The Eurasian Government believes its was the best time to open up warmer relations with their friends in Layartreb, just they decide to send their Premier over to open up warmer relations.
An Airbus-380 aka Premier One came to a rolling stop on the runway of Layartreb IAP, the first people to come out of the airbus, where the Premier personal guards, They were dress in black suits with black trench coats. OOC: The following proceedings were RP'd on AIM between O.K. and I.
It was tense inside the Layarteb City Sector Air Defense Command. The Premier's visit had been kept a secret but with the terrorist capabilities of whatever group was stalking the Empire, they had to be careful. When the four F-20 Enforcers and the Premier's Airbus A380 appeared on the scope a few hundred miles out of Layartebian airspace, fighters were put on high alert. The closest flight were four F-41A Defender interceptors, armed heavy with ordinance and fuel. When the five-ship flight reached the twenty-four nautical mile marker, the Layartebian Air Force joined the escort with four F-26 Typhoons, Defenders and Super Eagles in the skies, orbiting in case they had to be called in and attack. Luckily, the terrorist group remained in the dark and the Premier's aircraft touched down on the long runway at Layarteb City IAP without incident. The honor guard presented was waiting for the Premier and his wife and their entourage near a cordoned off hangar and tarmac area. Military police and armed guards made sure that nobody was able to get too close. The aircraft would be stored in a private hangar that was under constant guard.
Layarteb City was 48°F when the plane landed, definitely abnormally warm for December but Mother Nature was one unpredictable force. Who knew what normal really was. It was hazy though and a light oceanic breeze swept northwest from the Atlantic Ocean and up through the city. "Here he comes." The Minister of Foreign Affairs informed his guards and those present. A few television reporters were present but they wouldn't be doing much except for snapping pictures. The Premier, his wife, and their entourage had a dinner appointment with the Emperor on Governor's Island and they couldn't be late. Strapping on a smile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs strode to towards the Premier and his wife and greeted both of them. "On behalf of the Emperor, the Empire, and all of its citizens, may I be the first to welcome all of you to our nation. The Emperor regrets that he cannot be here at this time but he will certainly be available once we set foot upon Governor's Island."
The Premier smiled and spoke in prefect unaccented English. "It's good to be here, I hope this meeting between our nations will lead to more productive relations for our two nations."
"I couldn't agree more. I presume this is your wife, Madam Roxelane al Assad. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am glad you could attend as well. The Emperor is most interested to meet you both. It is a shame that our nations have been friends for so long but this is our first formal meeting. We hope that this will be the first of many. This way please. We have a convoy awaiting to take everyone to the castle. Our main limo can seat up to twelve people, including the driver. Myself and three others shall join us in the limo allowing for up to eight others. Do you wish for your immediate bodyguards or aides to join us?"
Roxelane grinned and said in prefect English. "Yes, that is correct. Yes it's a pity that we haven't had a formal meeting in till now, I do hope to tour this great city of yours."
The Premier remarked. "Two guards and one aide will come with us, the others can follow our convoy." The Premier's entire group comprised four guards and two aides.
"Very well." They stepped into the limousine and the convoy, which included six limo's four LCPD cars, and several Secret Service vehicles headed westward, away from the airport. They merged onto the Belt Parkway and took up all three lanes as they headed westbound on the Belt Parkway, towards the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and the Gowanus Expressway, which led to the sidestreets necessary to merge onto the Wolcott Street Bridge, which led directly to Governor's Island. Immediately after leaving the airport, they passed by the Layarteb City Military Airfield, which was due west of Layarteb City IAP. It was strictly for military use and holding short on the main runway were two F-32A Foxhound interceptors. They looked to the south, some to their left and others to their right, depending on how they were sitting in the limos. The two Foxhounds received their clearance for takeoff and they pushed their throttles all the way up, roaring down the runway for takeoff, some 3,900 feet later. The roar was loud enough to be heard inside of their limos. "Foxhound interceptors. They're going to relieve some patrols already airborne." He smiled as they climbed upwards, the roar of the jet engines shaking the ground.
The Premier decided to break the quiet and make some small talk. "So how is Empire doing lately?"
"Well. Since we declared an end to the conquests, the Empire has grown by leaps and bounds. We are prospering. We are at peace now. We've had our setbacks, as all nations have but we have coped with them accordingly and I can safely and surely say that the Empire is burgeoning into one of the most prosperous nations of the world. We aim to surpass the level that the Federation of Bjornoya reached."
"That's excellent to hear, that the Empire is doing well. The same can be said for the Federation, our economy is growing at a high rate and the quality of life in our nation is improving everyday. It's good to know that both our nations are flourishing." The Premier said.
Shortly thereafter, they reached the bridge, crossed it accordingly, and went through their checkpoints at the start and at the end of the bridge. From there, they pulled up to the main entrance of the castle and the doors of the limos were opened and they were escorted into the main entrance of the castle. It was a large, cavernous room, big enough to hold a few hundred people. Torches and candles burned to light the room, giving it an eerie glow. "This is the main entrance of the castle, the oldest room of it and, just so happens, to be in the northeast corner of the building. The builders had some ulterior meaning to it, we speculate." They looked around but before anyone could speak, the silence was broken, a silence that was just devoid of voices. The inside of the castle was cold, despite the candles and torches.
"Premier. Madam. I am pleased that you could be here. Please. Welcome to my home." From atop a grand staircase, which wound from the center of the room upwards and to two different sides, connecting to a high balcony, the Emperor stood and spoke, a smile on his face.

