Introduction:

As Russian Communist Republic fell apart and few of its former officials picked up the pieces its new military found itself in need of mobile radar unit that would complement the already developed SIVS (Strategicheskaya Integrirovanaya Voyenaya Systema; Strategic Integrated Military System). With the new nation struggling to survive while still sitting on the cash and benefits of the departed Federation the funding for the most promising project the MRA-5 GRIB came soon and in a large quantity. Now MRA-5 GRIB is preparing to enter service with the new Russian Directorate.

Electronics:

MRA-5 GRIB features a highly sophisticated electronics suit which is centered around the 3-D VHF (Very High Frequency) circular antenna that for a system this size has an astounding range and ability to detect even aircraft with stealth capabilities. All of the information received by the unit is automatically transferred to the SIVS database and is immediately accessible by any operative in the field. That being the case and to cut down on costs MRA-5s on board processing unit is only designed to send the raw information to the SIVS HQs however since the supercomputers at SIVS analyze the info so fast it is instantly available to the crew via their own SIVS interface worked into the cockpit.

Chassis:

The radar system is planted on a very versatile MMA-2 multipurpose military vehicle. Because of this MRA-5 is able to go through most any obstacle including water, wooded areas and steep curves.

Armor/Protection:

Being designed as a non-direct combat unit MRA-5 does not have much protection against conventional weapons, the 20 mm titanium alloy reinforced with Kevlar ceramics will stop most small arms and assault rifle rounds but won't do much to protect against say an artillery or a tank shell. However MRA-5 is EMP hardened in an event the enemy will decide to attempt to weaken the Directorate’s information network.

Cost: 40000 USD per unit

Availability: Reserved for Directorate’s Armed Forces only until further notice.
