Blackhelm Confederacy

The war to expel the GASN forces had taken its toll on the Confederate and Griffincrest forces, taking the lives of thousands of sailors. Griffincrest demanded increased business priveleges due to the amount of men it lost to save the nation, and Claudius Griffincrest reminded the aging Chancellor of just how many GSF men were in every major city. Redemption had been smashed by a biological weapon assault which could have been avoided, bringing the city-state to the brink of seccession. The CWP still ran rampant throughout the rural and jungle infested areas of the country, and in places like Angel Bay had near complete control. The Divinity Semi-Autonomous Military, seeing the opportunitym threatened succesion from the Confederacy as well, unless a list of military and economic reforms for the city-state were made, and provided by the Confederate government. Paradise City itself was still aflame, mobs roaming throughout the vast expanse of slums with virtually free reign. The Senate was a mad house, at times men coming to blows over policy.
To Chancellor Lucius Blackhelm, the Confederacy was ending. That was, of course, until the Senate finally found a group to use as a scapegoat for all of the problems of the Confederacy.

SCENE: Imperial Palace, Shaz City, Shazbotdom
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Williams, just entered the room and walked up to the Supreme Emperor.

"Sir. The turmoil in Blackhelm Confederacy is escalating. What should we do?"

"Nothing at this time Larry. We do not want to take sides in a Civil War within a nation that has ties to an evil corporation. For one the Dark Empire of Shazbotdom will not step in to clean up someone elses mess."

"Yes, Sir."

Soon after the pull out of the last New Aushan ships, the Sacrament Law was passed in the Confederate Senate. Under the Sacrament Law, Muslims were banned from owning property or running a business. The Confederate government hired out the Griffincrest Corporation to use as its arm in the civilian population, and they were ruthlessly efficient. The grey clad GISF (Griffincrest Internal Security Force) men led crowds to the homes and shops of Muslims, grafittiing the crescent moon on walls, smashing windows and burning buildings. All throughout the country, widespread looting of Muslim run shops and homes were reported to the police, who sat idly by watching. The only time a police officer would intervene was if a non-Muslim was harmed in the looting.

All Muslims within the Confederacy were now ordered to wear the crescent moon sewed into their clothing. Mosque records were seized, and the names of most of the Muslims in the nation were on these records. Any Muslim found not wearing their moon was immediatly arrested.

Several truckloads of Muslims were driven out to work camps outside of each major city. This was all done to increase the amount of cella victus, or living room in English, for the pure blooded Latin descendants of Rome.

And so the Nox di Vas Infractus began...

The people of the Confederacy finally had something to unite behind, the hatred of Muslims. This was the same thing that brought the nation together nearly a thousand years ago, during the Exponential Crusades. The Chancellor was beginning to be seen as a national hero once more.

Throngs of people lined the streets to see him as he drove down the main street of Paradise City in an open top touring car. He waved and smiled as people along the road did the same. A number of them stood at salute. He continued to drive along, crossing the bridge to the Imperial Park, finally onto the Imperial Island, and than he walked into the Chancellery, the old Imperial Palace.

At his desk, old Lucius did not feel right. These Muslims were people, just like any other "pure blood". They did not deserve to be herded up and shipped away like animals, but it was the only way to save the Confederacy. Besides, he couldn't change the law anyway, the Senate voted overwhelmingly to pass it. He couldn't even use his own camps to hold the prisoners, so at least he could have the peace of mind knowing that they were being kept safe. Instead, the Muslims were being brought to Griffincrest camps, which again the Senate voted for overwhelmingly. He had to agree, it did save his military resources which could be spent on finding the insurgents and rebuilding the damage taken from the latest wave of assaults.

Urkdak, Southwest States, The Peoples Freedom-

Riots erupted in the streets today after rumors spread over the internet of a Blackhelm led genocide against Muslims.

The Southwest States split from The Peoples Freedom and caused the death of nearly 100,000 troops. International peacekeeping forces had to be called in to quell the violence.

Now, the Muslims are angry yet again, and consequences are being payed. The local Clerics have called for the Government to withdraw from the CA. Some Clerics are going so far as to say that Muslim's should go and fight against the enemy.

