“The Neutrality” [Earth V]

Having joined the rest of the fleet days ago off the coast of the Netherlands and sailing through the Notorious North Sea, Admiral Westendorp was finally glad to be leaving the North Sea and entering the Danish Straits. In all his years of commanding and serving on ships, this had to be the worst sea he had even been in. Added to that, Naval Command decided to send the fleet during a massive storm. If, it hadn’t been for his quick thinking during the transit this operation could of ended before it even had gotten started with the loss of the Frigate Almirante Juan de Borbon and severe damage to his flagship. The resulting collision would have caused God knows how many problems out here in these rough seas and violet weather. Lucky, that fate had been averted and the small Fleet of Frigates, Destroyers, Assault Ships, and a Single Carrier were not far from their target destination.

Upon entering the Danish Straits, Admiral Westendorp issued his orders to the fleet. Orders, he him self had not been allowed to see until he had entered the Danish Straits. Over, the ships intercom Westendorp read the orders aloud.

“From Naval High Command- Your orders upon the reading of this message are to make for the ports of Goteborg, Helsingborg, Malmo, Oxelosund, Stenungsund, Stockholm and Trelleborg in Sweden. Upon receipt of this message you are to reduced your speed to either ½ or 1/3 depending on the conditions and as you see fit. You are not to take any hostile action unless as a last resort. Furthermore, all ships are hereby order to raise the White Flag. Upon docking in the designated ports, the attaches that have joined the fleet will assume full command and you are to take their orders and only their orders.” End Message.

With the message read, the activity on the ships entered full swing. In a few hours all ships would be at the assigned place and all that was left would be to wait for orders that may or may not come. Unknown to many aboard, selected units of the Army of both the Kingdom of Iberia and Benelux had joined the fleet and were aboard key ships. It had been tense sailing through the confine space of the Danish Straits, how would the Sweden’s react or the Great Sixth Reich. However, it an been an uneventful journey and the ships entered their designated ports and dropped anchor.

At this, a few key personnel left the ships at each terminal. Rumors aboard the ships soon began to spread as to exactly why the fleet was here. It wasn’t as if they were doing anything and if they were indeed here for action. They wouldn’t be able to do much, do to their such small numbers. Some began to hope that maybe, it was for Shore Leave for a change. Some had family in Sweden and with the collapse of the country had lost contact with their family members. When, some began to ask for Shore Leave though they weren’t turned down outright, they weren’t given approval either. It was indeed a very confusion situation especially to those aboard.

Meanwhile, on land......

ooc: Excuse me, but is this before our little war? Because I announced my intentions before this RP occured, meaning that this fleet... hell... may not even exist!

So you don't have enough time to calculate a few stats, but plenty of time to RP an invasion?

I may have to gobble up a few Nations myself seeing how you have put the war on indefinate hold.

OCC: I'm assuming it is taking place before our little war, because that guy was on the inactive list long before you plan to attack me or did attack me. BTW, check the main international thread. I posted the information you ask for and I'm officially ready. So, as you to your question. I didn't have time for neither early, but I made the time to get it up. And for your information it wasn't a few stats. I had to do it for 4 countries, which took over an hour. That one post took only half that time. But, I did get to the information you asked for so I don't know what your so upset about. I did as I promised.

As I said early in the paragraph, the war is off the hold. Begin, when your ready.

While I respect any procrastination problems you may have, remember it's not allowed to consider any RPs past the point Vineyard asked for the information as happening before or at the same time. Time is "frozen" IC, which is why it's necessary to get these things done quickly. Particularly I am concerned over this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=510789) and this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12076689&postcount=69).

What were you saying?

Just remember, if you miraculiously tack Sweden to your list of nations pre-war, I can just as easily tack Iraq, Syria, and Kuwait onto the list, giving me a few more battlegroups + freeing-up the 3rd Battlegroup.

Ya-dig?

If, you RP it good. You have had those nations marked in your color before the war you want. As you can see, I started a RP for Sweden and plan to RP my course of action and not easily tack it into my control. You just claiming those countries without a RP I won't accept and I don't think you would accept me just claiming Sweden without RPing it. However, if you do a good RP and then claim them I'm fine with it. And I expect more then two posts on them like you did with the Congo (the smaller one that borders Gabon.) Ya-dig man?

