IC:

"Your insolence continues to disgust me...I've had my final act with you."

Itula Vasqi slowly closed his claw-studded grip around his spacial commander, Underlord Tuya'as Val, his six muscular, navy blue-almost black-fingers squeezing tighter around the Overmind's thick, scaled neck.

"It is time for you to pass to your ancestors."

Vasqi clenched quickly, the neck vertebrae in the reptile audibly crushing as life exited Val in a brief, violent shudder. The spacial commander had been slow one too many times in organizing reinforcements for the ground troops, whose commanders were impressing Vasqi with their skill in such a situation. Because of this, the third-largest continent would now be a long, drawn-out siege instead of a quick, decisive take-over, as it should have been. A pity...as the numbers of the humans continued to drop and drop. Many had been quickly killed in the blitzkreiging runs of the Torrent ground forces and aerial sieges, just as the Red Planet had fallen (now the major preemptive strike base and resupply field for Torrent forces). Those who hadn't been killed were quickly rounded up-internment camps, blasted into the ground by heavy artillery, ensured that the interned prisoners would likely die-or wish they did-in short time.
Simply put, Overlord Vasqi didn't care for the primate humans. They were weak, and they were even less efficient then his grunt forces at times, it seemed. They had the numbers advantage, only slightly, and couldn't even take any advantage presented with. Their cities lie in ruins, and Vasqi loved every minute. Of course, a select batch of humans had proved valuable-the traitors to the race. They had provided, in return for the right price, given out the weak points in cities, regions, and military locales. One traitor had indeed done a very good job on the human city of Moscow-opening a weak point, he had allowed a massive, quick strike that knocked out the military foundation of the city, and had allowed for the urban center to be nearly level. Moscow was now merely a stinking, freezing plain as December wore on, snow covering the ruins of the city.
The final campaign would be a slugfest, and Vasqi was prepared to engage in long warfare with the humans. Superior technology and experience were both on the side of the Torrent, after having eliminated significantly tougher enemies than the humans before. The Torrent were predatory, savage...and they left no area untouched in the consumption of resources and lives that expanded the empire. The human technology was developing, and nonetheless a danger to the Torrent forces, yet still behind the advancement of the stellar alien forces-a mismatch that Vasqi had already employed in several critical battles, particularly the space fight near the surface of the Martian moon, Phobos, where the last of the human space fleet had been annihilated by superior fire. Now the Earth ground was their last refuge, and the third continent was their last sanctuary-soon that would be gone, the humans likely exported to the Il'tani-the neighboring race to the Torrent-for slave labor-or food.
Vasqi settled on his 'throne' on the massive, 30km-long command ship that orbited Mars, quickly patching a connection to his ground commander in former Madrid, Spain. The Spanish city, once a gleaming symbol of Moorish and European blend, stood behind the reptilian Overmind-a ruin. Towers were half-destroyed, buildings burned out, dust and dirt now settling over the shells of life. Several other Overminds passed behind.

"Overlord," his commander, Underlord Erilp Kaitae, began, "we have finished final conquest of the fifth continent [Europe], and now are beginning our final strategy to take the third continent [North America]. we have made preliminary pushes into the second continent and now are relegated to the Southern side of the continental river [Rio Grande] that bisects the third continent. The continent shall not last too much longer, once we can make enough progress into it, the cities shall fall, and the human scourge destroyed."
"Exxxcellent," Vasqi replied, fairly pleased, "begin the final push. Resupply to the Fifth continent and Fourth Continent [South/Central America] shall be short in coming."

Major Xavier had fought years against the Torrent. His face changed, the nose scratched, but un-moved. The chin also stratched, his cheecks indented and blooded, of his left eye he only had forty-two percent use of, although surgery could fix this, there were far more patience and his surgery was really.... unneccasary, as Xavier himself put it. He shot with his left eye closed so their was no problem their. "One hundred, eighteen." Xavier whispered under his breath. The number that had fallen under his command. Their lives actually meant nothing to him, it was the number. "Six hundred, fourty-three" Xavier said louder, with a more confident look, a smile actually. That was the number of Torrent that died because of his tact.

