Thyrius is now opening the Thyrian Embassy Exchange Program! The program guidelines are as follows:

1) Your embassy in Thyrius will be located in Embassy Square. A picturesque and highly secure compound a mere 5 minute drive from the Thyrian capital.

2) Your embassy is the sovereign territory of your nation. Ours is the sovereign territory of Thyrius.

3) You may station up to 50 troops in your embassy. They may not leave the embassy armed without permission, but are asked to enjoy our countries fine tourist attractions unarmed as often as they like. You may not store heavy weapons in your embassy.

4) You may keep up to two helicopters in your embassy, neither of which may be armed.

5) You may keep up to five vehicles in your embassy. None of them may be armed but all may be armored.

6) Your embassy staff will enjoy diplomatic immunity whilst in Thyrius.

7) In the event of nuclear war or bombing in Thyrius, your embassy is equipped with a nuclear fallout bunker.

8) If you do not wish to provide your embassy with an armed guard you may request a Thyrian guard of 20 soldiers.

Thyrius is a small country of 7 million located in the Seleucid Empire region. The country follows a loose democracy that does its best to allow for both high levels of civil rights and freedom. The country is proud of its heritage and has a very high cultural identity while striving to become the top nation in the Seleucid Empire.

Says who? This is only a general rule of thumb; he can have as many soldiers as he wants, though as to how well they're trained, or rather, how effective they are in combat makes the difference. Ten million supersoldiers? Unlikely. But something like in say, China, would make sense (poorly trained masses with a few elite).

Excuse me for butting in.

OOC: Well since my total population is 6,000,000 and my total military personnel is only 1.6 percent of my total population. The military manpower available (1,700,000) is just the amount of men who could be enlisted if a drafter ever came that enlisted everyone over the age of 18 to 60.... Which is still a mere 28% of my nations population. Thanks for the advice though I appreciate you trying to help give me a good rule of thumb.

ooc: 5% isnt a set figure that you have to follow, its more of an accepted foggy limit. Most nations have 1-2%, some of the more militaristic ones have upwards of 5, but you should try to be reasonable. You got a civilian workforce that makes the country run and is the economy, oyu have the old and the young which need to be cared for.

But yeah, you shouldnt go much higher than 5, there really isnt a point and after that range effectiveness of the military ussually falls by the way side.

Hell my military is less than 1% of my nations population. 2 million now, though its gonna increase significant as the rp Im in progresses.

It has been decided by the Royal Parliament’s recently passed “Embassies and Horticultural Obstusance Act” that the Salisbury Dominion applies for embassies in foreign states.

I would like for our ambassador to Thyrius to be the honourable Sir Henry Cromsep. He has worked loyally for the Duke of Gull and shall work with the same loyalty for his King. He would like to bring with him his family, an assistant, and a detachment of ten of the Duke of Gull’s Halberdiers. He would also like to bring his private helicopter.