SIC/IC: As the convey of vehicles made haste through the streets of Stockholm, a reflection of light happen to catch Johan’s eye through the thick bullet resistance glass window. What he saw in that fleeting moment would stay with him for the rest of his life. In the streets the Riots were still going strong in the once great capital of Sweden, Johan could only image what the rest of the country looked like. Destruction was everywhere and soon he feared, death would follow. This wasn’t the first time this had happen to his beloved home land, but he swore to himself it would be the last time his homeland would find it self completely consumed by anarchy. At the rate of velocity the convey of armored vehicles were traveling they would soon be at their target, the Rosenbad Building, which just so happen to be the Prime Minister of Sweden’s Office.

Upon arrival at the Rosenbad, Johan quickly exited the vehicle flanked by body guards on all sides. From, there he made his way to the main office and threw open the doors to the Prime Minister’s office. What he saw before him was as shocking of a sight as he had seen traveling through the streets. There, before him crouched up in his chair was the once great leader of Sweden. Johan, had never before seen such a look of dread on a person’s face. Quickly gathering his thoughts, Johan’s began to speak “Mr. Prime Minister, on behalf of the governments of the Kingdom of Iberia and the Kingdom of Benelux, we have come to help you and your fellow countrymen. All you need to do is sign this.” At that, Johan slipped a piece of paper in front of the Prime Minister. Lifting his head up off his desk, as the Prime Minister read it, a expression a shock and horror enter his faced that had been once filled with dread. With a weak voice he spoke, “I can’t sigh this, this goes against everything my people have fought against and stood for.” At that, Johan raised his voice a few decimals and responded with the following “Mr. Prime Minister, we can do this the easy way by you signing this or the hard way. We both know your country will be unable to resist if we do it the hard way and that way will only bring unto your people more suffering. Sign the damn piece of paper and save your people from the pits of hell once and for all. You have my word, that never again will your people; my people know suffering.”

Johan had not expected that statement to work, but when the Prime Minister slowly picked up his pen and signed the paper, his job was now officially done having barely lasted 10 minutes. Grabbing the paper, Johan quickly thanked the Prime Minster and wished him a good day. With his assignment over, Johan and his guards were gone just as quickly as they had arrived. Soon, Johan’s knew would the next phase begin. Had he willing condemn his own people to more suffer or through his single action spared the lives of thousands. He hoped his actions would turn out to be the latter, for he could never forgive himself if he had willing helped in destroying his own country, culture and fellow countrymen.

IC [more a communication between the Emirate and RUN, but it's a public communication]: News reports from Sweden have led to suspicions that elements of a foreign fleet were docked in Stockholm. The Emirate has conducted an inquiry into the situation and curiously asks the RUN why it holds a military presence in the region.

OCC: Why not? I think he's going to love it when he sees what I'm going to do to his homeland. :D

Also, since Sweden is in the middle of a Civil war, news reports would be little to non-existent. No, one has declared IC they have reporters in country. Besides, they might not want to be their after they see the picture I'm going to paint. This is the 3rd time Sweden/Finland have fallen into anarchy.

IC: Emir, the Republic has no forces currently located anywhere near Sweden. I assure you, if the Republic had any intention of direct intervention at this point it would have done so already. All Republican forces at still at their present locations in Southern France, South Korea and Japan. We can't say where you got your information from, but I would advise you not to trust that source anymore, furthermore the Emirate need not worry about Republican interference in Sweden.

SIC: With the treaty signed, the next most difficult part of the operation was to begin. It was to be to the final and only step. Though, the country was in chaos there was some semblance of order. The major cities still had power for now at least. The military of Sweden though, was a different story. Though at the moment still largely intact, it was bogged down in the cities trying to help to maintain order with local police. That mission was turning out with mixed results, with some units completely abandoning their posts and returning home to protect their properly and loved ones. If, steps soon weren't taken what was left of the Swedish military would soon be non-existent. That, neither Kingdom wish to see as the support of the Swedish Government and it's military was key to turning the tide back towards stability. The first step to ensuring their goal was to bring order back to the major cities.

The treaty Johan had gotten the Swedish Prime Minister to sign would make the first and hardest step easier to undertake and accomplish. With the plan worked out, the orders were sent down the chain of command. First, before any major action was taken a message was broadcast on all airwaves on behalf of the Swedish Government. "As of 1800 hours, a state of Marital Law will be in effect. Any citizens found on the streets after 1800 hours will be arrested and detained. All military personnel are to report to their posts immediately and wait for further orders."

