For reference, please post a reference to your forces currently employed [I've realized that this has been stated at least three dozen times, and I sincerely apologize for this, but if we're going to work efficiently, it's better that all the pertinent IC material be as close to this thread - and the ooc thread - as possible].

AS requested, I will declare the results of confrontations, battles, etc.; especially in instances of conflict between the players. Those with objections must state them clearly and concisely without hiding anything of value [as I call them, otherwise known as SIC, IC, OOC, and any other applicable variants][/SIZE]. That said, if you are going to make OOC comments that are either extensive or irrelevant, take it to the OOC thread [and if it's completely irrelevant, take it somewhere else]; I want this thread to be as clean as possible, so people reviewing this thread don't sift through pages of junk and clutter before they come any substantive comments, and I sure that you wouldn't want to sift through some of the junk found on many NS threads, so let's keep it to that.

Things I will require before anyone involves themselves icly:

- declaration of troops involved [this is different from the military declaration, which is a basic review of your total forces, unless you intend to mobilize all of your forces]
- current position of troops employed
- any planned movements of those troops in question

Having stated this, I don't object to fancy RP comment [in fact I strongly encourage it - otherwise, it becomes bland] to include numerous dialogues, but if I don't know how many troops are facing each other, where they are, and how they're getting there, they are fighting. This is especially important for those players who have no troops currently involved but wish to involve themselves [CAVEAT EMPTOR].

Again, if you find an objection with any IC/SIC comment, please relay them to the OOC thread, where it can be more extensively debated. Note to people present: I will not actively seek out mistakes presented by players involved, as one of the most luxurious moments in chess happens when the opponent has made a mistake, so I will not deprive a player of having made that mistake or the opponent for having the opportunity to exploit that mistake [often the greatest tactical mistakes involving failing to exploit advantages practically given to them]. SOOO, if someone makes a mistake and any of those critiquing the comment rat it out as an "error," I will eat you alive and serve your entrails for dessert to my dog [actually, first, I will find you, then eat you... the pleasure of hunt is the chase, not the kill :D].

Having said that, any flagrant errors [i.e. "my uber-PWNZOR army of 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 invades your NEWB nation of Rhode Island!" and other less dramatic variations] will be noted and chewed through the grinder [i.e. OOC thread].

OOC: The War is on limited IC interaction, mostly to allow RPing to commence again and get an attitude following the run over the Caymans, and the subsequent retaliation by Sharina against the RUN.

If at any time a time freeze needs to be effected, I will use my discretion to do so. If you feel that you need to stop the time, I will do so, only to allow a reasonable and pertinent OOC argument to continue until it is resolved. Otherwise, make your posts, and keep the code of conduct - otherwise, FEEL MY WRATH.

A last reminder about posts:

the minimum requirements for an effective post include WHAT is being done, WHERE it is being done, WHEN it is to be done, and HOW it is to be done. If you do not answer these basic questions, I will spit your comments until I get what is needed to make this go smoothly [efficient is good - not efficient is bad].

The ground shook. Wide gaps in the earth groaned open, and Eurofighters took off into the sky.

Again, more Typhoons took to the sky, joining those already circling above.

More fighters took to the sky. The 'holes' in the ground groaned closed, and the fighters above circled in anticipation.

::This is Stork Wing. We are ready to roll.::

::Roger that. Take off when ready!::

Massive planes were then slowly lifted to the surface using large elevator platforms, which then aligned to the tarmac. The giant planes came to life as lights all along the feild of runways lit up. Slowly, The planes aligned themselves with their respective runways.

::Stork wing, lets go!::

Engines roared to life. One by one the bombers inched forward, then build upspeed. Above, the 3 fighter groups organized and flew in formation.Within minutes the bombers joined that at an altitude of 45,000 Ft. Within moments they were flying above the moon-lit waters of the Medeteranian.

-Battle Command Tent-

Outside on a massive field, tens of thousands of Imperial Guardsmen milled about, suiting up for battle. Clean-shaven, and well scrubbed, they were clearly preparing to be in hell for the next few days. In the next field over, a little more than a thousand ospreys were prepping for flight. Having completed the monumental task of refitting and refueling the ospreys, they were now ready to make the 'leap'.

Inside the Tent, a badly scarred man wheezed as he heaved himself around. Or at least, his hands, being the only visible part of him, were badly scarred. Aids, clearly intimidated, moved aside wherever he went, and watched him pass. His identity was obscured by a massive cloak he wore, but noone mistook him for being anything else but the General of the Imperial Guard. Rumors had circulated as to who he was. Some speculated he was a relative of the Lords Vineyard. Others suspected that he was an old Guardsman, one of the last genetically altered ones. Couldn't feel pain it was said. And some few held out that it was Lord Herchuck, who was the last Commander of the Imperial Guards before vanishing during the great Imperial Split. But no matter who he was, he was in charge of this invasion. After the Pacification of the Congo, The subjugation of Cyprus and Macedonia, and after Combating Russian Rebels in the Siberian Wastes, the commander was without a doubt well qualified for the task in front of him.

Outside, a long pole with a series of megaphones attached was raised. The Guards commander limped out of the tent and snatched a microphone from one of his aids.

"IMPERIAL GUARD!"

The Guardsmen snapped at attention, literally dropping whatever they were doing.

"Imperial Guards. Bothers in Arms, defenders of the Empire! Once again, we have been called to serve the Empire! Once again, we are to carry out our mission against all odds! Once again, we find ourselves preparing for battle, reading ourselves for destinies unknown! We find ourselves, as an Empire, embroiled in another massive war. And this one, gentlemen, promises us victory! The Republic of the United Nations, ever expanding, has set its eyes on all lands currently unoccupied! They cross the Empire where ever we go, undermine our efforts, and subjugate governments and people through 'will', forcing them to the will of the collective! In their nation, the will of the Majority is the will of all! The Empire cannot stand for this! We are a nation of absolute equality! Look amongst yourselves! We are all equal, all our fates are intertwined! Not one of us acts with selfishness! The Empire acts on the will of all! Now, Gentlemen, across this great sea is Spain! The Empire used to encompass Spain! Over this ocean, our former brothers and sisters are subject to the wills of Argentina, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, and other assorted nations! But they shall be no more! Men! Today your objective is to seize the Balearic Islands! And in this objective, we will succeed! We are the Imperial Guard! We have taken on entire nations! We have crushed entire armies beneath our boots! We are the best warriors on the face of this planet! Now, let us get on with it! Let us show these dogs that WE are the stronger! That we ARE the best! All of the Empire will be watching! Let us assure the world that is they ever cross the Empire, they cannot rest with ease! Let us assure The Empire that we are invincible! And finally, gentlemen, let us not shame the Empire! To the Balearic Isles! To Victory! For the EMPIRE!

"FOR THE EMPIRE!" The Imperial Guards crowd said, raising their weapons. The Imperial Guards commander put down the microphone and reentered the tent.

"Come gentlemen. We have a battle to win."

