that tolerance of the Moorington genocide was intolerable itself, as it tolerated the oppression of the free Kurdish people. "Action is the only weapon we shall carry when these crimes are repaid in due. Their King will acknowledge that Allah is ever powerful and ever graceful. We must show them all the err of their ways!"
The crowd began to grow, more so than the soldiers would have anticipated. They decided to control the access points, making certain that no one carried any weapons to use. But of course, before any one reacted quickly enough, disaster struck.
http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2005-10/20135017.jpg
A large explosion sent debris into the sky, and the larger number of people began to pour out of the area, now blocked by UCR soldiers. The ill-conceived soldiers began to open fire on their "attackers" - the coordination of the events was unbelievably surreal. The skirmish didn't last, especially when the soldiers realized the true scope of the situation and turned away their weapons to help any of the survivors escape the mosque blast. Those numbered among were great, but the one that the Governor wished was dead was not.
http://www.irandaily.ir/1384/2290/html/023997.jpg
The explosion had caused wide-spread panice throughout the Kurdistan Province. In reletively un-patroled regions of Sanadaj, looting was reported, but in small numbers. Early estimates put the death toll at around 75 with around 4 times as many wounded. Local police officials and UCR army detachments were helping to clear the rubble and try and keep the peace. Though there were a few incidents, the police and soldiers did their jobs.
Amongst the rubble many bodies were found, most were able to be identified. After the search and intial excavation of the rubble was completed. It was determined that Abd al Mudhil was not killed in the blast or the following collaspe of the Mosque. A few members of the Police expressed concern that he was not dead.
-The Following Day-
Kurdistan Govenor's Palace
"And you're telling me he is not dead?" The Govenor asked the man. They were in a heated conversation. The man seemed generally nonchalant at this.
"You gave us too many limitations, we tried to kill him the way you said to, but it ended with him only slightly wounded and 75 innocents dead." The man said in a Russian Accent.
"Limitations my ass... Look, just kill him already. I don't care how you do it, or how many witnesses there are. Just get it done!" The Govenor said to the man.
"This would require further payment, no?" The Man said in a slightly bored tone.
"Yes, yes fine. $10,000 will be delivered to you." The Govenor said and waved for the man to leave. Just before the man left he looked the Govenor in the eye and told him. "If the UCR Government finds out about this, well it would be bad for your entire Republic."
"Yes.... I know." The Govenor said.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Same day-
Presidential Palace, Baku, The UCR
"The blast has sent shockwaves, all over the UCR." Sevan said. While he was talking he was pointing at a map. It had the entire UCR on it, with political and ethnical boundaries. The President was pointing at the Sanadaj area.
"Over the night, looting was reported in Sanadaj. Most of the looting was small time, and nothing of great value was stolen." He said again. The Slide with the map on it changed to one of a pictured Mosque.
"This is the Mosque that was bombed yesterday." He pointed to the front of the picture. "This entire area is gone. Whatever the bomb was, it was good." With that he turned on the lights and sat down on his desk.
"Gentlement. I want Abd al Mudhil captured. Reports say he wasn't killed in the blast. I want him alive and unharmed if possible." Sevan said. He looked to his Spec. Ops Advisor, Sergei Gagarin. Sergei was a former Spetnaz soldier in the time of the USSR. Nowadays he spends his time helping train the UCR's Elite.
"Sergei, are they ready?" He asked. The Russian man thought for a moment. He then gave his answer in a heavy russian accent. "Yes."
"Then I would like for you to deploy LS9*." Sevan said. The men rushed to comply.
*LS9 is the new UCR Special Forces group, just trained and armed. The name stands for Land and Sea team 9. There will eventually be 8 other LS teams, but for now there is only one. Think of them as Navy Seals, except they are usually armed with a Famas or P90.

