The Launch of Safe Net
Today after a meeting with his security council, Emperor Alejandro Vemirez has announced his long-time progect in the skies. The progect, SafeNet, will provide Laquasa with a powerful "shield in the sky" against many form of missiles, as General Buzz Senca puts it. Though the progect will cost billions, many believe it to be worthwhile. An expected 99% deflection rate is what various designers are telling civillians to look forward to, now that they are permitted to give away bits of information on the classified topic. Better yet, as time goes on, this high percentage shall rise. "Its quite good to know that it's up there, protecting us, especially now that every crackpot nation and their brother has a nuclear arsenal nowadays'," says stay-at-home mom Jennifer Bolita. It has been under secret construction for several years now. It will come fully online in an estimated 3 weeks.

Secret IC:
"And when?"
"Three months, ma'am. Looks to be missile-based; not sure how accurate it is. We should try some sort of fly-by, and check for radar reflection. If you want to, that is."
"They're in the EVIL alliance; I'm looking at their ambassador right now. Don't worry about it, just file it."
"Very well, ma'am."

We congratulate our ally Laquasa Isle on this most recent development. A missile defense shield is an important step towards national security. A fruit basket has been sent to the appropriate government administration in your country.

"Sir, some sort of defence grid network over Laquasa."
"Fuck! I don't care if they're in EVIL, I want a way around it. Begin production of EMP bombs and EMP missiles, stat!"
"Sir, yes, sir!"

OOC: No, I'm not. I was acknowledging that you built one, and stating that my military is trying to find a way to counter it. We aren't doing this maliciously; the United States has invasion plans for every country in the world, including Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain. That doesn't mean that the United States is going to invade them. And yes, I have RPed getting one of these babies, almost... a year and a half ago now. If you like, I can supply you with the post of my missile defense system, and my NBC research.
EDIT: Provided it isn't from the old phBB boards... oh, God. Those were terrible...

Hey, ICly we hate each other. How did you get your hands on my newspaper?
OOC: Oh come on, like the only source that the information is coming out on is the newspaper. And even if it was, there are ways to get the newspaper. Spies, bribes, buying copies from other nations, etc.
The Constitutional Monarchy congratulates you and wishes you the best in future endeavors.

The Executive Government of the Motherland of Anagonia congradulates the successful launch of SafeNet. We will be keeping a close eye on its progress, and we will be monitering the activity therein. If there is any way our own space program could help, do not hesitate to ask.

SIC:
"Sir, good news."
"Out with it."
"Tests show that EMP charges dropped on hubs of the defence network will incapacitate it."
"Excellent. I want mass production, now. And some hypersonic craft to deliver the charges. Oh, and make sure our defence networks are up to par."
"Aye, aye."

What is it with you and RPing for other people? You don't even know how it works!!! I think that my multi-billion dollar shield would be well protected, wouldn't you?

OOC: Computer tests based on what we believe it is, not actual efficiency! Besides, EMP does sort of take out everything electronic.

Quite large fleets surround these missiles. Not to mention that these can be launched by submarine.

Notice that these articles are labeled as "experimental". I suppose you would start up a nuclear war, eh? Not to mention that I spend more than you on defense, though you fail to see logic.
