History
The Ravager comes from as Animarnia Industries first Introduction to attack helicopters; the Ravager is a multi role Chopper designed to go in fast, hit hard and then escape; it’s a 13,000lb death machine. It is Ruthless, cold and deadly; Designed by the Project Leader Nicole Hoone; it is the personification of her personality. flawless and cold. Descending on and enemy and unleashing a deadly hail from its claws.

Propulsion
The Ravager is equipped with Two ADI-Turbo-2106 Engines that provide 5148lbs of thrust (2574lbs each) protected by First Generation Self Sealing armour that works against all small arms and up to 20mm Armour Piecing rounds. The Engines can propel the Ravager at up to 320kph (198mph) moving at 10.5 meters per second climb. They are also the first Helicopter engines to incorporate 3D Thrust Vectoring for extra Agility and combat manoeuvring like on the F-22. The addition of a "Bust Speed" After burner to increase the speed of the craft up to 400kph (250mph) but only for a short time due to the stress this can put on the airframe and the engines.

A VTOL Thrust directional control like those used on the Harrier are also employed here for faster vertical take off an extra agility allowing the pilot to put the thrust of the engines in a different direction. All of this is designed to allow the Ravager to be a quick strike and rapid response support platform

Computers & Cockpit Electronics

Animarnia Integrated Computer and Fire Control System (AICFCS)
The Integrated Computer and Fire control system is the true master of project Cerberus using state of the air liquid cooled computer chips for processing battlefield data with precession and speed no human could reach. The heart of Cerberus controls Offensive, Defensive and Navigation systems. Uses a 1024 bit encryption protocol that re-codes every 15 seconds and up links via Satellites to all allied vehicles; aircraft and ships in theatre and uses Secured GPS tracking to track there positions in real time in relative position to the craft. It also links to spy satellites and radar installations to identify and track up to 1000 Simultaneous threats at any one time and inform the pilots of the closest and most dangerous threats to them. The system also reads data from the internal sensor systems and radar to create a full real time realty replication of any given battlefield giving the crew/pilot a distinct advantage for tactical planning. The system also automatically controls all defensive systems and engages them as needed such as the ECM and Point Defence Lasers warning crew of coming threats.

This can all be fed to a Pilot or officers visor/Helmet or to display screens depending on the situation and equipped vehicles giving the crew a full 360-degree display and secure communication.

Display Systems & Avionics
All of the display screens in the cockpit are LCD flat panels and touch screen allowing a wealth of information to be displayed an menus overlay each other as options are selected and shown. The cockpit also has information projected upon it including targeting; and altitude, speed etc all relevant information for both the pilot and the gunner as required

The System also linked to the AICFCS and displays the information into the pilot's visor as a heads up display. The Gunners helmet is linked also but with the addition of a "gun cam" that is linked to the nose mounted 30mm Auto cannon and tracks with the gunners head movement for faster targeting. The one way Visor is made of glare resistant materials so that the pilot can look directly at the sun and not be blinded. Integrating with the AICFCS system means that the onboard computer can conduct advanced tactical analyses of any given situation and project information such as chance of success, and calculate casualties and potential collateral damage as well as pop up nearby threats and highlight mission objectives

All control systems can be used via the LCD displays or via voice command; the Ravager is also fitted with a prototype neural control Interface that uses a neural network to read nerve impulses like normal controls and operate accordingly.

Design
As Stated the Ravager was design for quick strike, Support and rapid response support operation; it's powerful but not necessarily stealthy. So the design was important to be protected and have combat survivability without sacrificing too much speed. The main structure is created using genetically engineered Silk worms to create a synthetic alloy called "Silk Steel" which is as playable and light as Aluminium but amazingly strong with a melting point of 5000 Kelvin. Silk steel takes a while to produce from dedicated farms and is not in abundance but is extremely useful and has a high tensile strength. The cockpit is encased with a double layering of silk steel with a sandwich layer of self-sealing materials to provide maximum safety for the pilot and onboard systems. The engines and fuel cells are encased in flame retardant foam to prevent fires from getting out of hand or spreading to the fuselage or cockpit.

The glass of the cockpit is duel layered reinforced bullet proof so that flying shards or bullets don’t penetrate it with a sandwich layer of silk steel mesh. The sides and bottom of the cockpit are layered with a combination of reinforced Kevlar and Heat Reconstruction materials which when heated to a certain temperature, which all bullets would reach upon impact, it hardens to prevent passage of the bullet and then repairs seals back to its original form. This means that in the unfortunate case a bullet strikes in the same spot twice, it would not be any different than hitting it where it was undamaged.

The Undercarriage and wheels of the helicopter fold up into internal bays to reduce drag and RCS however automated computer control systems drop the undercarriage if the body is damaged beyond 60%. In the Event of a worst case Scenario: - the Rotor blades are blown off using micro explosive packets followed by the cockpit canopy and the Pilot and Gunner are ejected from the helicopter

Armour and Defence Systems
The armour of the Ravager is the most advanced Animarnia armour system to date; strengthened to be heat resistant and durable; it is also protected against all small arms and can take up to 30mm rounds without puncturing. The Animarnia Defence Department has classified the actual materials and weight of the armour.

The First Layer is a Duel layer of thin silk steel with a sandwich layer of sealing form much like self sealing fuel tanks; the foam ejects from the puncture and oozes over the hole until its sealed. This works on small holes in the armour from dedicated AA guns; Missile damage is impossible to heal due to the sheer amount of damage. The Second layer is a Composite of Tungsten, Titanium and Aluminium to provide protection against heat and bullets. The third layer is Carbon 60, Reinforced with diamond Helix's as the last layer of defence against incoming fire and protect the internal equipment. The armour is surprisingly light for its effectiveness weighing in at just over 6kgs per square meter.

