On a cold winters day in Clandonia Prime, in the central plains of Verdan at the Clandonian Space Station four military space shuttles were on their launch pads/ Ready to release the last four satellites of the Clandonian Corporations new defence programe named Skynet which involved the control of all Clandonian computer assets to be placed under the direct control of an advanced AI.

The project was had been started in the 1990's by the Corporation which launched the first satellite units to beam television and comminications down to Clandonia giving millions access to high speed internet and mobile telephony. By the dawn of the 21st century the increase in computer virus activity represented a real threat to communications so scientists went to work to complete a programe that could eradicate all rogue elements in the network. The name Skynet was termed and was used in the Sisser Virus Outbreak of 2005 where it cleaned the network in two days after a week of slow down and damage which was in the billions of Clanders. As the programe advanced into the Corporations military arm who took interest in the small project. The first 'Auto-kill' UAV drones were powered by an embedded version which linked up to the command entity of Skynet sucessfully used in field trials by the Corporations security forces the army took interest and the contract of $200 Billion was awarded for the wide spread role out to include, fax, internet and voice command and control of the entire Clandonian armed forces.

The talented programers of the Corporation worked on improvement, eventually by late 2005 building a beta that contained all possible battle plans used for the military in the event on say an attack they could be executed by Skynet even without human intervention. Hailed as possible dangerous move there were three boards of consultation by the Clandonian Parliament for Defence matters with the final verdict giving the go ahead for the project. As the satellites were placed in orbit at a great cost, a test firing of a 'God-Rod' orbital system onto a target near Danskeran was sucessful and there were celebrations all round, controlled and executed completely by Skynet.

By late 2006 the project was in its final stages with the software complete and the hardware systems nearly in place. Orbitaly placed systems as well as extensive ground based facilities containing the multiple thousands of powerful CPU's and memory storage systems of the AI. As the four shuttles powered off into the darkening winter sky, the chief engineer relaxed, his project was now complete and he looked forward to his retirement and his health pension packet. The satellites assumed their geo-sync orbit and the power up began at 6 PM Clandonian Eastern Time as the massive server banks, hard drives, procesors spun into action, all air conditioned in vast underground bunker networks built specialy for the purpose of the Skynet system. By 6.15 PM skynet had fully booted up and was now in control of the entire Clandonian military as well as the Corporations military which had been beta testing the product for some time.

Many would proberly worry about a computer controlling every single weapon down from orbital thermonuclear systems down to the key coded weapon lockers at a security post.... Whatever, one of the most advanced computer systems was looking after things and many of the scientists hoped there were no bugs like what happened when the Corporations own nuclear systems killed 2,000,000 people in Clandonian Africa after Skynet developed a fault launching nuclear missiles at what it thought was a hostile nation. The scientists blamed it on a bug that was elimated in later versions, some in the military suggested a kill switch but this was never implicated due the to the time constraints and increasing cost of the programe that now had risen to $3.5 trillion.

However it troubles me that there is apparently no safety mechanism controling the computer. Regardless of the fact that our two nations' military codes are completely opposite in the field of using computers to control everything, I will not impose my beleifs on you. On the afternoon of the 13th at around 4.30 PM CET all systems went down after storms disrupted power to the entire Eastern grid of the Clandonian coastline cauing severe delays in rush hour transport and communications chaos as cell networks and internet nodes went down. The intial freak weather had hit main transformer lines just North of Danskerans nuclear plant owned by the Corporation. The subsequent burst travelled through the grid before it could be stopped by transformers at Kirkland where Skynets ground centre relay network was based. The surge fried circuit brakers plunging the facility into darkness, emergency generators would last for around six hours before the massive power requirements would diminish the fuel. Skynet sensing this started to look for alternative power sources but failed, assuming the stance that an electro-magnetic pulse attack had been co-ordinated on the base and went into lock down mode.