[OCC: My Response to some of Vineyard actions. This final post should get the ball rolling so to speak.]

SIC: {Deep within the core of the Spanish Military and the Republican Military, were a select few who knew exactly what was coming and what to do about it. For years, simulations, war games and studies had been done on every possible action and reaction that would have to be taken should the Republic might find itself in a massive war. No stone had been left unturned and every possible outcome had been logged against every possible enemy, including against those of allies. The Republic was prepared for such just a massive war that loomed over the horizon. With a military force of over two million personnel and nearly five hundred thousand Reserve personnel, with 1.8 million of that being in the army alone.

The Republic also had the resources, having stockpiled the necessary resources to last nearly ten years in various underground storage faculties deep within the mountains that were spread throughout the Republic. Underground factories and storage areas for military equipment had also been built, in preparation for the upcoming war. Fifteen thousand Eurofighters alone had been assemble ahead of time and placed into storage. Thousand’s more of Rafales fighters, Main battle Tanks, Infantry Fighting Vehicles and Air-Defense Systems had been placed in reserve in underground bunkers. Even a nuclear weapon would be hard pressed to even touch the bunkers. Adding to that the advance weapons systems the Republic had at it’s disposal, from Cruise Missile Submarines to Strategic Bombers. The Republic also had the capability of within weeks laying the keels for thirty ships of various types. What other nation on Earth could claim to match the resources and capability the Republic had gather, none as far as the Republic was concerned.}

SIC [Part 2]: Looking over a map of Europe, General Carlos Villar Turrau was not the least surprised or impressed when he started hearing reports of Vineyardian military assets being built up in Northern Sardinia. Turning to one of his aides, “the fools are doing just what we expected them to do. Tell the commanders in the Balearic Islands to expect an attack soon. God have mercy on those murderous bastard’s for we surely will not.” The Vineyardians have been wanting to pick a fight with us for ages, they can’t accept we don’t want to be part of their stupid Empire anymore. The fools think all they have to do is attack us once and they’ll win and will join their Empire again. Boy, are they in for a shock.

Sir, what about Operation “Priceless”? Not, to worry my friend, in due time the operation will begin. For, now let’s give the Vineyard’s what they want-let them think their winning. Then when they least expect it, that’s when will strike. They’ll never know what hit them until it’s to late.

ooc: Like I said earlier, I have yet to see any military deployment post. I have, however, seen your individual 'divisional' bases, 2 divisions being in the Baleric Isles.

Also: Reminder. 2 Million is spent per Imperial Guardsman. Which is why I regard them as the finest infantry in the world... and 1 Million for the average soldier. I just realized this myself, while looking over your military stats and mine.

Also, I have a question. Whats the Logistics/Combat personnel ration again? I thought it was 50:50... PLEASE clarify!

IC: Imperial Guardsmen sprinted along the rows and rows of Ospreys, many looking down at their palm-held GPS systems to locate their spcific Osprey.m Men leaped into their craft and strapped themselves in as quickly as possible. As soon as they were ready, th ospreys reported in. Coordination had to be pristine.

Above, the high pitched scream of the initial 200 fighter wave bolted past. Imperial Guardsmen cheered on the ground as their ariel comerades roared past. The next wave was a wave of 50, followed by 150 fighters and 150 bombers roared ahread, followed by another wave of 50. Then, the order was given to lift off. 3,572 ospreys lifted off into the air. The front row going first. Overhead, as they circuled and prepared to get into formation, a group of 500 Eurofighters grouped up on the horizon as the escort force. As soon as all the ospreys were in the air, the Eurofighters took up thir positions (1 group below, 2 above, 3 at 'level' with Ospreys.)

-Inside the Central Command Tent-

"Sir! All units are airborne."
"Very good. Give me Sat. And where is my damn command platform?"
"Nearly prepared sir. We are still going about acquiring a fighter escort, the airfeild in Rome is backlogged trying to get previously parked Eurofighters in fighting condition for it sir."
"Bah, very well. Send word to the 1st. Their phase is next, damn it. I dont want any screw-ups on their part."
"Yes, my Lord."

The Guards General made a lunge for a small box. "Damn it to hell! I forgot!"

"Sir, we have time. The missles can still beat them there."

"Are the coordinates pre-set?"

"Yes sir!"

The commander grapled around his person, then produced a key. Turning a little lock on the protective cover, the cover slid open, revealing a neat set of controls.

Launch cruise missles 1 through 3.

-Feild outside Blogna-
Massive silo doors squeeled open, then belched their firey contents into the night sky. 3 cruise missles screamed towards the Palma Airfeild, intended to prevent any Republic Fighters from landing there in the near future. (I.E create craters in the Tarmac.)

-Imperial Palace-

Regent Windsor stood behind a lit up display pannel, with various Generals and Intel officers wispering and midding about, keeping their eyes focused on the screens.

Words lit up accross the pannel. Impeiral Guard launching attack.

The generals clapped, talking excitedly. On the screen showed the baleric isles in their entirety, along with small indicator units to show targets and friendlies.

Regent Windsor pressed a small button on the screen, causing the view o blimp outwards. Now it was focused on all of Italy.

"Those bastards recently tested nukes. Im afraid they may seek to use them. Prepare silos 1-50. Place them on stand-by. If they even try to nuke us, we will nuke them back into the stone age..." Regent Windsor said in a loud and clear manner. This sobered the generals up. Within minutes, small green ready blimps appeared all over Heartlands. Silos confirming their preparedness.

"Call all patriot crews on alert. Expect retailtiry strike."

The screen then indicated that Patriot MD crews were being called up.

Windsor closed his eyes. What was he missing...?

His eyes flung open. He grinned.

"Prepare BMs 01 and 02. Alert Imperial Guard. This aught to catch them with their pants down."

-Military Comunique carried to Moscow Via Military Delegation-

Dear sir(s),

First and foremost, we request your preperation and assemply of all military forces ready and able on the border of Finland. As we are withdrawing the 5th and 1st off the Alpine Line, the5th battlegroup will be shipping North to join whatever forces your nation does assemble in an assault on Finland.

We plan to do this: Your forces will attack from the south after your borders are strengthened. Sweeping west, your forces will about face north gradually, then sweep north as soon as the southern reaches of the nation have been secured.

In the meantime, the 5th battlegroup will spearhead through the winter wastes of Finland and make for Sweden. The 5th will proced into Sweden until it reaches the capital of Sweden, hopefully by then FInland would have been secured along with the northern parts of Sweden. Your forces, joining ours, will then launch an assault on the remenants of Sweden, and will crush all oposition beneath the Iron boot of the BS alliance.

We have reason to believe that TGSR will blockade the Baltic Sea from Denmark to Norway in the interests of 'Keeping the war out of the North" and to perserve their precious fishing and shipping industries in the Baltic. We do not expect any form of aid from our enemies to Sweden.

Progress as planned. The 5th will be flown to St. Petersberg to aid in preperations as all heavy weaponry is driven North via land routes.