Placing the Iberian and Benelux forces under Swedish flags, the following units began to assemble on land from the many ships in port. The Johannes Infantry Regiment took control of Goteborg with the Prins Frederick Henry Marine Battalion in a supporting role in taking control of Stenungsund to the north of Goteborg, both units were being supported by the Swedish Livregementets husarer regiment. In, Helsingborg the 50th "Espana" Infantry Regiment was tasked with guarding the town. The Baron Wappers Infantry Regiment and Isabél la Católica Marine Battalion would jointly take control of Malmo and Trelleborg. The Yser Marine Battalion would take control over Stockholm and Oxelosund with the Swedish Army Livgardet regiment providing support.

Providing the special operations need, the Juliana Special Forces Battalion was divided up among the many different locations to support all units in the field. In all, a total of 12,846 combat troops had slipped into the country and were now fighting not for their country, but for Sweden's.

How long it would take before complete order was restored would depend not on the military, but on the civilians. Johan, could only hope that his people would finally put down their petty differences that had divided them all these years and work together towards building a better, more Peaceful Sweden. For, years Sweden had been an inspiration to many countries. Johan was damned sure going to try to regain for his people the greatness and stability that it so richly deserved. Sweden, had always been the underdog, but if history had shown anything Sweden could and would overcome it's second place status and regain it's position as a world leader. However, for now- Johan was busy making sure his country went forward towards progress and not backwards into oblivion.

[ooc: just for clarification, there is little in the way that any fleet will pass through the Danish Straits without being detected by those who own it [TG6R]. Furthermore, you state yourself here: "Rumors soon began to spread as to exactly why the fleet was here." Your change of flags did not occur in the Danish Straits, so I can only presume that you sailed through TG6R waters to reach your final destination. So from basic conjecture, we know this:

* The RUN has a force in the Baltic Sea.

Unless your definition of "anywhere near" doesn't include the Baltic, we're naturally inclined to be suspicious. TE DECET, VERITAS VOS LIBERABIT.]

OCC: I'm fully aware that TGSR would be aware of the fleet. However, I did have the flags changed upon first entering the Danish Straits, add to that a major storm is in the area. So, visibility is going to be reduced- my ships almost collided with each other. That's why upon entering the straits the fleet was spit up and sailed through as individual ships, so as to reduce the risk of the ships running into each other and to look as non-threaten as possible.

What I meant about the rumors was that they were aboard the ships themselves. I edited my post according to better reflect what I meant, so I'm sorry for the confusion. See-Rumors aboard the ships soon began to spread as to exactly why the fleet was here. Also, your taking OCC stuff into IC stuff. The Republic doesn't want it's involvement seen, hence the ships having their flags withdrawn and any other markers that would identify the ships as Republican and then placing the troops and ships under Swedish Flags. I've also declared Martial Law, so news coming out of Sweden has pretty much just come to an end. So, you finding out about my involvement is going to be very difficult minus the fact I'm roleplaying this as SIC (Secret In-Character).

I hope that puts all your questions to rest. If, not I be more then happy to answer any more questions you might have. Until, then on with the RP.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SIC: Having the backing of the Swedish Government was proving to be most beneficial to the operation. On the other hand, the cold stormy weather wasn't helping in the slightest. The weather was just one of many things that was causing delays. Coordinating with the Swedish Armed and Police forces was proving to be the difficult part. With very few Iberian and Benelux forces able to speak Swedish, the task of bring chaos into order was made all the more difficult. Thankful, High Command in hindsight had assigned Special Forces to the operation and each unit had a squad assigned to it. With the Special Forces providing the lead- this operation just might work. However, bringing a city of millions under control was no easy task even when the conditions were perfect. Still it was either that or give up completely, a thought so far had not crossed anyone’s mind. The Republic knew it could do it and adding to the fact that it had experience it these type of operations, it's optimism was well placed.

The first cities to be returned to a sense of normalcy, if it could be called that were Goteborg and Stenungsund followed a day later by the Capital "Stockholm". Even with these accomplishments, disorder still raged throughout most of the country. In the south, where most of the population was concentrated and with little forces in the area besides police would see the greatest concentration of rioting. Malmo and Trelleborg, being the exception with military personnel in the area to enforce Marital Law. Still, even with the military in the area- the rioting was as bad as it had been days before. Power was for the first time, finally going out throughout the country after days of being battered by North Sea Storms and no one to repair the power lines and transmission grids.