[ooc: you have fallen into my little trap, as you are now willing and ready to accept the blame for the attempt on Abd al Mudhil's life, which makes a stronger political influence in the eyes of the Kurdish people - attempting to kill someone like that only convinces people that the UCR governments wants to hide something from their eyes before it becomes out of proportion, and it is an advantage that he will use with the utmost prejudice... a long ooc note, saying "you're asking for it!"]
The day he came out of the hospital, a crowd gathered around him. The hospital was extremely decrepit, unsaved by the progress in the Kurdish governate. While the tombs of oppression were falling, the atmosphere only gave the sights of a new oppression - a global dominance over the Kurdish people. And Abd al Mudhil had came before them, with a scar on his face, burned into his flesh in the imprint of the crescent moon upon his right jaw. And when he stood, it was a deep crimson color that caught the crowd's eyes - his suffering.
"People of Kurdistan!" he cried out. The monotonous crowd turned silent immediately. "I have seen a vision from Allah! And its pristine vision has been made clear to me. As I lay in sleep from the blast of fire at the sacred resting for Allah's faithful children, an angel came to me and pulled my body from the flesh and showed me the world! I came to see the people in Moorington - our brothers suffering the plight of their wretched dictators! And the angel spoke to me! He said that our people were the chosen ones of Allah! And that the word was ours! Allah has heard our oppression, and has given to us the divine authority to liberate our brethren. As the slaves from Egypt, we shall rise and defeat the oppressors of the free Kurdish people! We shall rise and destroy those slander those of Allah's lot! We shall wage jihad upon those whose arms bath in the blood of our hareem!
"We shall begin this today, as it is only clear to us that those oppressors of our people are still here! They are the self-proclaimed governors! They are those that Satan has put into power, having blinding us from Allah's protection. We were wrong to seek the protection of a government those knows not Allah nor Allah's people! And now Allah's mercy shall save us if we turn from the ways of Satan's lot and wageg war against them and bring them to our light! Today, we shall raze the foundations of this government and in its place, establish the lot of Allah's will to begin our war against the barbarians in Moorington. And then we can be praised for Allah's will shall be done, and the Kurdish people will have their freedom, their land, their right!"
[ooc: I'm totally making Jews out of the Kurds... no insult intended...]
At that, the crowd, having been incited by Abd al Mudhil's words, marched out of the hospital square and began a march upon the Governor's mansion in the center of the city. The numbers that went against him were numerous, but behind the confines of his little fort, he felt confident that those with him could usher some protection. But little did he realize that his little ploy at the mosque had literally incited the city to heed to warnings of Abd al Mudhil, and he now faced a greater threat than simply the demagogue's words.

