The people of Santa Cruz, Bolivia have risen against the government of Bolivia's president, the Socialist Evo Morales, and have declared their independence against his government. "We have had enough of the policies and decisions placed upon us by this incompetent clown and his cronies " declared one Santa Cruceno (One who is a native of Santa Cruz).
The local citizenry of what used to be Bolivia's largest department have decided to call their new nation La Sierra and the city of Santa Cruz will be the capital of their new homeland.
The new nation, whose formal name is Santa Cruz de La Sierra, is a vast land of that is mostly composed of rainforests, extending from the Andes to the border with Brazil. The nation's economy depends mainly on agriculture, with sugar, cotton, soybeans and rice being grown. In the last few years, the discovery of natural gas in La Sierra has led to plans for the possible development of a regional natural gas industry that would help the local economy. La Sierra also hosts El Mutún, the second largest iron ore reserve (after Carajás in Brazil) in the world along with the largest magnesium reseves on the planet.