One of the first task’s to calming public opinion, the Republic realized was to return a sense of life that had existed before the breakdown. That included electricity to run the heaters and running water for cooking and other things. As such, one of the first steps taken in securing the cities was controlling the Power Stations. Gradually, as the lines were restored so be would the power, until then generators were distributed to reduced the risk to the population from hypothermia. One good thing about the storm was that it reduced the roads to being unusable to general vehicles without four-wheel drive. Though it also reduced for the time being the ability to use the Helicopters that had been brought along with those in service in Swedish Service. Still, the storm was expected to clear up in a few days and by then the power was expected to be restored to about 60% of operating capacity.

In the meantime, the battles continue in the streets with mixed results. Though the capital had been secured, the complete control of Södermanland and Uppland Province remained. Until, both these provinces could be brought under control- the stability of the capital would be in question.

SIC/IC: Within less then a week of taking control of Stockholm and the surrounding area, it wasn’t long before the entire country came around. As tranquillity gradual spread throughout Sweden, there was new hope in the air. After the collapse of three governments all within the last ten years, the populace of Sweden had come to the end of the road. The masses were ready for change, a permanent change. The task of bringing this change into fruition was made easier by the fact that for once, the damage done to both the economy and the infrastructure had been minium. Of course, there had been looting and rioting, but as a whole the business that drove the economy of Sweden were intact. In time, as Marital Law was lifted the towns and cities throughout Sweden returned to normal life.

Many were comforted by the fact that as soon as new elections could be held to replace the Acting Provisional Government, things would be better then before. It was with great pride that the Swedish people felt knowing that even after the collapse of a there national government and major civil disturbances that democracy if given a chance still worked and worked it indeed did. [SIC part:]After less then a month in country, their wasn’t much more for the forces of the Kingdoms of Iberian and Benelux to do. As the Swedish people started the task of stepping up, the foreign forces under Swedish control started to step down. The experience gained by all sides would serve as a stepping stone to building a peaceful relationship and maybe, just maybe an alliance. It was hoped that Sweden would one day join the Republic, but for now that wasn’t a possibility.[End of SIC part] The prospect of joining the coming war, was not something the Swedish People and Government were ready for after over a hundred years of maintaining a neutralist policy.

SIC:

"You called for me", replied Johan's.

"Yes, my friend. It has been reported to me that upon completion of our assignment here you have decided to remain in country. Is this correct?"

Caught a little off guard by his friends knowledge of his intentions, intentions Johan had only told to a select few. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Johan had finally gather his senses back together to answer the General-"Well Sir, I don't know how you found out but, it's true I do plan to stay. But, you didn't call me in here to discuss my future plans, did you Sir?"

"You always were a bright one. Your right, Johan I didn't call you in here for that. You have served us well these past few months and well, it would be a shame to lose you and your talents. As such, I have a job that will allow you to remain in country and at the same time to continue helping us in bringing together a New World Order. A world built on trust and cooperation."

"What's the job, General?"

"How would you like to be Prime Minister?"

 (The surprise in Johan's face was unexplainable). "Sir, did I hear you right? Prime Minister of Sweden!?"

"That's right my friend, what other Prime Minister were you thinking of?"

"I don't know what to say, Sir." "All you have to say is that you accept".

After a few minutes of thinking it over, Johan’s gave his answer-"I accept the honor you bestow upon me, Sir. But, sir as you well know, I don't have any experience in politics."

"That's what makes you the perfect man for the job, my friend. Will be announcing your candidacy soon-I'd suggest you start preparing for the long road ahead."

"Yes, Sir I will and Sir, thank you for everything."

"You can thank us, by continuing to do what you do best."

"I will Sir, I will."[End SIC]

IC: So, began a new day for Sweden and it's people. A day that would forever remain in the minds of only a select few who had been present that day.

IC: As Johan’s waited for the final results from the elections to come in, he couldn’t help but think back to when he had started on this road to be leader of Sweden. Never in his wildest dreams did Johan’s ever image himself in the place he now found himself. Still, even after months and months on the campaign trail it was up to the voters of Sweden to decided if they thought he and his party were the right people to lead them towards a new path. Even with forming an alliance with the other three major centre-right parties, Johan’s still wasn’t sure if this would bring victory to him, his party and to the Alliance. The Social Democrats party, which was founded in 1889, had held the power of office for a majority of terms in recent history including the last twelve years. The very ideology and policies of the Social Democrats had shaped it’s influence upon Swedish politics. Against, such a popular party, Johan’s could only hope that the alliance he had made with the Centre Party, the Liberal People's Party, and the Christian Democrats which then became known as the Allians för Sverige (Alliance for Sweden) would unite together enough people to give them the majority in the elections that were to take place on September 17th.