[ooc: just to rouse some response to this from both Moorington and Granate]
The cries for jihad from Abd al Mudhil were scarcely off his lips when a series of explosions rocked the capital of Moorington. The attacks were actually poorly coordinated, and the Moorington forces were controlling situation, were it not for circumstance to decide that the bombs were prematurely set off. The security checkpoint in a train station was completely engulfed in flames, near the height of rush hour; the marketplace was shattered with the shards of rubble from the explosion; and a calm neighborhood in the suburbs was disrupted by the bomb's loud thunder.
The Moorington authorities checked the scenes for evidence of those who were responsible. But of course, there was none - and the simple cue to place the blame of these attacks on the Kurds, to give further justice to their actions inn their realm. In that, Abd al Mudhil's actions in the UCR was spurring the people to act even more so to revolt against the government. That day alone, police confronted a massive rioting mob, with its sight set on the Governor's Palace. The attack was brutal, and its effects sent a clear problem to the Governor - just exactly how many people would he kill before the problem was over in fact?
I will post later today. Some things have come up in Real-Life. I should have time tonight though.
OOC: Sorry, I forgot about this. My bad. Yes I am willing to accept that a portion of my government is actually responsible and that part of the Kurdistan Government is Corrupt. Corruption is almost impossible to stop, you can only contain it and even then it keeps growing. The UCR Government has been aware of the Kurdistan Govenor's Corruption for quite some time. We just don't have enough evidence to kick him out of office and he's been very helpful in industrializing Kurdistan. So we have to try and weigh the options here. Do we get rid of him and his corruption, but lose his industrialization skills? Up until now, we've kept him in office, mostly because he's not too corrupt and he's very helpful, but now..... let's just say LS9 may kill someone and he's in a posistion of power.
IC:
-Kurdistan, Sanadaj, Govenor's Palace-
The Govenor was pacing in his office inside the Palace. He was extremely worried. For one thing, his one chance at killing Abd al Mudhil had failed miserably. Now it seems that the explosions had done one thing, incite them further and this time they seemed to focus on him. Not good he thought. He looked through some papers and checked them for anything useful. He had done this 4 times in past 20 minutes. Now it would seem that rioters were clashing with police still loyal to him. Each instance blood was drawn on both sides. But each time, it only fueled the rioters onward. Just yesterday they had almost reached the Palace, and would have if it weren't for a quite large group of Police. Alot of people died that day. The street was still tinged red from the blood.
"Allah, what have I done?" The Govenor asked. With that he slumped into his overstuffed chair and just stared at the ceiling. He would be seen in that posistion for about 2 hours. None of his advisors could get him to even as much look at them. After the two hours were over, he got up and ate a meager amount of food and then walked to his bedroom. Although it was still early, he was tired and rest was what he needed.
-Same Day-
A Run-Down Abandoned Apartment Complex, Sanadaj
The LS9 team was in posistion, and had been for about 3 hours. What they were doing was recording and watching Abd al Mudhil. Trying to figure out his movements. Where he went. With whom he went with and why. Once they figured that out, they would make a plan to try and capture Abd al Mudhil. Killing him was out of the picture, as making a Matyr out of him was very, very bad. The Team was made up of seven men, two three man teams and an overall commander. Currently, Team A was out gathering Intel. Team B was getting everything else set-up. Suddenly there was a small noise as a minature printed came to life. The man watching it quickly tore it off the roll and handed it to his commander without looking at it.
"Well, well... It would seem that the Govenor of Kurdistan is suspected of corruption and instigating the explosion in this very city." The Man said with an air of humor in his voice. Although he knew the explosion had killed quite a few people, he found it quite humorous that a Govenor elected by the people had bombed them.
"What does that mean Commander?" A Sergeant asked. The Commander thought it over quickly and looked over the rest of the paper. He smiled in obvious humor at the rest of the print-out.
"It would seem we are to find evidence linking the Govenor to the Explosion and then give him some 9mm Aspirin." This joke was met by a string of small laughter. The Commander quickly doused the laughted with a look and then set everybody back to work. Tonight was going to be a long night.
OOC2: Yes, yes. My LS9 Team has a slightly racist attitude against the Govenor and the Kurds. This is mostly held by the Commander. The rest really don't care.

Moorington was startled at the violence. It had little if any idea that Kurdish influence extended this deep into what was widely considered Monarchy supporting peoples. Of course there were fall back options, like more grander attacks and more forced emigration that could be tried, then there was subtle attacks. Assassination not the least of them.
"We shall be a immovable beacon so that the world knows we are the rightful heir. We shall not give up because of demands made by a extreme minority. We are not giving up our ideals because of some blood. We can bleed until the Black Sea i renamed the Red Sea, but you know what? Ideas are above our mere bodies, and so, these attacks hardly reach its magnificence.
Be strong, my people, and remember our ideals are stronger than mere steel and rock, we are the light of civilization in this world, and we will not falter!"
Blackwood left the stage, to thunderous applause. Hardly registering it, he knew if he had gotten up there and stuttered through the whole thing those people would applaud. They were the kind whose feelings could only be seen later on. Besides, it was not those nobles who approval he sought, it was the mob.
Moorington enrolls a new program, Special Directive 1 calls for the immediate creation of the Special Directive Unit, who shall carry out the corresponding Directive. This system of using corresponding directives to name the unit may have a optimal limit of 1000, but that bridge is decided to be crossed when it comes.
Special Directive Unit 1, the all purpose unit, and Special Directive 2, who enforces Special Directive 2: elimination of Kurdish extremists are staffed from a selection of military, civilian, and privately held security branches