He strode down the stairs, his suit as sharp as the swords on display on the walls. He hid the sidearm inside of his coat jacket very well and reached the same level as the Premier and his wife, strode up to them, a smile on his face, and shook their hands. "Premier Nasir bin Abdullah al Assad. Madam Roxelane al Assad. I hope that your plane ride over was comfortable. I understand it was a lengthy trip but I hope that you are hungry. We have a beautiful meal planned and ready in the grand dining hall. I hope that you will please follow me?"

“Yes, the trip was quite long...but that’s to expected. “ remarked the Premier, and then they followed the Emperor to the main dining hall.

The grand dining hall was hugemongous. "In the days before the Empire. Before the Republic even. This room held the most people any room could, aside from the ballroom. Inside this one room could sit as many as 480 people. Historians have told us that the Scythian rulers, who commissioned this castle to be built, would entertain dignitaries and parties. The fireplace in that corner is large enough to hold a small vehicle and I have asked that it be burned tonight as this room is terribly difficult to heat by just torches and candles alone. It is rather cold outside but certainly it is far warmer than normal. I am told it is about twenty degrees colder in the Eurasian capital. It should be about that temperature here." They walked around the large dining room table, which was filled with glasses, dishes, food, and it smelled of lamb. That was what was being served. The main course was fresh lamb, which the Emperor would be eating pieces of the leg. Mint jelly and other fine spices were available as well. Side dishes were numerous. The only things not served were pork and alcohol, both of which would have offended the Premier.

“Most interesting history…this place must have a profound influence on your nation history. It goods to have such landmarks for ones people to look up to.” Said the Premier
Then the Premier wife begins to speak “ Yes, Ankara is quite cold around this time of the year…I for one never liked this time of year.”
Layarteb

"Our history books are more than voluminous with this castle. To be honest, we've only explored about 75% of it. It is our oldest landmark and I am sure that Eastasia has landmarks that are far older than our castle here. They are probably equally as magnificent." The Emperor sipped his soda and listened to the Premier's wife. She looked cold even now, in the firestorm of the room. "I hope we have made our room here warm enough for you. I must apologize, this castle is a cold place and it is difficult to heat. I assure you though that your quarters will be more than properly heated. I hope the food is appetizing?"
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 01:53
“Yes…Eurasia has many landmarks as you said…some even day back to 2000 B.C…quite fascinating really…maybe one day I can you show them.” Remarked the Premier and then he took a sip of his water
The Premier wife smiled and said” Its all right…I use to this type of weather back home. The food is simply excellent; you must have a first-rate chief.”