That day had finally come and passed, with the elections now over. All that was left to do was wait for the Swedish Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) to announce the results. On September 21st, what all including Johan’s had long been waiting for happen. The results were in. Out of a population of 6,892,009 eligible to vote a total of 5,650,416 or 81.99 percent of the population able to vote, turned out to cast their vote. It had been a close race, but in the end the Alliance for Sweden won the majority with 2,677,796 votes or 48.24 percent of the vote. Out of a total of 349 seats in the Riksdag (Sveriges Riksdag {Sweden's Parliament}) the alliance had won a total of 178 seats with the Moderate Party winning 97 seats (26.1%), the Centre Party winning 29 seats (7.9%), the Liberal People's Party winning 28 seats (7.5%) and the Christian Democrats winning 24 seats (6.6%).

With their victory in the elections, the Alliance for Sweden now had firm control of the government and set about to form their coalition government. In order to do this, the four parties in the Alliance for Sweden decided to issue common policy statements and to have a joint election manifesto. Each individual party would still have its own manifesto and policies, but these will be built up from common proposals to form the Alliance's joint proposals. The Alliance’s next step was to step up policy working groups for six areas: economic policy, education policy, foreign policy, the welfare state, employment and business policy, and policing. A few months later, the four centre-right parties of the Alliance for Sweden formed a government with Johan Reinfeldt as Prime Minister, which was presented to the Riksdag on October 6th. The last and final step was to create a cabinet, this task was completed the same day Johan took office as Prime Minister. In return for their support in winning the election and in agreement with all parties in forming a coalition government, four Cabinet seats each were held by both the Centre Party and the Liberal People's Party for a total of eight Cabinet positions, three were given to people in the Christian Democrats and the final eleven Cabinet positions were run by people in Johan’s own party, the Moderates.

With a stable democracy having almost fully returned to Sweden, the government and people of Sweden could once again return to the business at hand. The first policy on the agenda of the new government was that of foreign matters.

Secret In-Character (SIC): The people of Sweden had long held the belief of neutrality, but what good was neutrality when the nations of the world no longer respected that neutrality. The world had changed and it was time Sweden adjusted it’s attitude accordingly. A new more aggressive Russia was on the rise, new Empires/Dictatorships not seen since the 1930's had rose up throughout the world. The almost complete subjugation of the Western Hemisphere by the United States, the same United States that had preached give me liberty or give me death had joined this new era in which the rule of law no longer applied. This new era did not bold well for peace or for Sweden, whose influence had brought many deadly wars to end. In it’s belief of neutrality, Sweden had long rejected the joining of NATO or of any military alliance. If, Sweden was going to survive in this New World Order it would need allies. With military units of the Iberian Kingdom and the United Netherlands, both members of the Republic, secretly operating units inside Sweden under Swedish Command the choice was clear on who were Sweden’s friends and who were it’s potential enemies. It had been and only been the Republic to come to the aid of Sweden during the “time of crisis” as the civil disturbance become known to be called. As the units of the Republic were either withdraw to return home or integrated into the Swedish Armed Forces, Johan quietly and unbeknownst to no one else expect his Minister of Foreign Affairs began to seek membership into the Republic.

How this would turn out or what course of action it would required Sweden to take was anyone guess. But, one thing was clear with a war looming over Europe and possibly in the Western Hemisphere. The role, Sweden would find itself in would not be one of peace, but one of war not seen since the early days of the 1800's. Were the people of Sweden ready for this new role remained to be seen. But, Johan would do his up most to keep his countrymen out of any war for as long as possible. In, the meantime-with the undisclosed help of the Republic and it’s allies and the Great Sixth Reich the nation of Sweden would prepare for war against any nation that so choose to ignore Sweden’s right of neutrality.

Just a friendly reminder.

OCC: Thanks for the reminder, but actually you got wrong what TGSR ruled.

Yes, I went and dug up his post of his ruling. I thought it was for the best.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12178384&postcount=2205

That's slightly different than what I actually ruled. I ruled that when an imminent war is "on hold"/"frozen"/"paused" due to OOC concerns, nations involved cannot continue RPs or start new RPs (such as conquering Sweden in this case) and expect it to occur before the war starts if it gives them an advantage.

and

All RPs after the freezing point (the formal declaration of war, in this case) by those in the war occur either after the war starts or not at all, that is my viewpoint.

1. Considering the war has already began and we already had some nice agruements over it- I think I'm free to continue my RP. And I've already stated I will not claim them until the war ends, but the RP still stands as written until then.