Time is of the essence! Pressure TGSR to Blockade the Blatic! The Empire believes that it has done enough to convince TGSR of the wisdon of doing such, and added pressure from your respectable nation should only compound our efforts.

OOC: erm... ok. Seeing how you won't post locations otherwise "They are on <Insert Name here> Island!" (And these Islands arn't terrible small...), im going to proceed...

Above Menorca, Baleric Isles.

Fighters roared ahead, and began to fly patterns above the City of Mao and surrounding countryside. As more and more fighters joined the circling craft, the bomberwing would approach, going ahead towards Mallorca, picking up additional escorts. Esseitially, half of the initial fighter force (of 450 fighters) was left behind (225 fighters) as the rest (Again, 225 fighters) screamed ahead with the bombers towards the Airfeild in Palma. Targets streamed into the computers onbord the fighters and the bombers, targeting all communications infastructure. Both forces, including the one lingering over Mao, then proceeded to mercilessly bomb all communications. (IE: Radio towers, Satilite comminications arrays, cellphone towers, etc, all while moving in a group.) After the work was done in Mao, the fighters were to proceed to attack all communications accorss the Island, in a coordinated group.

As this occured the 500 fighters along with the Ospreys approached Menorca. The fighters were to ensure no interference, and were to attack/strafe all resistance on that part of the Island.

A force of 20,000 men were to land on the feilds south of Mao, and were to take the city and the airfeilds to the south and south west.

A force of 10,000 was to fly towards the feilds South of S'Algar, securing all areas south of of Mao and east of E 4 12' 54", then proceeding to set up a watch along the coast and to form a front in conjunction with the capture of the Airfeild to the north.

A force of 3,000 were to Land on the Island and unidentified facilities just to the east of Villacarlos, and were to secure that cite, then move accross the bridge.

A force of 1,000 soldiers were to land in all cleared areas adjacent to the said bridge and were to hold it.

A force of 1,000 troops were to quickly secure Villa Carlos itself, then leapfrog to the feilds North of Mao, where they would be joined by another force of 10,000.

And the 5,000 remaining Infantry were to be landed North in the feilds of N 39 55' 30", where they were to hold and wait for the force of 4,000 from the south to clear the forested area to their south and join them.

A curfew was to be enacted in all occupied areas forcing all civilians to remain indoors, or otherwise be shot.

A breif version: Infantry were to clear Mao and all surrounding areas w/ Fighter support. Then, after having cleared and formed a front, will then dig in, adjust positions, or advance depending on responce and circumstance.

A force of 2,000 fighters is to be launched from Imperial Air base North of Rome to sweep over the Island. Launch time is to occur when landing confirmation is heard from Imperial Guard, and force is intended to relieve force of 500 Fighters circling above the Island. Bomber wing, after having expended munitions, is to be escorted abck by all of Intial fighter wing just as the force of 20,000 fighters arrives.

No less than 10 spy satilites are focusing on the Baleric Isles, monitering all movement on the island.

Other Movements:

1st Battlegroup is retracted from the line, and is moving towards Central Italy, near/around Bologna. The 5th battlegroup is preparing to leave the line, as all local TO's return to their homes.

Coast watch has been enacted, as volenteers and TO shifts coordinate with local Police forces to keep a close watch on the Coast. Coastal patrol Boats have increaced along with ariel patrols 9small groups of Helicopters patroling at random for extended periods of time. All defences in Europe are activated.

IC: What a shock it must to been when to the Vineyardian’s when the missiles were able to get through and damage the runaway and surrounded buildings. Unbeknownst to the Vineyardians, the airfield was of little use and other arrangements had already been made.

With advance warning, coming from long range radar based in Corsica and in the air near Corsica, hundreds of aircraft could be seen and it was indeed a sight to behold. Even, for their opening attack the Vineyardians were throwing everything at us. A wise move given the capability of the Iberian Kingdom. While, the Republic could never expect to meet the sheer numbers the Vineyardians had-they could counter in quality. What good was a multi-million dollar aircraft if your pilots had little to no training. The Vineyardians could spend all their money on quantity, like the Russians they would soon learn that quality would beat quantity every time. [OCC: Also, you seem to focus more on your army too. So, as I said long ago- I’m fine with the large numbers of equipment you have, however that must come with a price. You wanted quantity, well now you got it and have to live with it’s results. In real life, militaries have to strike a balance between quantity and quality, as you can’t have the best of both worlds. It, just doesn’t work that way. It’s one or the other.]

With an estimate of over four hundred aircraft heading their way, the Iberian Kingdom could never dream of fielding so many fighters at once. However, with their main bases closer and fighting over their home soil. They wouldn’t need to outnumber the enemy force but merely needing to match it to some degree. This the Iberian Kingdom could do. From Torrejón Air Force Base the 12th Group would be committed lending it’s 48 Eurofighters, from Albacete-Los Llanos Air Force Base came the 14th EATO Reaction Group with it’s 48 Rafale Fighters, the 15th Fighter Group from Zaragoza Air Force Base would also lend it’s weight to the counterattack with 72 Eurofighters. With a total of 168 fighters, while it was below what the Vineyardians were sending- it would have to do and it would do. However, supporting those 168 fighters were another 120 fighters that could join the fight if need be.

As death and destruction rained down on Mallorca and Menorca Islands by the bomber wing, no response was returned from the Kingdom. The radars remained quiet and the fighters remained out of radar range of the enemy waiting for the signal to be sent screaming in. Though large parts of the civilian structures were being damage or destroyed, the task of hiding and waiting for the moment to activate the Air Defenses of the Balearic Islands was paying off. The enemy had no idea, what they were in for. With most of the 450 fighters configured for and occupied with ground attack, this left little in the way of pure air defense fighters that were armed with nothing but, Air-to Air missiles as they Iberian Fighters were to defend the incoming Ospreys.

Finally, the enemy had presented the golden moment the Iberian’s had been waiting for. With the order sent, the 168 fighters hit their afterburners and rapidity accelerated to Mach 1.3 and above. Catching the enemy by surprise, the Iberian Fighters had caught the enemy aircraft approaching the Balearic Islands from behind and below the Iberian Fighters. They Iberian pilots had achieved the first goal in starting a dogfight. They had secured the upper hand and now prepared to press home their advantage. From 40 miles out it wouldn’t be long before they closed on the enemy, to separate the Fighters that were guarding the Ospreys, all aircraft locked on to a enemy fighter and then suddenly all those who had a clear shot at once shouted “Fox Three". All those in the fighter wing who had been unable to fire, within twenty seconds had repositioned for a clear shot and fired their long-range missiles. A total of 168 AMRAAM missiles, divided into two waves spaced apart by 20 seconds were now well on there way to their targets and with a 90% success rate it was unlikely most of the enemy fighters targeted would survive. With the remaining fighters left in confusion, the Rafale Fighters would take on the Ospreys and the Eurofighters would continue to engage the remaining fighters this time with Air to Air combat. The Iberian Pilots preferred the gun, but were also very well trained in the use of Missiles. Soon, very soon a massive Dogfight would erupt above the skies of the Balearic Islands not seen sense the days of World War Two.