The Muslims have even go as far as to completly stop their investments in The Peoples Freedom Stock Exchange, and are boycotting thousands of goods. The Riots themselves are not yet violent, but they could easily become so.

There have been reports that they already have become violent, with car burnings and looting occurring.

Even inside The Peoples Freedom itself, liberals and Tolerance Party officials are also bringing up the debate in the Senate. There are very few pro-CA senators and it is looking by the day that a withdrawal from the alliance may occur.

A Press statement by Emperor Braddock is expected in the next few days.

It seems that unless reinsurances by the Black helm Confederacy is received, a pullout is likely.

Though we are still humiliated at our naval defeat (though this bears a striking resemblance too the Blackhelm and RFF fleets being decimated outside of New Ausha) we are glad too see a shift in government, though it remains torn. We find it hysterical that this government has gone so far as too publicly label scapegoats based on ethnicity. This is clearly a last ditch effort by the national leadership, too salvage a shattered and divided nation. We condemn these acts of reckless hate.

As for the humanitarian aspect, if the Blackhelm government posts any needs in the manner of providing for the general welfare of the civilians, we would be glad too apply.

On another note, we wish too sign a treaty with the new Blackhelm leadership, prohibiting armed conflict, for a certain amount of time, as their has been far too much lose of life and limb between our sovereign nations.

The flaws of this post are remarkable. For one, RFF and myself were never defeated as a battle never took place. I never even sent my ships into Aushan waters, and you are still ignoring the special forces attack on your supply depot, which would have lead to my fleets crossing into your waters.

Also, you would not know that it was an effort to keep the country together, as that would have taken place in secret meetings in the Senate.

The tiny nation of Ravetta lay just west of the Confederacy. Large parts of the Revettan population were able to trace back their heritage to the ancient Roman Empire, thus giving them a cultural bond with the Confederacy. Claudius Griffincrest was sent to meet with Ravettan heads of state on behalf of the Chancellor, and after only a few hours behind closed doors, the President of Ravetta opted to allow elections to see the Ravettan people would vote to have their nation annexed into the Blackhelm Confedracy.

The votes came back within the week. The Ravettan peoples had voted overwhelmingly to be annexed into the Confederacy. On December 20, 2017, at 12:05AM, Ravetta officially became a province of the Blackhelm Confederacy. Confederate forces drove down the streets of the Ravettan capital of Capula to cheers and throngs of supporters raining down ticker tape on the proud Confederate forces. They seemed to be welcomed into Ravetta with open arms.

Chancellor Lucius Blackhelm gave a radio address several hours after the annexation was made. In it, he stated that "A new Imperium of Exponent was born. This new, Third Imperium shall reign for a thousand years. It will be the greatest time in the history of Exponent, or of the Blackhelm Confederacy." Millions huddled around radioes to hear the Chancellors nearly hour long speech. The people now had renewed hope in their nation. Things were finally starting to cool down between the various city states.

The Senate was now feeling confident that they had the support of the people. They decided it was now time to expand the rule of the Third Imperium.

A nation to the south of the Blachelm Confederacy known as Charovia had many Latin blooded people living in its northern most region, known as Sudanette. The Confederate forces employed a new military doctrine in their invasion of Sudanette, called Bellum Levitas, or Lightining War in Latin. Using the bellum levitas strategy, most of the Charovian defenders in Sudanete were crushed within hours, either dead or captured. Very few small pockets had managed to survive, and those were now out spread across the countryside. In just days, all of Sudanette was wrested away from Charovia, and was firmly under Confederate control. Of course, some resistance movements sprang up, but today, the Blackhelm Confederacy was victorious.

Bellum Levitas was a fairly simple doctrine. The first phase of attack was to pummel the enemy into submission with huge concentrations of Cyanogen Chloride gas, usually fired from the Mongoose 165mm artillery piece, or else a BM-21 MLRS. After the enemy was devastated by the gas attacks, AV-18's on loan from the Griffincrest Corporation would swoop in and mop up what was left. Any remaining positions were than dealt with by the Confederate XM-1 tanks, which were then followed up by infantry, who would proceed to secure the area.