Now, with a cigar in mouth, he laughed at the rest of the world. He had survived by mere chance, and now they came here. They came.... to him what had he done? He just fought for his empire, his race. Nothing more, nothing less. It didn't matter, they would still hunt him down, and kill him. With engagements all around the world, it would only be a matter of time before they would get to him... only a matter of time.

His battalion was seven hundred in number. Seven hundred Marines with battle rifles, machine guns, and sniper rifles. That's all they had, even though they were suppose to be a mobile assualt force, all the armour in Quebec had been stripped and moved to the border in Texas. Most of his men were trained before the war, which ment that they were expierenced and had the best training. The conscripts were trained during the war, which ment that they had some bad training and little or no expierence. But this would have to do, if they were to survive.

Xavier heard the pitter patter of feet just left of him, "Sir! We have word that we may be pushed to the defence of the border!" the man had obvoiusly run for a number of minutes and was clearly tired.

Xavier cursed, "Shit!" then gave his reply. "Why are you so damn happy? If they move us up there we're going to die!"

"But, sir. You're our leader we can't be defeated!"

"You're right, how could I forget? Now go back to HQ." Xavier sighed heavily, well, we all have to die sometime, he thought.

Feris Abd-Al-Qadir peered through the scope of his massive rifle as he examined the dreary landscape in front of him. He was deep in the Sonora, on the boarder of Arizona and Mexico, well behind the Global Foundation troops based on the boarder, safe from both the Earth forces-whose defences Feris easily slipped through, being quite a stealthy individual, despite the large girth of his weapons-and the Torrent, who could not yet reach him behind the remaining GF army.

The Sonoran desert was the only place in North America that really suited Feris. He had lived all his life in the Sahara until the Torrent had arrived; it made no sense to go anywhere else after most of Earth had fallen. It was far different, this American desert, than the sea of fire and sand in Morocco, but it presented the same advantages; low, rocky alcoves and random sandstone formations gave ample protection from both enemy soldiers and the elements while small caves acted as perfect sniping outposts.

Feris-who was heavily camouflaged-grimiced as he watched a platoon of Global Foundation infintrymen make their way along the road he overlooked from his small cave; he barely restrained his trigger finger from unleashing fiery death upon the troops. Feris absolutely despised the GF with every nerve in his body; the Earth forces had made it a habit to effectively hunt down and stamp out most of the nomadic raiders and traders in the Sahara. He had almost been tempted to join and aid the Torrent before realizing that the Aliens were even worse; all of Feris's friends, associates, and relatives had been brutally slain by the Torrent space forces, the large spider-like soldiers, or the bombs of the alien invaders.

Feris knew the Torrent would come and push the GF back...it was just a matter of time.

OOC: Can do, though Let's try to keep OOC info to the OOC thread

IC:

"Get in there, oaf!"

The general chatter of the Spreaders was nothing good to the ears of an Overmind-especially one such as Vasqi, as the leader of the entire operation, maybe the fifth-highest important Overmind in the Torrent military altogether. It was pointless bickering followed by slaps and occassional bloodshed-but they were the grunt race. They were designed to attack en masse and die ungloriously-and they served that purpose quite well. The Overminds, cunning, cruel, intelligent, savvy-were the true leaders of the military.
Which is why Vasqi turned his attention from the Spreaders fueling up a transport dropship headed for Madrid to a better look-an Overmind dropship, nimble, speedy transports capable of housing two hundred Overmind Ve'ernt-the equivalent to the Torrent's Marines. Elite troops capable of devestating power and spread, the Ve'ernt were a force to be reckoned with-and they would bring dead reckoning today to some unnoticing apes. The humans were so damn blissfully unaware it was nearly funny, but Overminds had little in the sense of humor, Vasqi no exception.
The dropship powered up its main booster engines, the green thrusters reflecting off the black hull of the sleek, well-armored vehicles. Two light fighters, their engines screaming against the hanger bay of the massive invasion command craft, boosted away after the dropship, their two plasma cannons hanging menacingly underneath the vehicles.
Vasqi turned from the viewer, turning to the project that was underway in the biolabs...one of significantly more importance.

Earth
The three craft finished the short transspacial jump to Earth, linking up to four more of the light fighters. The entire formation now angled down past two Torrent cruisers, blazing down hot into the atmosphere.

"ETA 20 seconds," the Overmind pilot of the dropship quickly reported back to the Ve'ernt, returning to his duties.

