Nervous Norman, was, well, nervous. Hence the name. He had transmitted an offer to sell out New Aeson for a ton of cash and guarenteed amnesty some hours ago. The Undershi surely would have recieved it by now. Now all that remained was for them to reach this no-man's land- an island just outside of New Aesonic territorial waters, home of a jungle of high-rise luxury apartments, and seedy crack houses, brothels and bars.
It was in this latest that Norman waited, one hand on the mug of beer he was just finishing, the other clutched protectively around the suitcase that would either make him or kill him. The only problem with his plan was that New Aeson made no pretensions about tapping phones. He had encrypted his message, but that was only civilian encryption, and not top of the line either. So, Undershi would have recieved his message by now, but New Aeson would have cracked it.

Indeed, the noose was already closing around Norman. In addition to ten Purifiers who had slipped into the city about an hour ago, there were numerous unenhanced agents closing in on the bar. The only reason Norman wasn't dead yet, is because Military Governor Blak was interested in knowing exactly whom Norman was trying to defect to. So now it was a waiting game.

The briefing had been clear, Mikial Sundiata thought as he waited in the back of the truck's cargo container. They needed to retrieve that scientist...
That was why the IIS had been sent.
One squad, ten men... with some dozen specialist Jannissaries for help. Of course, True Undershis could hardly walk openly in the street... so they were riding in the cargo container of a truck, waiting to get near enough to do the smash-and-grab they had planned...
Meanwhile, a normal human Undershi agent walked into the bar as cassually as could be, armed only with a communications implant and a small sidearm...

"Sir, we just had an unidentified person enter the bar, over." Samantha was the spotter for the team, sitting in a hotel room across the street with a pair of high-tech binoculars.
"Affirmative. Unenhanced?" Mark was the leader of the unenhanced humans, speaking over the radio. Well, sub-vocalising, as he was sitting on a park bench nearby, and didn't want to be spotted talking to himself. But the radio picked it up pretty handily.
"Not visibly, sir. Over." Replied Samantha. Every door was covered, including the trapdoor that led to a small system of bunkers and tunnels beneath the city. It was still a waiting game, and that wasn't even the first unidentified to enter the bar.

Nervous Norman glanced up, and went back to nursing his beer, not particularly recognizing the man whom had walked in.

A cargo truck parked across the street, as the drivers got out and went into a restaurant...
Meanwhile, the Agent in the bar walked over and sat down next to Nervous Norman. He ordered a beer, and drank it down in one gulp before turning to the traitor and saying:
"If you want to live, I'd suggest running across the street to that truck... right now." he said that in a whisper, then drew his pistol and started shooting, firing the big heavy semi-automatic while screaming about blood and demons and salvation through destruction... he seemed to have suddenly gone beserk.
Meanwhile, the two drivers had returned to their truck, and had its engine going... like they were waiting for something...

"Gunfire in the bar, over."
"Roger. Hold position until Norman appears."
"He's running out! He's headed towards a cargo truck!"
"Acknowldged. Closing escape routes."
A huge flatbed truck pulled out into the intersection directly in front of the Undershi truck, and stopped short. Behind it, at the previous intersection, two much smaller cars collided, blocking that exit as well. The only way left, without going through a building, was a small alleyway, too small for the truck.

The IIS Storm Troopers were using their infared visors - they could see through the side of the truck. As soon as the flatbed moved in the way, they opened fire - thirty carefully aimed Gauss shots struck the truck, fired by five of the IIS Storm Troopers while the other five jumped out. Once they were on the ground, they were opening fire themselves, their Gauss rifles set to full auto, indescriminantly shooting anyone other than the man they were there for as they cleared a relatively safe area for him.
Meanwhile, the Sergeant had radioed the situation to the Undershi cruiser squadron waiting just in international waters, and it had dispatched two things - one, a small landing craft to a designated evac site nearby, two, a pair of Crusader VTOL gunships, meant to keep things busy...

"Sir, we have a positive identification. They're Undershi. They're shooting up the whole area."
"Roger that. We have also confirmed to inbound hostile gunships. Things are getting hot here."
"Shall I take off my clothes, sir?" Asked Samantha, setting down the binoculars and picking up a sniper rifle as the ISS continued to wreak havoc below.
Mark sounded like he was choking for a moment, and then finally managed, "Just take the shot."
Samantha grinned and raised the sniper rifle. The ammunition was armor piercing, designed specifically to punch through Capitol Police armor, of all things. She calmly lined up Norman's left foot, all that was visible, thanks to the ISS doing their best to protect him. The sniper rifle was also silenced, and the muzzle flash had been suppressed.

