The Hunger In The Void (FT Interest)

OOC: I have been on Nationstates a long time, and played other nations; I haven't used this nation in any real RP's, though, and I'd like to start. So, some info on my nation.
I plan to RP as a race of machines, ruling over organic slaves, that act as a sort of interstellar swarm of locusts. They generally descend on a planet, plunder it (often leaving it totally lifeless and devoid of materials) and then leave. (I found out later that this resembles the behavior of two races from 40K, the Necrons and Tyranids. If you've played the game, this may help you relate to the Machines.) In some cases, where they have time to stay, they may 'plug in' to stars, siphoning off their energy and eventually burning them out. Many of the Machines live only on starships, never staying for long planetside. They are ruled by a sort of technological god, the first sentient computer, known as the Grand Machine. Hence my name. The Machines function to conquer and to dominate, and do so with all the precision of constructs.
I'm looking to learn how to RP future tech. Is there anyone out there that would RP a war with me?

OOC: I would. It'd be an FT first for me though, but I've got a good grasp on the other techs, so it would be easy to learn.

OOC: Awesome. I'd love to have you.
Bump.
While others find their way to this thread, British Londinium, do you have any thoughts on how you'd RP as a FT nation? Just curious. I'll need to find out anyway so we can plan the actual RP.

Let's get it started!:mp5:
Your nation sounds interesting, and very much like what a possible fusion between the Necron/'Nids with a dash of Adeptus Mechanicus thrown in.

Hey sure, why not?
The organic swarm (Goblin power!) against the mechanical? How could I possibly turn down such an opportunity for a comeback rp.
Drop me a TG with details etc.
I've mostly done FT RPs with my various nations, but should warn you - the CGC tend to be a bit unreliable.

((OC- An interesting concept to rp with. I'll keep a tagged on on this one. =^^= Been rping FT for nearly two years now, so I wouldn't mind entering at all. ))

Tag for an interesting idea.
Consider me on board if you start.I'll probably roleplay as a neutral inorganic silicon-based species that doesn't really concern itself with the universe at large and bases much of its philosophies on abstract mathematics.
I'll be taking much of my technology to play from D20 Cyberscape and D20 Futuretech books and orionsarm.com as well as outpostterra.com

Actually sorta reminds me of the "Independence Day" aliens, but overall seems a very cool and potential-winning idea.
I'd love to RP with whatever could arise from this, seeing as there haven't really been any good RPs to arise for a while on these boards.

OOC: With the holidays coming up, I'm sure most of us will have lots of time for writing, so I'm expecting to start the IC thread in a few days or so. Unless anyone has any objections, the Machines will be taking the offensive initially (as in, they'll attack you all for no good reason at all). As for technology, the Machines use energy weapons, shields, hyperdrives, etc., which means that if any of you use super-advanced races (every ground troop can teleport, ships can blast apart a planet with one shot, that kind of thing) you'll have to handicap yourselves somewhat so that it's a fairly even fight. The only two science fiction worlds I'm familiar with are the Star Wars and 40K universes, so I'll be using those as guidelines to technology and warfare.
And it's great to see all the interest, looks like this will be a great RP. Newbish Delight, TG on the way.