"I must boast that I have the best chef in the Empire working here." They continued to eat, after which would be served desserts, including the Emperor's favorite, Black Forest Cake, amongst other desserts. They would feast throughout the meal, after which, the Premier and his wife and their entourage could take a tour of the castle, if they wished. Otherwise, if the Premier didn't, he and the Emperor would get down to business, in his office.

After everyone had finish eating, the Premier remarked “ That was a meal fitting for a King, hats off to your chief.” Then he told his wife that she and the aids can on the tour of the palace, he told her that he had some business to tend to with the Emperor.

"Very well. I hope that our tour will be as interesting to all of you as it was to me on my first one." He remarked as he stood with the main group. "Premier. If you would follow me." The Emperor led him in the opposite direction, bodyguards surrounding the two of them as they walked down two very cold corridors. They were along the outside wall of the castle and from there, they ascended several sets of staircases, one of them winding the whole way up. They entered the waiting room and through the massive doors into his office, the fire burning in the room, the chandelier and torches giving light. "Premier. Please have a seat. We have much to discuss. Would you like a cigar? They are Cuban." He held out the box of finely wrapped Cuban cigars, fresh from the island.

The Premier took a seat and gladly accept the Cuban cigar, he remarked “Cuban Cigars, the finest cigars in the world. “

"I'm glad you agree." He smiled. "Now. I must say that it is unfortunate that our nations have been friends for so long but we have never had a formal meeting like this. This is the time for us to make due on those past problems." He held out his lighter for the Premier and lit his cigar.