The reptiles stood quietly, solemn as usual, at their jump seats, waiting for the hit.
The fighters blasted through first, down into the former Canadian city of Quebec. Entering cannon range, blue plasma shots erupted like machine gun fire from the fighters as they shot through the city, nimbly skirting buildings and blowing into the air, turning around for another pass.
The dropship, meanwhile, with turrets throwing hot plasma into the streets, came to within a meter off the ground and lowered a drop gate. The Ve'ernt were off the dropship quickly, raising plasma rifles and letting out repeated shots before assuming better positions.

"Get cover," calmly ordered the silver-armored captain of the company as the dropship, taking off, continued to shower fire, the fighters making a final pass with their plasma cannons before shooting back into the sky. Quebec seemed to have been covered without any prior notice, the major GF remainder city now caught off guard.

Absolution Plaza, Mars

Absolution 'Plaza' was misnamed, to say the least. The fortress-city that had been terraformed from the remnants of the GF's city, New Tahiti, was not at all reminiscent of a 'plaza'. Moreof, it was a giant complex, towers and technology spreading like leeching tendrils, overwhelming the red, iron soil. The tendrils that branched out, like a massive urban center, all spun inwards to a central towering citadel-the Uhuri Oracle, the massive central authority of what would be the "prize" system of conquest. By no means did Oracle refer to anything religious-the Torrent were certainly not-but it was a title deemed to correspond to the purpose of the Torrent in the Earth system to begin.
The Torrent were, obviously, an advanced, starfaring race. For centuries, they had done much as humans have done for millenia: ponder their own origins and existence. However, the Torrent believed they had found the answer upon discovering an ancient, formerly colonized asteroid, and their quest led on to the Earth System. Mars provided more clues to the Torrent's quest, and Earth, it was believed, would be the final piece to theh rapidly assembling puzzle. Taking the System, and eradicating the upstart humans, therefore would be the last step to making the Earth system into a second Torrent Capital system. Additionally, Earth held another secret-something that would help the Torrent against their longtime enemy.
Mars had not been at all hard to transform into a Torrent stronghold. The humans already had a good deal of urban societies and centers on the planet, and it had been easy for the Torrent to simply wipe out the inhabitants, land repair and construction drones, and quickly build up the new city-mostly done with the labor of captured humans who had been unfortunate enough not to get off Mars. They were mass-killed later, but served enough purpose-Mars would be difficult for the humans to retake, even if Earth became a long, drawn-out slugfest. Titan, Europa, Io, and Triton had been slightly used, but barely-Mars held many keys that could unlock Earth's clues.
The Citadel was the unscrambler of all the clues. It would be too time-consuming to transfer all the data back to the home systems of the Torrent for evaluation-having a prefabricated massive tower complex in-system was a complete ease on the backs of Torrent researchers. The massive war that raged on Earth produced resources and land, certainly, but it also produced artifacts, things that the humans had never even known lay beneath their feet in Earth's deep crust. These artifacts were laid down under the tests of countless Torrent researchers and scientists to probe, unlock, and uncover the secrets they looked for.
And only the human presence on Earth stood in the way...

The sound of super-heated plasma hitting the wall seemed to drown out everything else, everything until the artillery began to beat the human position. It was chaos, pandamonium, hell. The once great city of London was in ruins, and the last outpost was barely holding while the final evacuations were taking place. Another blast of plasma hit.

"Pass the beans."

Julian looked up from the small fire, seeing two of his mates eating their rations. How long had it been? Two? Three weeks since they had arrived in North America? A day of relaxation, then it was back to battle. Most of his platoon had been killed or was missing, and now they had about fifty refugees from the devastation of Manhatton to deal with.

"Colonels daydreaming again," spoke one of the soldiers as he shoveled some food into his mouth, "London again, Julian? Or was it about Paris this time?" The man was silenced briefly as Julian's bread flew across the fire and hit him in the nose, causing him to break out laughing.

"What time is it," Julian muttered, looking at his watch, "Oh God. Hurry up and finish your beans, Gents, we've gotta get these people moving. We don't want the Torrent to catch up with us again do we?"