Electromagnetic Projectile Shield
The EM Projectile Shield codename "Project Guardian" helps deflect any incoming projectiles by using a shield of electromagnetic waves that surrounds the craft. Project Cerberus has engineered a new form of advanced shields against incoming missiles, Bullets, asteroids and comets.

The electromagnetic sheath is created with the application of very high intensity electromagnetic flux or change of intensity with respect to that of the earth. The amount of energy used can produced amplified effects creating an invisible but very effective barrier to incoming projectiles that in most cases deflect there course away from the target or detonate before impact with the target for less damage.

The technology that makes it possible to deflect the incoming projectile is fascinating. The pulsating beamed energy creates an envelope of dynamic energy levels that creates an environment similar to a cushion. When a ball or object hits the cushion, it is deflected away. Similarly the incoming projectiles are deflected away.

Aerial Defence Counter Measure (ADCM)
Fires off a small cylinder projectile that operates in three parts; the first part generates a large amount of heat equivalent to single fighter engines; giving it a large Infrared profile on enemy radar. The second layer uses advanced sounding technology to create an exceptional amount of sound and emit a large Radar Cross section. The third stage is a Flasher; a very, very bright 2 second light bust to blind anything behind the deploying aircraft. As a secondary layer; the ADCM emits a very powerful Radar pulse; and enough fractal mini lasers to create thousands of targets for laser guided munitions. ADCMS are most commonly used on Aircraft; but can be fitted on ships and land vehicles.

Electronic Countermeasures (ECM)
The ECM Suite is composed of two parts; first is a Radar Jamming system; to jam enemy guidance systems and stop them getting an active lock on the craft. The second part is a high frequency pulse sent out in all directions that fools guidance systems into thinking they've hit there target when they haven't making them explode prematurely

Laser Point Defence
World-class laser diode performance is achieved with high-efficiency semiconductor diode lasers - 1-Watt 808nm laser diodes utilising leading edge technology is featured in every Point Defence Laser system operated in the Cerberus suite. An 808-nm diode laser has an MTTF in excess of 80,000 hours at room temperature with a range of 15 miles.

People say the main drawback with equipping a laser to an aircraft is size; an often-quoted example is the Laser Missile Defence Shield that uses an Electro chemical laser to shoot down ICBMs. However let us remember that an ICBM is a much bigger target than say a surface to air missile or air to air missile. A Point defence laser on an aircraft or navel ship only needs to be powerful enough to melt the casing of an incoming threat and destroy its electronic guidance system or detonate the payload before impact. The effectiveness of a point defence laser decreases dramatically per the number of projectiles to a single laser; for example a single missile against a single laser will score 98% of success. Against 2 threats only a 68% chance of success and so on until 0% aircraft can only currently support 1 laser usually rear facing. Navel vessels however can sport more point defence lasers.

Stealth
The Ravager isn't primarily designed to be stealthy; with Stealth being a secondary priority simply to add to the combat survivability of the craft however several stealth systems are included.

Infrared and heat ablation technology
An exhaust plume contributes a significant infrared (IR) signature. In all Cerberus equipped systems, cool air is deliberately injected into the exhaust flow to cool the exhaust pume via this process. To achieve infrared stealth, the exhaust gas is cooled to the temperatures where the brightest wavelengths it radiates on are absorbed by atmospheric carbon dioxide and water vapour, dramatically reducing the infrared visibility of the exhaust plume. In addition to this to reduce the exhaust temperature coolant fluids are circulated such as fuel inside the exhaust pipe, where the fuel tanks serve as heat sinks cooled by the flow of air along the body as it moves

Advanced Sound Suppression
Using state of the art sound suppression technology to greatly reduce aircraft sound; a number of different silencing technologies are used. Firstly a geometric array of sound suppression elements attached to the engines; each of said elements comprises an inner sound absorptive pad around which is wrapped a sound transmissible cloth. Said elements being spaced a minimum of 3 inches and a maximum of 6 inches apart from each other to allow the greatest amount of noise from the engines to be transmitted through the sound transmissible cloth and be reduced in the sound absorptive pads of the array.

The elements of which are covered by a perforated metal covering to allow transmissions of noise into the elements while protecting the elements from high velocity jet engine exhaust. The sound absorptive pad is fibreglass, and the sound transmissible cloth is comprised of felted thermoplastic fibre's of 85% solution dyed polypropylene fibre's mixed and felted with 15% of polyethylene fibre's.

In addition to this the system incorporates a sound deadening system that sends out sound waves that are in anti-phase to the sound created by the vehicle from micro speakers. This is difficult to do and has to be tailored and calibrated for each engine though reduces overall sound by up to 85%

Weapons
No Doubt what you've been waiting for; Ravager was designed as a quick strike chopper with a mighty punch and combat survivability. The weapons of the Ravager are controlled by the AICFCS to seek and destroy the enemy. With stealth being a secondary objective as this is a quick strike helicopter rather than a deep intruder; All weapons are on external pylons. Capable of loading holding eight short, medium, and long-range air-to-surface munitions, four Air-to-Air Missiles, two rails each side on the pylon tips and two 70mm SNEB or Hydra pods; that can each carry 19 unguided rockets.

The under nose of the helicopter boasts an impressive 30mm Recoilless Auto cannon firing 30 mm diameter x 180mm long shells. When moving at low speeds or Hovering the Cannon can be programmed to lock onto targets moving at set speed. This can be very effective; the gun is also linked directly to the gunners HUD via the "Gun cam" on an Co-axial mount meaning the gunner can aim the gun by moving his head in a direction.

The Ravager is capable of Engaging Ground units (Armour, infantry and vehicles) Naval ships, Submarines, Enemy aircraft (fighters and helicopters) and Fortifications (structures; gun emplacements)
