((OOC: This thread will serve as a general information sheet for Kionash Ra-Ithen. As plenty of information regarding the Eldar is out on the interweb and the Codexs, I'll try and keep the info in this thread as related to Ra-Ithen in particular as possible.))

=Craftworld Ra-Ithen: A Mini-Factbook=

=History=

Ra-Ithen began it's existence as a relatively minor colony near the edge of the Eldar Empire at the height of it's power. Despite it's initial mediocre beginnings, Ra-Ithen began to blossom with economic prosperity and a high population within a few hundred years of it's founding.

Ra-Ithen, aside from these aspects was notable for it's diverse array of flora and fauna. For these reasons, Ra-Ithen was considered a particularly important asset in the outlying worlds, and perhaps the empire it self.

How ever, this peaceful existence was not last. As the Eldar Empire approached it's last days, the venerable Farseer Erdeir, the wisest Seer ever to hail from Ra-Ithen at that time predicted the fall of his kinds vast Empire and the holocaust of it's citizens. And so, spurred by his vision, undertook the Titanic effort of the construction of the Craftworld that would carry them to safety, just as other worlds across the vast empire were doing.

How ever, Ra-Ithen procrastinated more than most. Eager to preserve the beautiful plant and animal life of their world, they insisted on collecting hundreds of samples of each and every life form, down to the planets native bacteria. Mere days before the birth cries of Slaanesh, the people of Ra-Ithen completed this work.

With everything complete, the Craftworld prepared to flee the known Galaxy. How ever, just as they prepared to enter the webway, the birth cries of Slaanesh echoed through the galaxy. As billions perished in the blink of an eye, Erdeir is said to have driven back the hunger of Slaanesh with his own powers just long enough for Craftworld to escape.

What ever the truth is, the end result was the death of Farseer Erdeir and millions of other Eldar aboard Craftworld Ra-Ithen. And though they had not escaped untouched, Ra-Ithen's losses paled in comparison to the complete destruction of those Craftworlds that had been completely drained of life.

The escape was bittersweet, how ever. Despite the losses, they maintained the most important thing they had in their possession: The Webway maps to the Andromeda Galaxy, which would be their new home and refuge for the years to come. And so, leaving the other surviving Craftworld's to fight, Ra-Ithen entered a life of peace.

As the Milena passed by, and the Craftworld regained it's strength, rumors began to circulate of a possible return to the Milky Way. Many opposed this, despite the fact the survivors of the Fall were now few as the younger generations replaced them, the tale was equally a good of a deterrent to any such move. That, along with the fact the Webway maps had been lost to the passage of time.

The Seer Council, how ever was quite interested in this idea. They were strong enough now, or so they believed, to begin the reforging of their once-great Empire. Within a few years, the Council managed to recover the Webway paths to the Milky Way. After a small debate, it was decided. Ra-Ithen, rather alone or with the aid of what ever other Craftworld's may still exist, would return to the Milky Way, destroy their foes and restore the glory of years past.

They returned to find something they did not expect. Instead of being dominated by the forces of Chaos, they found the Milky Way to be a fractured, war-torn place, divided between dozens if not hundreds of factions. This did not discourage them, rather it had the opposite effect. Subscribing to the domino theory, Ra-Ithen's Aspect Warriors, lead by Farseer Tereah quickly conquered a system of small planets on the Eastern fringe of the Galaxy.

Now that Ra-Ithen has also turned to it's kinds sneaky, manipulative ways, their future will undoubtedly be an interesting one..

Writing the history monologue has worn me out for tonight, but rest assured I'll continue when ever I get the chance. I plan on posting sections for the military, characters I use and political stuff such as alliances. :p