There were few people who could see the holy man of Kurdistan, but to the majority, they didn't need to see him. Only a lonely foreigner with a notepad, tape recorder, and pen came and went into his secluded tent outside the damaged mosque in Sanadaj.
"Allah be with you," he said as the reporter came to him. "You have the greatest mission of the men who travel these roads, for you must carry the suffering of my people to the people who inflict our suffering. In such a manner, they may realize their pains and repent of their transgressions and be spared Allah's wrath."
"Okay. Would you mind if I ask questions?"
"Nay, for Allah has already spoken and has no answers for you. But I must speak the words that Allah has given or corrupt the ways that Allah has prepared.
"The Kurdish people have suffered the oppressions of many peoples since the days of the Prophet, and even before. When the Romans were upon us, they showed us no mercy for those who did not turn, and many turned because Allah was not upon us yet. But when the Arabs came, with the word, they brought hostility. Then the Mongols, who sought our refuge and destroyed them all. After the Mongols came the Turks, our most devoted enemy. Despite knowing the ways of Allah, they turned upon and slowly stripped us of our nation. They first stole our land - then they stole our language - then they stole our women - then they stole from us our divine protection, when they stole the rightful guidance the caliphs. For centuries we have lingered, and yet we struggle, we remain true to Allah.
"And Allah has heard us in our years, and has now given to us Providence. So let it be known to the oppressors of the Kurdish peoples - we will not be taunted. We will have our rights as man - to those who willingly submit to their rulership over the Kurdish people, they must acknowledge to Allah's presence in the Kurdish people! To those who wish harm against the Kurds, they must acknowledge Allah's wrath for them. To those who wish to tolerate our pains at the hands of devils, they must acknowledge that they shall not be spared of our lot. Until the Kurdish people are free to live in the ways of Allah, we shall strike with vengeance against our enemies and exact their very crimes against them. But if they should repent, Allah is ever forgiving and ever blessing - turn to Allah willingly and your household shall be spared of Allah's wrath."
The reporter was frantically writing the details of Abd al Mudhil's words, wondering at the close if there was anything else to say. But nothing else was spoken, so he left the tent and went on his way to print the article that speak millions to the world.

Blackwood scowled as he read the article, that Kurd thought that he could infringe on the Protector of Civilization and Guardian of Europe, Keeper of Europe? Picking up a retro phone from his mantle, he dialed the Special Directive Unit offices.
"Tonight" was all he said, and slammed down the phone. Looking at the rug, one of the Persian masterpieces, he called for his butler for some wine, and Freedom Toast. Perplexed, the butler asked if Freedom Toast could also be called French Toast, "Yes, yes" Blackwood said irritably, "same difference."
The Special Directive Unit set about a campaign of destroying, arresting, and killing any Kurd associated with that radical. This included some mainstream institutions, but mainly affected were the Mom and Pop shops, and more Kurdish oriented shops whose departure from this world was not noticed by anyone who would matter. Regardless, most people within Moorington were glad to see what they could, the Kurds, they thought, were hanger on’s and just took up good taxpayer money in exchange for causing havoc.

[ooc: JUST FOR REFERENCE, the Kurds didn't commit the bombing in Moorington's capital [which is what, btw?] - they didn't assume responsibility for the blast :D]
While Abd al Mudhil, some of his younger proteges decided that a revolution was at hand, and that they needed to make way for the new prophet. They assembled a large number of people from the masses - the poor, the sick, and the dying of Kurdistan - and they made the preparations for an assault on the Governor's Palace in Sanadaj. They tried to gather as many people, but of course, being meek, they lost count after 99. They could only guess that Allah conscripted "millions" to join the cause [the truth was somewhere more reasonably set in the thousands...]. Confident that they had enough, the disciples passed out the small arms and set the mob for the palace. Only for that moment could the Governor loathe to watch this mass approach his refuge from literally all directions.
The Govenor's Palace
The Govenor looked out one of his windows at the incoming mob and sighed. There would be death, lots and lots of death. It would stick to the Province like a stench. It would all be because of him and his attempts to silence that man. That man who he hated for so long, was now knocking at his door with a mob that was willing and ready to kill him. The Govenor found it odd that he no longer hated the man, instead he was sad that he would die today. He hoped that the man was enraged when he could not kill the Govenor directly, for the Govenor had other ideas.
Walking to his desk, he opened one of the drawers. In it was a peice of paper, a box, and a 9mm bullet. The Govenor looked at the note with saddened eyes. It was his last will and testament. He had two witnesses from his staff in the compound sign it. His wife and children had been relocated to Tehran as soon as the trouble began. He took the paper and placed it on the desk. He then put the box and the bullet on the desk as well.
The Govenor gingerly opened the box and pulled a pristine condition Makarov pistol. He slightly caressed the black gun with his index finger. This gun was given to him by the President of the UCR, Andrei Johnson when he became Govenor of Kurdistan 6 years ago. Although controversial at the time, Andrei insisted that he had given it to the Govenor for a reason that even he did not know. The Govenor thought of the irony of the situation. The gun's reason was to kill it's owner. If only Andrei could see him now. If only....
The Govenor slowly took the magazine out of the Pistol. He toyed with the magazine for moment, thinking of good times. He then took the 9mm round and placed it in the magazine. He spat into the magazine to make sure there was enough lubrication in it. Slowly, he put the magazine back in the Makarov. The Govenor then pushed a button on the inter-com on his desk. He gave the order for for the Kurdistan Police protecting the palace to stand down and abandon the palace with all haste. Most, if not all, of the staff was gone as well. The Govenor then cocked the Makarov and placed the gun to his temple. He then pulled the trigger.
OOC: Perhaps my best post yet, in my opinion. I hope this doesn't screw with you alot. Let's just say the russian assassin betrayed the Govenor and returned back to Russia. Never trust a Russian....