Norman howled in pain as his foot was blown off of his leg. Predictably, right after howling in pain he fell to the ground.

The norm went down, a bullet through his leg... the next instant, one of the IIS men fired off a full five grenade magazine from his rifle's underslung grenade launcher directly at the site that his helmet computer had told him the shot had come from.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Five grenades, all sent straight at the target...
Then the sergeat was shouting for one of the men to carry the downed norm - one did, throwing him over his shoulders in a fireman's carry, screaming a battlecry into his helmet radio as he continued firing his rifle one handed...
The norm soldiers were opening up too, their light Gauss-autos sending streams of high-powered fire every which way...
Meanwhile, the special weapons were being tossed down from the truck as they made ready to abandon it...

Samantha reacted with speed born of long training. As soon as the Undershi began raising his weapon towards her location, she leapt backwards from the window. She had propped her door ajar specifically for a swift exit, and ran towards it. As the first grenade hit the wall beneath the window and exploded, a large shard of glass caught Samantha in her leg. She swore but managed to push open the door, as the second grenade went off, burning her severely, while the concussive force hurled her forward and into the door opposite her own. The third grenade went through the now open door, as Samantha dove again, hurling her a couple of yards down the hallway, and putting another piece of shrapnel in her bad leg. However, it also had the effect of putting her out of range of the fourth and fifth grenades.
Samantha tried to stand, but was unable to, due to her bad leg. The hotel was abandoned (due for demolition in another week) so she couldn't expect any aid. She crawled until her back was against the wall at the end of the hall, and picked up her radio.
"Regret to inform, sir, that I was unable to eliminate the target. Currently disabled near Location Alpha-Three. Enemy appears to be aware of my presence. Over and out." She set down the radio, and drew two pistols, one of which she placed to her temple, and the other of which she aimed down the hallway at the stairs.

Mark swore. Things were progressing worse than he had thought, and Samantha, for all intents and purposes, was royally screwed. However, the Undershi still had to get Norman to whatever their extraction point was. There were no suitable helicopter landing zones nearby, and Samantha hadn't been the only sniper, merely the only one in the immediate area. Now they had to wait for the Undershi to stop shooting up a by now empty street, and actually start moving.

The Undershi were deploying heavy weapons - what looked like a pair of AA/AT rocket launchers. Once those were out and ready, the movement began. They were going overland on foot, not pausing for niceness... they looked ready to shoot anything that moved. And they did - any civilians unfortunate enough to get anywhere near in their way died suddenly, shot before the Undershis took the time to ask questions.
While they did that, they ran, ran down the streets in formation, heading towards the docks. The Undershis in their power-armour were easily making twenty miles per hour without breaking a sweat. Fast, for men on foot...
OOC: Since there no longer exists a real reason for us to be hostile towards eachother, do you want to call off this RP? (I can see it now: "RP Called on Account of Peace"...)

OOC: Check your TGs recently? Well, it's up to you, really. After all, I don't have anybody on this island to withdraw. I mean, it's not like I'm trying to assasinate a Aesonic government employee on his vacation or anything. If your guys drop Norman in the street, my guys will probably let them go.
IC: Three snipers were along the street, in various buildings. All of them opened fire at the same time, aiming for the heads of various agents. Without pausing to see if they had hit, each moved to the next agent. A total of six bullets were fired at five Undershi, before the sniper posts were abandoned, the men and woman heading towards the exits in an attempt to avoid whatever Undershi retribution was certain to be forthcoming.

The first incoming shots were noted by the Undershis helmet computers before they hit. Retaliation was swift - grenades, volley after volley of them... one of the True Undershis was down, shot through the head. They left him where he lay, after opening a little box on his armour and pulling a tab that would melt the body and the inner workings of the armour.
As they continued, they began to randomly fire their weapons into windows, seemingly out of desperation...
OOC: Undershi wouldn't abandon a defector. Other than that, I can't see much of a reason to have the fighting continue. How about you have someone shoot Norman, and then my guys run away?