16-12-2006, 05:59
The Premier took a few puffs of his Cigar and replied, “Yes, we just keep on putting off this meeting for too long…its good in way, that we finally got around to doing one, wouldn’t you agree?”
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:02
"I couldn't agree more. You are quite correct. Since then our two nations have come far more close to each other than ever before. We have formed a free trade alliance, we have committed forces to each others' quests, and we have certainly come a long way."
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 06:10
“Yes, we did so much together..yet at the same time…our leaderships never met face to face..such a pity, that as waited in till now to be corrected…but a last, that is the way of things…you plan on doing something, yet something comes up and delays you from what you plan to do..” replied the Premier
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:12
"Most certainly Premier. Most certainly. I know we have a lot to discuss but I must bring something up right away. As you have no doubt noticed and I am sure your allies have too, the Germanian buildup in Algeria."
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 06:18
The Premier took a few puffs of his cigar and replied “Ah the question of the hour, that’s plagues us all…I have read the latest Intel reports on the matter…its most unnerving for my government to say the least…and it has made our friends in Doomingsland a bit uneasy..I certainly hope the Germanians are simply conducting war games and nothing more then that…but we all know better don’t we?”
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:21
"I can't beat around the bush. I do not know their intentions though I have sought it out, unsuccessfully thus far. The Empire is obligated to assist the Germanians and we wouldn't think twice about our pledges and allegiance to them either. However, we are aware of your like pledge to the Imperium. In retrospect, it seems we would be fighting against each other. That is particularly unnerving. Our two nations have no interest or anything to gain by fighting each other." The Emperor seated himself as his desk and clasped his hands in front of him, on the deep, mahogany desk.
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 06:32
“Yes, what a predicament we have now..as you said…our nations have nothing to gain from this war..yet we are bound by our treaty obligations and honor to come our allies aid…so how can we avoid this predicament…none of us want to destroy all these years of work that both our nations have build up…a solution is needed to satisfied both parties.. Equally.” Said the Premier
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:35
"Most certainly. It seems that, perhaps, we could focus our attacks against not each other but others involved in this conflict, should one break out. I know it is a shoddy treatment but it allows us to not only serve our obligations to our allies but also to ourselves as well. We must look out for our own interests as much as the interests of those we are obligated to."
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 06:40
“Ah yes..avoid each other on the battlefield and just focus on the aggressor in my case, it is a win-win situation in matter of speaking …both sides get to do what they need to do without upsetting ones relations in this case.”
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:45
"You are correct. I still fear it is a haphazard solution but I cannot come up with a better one that does not include betrayals. Now. Shall we move onto more important topics?"
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 06:47
“Topic that’s need to bought up is that our nations need to work together more often like our Intel Agencies…we can share information on certain topics..nothing classified of course…and maybe even do some joint operations in the future to take out common persons or organizations of interest for our nations.” Replied the Premier
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 06:57
"As I am sure your intelligence agencies are aware, we are having problems with domestic terrorism and drugs. We know that their background isn't wholly domestic. We're looking abroad but it's a big world. Intelligence sharing not only would help us find out just who is funding these drug czars and terrorists but also we could stop global terrorism and the global drug problem as well. The Empire collects a lot of intelligence, that I can say with confidence."
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 07:11
“Well we both have something in common.. Drugs lords and Terrorist…we have those problem also within Eurasia , our Intel agencies will do wonders working together in taking out those groups out for the greater good of our nations and the world.”
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 17:26
"Very well. We shall establish an intelligence sharing network. The Empire will benefit equally as much as Eurasia. Drugs only lead to the decay of society and terrorism is the most vile and evil creation man has ever come up with to this point. What about the possibility of joint exercises with our militaries? I think we would both benefit from such exercises, especially with the rise of certain powers throughout the world, powers I will discuss in one moment."
Ottoman Khaif
16-12-2006, 19:36
“I believe the Eurasian arm forces would be most interested in conducting joint exercises…to improve out skills in combat.” The Premier pause for moment and said” Which powers are you talking about..there is quite a few out there..”
Layarteb
16-12-2006, 21:20
"There are three powers in particular that are a threat to global security. The first and foremost is the Commonwealth of Asia, centered in Japan. They have recently began moves against our Cottish allies and we believe that they are planning something larger. They are also, as we believe, in cohorts with the second power, the United Nations of the Syndicate, which we believe is a state that not only supports and funds terrorists but is planning to unleash terrorism throughout the entire world. We have evidence that the attacks against the Cottish in Tokyo were conducted by terrorists under their funding and most likely with the support of the Commonwealth of Asia. The third power is the reemerging Russian Dictatorial Union, which was, in its heyday, the single largest threat to international peace and security. With the rise of the RDU, we expect some sort of loose allegiance between these three powers as they all hold the Empire and the October Alliance as the 'devil,' so to speak. We believe that an alliance between these three nations could constitute the most dangerous foe to existence since the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs."