[ooc: The truth is that you're not screwing with me - I actually expected your LS9 crew to eliminate your Governor, but surrendering it to extremists is just as good ;) and speaking of elimination, a more sure way to commit suicide by gun is to shot from the lower jaw up into the brain; there is less bone blocking the path, so the brain is nearly instantly "vaporized" as the bullet zips through the cranial cavity]
Abd al Mudhil woke from his slumber to watch a procession leading from the mosque the many blocks and miles to the Governor's mansion. He turned to his disciples, all reverently bowing to him. He imagined the worst had happened.
"The Governor is dead?"
"Allah has done to him what no man could have done."
"Then Allah has decided. But is not better to turn the children to the light than the extinguish its dim glare? Who among Kurdistan has the authority to guide the Kurdish people to the rightfully way of the divine?"
The disciples looked up to him and replied, "You."
"Me? The messenger does not become the rightful leader of his people."
"But was not Musa in the desert the messenger to the Pharoah? Was not Dawud the messenger to the children of Israel and to the Filistini? Was not Isa the same messenger of the Jews? Was not the Prophet the rightly guided messenger of Allah, to the true word and way of Allah? Such is their way, as is yours."
Abd al Mudhil looked about the congregation, growing and still cheering from their victory. He decided that Allah had decided, and that it was his destiny. But he was willing to see another way through the mess. "I must speak to the man who is the professed leader of the country that hosts authority to this land."
"The President?"
"Yes."
"But wants you dead?"
"Not him. The Governor, perhaps. But Allah has spoken other words to the man who runs these lands under one hand. If only to secure Allah's blessings, we must make those who anger Allah turn to Allah, rather than submit them to Judgment."
"But what of Moorington?"
"Allah has already judged Moorington - they shall reap their crops of hatred when the time is best confronting them, for in their days, a number shall rise from within them and destroy their sovereign monarchy - to establish a more justifiable government that respects the Kurdish people for who they are; to oppress them no more, for Allah has heard their cries and sought retribution against it."
"But what of your preaches to bring no mercy to the enemy?"
Abd al Mudhil looked back at them shocked. "When have I ever preached of no mercy?"
The disciples looked to themselves and ponder what he meant by that. Abd al Mudhil nodded in comprehension. "You have been blinded by your oppression. You have the fiery words that I sought to inspire the enemy with fear - to stand in the way of Allah's will is folly. But if we show them an alternative, to follow the will of Allah, they will surely follow. Those who choose to oppress us will see their end, for Allah has given to us the rightly guided message of liberation. But our aim is not to destroy the people; we seek to destroy the institutions of their oppression. We will raze the foundations of tyranny and arise a new domain that respects the will of Allah, and willingly follows it. If such is our lot - to suffer - then we shall wage war against the world. But if we can convince the world to turn to Allah and acknowledge the wisdom of Allah's way, we will be more victorious than ever. After all, was it not Musa's mission in Egypt - to turn the Pharoah from his deceit and acknowledge Allah's desire? That to acknowledge Allah's ways was to bring peace to the land, while to confront it and to ignore it was utter folly and destruction? Yes, that is our purpose. Any other way is a perversion of the truth."
He paused as he allowed this teaching to soak into their minds before repeating his request. "I must speak with the President."