IC: While the massive air battle was just beginning near Menorca Island, the battle taking place in the skies over Mallorca Island were a matter all together different. It was without a single doubt a completely one sided affair with the Vineyardian Fighters and Bombers having total Air Superiority over the Balearic Islands or so they thought. That is until, the Integrated Air Defense Network of the Balearic Islands was activated. Having keep the Launch platforms hidden and the Radars off, except for decoys. The Networks had survived the onslaught and were still, except for a few lucky strikes, fully in place and ready to go operational within minutes. Combining Airborne radars, Ship radars and ground based radars. There wasn’t a single Aircraft that could escape detection.

All the commanders need was the go ahead and soon, very soon the destruction visited down upon the Balearic Islands would be returned and this time in greater force. With the engagement finally beginning, it was time to unleash Hell upon the demons sent from the Vineyardians so called Empire. Almost all at once, the entire network come online. With less then a minute, over a hundred targets had been locked on too. From, bombers to fighters- it was all the same. Less, then a minute after that the signal was given at last. “FIRE”. Without warning, hundreds of SAM’s from both land and sea shot into the sky. Within less then 10 seconds at most, they would find their target and eradicate the pestilence that plagued the lands of the Iberian Kingdom. Even, if the first launched missed- within a few seconds additional launches could and would be used if necessary.

SIC: With the battle just beginning, the High Command could clearly see that the Balearic Islands were the key to the Vineyardians plan. It was therefore decided to quickly reinforce the Islands as soon as humanly possible. The quickest answer was to, instead of sending a whole new unit, to dissemble one and transport those units to the Islands. The unit choose for this would be the 10th "Espana" Infantry Division. The 10th would be maintained as a unit and would be rebuilt once new men and material become available. Meanwhile, the new unit in the Balearic Islands would be known as the Baleares Infantry Division, the existing units of the Balearic Islands would be integrated with the units arriving from the 10th "Espana" Infantry Division. Most of the unit would still be concentrated on Menorca and Mallorca, with a small detachment guarding Ibiza Island. The estimated time of completion for this was around 48 hours, by then the reserves would be ready. To further support the troops in the Balearic Islands, if need be was the 2nd "Paracaidista" Parachute Regiment. In less then a few hours the 2nd could join the fight, but for right now it was wait and see. There is no reason to disturb your enemy when he is making a mistake.

25 Missles screamed out of silos from a feild near Bologna. Immediatly, their guidance systems were seized by their counterpart satilites, which guided them towards their respective targets while the very same satilite tracked it. Sea and Airports were targeted, ment to ruin any hopes and chances of reinforcements for the Republic.

Of the 500 approaching Fighters accompanying the ospreys, each one had a TAURUS KEPD 350 Cruise Missle attached. As soon as the order was confirmed, the missles were released, screaming towards all AA sights--as many as could be had.

The first row of fighters fired their missles, then banked right, heading for the rear of the escort as those who were formerly behind them fired their missles, and did the same.

The Eurofighters took a hard right, leaving a large cloud of chaff in their wake. Surely the missle's radar systems would be jammed, and they would either detonate or decend into the sea.

The Eurofighters then Made a hard left, missles armed and ready. By now a satilite had been redesignated, and an accurate count and readout of the enemy was provided for the Fighters.

A stream of 250 Iris-T's surged towards the enemy fighters as the range between the two groups quickly closed. Only time would tell how successful the barrage was. The Eurofightetrs still had plenty of Chaff, Flares, and munitions left for combat. And more importantly, Their training and previous fights against forign air combattents kept the pilots of the Empire in no short supply of nerves.

Moments after the enemy fired their Missiles, the first wave of the 168 AMRAAM Missiles using their mid-course update provided by the fighters and AWACS aircraft (which was based in the area but, left out of range of the enemy radar) had locked onto some of the 250 fighters coming towards them. With the enemy fighters leaving their chaff far behind them, the protection offered by this action had been null and voided. "PITBULL" was heard over the radio as the fighters missiles had switched to their autonomous self-guidance phase. The Vineyardians had made a big mistake, that had played right into the hands of the Iberian Forces. With the two groups now in a head on engagement the missiles hit rate was now at it’s greatest.

Without little warning, the missiles struck their targets. In a blip of a second, ? enemy fighters had vanished from the radar. Though the initial wave had been decimated, there were still 250 IRIS-T Missiles coming their way. To deal with these missiles, the Iberian forces used the oldest trick in the book. In what could only be described as the perfection of coordination of maneuver, something all pilots in the Republican Air Force were taught. The entire 168 fighters, with half the group turning hard right and the other half turning left, made a complete 180 degree turn and headed back in the direction they had come from. To the enemy, it probably looked like the entire force was retreating. But, their was method to this madness. As the range increased, it wouldn’t be long before the IRIS-T Missiles reached their 25 km ranged and ran out of energy.

Upon seeing this happen, the Iberian fighters did another complete 180 and returned the favor. With another radar lock on, the remaining enemy fighters in the strike group were targeted.

"Fox Three". At the sound of those two words another 96 AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles divided into three groups of thirty-two missiles each and spaced apart by twenty-to-thirty second firing intervals were on their way and traveling at Mach 4 it wouldn’t be long before they also reached their targets. It was only a matter of time. In less then a few minutes, the odds against the Iberian Forces in the Air had been greatly equaled.

<The Balearic Islands>
Having Mobile Anti-Air defenses now proved handy, with both long range and short range Air Defense Systems standing by- the incoming cruise missiles were locked into the guidance systems of the various Missile Defense Systems including those on board ships out at sea around the Balearic Islands. The amount of missiles released was staggering, those cruise missiles that managed to get through the huge wall of flak from the Skyguard Air Defense System and Standard/Patriot/NASAMS Missile Air Defense Systems crashed harmlessly into the countryside when they were unable to located their designated targets or into the numerous sensor decoys that were deployed throughout the Islands. If, the Vineyardians wanted to take out the AA defenses of the Iberian Forces-they were going to need to do more then launch a few cruise missiles against targets they weren’t designed to destroy. If, this is all the Vineyardians had, this war was going to be quick and end in complete victory for the Kingdom of Iberia.

However, the war was just getting started and who knew what else the Vineyardians had, then again-no one knew what the Iberian’s had planned. Soon, they would know-very soon.

Elements from the 8th Field Army are still arriving in town. We are having trouble finding places for the sudden influx of men and equipment to stay. We need to leave soon, this is creating too much of a strain on the town.

Right now, the Marines on Diego Garcia are preparing to move out within the day. And we know their mission is to create a beachhead for us to move onto, and they are adequately prepared. They currently have 2 missile destroyers and 2 frigates escorting them."