Vasqi wasn't happy when he recieved official briefs from the government back at the Capital System-it usually meant that they were sending an observer, or one of his underlings had messed up somewhere. Not particularly the best proposition for an Overmind in his position, tasked with finding the secret key to put the Torrent in the Top 2 of local space-faring races-over the hated enemy that moved around under the radar and struck when it was worst. The humans were a nuisance, for sure, and they would be eradicated-Vasqi would make sure of that-but the government already considered that a definite. They had bigger plans for the Overmind commander.
Which is why Vasqi wasn't happy-he had enough on his plate, and the smug, russet face of a particular Torrent Regent was not exactly his favorite sight. The governor-general, to put the title in basic terms, was a haughty Overmind who seemed to enjoy causing problems for Vasqi whenever possible.

"I have a sliver of information for you," the Regent sulked, not sounding as happy as usual.
"You don't seemed as pleased as usual when you deliver information," Vasqi uttered back, his harsh natural reptilian vocal glands scratching out the words in a dark overtone.
"The Imperium itself has nothing to be happy about when something like this occurs," the Regent fired back, still sulking.
"Well get on with it, I have to make a fool out of you when I finish with the sapiens," Vasqi snorted.
"You will have more to worry about than that, I assure you," the Regent responded, "The One has been found once more, he escaped the Il'tani somehow."
Vasqi recoiled. "Amalgamation?"
"There was an Amalgamation swarm attack on Telti, the Il'tani base was overrun and converted," the Regent briefed. "It is concerning-if they can wipe out a base of our superiors, they may do worse to our own."
"They are barely our superiors, we may yet tip the tide in time," Vasqi muttered. He was disdainful of the Il'tani, the dominant local race of arboreal aliens. "Have any Infections been discovered outside of Telti?"
"None yet, but we lost contact with the Yr'optha, en route to Rks'ss five hours ago," the Regent said solemnly.
"So they've taken our own, too," Vasqi mused. "Any word of the Arbitrator?"
"None so far, they seem to be quiet now that word leaked from the Outliers about the One."
"Let's keep them that way and try to pursue Cauterization," Vasqi moved.
"A second time we can try, unlikely as it will be to succeed. The Amalgamation learn from their mistakes-if the One seriously does live, and the Il'tani aren't cooking anything, then it will surely know better than to fail once more."
"Then we shall take the initiative to strike first and make it quick. Was there anything else you needed?" Vasqi inquired, wrapping up.
"That was all. The Counsel is concerned that if the Amalgamation penetrate your system, they may convert the Sapiens...and that would make your own job significantly more difficult."
"I would worry more about tham converting us!" Vasqi exclaimed. "But that is all. Good day."

He switched off the viewer, and groaned as he sat back into his command chair.

The One

The One was not a name known to humanity-yet. However, every other local species knew well of it. It is a term of neccessity-gender of the One is unknown, age; unknown, even species; unknown. How the One came to its position is unknown, but it, and its feared brethen, the Amalgamation, were very well known, recognized, and planned against.
The One now was weakened, but not dead-never dead, never out. It sat, bloatingly, amidst several converting bodies of dead Il'tani, the arboreal creatures melting, yet still alive, as Amalgamation converters transformed the powerful creatures into Amalgamation machines of death.
The One was an odd mix of creatures from the outside, a gelatinous, blob creature with stud-like legs sticking out from the blobby mess that encompassed a 'body'. The creature didn't appear to have a mouth, or eyes, or any sensory equipment, yet still seemed intently aware. Other Amalgamation forms, some similar, some in the mutated forms of Il'tani and Torrent, others in the Floater forms-massive blobs that carried bundles of converters for Infection. Simply put, the Amalgamation were a hive race, one that threatened all races, and stopped at nothing for control. But the One still had work to do-he 'ruled' over a massive population, spread out over worlds and worlds-even a tiny contingent on Earth that neither the humans nor the Torrent were yet aware of. And when they did become aware, the One would ensure that neither race was still active as their own to tell the story.

Theron Alexi Cochran thought about the death of her/is father as s/he stood on the catwalk that circled one of the many manufacturing bays that made up just one section of the artic facility. S/he watching the feverished pitch of construction on the twelfth star ark continued below. The Torrent believed that humanity was all but beaten, but s/he had a number of surprises lined up for the hated Overlord Vasqi. He was responsible for the early death of her/is father and s/he meant to make him pay dearly for that! Here many miles beneath the surface the human race still lived and even prospered. Scientist from the four corners of the globe now busily worked to develop new bio weapons, as well as cloning new and improved variations of humanoids to fight the Torrent scourge. Beneath the sea floor of the Marianas Trench a huge shining city took in refugees from around the world daily.