[ooc: JUST FOR REFERENCE, the Kurds didn't commit the bombing in Moorington's capital [which is what, btw?] - they didn't assume responsibility for the blast :D]
The Moors don't get caught up in that stuff; stuff like 'responsibility' and 'who did it'. If there are bombs going off in Moorington, the Kurds are blamed regardless.
Moorington, Moorington is the capital city. It is its own state, which is the city limits, and thus revisioned every 10 years at the time of the census. Sorry I didn't mention this earlier but I am to used to having Moorington, Moorington called Moorington, so my brain automatically thought you were referring to Moorington, Moorington, and not the country Moorington.
(Make sense ;))

Two Days Later...
The LS9 Team had been spending the past two days gathering alot of intel. Most of it was repeats, but there were a few gems. Most of the information pertained death of the Govenor and his staff. Death by suicide it seemed, and that most of the staff and security had made it out of the palace ok. The rest were no worse, only suffering minor injuries. The Palace had been trashed by looters before the LS9 Team could scope it out for more intel. All they got from the Palace was that the Govenor used a 9mm Round to the temple. Death was instantaneous.
The other bit of information wasn't as clear nor was it expected. Rumors were going around that Abd al Mudhil wanted to talk with the President. This information was taken from members of the Kurdistani Police Force and a few 'interrogated' followers of Abd al Mudhil. Most of the information collaborated. The Commander of the LS9 Team contemplated reporting this immediately to his superiors back at Baku. He eventually decided that it was better to be safe then sorry.

The Commander, after having read the message, radioed his field team. They were given there orders to locate Abd al Mudhil. Once they have located him, they were to radio back to the Commander and the second team would come and they would interrogate Abd al Mudhil. If all went well the mission would take 10 minutes and this whole can of worms in Kurdistan could be over.

Abd al Mudhil reflected on his past days, wondering if the message had been brought to those in power. There were days of oppression coming, and indeed, if Allah's way was to be realized, there would need to be the one whose right is lost at the hands of men - and in death, he would carry the banner farther and to the true peace for Kurdistan.
The government was corrupted - it had to be destroyed and made anew. But unlike the ideas of his contemporaries, he had a different vision of destruction. The government was not the people or the buildings that ran the society - it was the ideology, under which a state operates; much akin to a Constitution of the state, one could destroy these edifices, but as long as the ideology reigned, such a government would persist.
Freedom was nigh, but the road would take him to pits of Hell, and the demons would taunt him to the bone. But Allah by him, he would emerge victorious. If need be, there would be another Hirjah [migration], but victory will come to the Kurds. And those who stood with the Kurds would be victorious as well, for Allah's way was justice - to reward the righteous but smite the fools.
In the meantime, he stayed at the mosque, waiting for the President to call him. And then they would preach the word to them.
-Sanadaj, Kurdistan-
Current Time: 21:35
The LS9 Team had located the target. It was an old, yet still beautiful Mosque on the east-end. It would seem that Abd al Mudhil was very pious, and he loved to be in a Mosque. The locating of him was the easy part, now the team had to get to him. They expected the Mosque to be patroled by some of his followers. They expected to find him in the front of Mosque near the Qu'ran. Again, this was all just an idea and not fact.
First they had to get to the Mosque. They would approach the Mosque from the south, moving through Alley-ways and side streets to stay hidden. Due to the danger, a curfew for vehicles was placed and all street lights had to be off by 21:30. They would advance slowly to try and get to the Mosque.
After displacing any guards that were located around the Mosque, the team would move in. There, they would again displace any guards in the Mosque. They have been given strict orders not to damage anything within the Mosque by the Commander.
The Team Leaders gave their men some quick signals and the mission was on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: I am taking a big risk here, but I am a really bad writer at scenes like this. I am guessing you have a maybe a few guards outside, armed with little more then an AK. They probably aren't trained for guard duty, and as such are unaccustom to an enemy who uses the shadows. If all this is true, then it wouldn't be far fetched for me to just say that they were knocked out, probably without alerting anyone awake in the Mosque. We could probably just do the next scene starting with Abd al Mudhil praying and hereing the Mosque doors open or something along those lines.