"Good. Notify Delhi that we will be ready soon. And have them wish the Marines luck for me."

We are preparing to launch our strikeforce from the port of Bombay. Contained in it are two full Field Armies, and then change from a 3rd Field Army. With them will be two of our most powerful warships, the CVN's IRN Viksharnt and Viraat. We hope this is plenty of firepower for the needs.

Interestingly enough, there was no mention of the advanced Marine force. Indian intel hoped the transmission would be intercepted. While they did attempt to make the transmission secure, they did make it accessible through a little bit of work.

From the forecastle of the troop transport, he looked out into the sea. Around him were numerous transport ships, transporting his Marine Expeditionary force across the sea. Protecting them were a couple of powerful destroyers, and two sub hunting frigates. They however were way out front, creating a protective screen infront of the convoy.

To General Nishan, this would be his crowning acheivement. He had fought long and hard to create the marines, fighting the bureaucrats and hierarchy to have this elite force created. This would be his chance to prove himself, and he wasn't about to let it sleep away for any reason.

Multiple news channels began to cover the incident within Georgetown, and the news is broadcast through every news media available, including radio, internet, newspapers, and television. With the constant influx of grim images, first-hand eyewitness accounts, and several massive pledge drives to aid Georgetown, shock spread throughout Sharina within the following week. The shock is replaced by a burning anger and a desire to exact vengeance to avenge the lives lost in what came to be known as the Georgetown Massacre.

At approximately 6:15 PM, Pacific Standard Time one and one-half weeks after the attacks in Georgetown, the radio and television broadcasts were interrupted by an emergency broadcast. The newscasters were quickly prompted to announce that Grand Technocrat Mina Veristek was to make an address to the nation. Almost immediately afterwards, the television broadcast switched over to the Conference Chamber, where vital press conferences are usually held.

Mina Veristek walked briskly towards the podium in the center of the stage, in front of a large sapphire background with the Sharinan flag within it. The room was quite silent, as the news reporters and journalists dared not to interrupt Mina as she had an angry look on her face. She stared straight at the camera as she began to speak.

"People of Sharina and the world, I come before you today with a statement that must be made. The evidence at the Georgetown Massacre points the finger at the Republic of United Nations. The spent bullet casings, aircraft profiles, and several other pieces of evidence reveal the weapons, ammunition, and such are European in origin.

This horrific atrocity committed by the Republic of United Nations must not be allowed to stand. They killed at least seven hundred civilians and a hundred police officers. They even attacked Governor John Ibis of the Cayman Islands inside his own home. The Republic proclaims peace, yet commits in such atrocious actions. This attack upon the Cayman Islands clearly means only one thing- the Republic is planning to invade the Cayman Islands despite proclaiming peace.

The Republic must answer for their crimes today in Georgetown, and the slain civilians shall be avenged. Sharina will not rest until justice is brought upon those responible. The Republic has made a grave mistake by attacking Sharina in such an underhanded and atrocious manner, and now will pay the consquences for doing so.

The Sharinan people will not be denied their vengeance, and the deaths of those at Georgetown will not go unanswered. What if the Republic decides to visit another Georgetown Massacre upon another peaceful Sharinan island? Tourist center? College students enjoying their vacations? Nay, the Republic will not undertake such a massacre ever again, because Sharina shall ensure that the Republic's military will be utterly destroyed to the point that the Republic will not be able to produce their own weapons of war, nor use them aganist innocent people. By the time Sharina finishes with its vengeance, the Republic will be unable to lift even a pistol in anger ever again.

Sharina shall prevail, and our cause is just. We shall punish the dastardly and despicable Republic to the full extent of our vengeance. A state of war now exists between Sharina and the Republic of United Nations.

Mina Veristek walked off the stage, amid a thunderous round of applause and cheering. No questions needed to be asked, for Mina had provided all the answers the reporters needed to know in her speech.

One word is broadcast through the military bases and assets within Sharina.

"Engage."

Almost immediately, hundreds of warplanes, including B-2's, B-52's, B-70's, F-22's, F-18's, and F-16's began taking off from airbases across New England, the Caribbean islands, Latin America, and the West Coast, while air patrols over significant bases, civilian centers, and strategic targets are tripled. Aircraft carriers based in the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans began launching their F-18 Hornets and bringing their anti-aircraft defenses to maximum readiness. The launched F-22's, F-18's, and F-16's begin escorting the bomber fleets towards South America. Sharinan warships began bringing their defenses to maximum, while Sharinan submarines in the Caribbean and Atlantic began probing the waters for Republic submarines.

The Sharinan fleets began converging upon the Windward Islands and the northern coastlines of Venezula. A taskforce of twenty Sharinan submarines began blockading the Straits of Gilbratar, having departed their Bahamas submarine pens a couple of weeks earlier. Hundreds of Sharinan cruise missile silos began activating throughout Latin America and the Caribbean islands.

A large force of nearly a quarter-million jungle and mountainous trained troops began marching upon Venezeula from the general vicinity of Colombia and Ecaudor. The troops had just one goal in mind, the utter and complete destruction of all Republican military assets, and annexation of Venezeula and other Republican South American assets into the Technocracy.

At least five hundred cruise missiles roared out of their silos, on a straight course for all Republic naval assets, airfields both military and civilian, and various anti-aircraft defenses such as RADAR stations and SAM batteries. One hundred B-2's, fifty B-70's, and two hundred B-52's aircraft began their bombing runs aganist targets throughout Venzeula including significant military bases, naval shipyards, ground force concentrations, airfields, surviving SAM sites, surviving RADAR sites, and so forth. The B-2's are ordered to engage anti-aircraft defenses including SAM and RADAR sites plus airfields where enemy bombers are located as the B-2's are practically undetectable on modern anti-aircraft defense screens. The B-70's are ordered to attack military bases and naval shipyards, along with finishing up any surviving airbases from the B-2 strikes. The B-52's are issued orders to destroy ground troop concentrations with heavy carpet bombing, and destruction of any logistics depots, supply depots, and military factories. The B-2's were to go in first, followed by B-70's escorted with medium fighter cover as it is very difficult for any fighter aircraft to keep pace with a B-70, then finally the B-52's with heavy fighter escort.

A similiar number of aircraft with similiar mission parameters take off towards Argentina and the remainder of Republican assets within South America. A strike force of just a hundred B-2's are sent out aganist Republican military holdings in Europe, particularly Spain as a deep penetrating raid upon any and all Republican airbases, supply depots, naval yards, military factories, and logistics centers in Europe.

The airstrikes are intended to arrive at night to maximize the B-2's stealth capability in addition to making it far harder for enemy fighters to gain visuals upon all Sharinan aircraft. All Sharinan B-2's are carrying a classified non-nuclear payload within the three theaters of attack in addition to conventional precision munitions.

Sharina is determined to hit the Republic fast and hard, and destroy all Republican air strength before it can fully mobilize.

War has begun with a vengeance unparalleled in Sharinan history.