Chancellor Blackhelm ascended to the platform in the middle of Redemption. Around him, thousands of cheering Confederate citziens, men and women, young and old, all now finally proud to call themselves Confederate. He had not seen such national pride since the collapse of Exponent. He cleared his throat, looked down at his papers, then began.

"The proof of the endowment of a true artist is always to be found in the fact that his work of art expresses the general will of a period. Perhaps that is most clearly shown in architecture.... The religious mystical world of the Christian Middle Ages, turning inwards upon itself, found forms of expression which were possible only for that world - for that world alone could they be of service. A Gothic stadium is as unthinkable as a Romanesque railway station or a Byzantine market hall. The way in which the artist of the Middle Ages, of the beginnings of the modern world, found the artistic solution for the buildings which he was commissioned to create is in the highest degree striking and admirable. That way, however, is no evidence that the conception of the content of life held by the folk of his day was in itself either absolutely right or absolutely wrong; it is evidence only that works of art have rightly mirrored the inner mind of a past age. It is therefore quite comprehensible that insofar as the attempt is made to carry on the life of that past age, those who search for solutions of artistic problems can still seek and find there fruitful suggestions. Thus one can easily imagine that, for instance, in the sphere of religion men will always work backwards to the form-language of a period in which Christianity in its view of the world appeared to meet every need. On the other hand, at the present moment the expression of a new view of the world which is determined by the conception of race will return to those ages which in the past have already possessed a similar freedom of the spirit, of the will, and of the mind. Thus, naturally, the manifestation in art of a European conception of the State will not be possible through civilizations, as, for example, the civilization of the Far East, which - because foreign to us - have no message for our day, but will rather be influenced in a thousand ways through the evidences and memories of that mighty imperial Power of antiquity which, although in fact destroyed fifteen hundred years ago, still as an ideal force lives on and works on in the imaginations of men. The more nearly the modern State approaches to the imperial idea of the ancient World-Power, so more and more will the general character of that civilization be manifested in its influence upon the formation of the style of our own day.

And so art today will in the same way announce and herald that common mental attitude, that common view of life, which governs the present age. It will do this not because this age entrusts commissions to artists, but because the execution of these commissions can meet with understanding only if it reveals in itself the true essence of the spirit of this age. The mysticism of Christianity, at the period of its greatest intensity, demanded for the buildings which it ordered an architectonic form which not only did not contradict the spirit of the age, but rather helped it to attain that mysterious gloom which made men the more ready to submit to renunciation of self. The growing protest against this crushing of the freedom of the soul and of the will, which had lasted for centuries, immediately opened the way to new forms of expression in artistic creation. The mystic narrowness and gloom of the cathedrals began to recede and, to match the free life of the spirit, buildings became spacious and flooded with light. Mystical twilight gave way before increasing brightness. The unsteady, groping transition of the nineteenth century led finally in our days to that crisis which in one way or another had to find its solution. Islam, with its bolshevist onslaught, might smash the Imperial States and destroy those native strata of the people whose blood destined them for leadership, and in that case the culture which had hitherto sprung from these roots would be brought to the same destruction."

With the region of Sudanette conquered by the Confederacy, the Senate convinced the Chancellor to conquer the rest of Charvonia. The Bellum Levitas military doctrine was once again imposed and Confederate forces once again poured into the nation.

Charvonian forces were still in dissarray from the last attack upon Sudanette, and were completely unprepared to to hold off another invasion. Mass hysteria swept through Charvonian ranks, and men began to surrender by the thousands. Within days the whole country was firmly under Confederate control.

Charvonian government officials desperatly begged the International community to allow them to seek refuge in their nation.

Next, my labor camps are either in the heart of the Confederate jungles, or off in far flung Griffincrest captured territories. It is going to be very hard to escape and then get back to your families alive. Also, if you look at the map of Terra Exitum, I am on a small island continent. People will not be escaping to the rest of the world from there without my approval.

About the body furnaces, old Griffincrest factories have been converted to labor camps, so from the satelites perspective it would just look like ordinary factories.