The plasma fire zoomed over the great city of Quebec. His battalion being the last chance of the nations took fifty casueilties under the fire itself. Their defences were distraught and mail nurished. Most of their machinegun positions had been abonded by their crews for better cover. Thus far the Torrent attack was succeding, but Xavier didn't loose his head, and this was what he excelled at. "I want Captain Arnuldz, now!" Xavier screamed to a group of troops.

They scuttled around the city only to come back with awefull, yet relieving news. "Sir, Captain Arnuldz is dead, but he killed some fifty Torrent with Dog Company, even though they've recently pulled back to the town square." A young Prive First Class said with next to no breath. "We found First Lieutenant DawsMyer, he's forming up Dog Company's defensive perimeter."

Xavier looked at the young private with his cold brown eyes, "Soldier." He said in a thich Nicaraguan accent. "I want you to find me every available Company leader and tell them to pull back and form a damned perimeter around the city hall." All this being said threw the sound of heavy plasma shells indenting themselves on the Earth, and plasma fire battling the sound of hard, cold lead.

The private rushed off, bringing Xavier's news with him.

It had been about thirty minutes before the young private came back to Xavier, "Sir, i've got reports for you!" he then passed off an off-white envelope to Major Solis.

Xavier's brash voice turned on the young private. "Private, I want Foxtrot Company to form a lime from the Quebec South West coast to the Quebec North East Bay. Then I want Echo company to be near North East of the Northern part of the line. Charlie Company will be West of the Southern part of the line. The Torrent were fierce fighters, particularly the Ve'ernt\]-aggressive, though still cautious. The alien marines bunkered down as the human companies began to form lines of defense against the assault, a second dropship, an armor ship this time, dropping down several vehicles and extra troops and supplies. Three Ve'ernt hopped into a Spectre Heavy Tank, the mighty craft powering up, turret swiveling as it cruised down the street, several Overminds following behind as they let loose plasma bolts or energized magnetic rifle fire at the line of Foxtrot Company. The tank aimed quickly, bringing the turret to bear, and laid down a shot at Foxtrot company, the tank's primary barrel exploding in a shock of white light as a massive glob of plasma burst towards Foxtrot. The tank quickly made off, slipping behind a building as two Phoenix fighters shot overhead, laying down a plasma barrage before lifting into the sky.
The Ve'ernt continued to move up the street, taking positions behind burning civilian vehicles and piles of rubble while laying down fire, as the massive Spectre continued to shoot while smaller Sprite attack speeders popped in and out of cover, the one-man hover bikes shooting off plasma bolts. One [I]Ve'ernt, however, took the misfortune to seperate from his band-a mistake he wouldn't consciously forget. A Amalgamation Floater-it had stowed away on a transport after being carried by careless transport to one of the massive capital ships-slowly slinked its way from behind a blown-out door, the oozing blob eyeing the lone Overmind. The reptile caught the bloated blob out of his eye as well, and turned, frightened, letting out two blasts from his plasma rifle. The Amalgamation monstrosity was faster, immediately bursting its primary sack as Infector Forms flew at the Ve'ernt, burrowing into the the reptile's exposed skin. The marine screamed for one moment, but then fell silent, as the Floater-still functioning, though without its carraige anymore-dragged the unconscious-and now helpless-Overmind off into a darkened corner as Torrent troops ran past.

Xavier knew a loosing battle when he saw one, even if this had been his first. He quickly met up with Dog Company Commander, "Captain Wilf, I want you to ferry Dog Company and Bravo Company to up to the North Western most of Canada. We have nearly fourty civilian ferry boats that can hold fifty men each, but put about sixty or seventy." He then turned to the adjacent young private, "I want all our anti-armoured equipment put on Foxtrot company, but also bring all the Anti-Aircraft guns and stack them on the ferrys."