EDIT:

I added in a couple of sentences detailing the missions of the aircraft in more detail, plus the sequence of entry- which bombers go first. I also added a clarification on fighters. I also clarified that the airstrikes were occuring at night-time, which should have been apparent given the war declaration was made at 6:15 PM Eastern Standard Time, meaning it's dark at the equator at roughly around 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Darker the further south you go into the Southern Hemisphere during the summer, which is apparently the time period we are RP'ing in as the hurricane / storm struck the Cayman Islands at the same time Vineyard did would most likely occur between June and September.

The editing was discussed in the OOC war thread over the past couple of days.

OCC: I’m going to divided the following post up into three regions to make it easier to figure what’s happening where. Venezuela and the Caribbean will be one region, Argentina and the rest of South America will be the second region and Europe will be the third region. As the war progresses I either add more regions or remove them pending on where the fighting is taking place or whats happening where.

IC: What all in the Republic had for so long been dreading had finally come, war had erupted in North America. Still, the Republic had seen this war coming since the early days of the United Netherlands and they had prepared accordingly. All preparations they could have been made, had been made. The Republic had the resources, the manpower and the will as it knew it’s cause was just. What the Republic also had was the home advantage and a clear strategic goal to win the war. While, no plan ever survives intact upon contact with the enemy, the Republic had good leaders and brave well trained soldiers who would carry the Republic to victory and a lasting peace in South America.

Venezuela/Caribbean- Though some of the five hundred cruise missiles had been managed to be shot down, specially around vital targets which included the Shipyards, Naval Bases, Army Bases and Air Force Bases, where the highest concentration of the air defenses were situated. The damage done to the civilian airfields, on the other hand was extensive and yet their destruction had little effect upon the military capabilities of the armed forces of the Republic and specifically the Venezuelan military. While, the Sharina military had sought their destruction was at best questionable. Still, the Republic was quite content to let the Sharina military complex waste their resources on civilian targets and other unless targets. It would only further strengthen the resolve of the people of the Republic. Yet, the Republican military leaders knew that this was just the opening salvo of the attack and that soon the Bombers and ground forces of the Sharina military would follow. While, the Republic had expected the Sharina’s to send nothing, but stealth bombers. A eventually the Republican military had been preparing for with the fielding of radars capable of detecting just such aircraft. While, these were new radars and bugs were expected. They would give the Republic a clear tactical advantage even with their limitations. The fact that the Sharina’s had sent along B-52s and B-70s, with the B-2s had surprised many in the Republic as these aircraft could and in time would be shot down. The additional blunder of the Sharina’s sending their bombers without air escort was yet another surprise to those watching the massive wave of bombers approach. Either the Sharina’s were so arrogant of their abilities to the point of being complacent or this was a trick. Yet, even if it was a trick the Sharina’s had given the Republic a golden opportunity and even the Republic was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

As the massive air group neared or entered Republican air space, hundreds of fighters along with those fighters already airborne pounced on their prey from all directions. From above, below, behind and ahead-missiles came from every direction. Those bombers that managed to get through the fighters would in turn be engaged by the Patriots and other missile air defense systems waiting for them. With the ability to detect and engage 100 targets up to and above 80,000 ft and capable of a speed of Mach 5, even the B-70s speed and high attitude capability would not be enough to protect it from attack. As for the B-2s, while some missiles were fired at possible B-2s locations, the amount brought down was unknown if any at all. Yet, the experience gained during this opening battle would greatly benefit those operating the radars and air defense systems. Meanwhile, the ground forces held their defensive positions all along the border of Columbia. While no attack was launched, key units such as the Armored Divisions began to move towards the border with Columbia. Meanwhile, all Republican Naval assets operating in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea were contacted and ordered to sink any Sharinan or Vineyardian vessel spotted. In the meantime, those ships not damaged in the opening attacks set sail for the Windward Islands were they would form the Caribbean Fleet. At the same time, the Windward Islands defenses were put on high alert. Which, included the laying of defensive minefields at key points.

Argenguay- While the attack on Venezuela happen fairly soon, it would take a few hours before the bombers reached the nations of Argentina/Paraguay. If, Argenguay was part of this war-it was time to get it involved and that meant getting troops to the enemy. To this effect, a Carrier Strike Group was dispatched which included 1 Charles De Gaulle Aircraft Carrier, 1 Cavour Class Aircraft Carrier, 2 Arleigh Burke Class (Aegis) Destroyers, 4 De Zeven Provincien class Destroyers, 2 F100 Alvaro de Bazan Class Frigates, 2 Astute Class Nuclear Submarines, 1 Segura Class Minehunter and1 RFA Fort Victoria Class Fleet Replenishment ship. Following a few hours later, by which time the CSG would be entering the Pacific, was the amphibious ready group (ARG). The following ships made up the ARG- 3 Rotterdam Class LPDs, 3 Mistral Class LPHs, 1 Arleigh Burke Class (Aegis) Destroyer, 2 De Zeven Provincien class Destroyers, 2 F100 Alvaro de Bazan Class Frigates, 1 Astute Class Submarine and 1 Patagonia (Durance class AOR). Once the Amphibious Assault Group entered the Pacific Ocean, it too would turn due north. On board the ships of the Amphibious Assault Group were the elite of the Argenguay military. One more ship had also joined the what was now becoming the Pacific fleet and that was one of the Vanguard Class Cruise Missile Submarine, which had been converted to carry Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles instead of Ballistic Missiles. To reduce their chance of being detected all ships departed at night. About the same all this was happening, the other Vanguard Class SSGN submarine on patrol way out in the Pacific slowly began inching it’s way towards Sharina Territorial waters.

After hours of waiting the Sharina Bomber Fleet had arrived and the same reception they had received near or above Republican airspace in Venezuela was visited again upon the un-guarded bombers above Argenguay airspace. With such a large amount of aircraft in the air, it was hard not to hit something. Still, the Sharina Technocracy wouldn’t make that mistake again of sending unguarded bombers ahead without a fighter escort or having at least tried to gain Air Superiority. Still, the damage had been done and large parts of Sharina’s air assets had been damaged or better yet destroyed. It would take time for Sharina to regroup from these losses, yet he still had his fighter forces intact. The next battle would be even bigger and a high loss of life was expected on both sides.

Europe- With nearly 8-9 hours before the enemy bombers would arrive, the defense of Europe would be well prepared for the incoming bombers. A complete blackout was in effect in both countries and all air defenses were on stand by. Ready, to be activated within a moments notice While, the Iberian and Royal Netherlands Air Force wouldn’t be able to get all the bombers it could get some. As, the people and military leaders of the Iberian Kingdom and the United Netherlands waited patiently for the attack to come, not all was quiet in Europe. In the time it took for the Bombers to arrive, a small fleet of warships had been dispatched from the Netherlands. Composed of this fleet were 1 Buque de Proyección Estratégica Class Aircraft Carrier, 3 De Zeven Provincien class Destroyers, 4 F100 Alvaro de Bazan Frigates, 1 Rotterdam Class LPD and 1 Amsterdam/Patino Class AOR supply ship. With only ten ships making up the fleet as soon the fleet entered the stormy North Sea-the small fleet would be impossible to track and thereby attack. Joining the fleet on board the “HrMs Johan de Witt”, was the “Drebbel Marine Battalion”. While, this fleet sailed for the North Atlantic- a single Vanguard Class SSGN on patrol in the North Atlantic changed it’s course that pointed it directly towards Eastern Canada.