Lock down mode was iniated by Skynets smaller sub-computer systems releasing 'Hunter-Killer' UAV drones which sole purpose in the event was to kill any humanoid heat generating objects, unfortunalty engineers trying to restore backup power were met by these drones and died some of the most savage deaths as the machines engaged on full auto their armenants of chain guns and short range machine grenades. As one of the enginers tried to run away he managed to send out an emergency request for assistance to the security forces at the gate post who had been locked out.

Assuming the attack Skynet began searching for its possible objective, it assumed by some error that The World Soviet Party had launched the attack and to the horror of missile commanders Skynet began deploying Clandonian nuclear forces to be used. The order was dispatched to the government that the Corporations system of Skynet had malfunctioned and that it had begun targetting TWSP...

OOC: No particular reason, its just in Skynets attack plan programes, designed to attack a multitude of countries it appears that Skynet has accessed the ACTO Strategical War Plans, this is only the Corporations nukes and nasty things which the government knows they should'nt have but it would be bad for business and the free market if they actually stopped them. :P I don't think the attack will go ahead anyway, I'm sure right now in Clandonia Prime they would be thinking how to stop this machine.

We would like to stress that we are working on a solution as Skynet had not begun commencing count down, she has only begun preparations. I have just contacted the Clandonian government about this and they are powerless as its against government policy to intervene with business. However, they have begun precautions to ensure Skynet's bug dosn't flow into the main military system which is could be rather worse.

ooc: TWSP, given what Clandonia said about this whole buisness on the GASN forums ("did it out of sheer boredom", as I recall, were your exact words, C.P.), I hereby suggest you ignore this whole thing, on the basis of a certain someone doing this for ooc reasons..(boredom is not a legitimate excuse for starting a war)

As the Corporations team of scientists and enginers rushed to work out how to stop the tyanical super computer that they had created, efforts were being made to try and bring Skynets warhead centres offline so that no more missiles could be loaded with live warheads. It had been succesful and that there were only around 2000 4 MT warheads in possesion under Skynets system showing that some of the security principles to stop it had workerd.

The latest plan was to assualt its memory banks in an effort to wipe out the possible programe or change them in some way so the missiles landed in the water or burnt up in the atmosphere. As an assembled force of 200 Clandonian Corporation XY Special Forces prepared to engage the creations and defences of Skynet. Faced against laser turrets, chain guns and robotic enemies they would face heavy casualties. The plan, blow the core with a low yeild EMP device while enginers worked out how to cut the power to Skynets central core at Danskeran.

Should any nation, for any reason, use nuclear or any conventional weaponry against our trusted red brothers of WSP, would Madnestan immediately reply with all of the military might it holds. No matter what the excuse would be. To be honest, we don't believe the wild story about PC program attacking, instead of the nation behind it. This is just a load of lies, created in attempt to prevent WSP and its comrades in UCN of responding to their full scale nuclear attack.
Should it be, against all intellect, even somehow possible and true, I hope that the knowledge concerning the result of Clandonian missiles hitting WSP's sovereign soil will increase the enthusiaism of Clandonias in their attempt to prevent the attack before it happens.

As even if this isn't ignored, things will not go well...

Because chances are I'll get involved shortly after those nukes hit terra firma...

The government was not pleased at the Corporation, as the news of various nasty governments sending threatening messages they finally told the Corporation to clean its act up or they could would be kicked out of the country.

As this order was seen, a small yeild EMP device exploded in Skynet's data banks after an intense fight between Corporation security forces and the robotic warriors created to defend Skynet. Almost instantly Skynet knew and got very angry, as the power was cut at its main CPU housing the AI was knocked out if not culled. As the various Corporation systems weapons went into standby mode loosing their co-ordinates as the host ground uplink was lost. TWSP was safe, as was the Corporation assets however the board of directors might be slightly anoyed at the damage done to the multi-trillion dollar Skynet which would need some serious repairs and upgrades to ensure that it didn't malfunction in such a catrostrophic way again.