The young private's reply was hard and yet still so brittle, due to the quick temperage of seeing many a men die in this battle. "Yes, sir. Consider it done" He ran off with a youthfull like speed, something that Xavier also possed. Yet his "youthfull" part had been stripped away due to combat.
--
Thirty minutes later rather large mounted guns retreated to Battlion HeadQuarters' perimeter. They fired on the upcoming enemy fighters, having a huge battle appear. One of the fighters fired up and collided into one of the un-mannded ferries. "Fuck, thirty-nine" Xavier kept count, eight of the ferrys had already been shipped off to the North West of Canada.

The young private came up to him once again, "Sir!" he caught his breath. "Foxtrot Company CO had been killed and First Lieutenant Ahli is in command now."

"Thank you, Corporal....er what's your name?" Xavier said with a reassuring yet unknowing tone.

The young pri....err Corporal's face lit up in a smile, "Sir, it's Jonathon Xion."

"What was your prevoius Company assignment?"

"Dog Company, sir."

"You're being moved to Battalion HQ, now." Corporal Jonathon's face lit up. The battle would be a hard one, but was not actually lost, it just seemed that way.

Damien Raul Cochran stood in the middle of the city street, his eyes wide as he gazed upon the battered buildings and raging fires in the wake of the alien attack. Ahead he saw a small girl, she reminded him of Alexi when s/he was small, she was covered in soot and bruises, her eyes were gleaming, filled with determination, pride, and confidence. She held a teddy bear, its arm was torn, and its face burned, but she gripped it as if it was her last memory of her home, and her family. "I'm looking for my mommy." She whimpered. It was then that he noticed a small chain around the little girls neck , it looked like half a heart. Walking up the street he noticed a deceased woman lying on the ground, she was wearing the same necklace, but it was the other half. he was heartbroken, she was determined to find her mother, but he didn't know if she knew that her mother was gone. He wanted to smile at her and tell her everything would be alright, but at the same time, he was trying to hold back tears. The scene of Damien and the girl was picturesque-and with every passionate moment, something had to come on the scene and spoil it.
Slowly groping around the corner, the Infected Overmind-now having quickly mutated into an Amalgamation Aggressor form, stood before Damien, slightly behind the young girl. The thing was hideous-the former reptilian head was misshapen, shrunken, and deformed, the eye sockets empty and the mouth portruding bizarre tendrils. The arms had bulked, giant claws spiking out of the hands and long tentacles dangling from the wrists. The left hand still clutched an energy needler, loaded full with plasma needles, deadly explosive weapons. The body of the mutant Overmind was even worse. The stomach of the reptilian, normally muscular, was bent inward and jarred, looking malnourished. The torso and chest area bent out strangely, large oozing blisters emerged from out of it. The legs had formed similar to the arms, tentacles and claws portruding outward of intensely muscular apertures.

"Itc'choo tyaulifor," uttered the grotesque mutant, indicating both the girl and Damien with the needler violently and speaking a bizarre, unknown language, "S'puchoo farato."

The Amalgamation now made its first appearance before a human-a hostile one, at that, very fitting.

The Spectre was quick out of the line of fire, as the burning hulk of a Sprite lay burning in the middle of the street, beside two fresh Ve'ernt corpses, puncture wounds straight through their black armor. The Spectre was taking hits, however, as its two anti-personnel fore-mounted cannons were twisted at bad, unusable angles, and scorch marks from rocket fire burned the front of the wounded, but still kicking, vehicle. Another blsat came in, slamming into a patch of three Overminds and shooting them into the air, killing all three of the reptilian warriors. The marines were slowly edging forward, using their skill and experience in war to overcome the advantage of the defenders in numbers. However, the number of the elite soldiers was ticking down, and they needed to break through quickly.
The fighter cover was thinning out as the Phoenixes remaining strafed at the fighters-but only a half dozen of the originally ten fighters remained, now less of a threat, but still pounding at ground positions, trying to dodge fire and accepting the occassional blow to the shield banks of each.

"Damned, stupid bastards!" Xavier laughed to the whole of Battalion HeadQuarter's Executive Officers, even though they didn't know much of what he was talking about, "Order the Northern part of the Foxtrot Company line to bash into the Torrent's rear! Then I want Echo company to screw em in the side. Lastly, I want Charlie company to re-inforce the rear attack, but they'll take a while to get there!" The Executive Officers were stunned they didn't realize this.