Where these three fleets were heading was keep under the tightest security. Not, until the ships had been well out at sea were the crews informed. The Republican Navy had the ability to strike anywhere, anytime and it was now using that ability to it’s full effect. There was no place in the Sharina Empire that was safe from attack from the Republic. If, the Sharina Empire wanted a war by god, the Republic was going to give them a war they would soon not forget.

D-day would involve all-out aerial bombardment of military bases (with the 90 MiG-31M interceptors kept in reserve), followed by a combined ground and air assault on Helsinki (with three "staging point divisions" kept in reserve). Jovičić believed this would force the capitulation of Finland in one or two days, the objective of the operation.

OCC: From the looks of it, this American War or whatever name it has is not going anywhere anytime soon, so here is it’s FIN [END]. As very little has happen during the conflict I couldn’t exactly incorporate it into the history of my nation(s) or yours for that matter. While, at the same time I couldn’t exactly ignore what little has happened. I also, had to take into account conflicts of interest. Hence, I came up with the following solution. Before, I state what that solution is I would like to make clear that whether you agree with the outcome or not, I consider the matter closed. I am moving on and while, I may edit this post to address concerns any of you might raise, I will not be making any more posts after this post concerning this particular war.

If anyone, wants to have a war with me or anyone else for that matter in the future, I hope the following will be cleared up ahead of time, in addition to other factors that I have left out or arise before a player vs player conflict starts...

All outstanding Roleplays of the percipients have been finished.
All percipients are sure for at least the next few weeks/months that will be active at least once a week. Furthermore, they are sure they will be able to get a post up once a week concerning their moves.
An easy method of calculating losses is assessable to all members or some type of understanding between the various percipients is reached about calculating their own losses.
At least two active war mods are approved ahead of time to oversee the results and address any concerns the percipients raise.

Now with that all said, the solution I came up with was to have this war be a simulated tactical/strategic warfare scenario that was conducted deep in the bowls of the Republic’s military headquarters. I have included where possible what you all posted during the brief war. Hence, the war happen and yet at the same time it hasn’t happen. It is my hope that the solution I have come up with strikes a balance between what a war between the Republic, the Sharina Technocracy and the Vineyard Empire would have looked like while at the same time causing no undo harm to our nations and thereby creating conflict of interests.

The Build Up: As a possible war between the Sharinan and Vineyardian people edged ever closer, a be prepared attitude began to develop among the various member nations of the Republic. What would a war be like given the capabilities of all three nations? Should the Republic adapt a purely defensive stance, an offensive stance or a mix of both? What advantages did the Republic have, what were it’s disadvantages? What advantages did the Sharina Technocracy and the Empire of Vineyard have, what were it’s disadvantages given the knowledge of their forces and political background? To answer all these questions and more, the various military figures of the Republic got together and began one of the most elaborate wargames ever assembled. Even what seemed to be the most minuscule of details was recorded and factored in. The war had begun, but who would win remained to be answered!

The Ground War: Though, most of the war would be fought in the air and on and under the seas. The ground war did see it’s piece of the action, with the majority of it being fought in Northern South America and all along the Eastern Caribbean with the rest located in Southern South America, Southern Europe and in the Eastern Pacific. In the opening weeks of the war, the start of what would be the focal point of the war developed all along the Colombian-Venezuelan border. During, those opening weeks the Sharinan military had launched a full scale invasion of Venezuela and the Eastern Caribbean Islands held by the Republic. As two-hundred and fifty thousand Sharinan troops poured into western Venezuela, the size and scope of the operation had caught many of those in the Republic by surprise.

Though, the Venezuelan Army had a limited numerical superiority in the region compared to it’s rival the Sharinan military. This one area in superiority the Republic had over the Sharinan military would in the end last only a few months as the advantages of the Sharinan’s Air superiority, Naval superiority and greater population base took it’s toll. Further, weakening it’s numerical superiority was the war of attrition that developed as the Venezuelan armed forces were slowly, but steadily pushed back towards the Guyana-Brazilian border. With the final months of the land war in South America, turning from a slow retreat into a major route as the Sharinans at last achieved a major breakthrough. By the end of the first year of the war, the only major strongholds the Republic had left in Northern South American were on the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago and in the hills and river valleys of Venezuela and Guyana.

While, the war waged in Venezuela-the Republic saw the slow systemic loss of it’s Caribbean holdings from the few Islands in had in the Leeward Islands to those in the Windward Islands, Aruba and the rest of the Lesser Antilles. The ground war in Southern South American, meanwhile saw little to no action due to it’s geographic isolation and the tremendous losses both sides had suffered in manpower and material with an estimated loss of around three-hundred thousand for each side not including the loss in civilian lives. On the other side of the Atlantic, the war in Southern Europe took on the image of the tides as it’s flow ebb back and forth. The Vineyardians launching a invasion of the Baleares Islands, capturing the main islands of Mallorca and Menorca, and eventually losing control of them as the Republic from it’s bases in the two remaining Baleares Islands and from mainland Spain launched a counter-invasion. This cycle repeating as the Republic launched repeated invasions of parts of Italy, getting expelled and the Vineyardians following with their own invasion of mainland Spain or in some cases the re-invasion of the Baleares Islands and themselves getting expelled. With neither side able to make any headway, a long war of attrition set in with each side trying to counter the other in a game of never ending chess with neither side able to gain an advantage over the other.

As in all wars, each side launched operations in hoped would win the war in their favor, but in hindsight turned out to be doomed to failure. During, the early stages of the war the Vineyardians had launched a large invasion of the United Netherlands with an entire battlegroup with over 70,000 personnel. What seemed to many in the Republic to be a bold and reckless plan, if everything had worked as planned would in all likelihood have saw the Netherlands knocked out of the war for good, however it was not to be. While, the opening invasion was a shock to the Republic that the Vineyardians would even contemplate such an operation. The invasion itself was no surprise to those involved in the planning to defend the United Netherlands in case of an invasion. While, an invasion by the Vineyardians had never been foreseen, a possible war between the United Netherlands and The Great Sixth Reich however unlikely had been planned for and training had been accordingly. During, the first few hours of the invasion it was mistaking believed that The Great Sixth Reich was the one attacking, but once it was properly determined that it was instead the Vineyardians, the same plans developed in case of invasion from Germany and TGSR were put into effect to deal with the Vineyardians.

