Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu stood triumphantly over the 100,000+ person crowd at Independence Hall in Tel Aviv.
The Likud Party had swept back into power after defeating the leftist Labor and the center-left Kadima parties in an historic election. Angered over recent events, the people of Israel had overwhelmingly elected the Likud Party into the Knesset.
It took Bibi a couple of minutes to wait for the applause to die down before he made his speech.
"Shalom. The election results are in and the people have spoken. With all of the Knesset seats now assigned, Likud now has 79 seats of the 120 seats in the Knesset. It is now clear that we have a mandate to restore Israel to her status as a marvel for all in the world to behold.
It is clear that Israel must implement economic reforms to recover from what 2 decades of Socialist Labor Party rule have done to our great nation. Our economy is in ruins with double digit unemployment and high inflation. Socialism has once again failed a nation of the world and the Israeli people have decided to end this Marxist experiment.
Our economy must move to the right. My first action as your new Prime Minister will be to lower all income taxes to a flat rate of 17.5%. The anti-entepeneurial laws will be repealed by my government. We will lessen environmental restrictions that have hurt our ability to compete. We will revolutionize our industries and make Israel the cornerstone of technological research and development. Israel will once again be the crossroads of the world."
The crowd erupted in applause
"Our military has been descimated by our government's refusal to protect Israel from foreign aggression. Egypt has retaken the Sinai Penninsula in our most recent war. Fedayeen have been crossing the borders and destroying our villages. The Labor Coalition had refused to act for years. It is time for Israel to rebuild its military and show the world we are strong. It is our time as Jews to stand up against those who seek our destruction!!!"
As the speech ended, the large crowd in Tel Aviv began to sing "Hatikvah"