The orders came quickly, as the Southern part of Foxtrot company, fifty men plus twenty anti-armoured guns, where now down to thirty-eight and eighteen armoured guns. With this news Xavier gave a new order. "Battalion HQ is now moving up to support the Southern line of Foxtrot company!" The whole of the HeadQuarters was amazed as most of them were the new men who had never seen combat. This battle would be a tough one indeed. A new battle field estimate came in, but this time it was not listed by Company due to the heavy confusion. Ninety-one men dead, one hundred sixty wounded, including the ones that had been ferried off. All-in-all Xavier still had about three hundred fighting men, and the Torrent where surrounded.

The Torrent forces were beginning to realize they were slowly getting outflanked, and began to devise a new strategy.

"Let them flank us," ordered the commanding soldier, "we will make them suffer."

The Spectre tank aimed its barrel up in sync with the remaining Sprite, and both armored vehicles fired their main cannons. The heavy plasma shot smashed into a massive tower building, the huge edifice sliced top from bottom by the penetrating blast and ensuing glowing explosion, flames shooting out. The building toppled down behind the Torrent forces, smashing down in pieces to the ground.

"Keep advancing."

One question, wouldn't that give me the advantage of just having to flank you on the North side?

OOC: Will it neccessarily be an advantage? :D
I don't intend on winning with a force of 300, but I intend to send a psychic shock with it.

OOC: The only person you'll psycologically shock is most of Battalion HQ, the rest of the Battalion has fought you before.

"The idiots!" Xavier laughed, his heart filled with joy. "Blast those mother fucker's North flank! It's raping time. I want Echo Company to support Southern line Foxtrot Company. These damned pussies at HQ are running like bitches! I think we've lost half to retreating.

A barrage of 8 massive shells harmered the on-coming Torrent. Newly made machinegun nests cut threw the Torrent also. The attackers on the North flank only had the advanage of hard cold lead and numbers. Xavier gave another order, "Move the AA up to Echo Companies position!" With that the Torrent's fate was most-likely sealed.

OOC: I'm talking about GF civilians-their last sanctuary is breached for the firs time. But I'll do HQ as well.

The artillery shells hammered down on the Torrent positions, throwing troops up into the sky and killing several. The machine guns took a toll as well on troop numbers, slashing through ranks and leaving several bullet-ridden corpses on the ground. However, as much as the humans had the numbers, the Torrent had the technology, and the elite soldiers were willing to use it.

"Seismic Mortars, make a quick set up," the company commander ordered as the troops bunkered down in sheltered sites.

Several troops each set up small Non-LOS platforms behind closed positions, letting fly with the volatile weapons. The Baradium explosives smashed out of the gun launchers, flying towards several of the machine gun nests. When the canister explosives hit the ground, they blasted out each with a wave explosion, shaking tremors and causing a massive concussion force.

"Fire again," called the commander.

The humans hadn't targeted the surviving tank yet, which was odd, though both bikes were now out. The tank was still active, its main cannon now blasting out a plasma round at the machine-gun posts, a white blast streaking towards the MG post.

The guns of battalion quickly turned on the last tank. Its hope almost completely gone. Meanwhile the troops on the north where effectivly break threw, even though tanking heavy casueitlies, in the upwards of thirty. The Echo Company had lost another twenty but was holding its ground, while setting up more machine gun nests. As the other ones had been destroyed. The mortar rounds landed promptly on Charlie company which had a high casueilites, in the upwards of twenty. Battalion HeadQuarters was fairing fine as a few of the deserters came back to headquarters.

Seeing the Amalgamation Aggressor Damion thought ' I knew one of you good for nothing killers would stick your nose in ' as he grabbed the girl with his left arm quickly moving her out of harms way then activated his power armors gatling gun on his right shoulder which started spraying the grotesque
monsters left hand and the weapon it held first, then into the body itself with hyperspeed high caliber, high density bullets. As he turned to face the creature his armors helmet closed around his smiling face then his armors ion rocket pack fired quickly jetting he and the girl into the darkness of the alley across the street.