With the majority of it’s troops already based along the German border, the same disadvantages the Republic had in the closing days of the war in Venezuela were revisited upon the Vineyardians to the same devastating effect. Within weeks, the Vineyardians had lost an entire battlegroup. That however was not the worse of it, the political fallout both within the Vineyardian military command structure and the tensions that arose between The Great Sixth Reich would continue to plague the Empire of Vineyard long after the war. While, not as disastrous as the Vineyardian invasion of the United Netherlands, the Republican invasion of Hawaii also met with a disastrous end as the Republic’s lost in men and material resulted in the gain of nothing, but in throwing the Republican war effort into chaos for weeks.

The Air War: Before, the ground war had even got under way the Republic found it self in a fight for it’s life in the skies above Venezuela, the Kingdom of Iberia and the United Netherlands. All told, the Sharinan military had launched a massive air campaign with aircraft numbering in the thousands. At the most, the Republic only had at it’s disposal a few hundred fighters for air defense in each of the theater of operations with the majority concentrated in key outposts throughout Europe. Once the Vineyardians joined the war against the Republic a few days later and brought their force of over ten thousand fighters and bombers into the mix, the Republic found itself on a two front war heavily outgunned and outmanned. It was at this point that the Republic made it’s greatest mistake of the war, by deciding to concentrate all available resources against the war with the Empire of Vineyard, the fate of Venezuela and the Eastern Caribbean had been sealed.

With it’s attention diverted towards Italy and the Vindyardians it was only a matter of weeks, before the Sharinan military finally gained Air Superiority and through this was finally able to push the Republican military out of Venezuela. With the loss of it’s strategic oil reserves, it wasn’t long before the resources of the Republic become strained and the strategic options available to the Republic becoming ever more limited as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months. Further, adding to the woes of the Republic was the constant bombing raids on the industrial centers of the Republic. With no long range bombers of it’s own, the Republic had no way to responded in kind with it’s own bombing runs. As, the leaders and people of the Republic slowly watched their cities and towns turn to rubble the enemy sat for the most part safely untouched by the war. By the end of the war, the Republic had for the most part reached the end of it’s line. The Republic had lost the air war and for that it sat as a demoralized and defeated foe.

The War at Sea: By all accounts the war at sea got underway and unfolded in a similar way the war at sea had run it’s course during the opening years of World War Two. With most of the action focused in and around the North Atlantic and by extension the Caribbean Sea/Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea. While conflict did take place in other parts of the world’s oceans for most of the war it was confined to the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. The Sharinan Navy proved the toughest in combating and the Republic was never truly able to counter the massive firepower of the Sharinan Navy through it’s Battleships, Aircraft Carriers, Cruisers, Destroyers and Nuclear Powered Attack subs. The advanced Virginia Class subs of the Sharinan Navy proving the most troublesome as they roam up and down the European coast sinking anything bearing the flag of the Republic. In the Caribbean Sea, the massive Sharinan Fleet numbering in the thousands soon made it’s mark felt as it bombarded both from the air and from the sea the lands of the Republic. Finally, launching when the time was right a massive seaborne invasion of the Republican controlled islands in the Caribbean. Like the air war, the Republic fought as hard as it could, but through a war of attrition it’s navy was finally ground down to a pulp.

Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean the Republic was fearing much better. With the Vineyardians have no large capital ships like Battleships or Aircraft Carriers and few if any major warships to speak of as the Vineyardians had concentrated most of their military resources on their Air Force. It wasn’t long before almost the entire Western Mediterranean was in the hands of the Republic. Through this control, the Republic was able to launch massive invasions of the Italian coast with little to no warning. Still, while the Vineyardians had neglected their Navy, their Army and Air Force was at it’s prime and proved to tough of a nut to crack and as a result the Republic was never able to fully establish a bridgehead on the Italian coast. Still, while the Republic was able to gain control of the Mediterranean this advantage had little to no effect on the outcome of the war. And so it went back and forth for nearly a year between the Republic and the Empire of Vineyard, before both sides agreed to a cease fire and eventually after a few rounds of hard negations and a little more fighting; a Peace Treaty.

The End: Though the war against the Empire of Vineyard had ended, the war against the Sharina Technocracy raged on for another few months as the Sharina military launched an invasion of Argentina to complete it’s goal of completely removing any and all influence of the Republic from South America. It was through it’s invasion of Argentina, that the Sharina armed forces finally bit off more then they could chew. Confident of their superiority over the Republic in Venezuela through their technology, many in the Sharina government now saw an easy victory in Argentina if they only continued the fight. Blinded by the truth, overestimating their abilities and underestimated the Republic’s- a massive force descended upon Argentina. However, unlike Venezuela, Argentina shared no land border with any territory in the Sharina Technocracy. With only a seaborne invasion giving any hope of allowing the Sharina military to get a foothold in Argentina, the Sharina military assembled a massive fleet not seen since the days of World War Two. Yet, even with it’s massive numerical and technology superiority over the Republic, the successful invasion and conquest of Argentina was not to be.

With mother nature working against them and fighting in terrain and weather they had never encountered before or trained for, a massive Republican force struck back. At the same time, the war in Venezuela had shifted from a conventional one to an unconventional one. The Sharina military now found itself fighting on two fronts and in two different types of wars. It wasn’t long before the leaders of the Sharina government realized that if they were to keep what they had achieved in Venezuela, some sort of agreement needed to be reached with the Republic. It wasn’t long after this realization, that the war to end all wars finally came to an end. And yet, the tensions that had resulted in the war still remained strong and along with it the possibility of another war.

Summary: After, examining the multiple outcomes of a possible war-the following conclusions began to be implemented into policy changes to give the Republic every advantage possible during a war against either the Sharina Technocracy, the Empire of Vineyard or both.

A few months after the exercise came to an end, a declassified version of the original report summary issued to all high level military commanders was released to the public. Only initiatives that had not become public in the months leading up to or after the exercise were released. The following is a declassified version of the above report summary.

1. The first and foremost lessen taken from the scenarios was that if a real war were ever to break out, even a small one between even one of above parties, almost the entire world would be drawn in and consumed by chaos as the intricate series of alliances of each nation kicked in.

2. The second and most valuable lessen learned during the exercise was that without a long range bomber of their own, the Republic would be at a severe disadvantage. Hence, the development of the Eurobomber-a European version of the Sharinan B1B.

8. The terrain in Venezuela was conductive to light infantry and not armored warfare. For this reason, a number of Venezuelan armored divisions would be disbanded and replaced with infantry divisions, regiments or special forces teams.

9. A continuation on number 1, one factor not taken into account during the exercise would be the role the various allies of each nation would play. Specially, that of the EATO alliance and the BS alliance between the Empire of Vineyard and the Republic of Great Romeo.

OCC2: As I said at the beginning, this is my last post concerning any part of the war and as such if need be I will edit this post as necessary. If, you wish to add something or find fault with something, please don’t just tell me what it is. Take what you have a problem with and rewrite it, making sure that it makes sense when combined with the rest of the paragraph as a whole.