2. Time can't be frozen, you are always doing something-time can be slowed, but not stop. It's been two weeks since I cleared up all OCC issues with Sharina and yet, he has yet to officially attack me. By, officially I mean posting in the Main War thread as you and I have been doing along with everyone else. One war, one place.

3. Since, I provided both the link to the post and a quote of it, you can read for yourself that it does not say after the conclusion of the war, but after the war starts. It already started over two weeks ago and all OCC issues relating to the so-called freeze were resolved long ago.

4. Last time I'll say this-I'm not claiming them until after the war ends because of the advantage that gives me. However, you are of course free to attack them, but you do so at your own risk. Since, I have no plan to use either Sweden or Bangladesh manpower or resources in the war-you have no need to attack them while attacking them will in essence bring them over to my side (The Republics) and hence allow me to use them. Just to let you know, I'm going to have both Sweden and Bangladesh declare their neutrality during the war. So, if you want to risk everything on attacking a neutral power that will gain you nothing in the long run-your free to do so. And if you haven't noticed-I put up military declarations for both Sweden and Bangladesh. That’s the military you'll be facing and trust me-Sweden had the resources to stand up to the Soviet Union if the Cold War ever went hot. It's even better prepared today and I've even take it a step further.

5. With that all said, I hope you have been enjoying the Roleplay and I plan on continuing it for now.

OCC: Since, this thread has been inactive for quite some time I thought it best to bring an end to this RP. I hope this post meets with everyones approval.

The End of Neutrality:

After almost a year of hard work, Jones along with many of his fellow countrymen and women had brought Sweden back from the brink of collapse. Life had returned to normal, war had been averted and the economy of Sweden was booming like never before. All in all, life was good in Sweden and yet, the new realities Sweden found itself living in did not bode well for a nation that had prided itself on remaining free from other nations affairs and concerns. Living in a world without friends brought with it untold risks, their were many nations that had set their eye’s upon the riches that were Sweden. Lacking the massive populations of these other nations that could one day be their enemy only made the position of the Swedish people all the more difficult. Jones knew that his country could never defeat any of these invaders alone and that to keep even a semblance of his country intact he would need foreign help. During the difficult times of the Cold War, Sweden had secured the resources of NATO to come to it’s defense in times of need. With NATO no longer being around that left Sweden in the difficult position of having to defend it’s sovereignty from potential enemies that were more then three times on average bigger in the term of the size of their populations and the amount of resources they had at their disposal.

With these problems clear for all to see, Jones with the support of the Riksdag [Swedish Parliament] began the process of minimizing if not entirely eliminating the disadvantages Sweden found itself in. The first step was to increase the amount of money the armed forces received. Using this money, the armed forces would for one be increased in size and two acquire more advance weapons systems including for the first time in decades, frigate class ships. Also, included in the growth of the Swedish military was the development of a blue-water navy. Through this new capability the Swedish Navy would be able to project it’s power far from it’s borders and with hope prevent it’s potential enemies from ever striking Swedish lands.

The second step was the joining of the Republic and maybe, hopefully securing a defensive alliance with the Great Sixth Reich. With the resources of even one of those members behind them, Sweden without a doubt would be able to survive and of the possibility of both supporting Sweden in it’s defense of it’s homeland no nation would ever dare attack the peaceful nation of Sweden. After, a few weeks of roundabout debates with the other members of the Republic, Sweden had officially joined the Republic and for better or worse was leaving a way of life it had guarded over for nearly a century. However, whether an alliance with the Great Sixth Reich could be achieved was yet to be seen, but Jones knew that to survive in this new world order. Sweden could not cling to it’s past at the expense of it’s future. Though it was a sad day throughout Sweden the day the alliance with the Republic was signed, Jones knew in his heart it was for the greater good. So it was on that renowned day of June 25th that...

The End of Neutrality for Sweden had Come to Pass.

THE END?

ooc: I did a similar thing to the coup plot in Kenya... I'm still wary about how this will play into the war, since there's obviously now more at stake, but we can talk about this later when Sharina's attention comes to it.

OCC: Well accourding to the agreement made prior to the war starting, Sweden will not factor in till the war is over one way or another. However, since it's obvious the war is not going anywhere anytime soon I thought that atleast I should finish this up considering it's been sitting in a holding pattern. Anyway, I typed up an IC post that should hopefully bring the war to an end if Sharina chooses to take the route I have layed out. The message explains it all.