Ottoman Khaif
17-12-2006, 03:53
“ The Commonwealth of Asia has been carefully studied by the Eurasian Government. Their actions tend to chaotic at times..which is unnerving at times.. but if they join up with these other two powers as you spoke of …Eurasia will stand by your side and take this threat down without a second thought.”
Layarteb
17-12-2006, 05:29
"That is certainly comforting but it is not enough. We have to know what these three nations are doing before they do it. We have to establish an intelligence directive dedicated to these three nations and make sure that we have joint operations and sharing between us on these matters. Combined, these three nations could kill billions and we know who their first targets would be, that inside of the Empire.
"In cooperation for this I want to be the first to offer you the export of the H-72 Lakota. It is a new helicopter that is barely out of testing yet and it has yet to go public. If the Eurasian government is interested, we will offer sale of however many you wish."
Ottoman Khaif
17-12-2006, 06:17
The Premier smiled and said” The Eurasian Government is always interest in the products of your fine nation. I’ll allow my Ministry of Defense to handle this matter and give you a exact number of how many they need for the arm forces.”
Layarteb
17-12-2006, 07:05
"I am glad to hear it. Are there any other matters you have on your mind before we continue? I feel we must talk of trade soon. Our two nations are plentiful in resources and we are more than pleased with the free trade agreement thus far. Perhaps we can augment and modify it accordingly?"
Ottoman Khaif
17-12-2006, 20:05
“No, not at all, we have cover all the bases so far..let us move on to trade. Yes, the free trade agreement has bought great wealth to our nations. Nevertheless, what you have in mind to change in the treaty?”
Layarteb
17-12-2006, 23:43
"Well. We want to expand perhaps 10 to 15 percent on our previous quotas and limits. In addition, we feel it is necessary to increase the travel quota for Eurasian citizens to the Empire from 65,000 to 80,000 per year."
Ottoman Khaif
17-12-2006, 23:55
“That’s is a agreement able, and vice versa for my nation..we’ll gladly quotas for your people from 75,000 to 100,000 a year..this will mutually benefit our nations tourism industry in long run..”
Layarteb
18-12-2006, 00:46
"Tourism does serve to benefit significantly from our rulings here and I must admit that tourism in the Empire is on a significant rise. Hopefully, this will keep it going, especially in the Caribbean. Now, Premier, it feels as if I have been chatting this whole time. Please. What issues do you wish to bring to the table?"
Ottoman Khaif
18-12-2006, 01:58
“No, its quite alright…in fact I do have something to bring up, my government would like to set up a cultural exchange program between our two nations, like having a student exchange program or trade expos to show off our nation cultural to our peoples.”
Layarteb
18-12-2006, 04:51
"So a cultural exchange you say. I do believe that would foster increased trade between our nations, allow our universities to share their intellectual depths, and allow for much stronger bonds and relations in time. I do believe it is a splendid idea."
Ottoman Khaif
18-12-2006, 05:23
“ I concur, this exchange will help foster a strong bond between our nations in the long and also it will promote a greater degree of understanding between our peoples.”
Layarteb
18-12-2006, 05:49
"That is what you and I have to look forward to, the future, a future where both of our nations must be properly allied with each other and properly set off, in a world where chaos could very well reign. We have an uncertain future lying ahead of us and the best defense we can have against its ills can only be our preparedness today. If you don't mind, I would like you to address my Cabinet tomorrow with these findings and suggestions and we shall see their implementation. For now though, I believe we are done? Unless there is more you wish to offer."
Ottoman Khaif
18-12-2006, 19:55
“ I believe we have cover everything so far. Its best to rest now and be ready for tomorrows actives.”
Layarteb
19-12-2006, 03:10
"You are correct. Perhaps we should. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. The Cabinet briefing will begin at 08:00 hours but I would like to bring you in at 09:30 hours. There is a lot of business that my ministers and I must discuss to get that to rest, in order to give you proper attention. I will show you to your quarters if you like?"
Ottoman Khaif
19-12-2006, 03:17
“Sure, go ahead show me my room…and I hope tomorrow is going to be as productive as today was.”
Layarteb
19-12-2006, 03:49
"Very well. This way." The Emperor stood and led the Premier out of his office, into the corridor and down towards the Premier's quarters. It was far from the Emperor's office but it was definitely a wonderful walk past swords and paintings, suits of armors, and other artifacts. The quarters were large and spacious with a massive, four-post, king sized bed that was made of beautiful wood, decorated by hand craftsmen. The furniture in the room was at least 300 years old and it was the most lavish of all the quarters in the castle.

After the Emperor left, the Premier wife came in, she had just finish her tour of the Castle. Both were fairly tired from the day actives and quickly fell asleep. The both woke up bright and early in the morning; they first refreshed themselves for the day events. They both knew today was going to very long and busy for the both of them.

The Premier would be sitting there for a few minutes, during which time the television screen in the waiting room showed the Layarteb News Network and the happenings around the world. There was a lot of attention being paid to the Premier's visit to the Empire as well.

Ottoman Khaif
21-12-2006, 21:27
The Premier nodded and summed up what Emperor and him discussion, on the matters of travel, trade, arm sells, culturally exchange, Intel sharing for the war on drugs and etc. The Premier talked about these topics for at least 20 minutes to insure that he covered all the bases.
“Now any questions or comments?” asked the Premier
Layarteb
22-12-2006, 01:08
The Cabinet was pleased with the recommendations and they presented some simple questions, most of the same that the Emperor himself asked.