[ooc: good gravy, I'd nearly forgotten about this!!!]
Abd al Mudhil listened in his prayers as the LS9 surrounded him. The crumbling edifice hid their movements mostly, and their intentions as well.
"Kill me and the masses will roar, Allah will bring upon you a fiery wrath, and the peace that you seek in my death will be gone before it is ever realized. But speak - what reasons have you come here, and are my children well and unharmed?"
"Your... 'children' are fine. Unconscious, but fine." One of the LS9 men said. The man then turned to talk into a radio. "This is Tango-12, we have located and begun transactions with the Investor, please advise." There was a small but of static that came from the radio as the rest of the Mosque was deathly quiet. Then a voice came over the radio.
"Tango-12, you and your men are to begin discussion with the Investor on why he wants to meet the CEO of our Company. After that, you will radio us your answer and we will work from there. Roller Mine, out." The Voice said. The LS9 man then turned off the radio and looked towards Abd al Mudhil, who was slightly bewildered by the odd message. He soon figured it out as the 'discussion' began.
"Abd al Mudhil, we've been hearing rumors that you want to the President of the UCR, is this true?" The LS9 man asked bluntly.

"It is true." A simple reply to a simple question.
"Then it looks like we aren't going to kill you." The LS9 man said. He began to talk into his radio. He relayed the nesscary data to his commander and awaited orders.
"It looks like you are going to get your wish" The Man said. Abd al Mudhil was slightly relieved by this message. His word would get out with the help of the President. His dream was well within his grasp. Then the LS9 man spoke again.
"Under one condition: The meeting takes place in Cairo with the Emir of the Emirate there as well." The man said.
OOC: Hope you don't mind me bringing the meeting there. I also beleive having a person who is very religious in Islam there may make for an easier meeting of sorts, since my President isn't all that religious.

[ooc: ehh, trying to ICly involve me? what are you, a masochist? I've got enough split personalities, no need to put it in the same post...]
Abd al Mudhil stood up, somewhat surprised to see this reaction. "What does this Emir have in common with me or the President of the UCR? I have no intention to travel to a foreign land to be lectured by another man who prays to Allah for different reasons than I pray. I wish to speak to the President to address the oppression of the people which Allah have given authority to him. If the President feels that he cannot do such a thing, then I will speak to another person with a greater authority. And if you truly bring good intentions to me and the President, your efforts would be better spent trying to fix the problems in Moorington, with their racist ideologies, their blasphemous rants, and their wicked tongues, which have long preached the end of Kurdistan and its right and free sovereign people, in the name of Allah as well! But tell me what your President will speak to me of this?"

At that instant, a young man came into the mosque, and seeing that Abd al Mudhil was surrounded by enemy soldiers, moved to attack them. But before anyone did anything, Abd al Mudhil stopped them all:
"I have invited them here of my own accord, as they and I share a common accord. Lest you hinder us, Allah will make things right."
The boy, seeing that things were alright stopped his aggression and announced to him the great news: "The UCR has invaded Moorington and seeking to right the wrongs of the previous regime! Justice is ours, Abu Kurd [Father Kurd...]!"
Abd al Mudhil nodded and looked to his visitors: "Does my disciple speak the truth?"

[ooc bumping for Granate to see if this is still on the radar screen]
OOC: Sorry, forgot about this.
IC:
The LS Commander just then received a radio transmission. He quickly answered it and began to have a conversation with person on the other end. He expressed his surprise at the news he recieved. He was astonished, he and his team had not been informed about it at all. He was gonna have to pay a visit to his Superiors after this was over. He looked over at the Kid that had entered as well and he thought a few thoughts, but he quickly doused them.
"It is true, the UCR has invaded the Former-Moorington Held Land of Turkey to rid it off Extremists and to releive the burden wrongfully placed on the shoulders of the Kurds and other Ethnic Groups." He said to no one in particular. He heard a few of his men gasp in disbelief. He then remembered the final line of the Conversation. He then turned and faced Abd al Mudhil.
"Also, I was ordered to bring in Abd al Mudhil so he can talk to the President. The President has decided it to be rather urgent that you talk to him, it would seem." He said directly at Abd al Mudhil. He watched the man's face, wondering faintly if it would show releif.