South Arizona Desert, near Touscan
Motion was little as the sun passed overhead, warming rays beating down and frying the Earth below, cooking the hard dirt and sand. A few desert lizards stood with only feet touching the boiling sand, tongues flitting in and out. A buzzard passed overhead - something was amiss. No other scenes of life seemed to be around, yet in the distance, a growling audible was apparent - a roar of some sorts, getting progressively louder. A cloud was also apparent in the distance, almost a dust devil.
Two Sprite Assault bikes trekked over the sand dunes, recording information on the GF forces stationed across the desert border between captured Mexico and free USA. The Overminds on them were quickly recording data of locations, force compliments, and numbers, sending data back to the main force rapidly approaching. They sped past the dunes, never in sight of the GF forces for more than 5 seconds, skimming in and out of sand banks. They fired their booster engines, flying back to camp quickly when completing the cycle.
The entire force of the Torrent attacking group had already been assembled behind a large wave of sand dunes, a great number of vehicles and troops stretched out. The word was quickly given, and from behind the dune to the plots already given for the GF force stationed on the border, hundreds of seismic mortars plowed out, shooting up and away.

Quebec

The tank splintered as explosive shells smashed into it, breaking up violently and skewering a Torrent soldier with a hunk of gleeming sharpnel. Several of the Ve'ernt noticed some of the machine gun positions going up, and aimed heavy plasma throwers at them, the infantry-artillery weapons roaring as heavy green blasts shot out towards the positions.

(I hope you don't mind if I take control of just a few GF soldiers here.)

The whistle of the Mortars was clearly audible from a long distance; experianced soldiers had enough wits to dive for cover, but many of the new recruits simply stood still, staring up at the sky in wonder. They weren't staring for very long. The deadly shells blew apart soldiers, machinegun posts, tanks, cannons, and anything even remotely resemling a defensive position; Luckily, no stray mortars fell on Feris, but there were quite a few close calls.

The GF soldiers fell back in confusion; a few attempted to make a stand, but were quickly gunned down by Overminds, devoured by Spreaders, or vaporized by the plasma turrets on various tanks and assault bikes. The rest instead decided to run for more suitible cover, leaving the advancing Torrent forces a mostly clear path forward, hapmered by sporatic machinegun and small arms fire from the retreating GF soldiers.

Feris waited patiently as the Torrent took out trenches, artillery positions, and armor, pushing steadily forward. He hadn't bothered to fire a shot yet, lest the aliens discover his position early. The Torrents inched closer and closer, mowing down marines and infintrymen. Any who stood up to the assault, while their efforts were valient, were quickly slain. Finally, the enemy was almost within range...500 meters away...300 meters....barely 200 meters...Feris pulled a small red detenator from one of his pockets, popped the cap, and pressed the button.

A massive myriad of expertly hidden explosives went off beneath the Torrent's feet; TNT, claymore mines, nail bombs, flettchete IED's, artillery shells, a single hundred pound bomb, a dozen other types of homemade weapons, and a couple of oil barrels for good measure tore through the ranks of the aliens, causing absolute havoc. Feris smiled grimly; he had spent all day sneaking behind the backs of the Global Foundation to plant his trap. He watched as scores of Spreaders were vaporized or impaled by shrapnel and tanks were litteraly vaporized. An assault bike was unfortunate enough to be above a claymore mine filled with bycicle ball bearing when it went off; the large metal balls fragmented and shredded the advancing vehicle into scrap metal.

Feris took the time to line up his sights with a desperete Overmind trying to issue orders to his confused troops; he pulled the trigger of his massive rifle, erasing the alien's head from existance. A large supressor erased any of the tell-tale signs of a muzzle flash from the rifle, making it hard to hear and almost impossible to see. Feris pumped the trigger again and again, sending huge armor-peircing bullets into the barrels of tanks and bikes. Specificlly targeting the Overminds, Feris caused a great deal of damage to the command system of the attaking Torrents.

Seeing the enemy forces momentarily stopped by the confusion, the hard-pressed GF marines suddenly rose from their defensive positions, rifles and heavy weapons blazing into the crowd of hopelessly confused Torrents. Unsure of what to do and having a rapidly depleating source of commanders, the aliens wavered for a moment before breaking completely as a fresh wave of GF defenders rushed forward to retake their positions. The Torrent ran for it in one of the few defensive alien movements of the war.

Feris grimiced; that first wave was strong, but there was bound to be more coming. Torrent air support would be present with the next batch of enemies, and even if a second wave could be stopped, Torrent battalions from other locations could swing around after breaking through other GF forces and surround the group of defenders.