Abd al Mudhil showed more than relief: "Allah be praised, for retribution is right with Him! The judgment has been and its righteousness is made evident - the lands of the oppressors shall meet the true justice of the rightly guided domains of the UCR, and the Kurdish people may again breathe freer airs. And our struggle has not been in vain, for the world has heard us and exacted the wrongs upon us to those oppressors."
He turned to the LS9 Commander, remarking slightly: "I shall honor the meeting with your President, in settings as he so please - in the capital of the foreign land or of his own domain, for he demonstrates to me now his submission to the Wills of Allah, and I cannot refuse his acceptance."

bump...
The LS9 was relieved as well, but he did not show it. He had to keep his image as a soldier of the United Caucasus Republics. He couldn't afford to be seen as soft in front of his men, at least not now. The radio buzzed again and he began to relay the information to the person on the other end. The Commander eventually stopped talking while the other person told him what to do. His face visibly darkened at some of the words. The transmission ended abruptly and the commander turned to Abd al Mudhil.
"It turns out that we need to get you to Tehran as quickly as possible. The President and most of the UCR Government is there, apart from Regional Govenors. Now if you would please come with us to the Sanadaj Air-port, we can then make our way to a awaiting Military Cargo Plane. It will take us to Tehran. You can bring along your follower there if you wish, but we must leave now." The Commander said with urgency in his tone.

"I will leave them here, to attend the matters of the city. I shall follow you to the President, where I suspect much is to be discussed pertaining the future of the Kurdish people and of Kurdistan."
"Well then, to get to the Air-Port we are going to have to walk their. Troops like us, travel light. It's best if we start now, it's a good 5 miles to the Air-Field and most of the Power is out in Sanadaj, due to the dissent here. I hope that after these talks that changes. Kurdistan is really a beautiful land." The commander said.

OOC: I don't know what you meant by spectactular. If you mean make something exciting happen, I doubt I could think of something. The only that comes to mind is having JIHADI do something, but I can't think of what. Anyways, I am skipping the part where we walk/run to the Sanadaj Airfield. The plane is preparing to take off, hope you don't mind. I just want to get this finished.
IC:
The LS9 team and it's charges had made it to the Airfield under the cover of darkness without much incident. They met up with a Kurdish Patrol and a firefight almost ensued, but thanks to Abd al Mudhil and his words, they were able to take a few trucks the rest of the way to the Airfield. The UCR Soldiers guarding the airfield, after a little fuss, opened the rear gate and let them into the Airfield. It was then a quick jog to the Cargo Plane, which was just beginning it's Pre-Flight Preparations and Inspections. The LS9 Team was releived that they had made it to the Airfield. The Commander's radio buzzed and he answered it.
The Commander spent the next 10 minutes talking to the person on the other end. His face stayed the same throughout the conversation with the other person. After his conversation with the other person was over the Commander looked over at Abd al Mudhil.
"Thanks for what you did back their with that patrol. They seemed pretty adamant that we had kidnapped you and I didn't want to order my men to shoot." He said.

[ooc: "spectacular" meant that I wanted you to get them into Baku in a jiffy so we could avoid the intermittent dialogue... ]
"Allah does not favor the man who kills without divine instruction. If things are as has been prophecized, then we are brothers still, and there is yet more to our purpose than to slaughter. The peace in Moorington is being made by Allah's grace and mercy, and Allah is clearly with the UCR in this measure. For those to oppress the people blessed by Allah, they will see the end of their hands at the hands of Allah, and whether it is better to have the UCR fulfill this than the oppressed shows only Allah's mercy to those who repent."
The airplane had a rough start, principally because the runway was cluttered with junk from riotting and anarchic conditions, but once the men were in the air, Abd al Mudhil fell soundly asleep, waking not even after it had landed in Baku.
