MESSAGE BROADCASTED THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE

Join The League of Free Worlds!
The League of Free Worlds is an alliance based on equality. No matter how small your nation is, you will recieve just as much help as a 5 billion state. Our hope is to forge a strong alliance that will help small nations as well as big ones. Wether you are a routined forum RPer or a new nation, you are more than welcome to join our alliance, and help in the creation of a safer tomorrow.
We do not require constant activity from your side, though we like active nations. Once you are a member you will be contacted in case your assistance is needed, or in case another member decides to sell military ships/weapons at a cheaper price to member states. Last but not least, we wish to stress the following fact: The League of Free Worlds is entirely based upon deffensive ideals, thus we will not help you in any aggressive moves against another nation, unless these moves are justified.

This League was founded by and consists of:

Asfaltum
Communistic Govts
Crazed Marines

We hope that you will join us, and thus bring some more equilibrium to the universe.

Sincerely
Asfaltum

To The League of Free Worlds,
We wish to join the League of Free Worlds. Normally we are strong isolationists, but as a defensive grouping bent on noncoercion we will join. We are willing to offer small "astronomical" monitoring stations for solar systems to check incoming and outgoing space traffic, warp signatures, gravitic anomalies, signs of opening wormholes. These are mixed use stations, part of their use is to do astronomical research.

Regards,

Strategos Sharp

Subject: The League of Free Worlds

While we do not normally consider engaging in alliances other than one on one treaties with specific nations of our chosing and respect, we do see that if the prospects of this version were to hold true to tennants, then mutual benefit would be seen for all aspects of this unhewn gem, ready to be faceted for the first time.

We ask that a meeting be held at the homeworld of the author of this concept, with all agreeing parties as per possible to discuss the merits and 'understandings' that would be entailed, if we were to join in this conglomeration.

We do offer a vast territory ripe for fruitful endeavors, two thirds recently liberated from Dark Eternal control, over two thousand galaxies worth of untapped potential for those that wish to assist our endeavors. To begin describing our technological benefits would make many a mind consider us folly. The Dark Eternals however, a mutual long time enemy of our Eternal Empire allies, see otherwise. Know that we are currently conducting War upon the remainder of the Dark Eternal forces in a vengance campaign, but would 'not' ask of any signatory to assist in combat operations.

Most left is better held for discussion, again at the signatory capital world of the authors. Travel distance would most likely be shorter for the majority anyway.

We await response prior to chosing our diplomatic corps.

Interested Regards,

Lady Seto Kamiki
Gaian Prime Foreign Advisor

"Why?"

"Why not?"

"Good point. Send a reply."

GruntsandElites would be happy to join the League of Free Nations. I don't know why you asked us, we couldn't exactly be called "free". Anyway, we would be happy to contribute forces when we have resloved the situation we are currently in.

The Intergalactic Armed Kingdom of Asfaltum has noted your reply Gaian Ascendancy, and agrees to your suggestion of further diplomatic talks. We would therefore be delighted if you could send us an envoy, and thus also meet the other members of the alliance.

To all others: We appreciate your joining, and would be delighted if you could send an envoy to our home-world.

Asfaltum:

A message is sent via Bell Quantum Tunneling Ansible.
This is Strategos Sharp, I will be joining you on your homeworld shortly. I am arriving via our new capital ship the Medusa.

A massive 1800 meter ship is seen entering your system. It is clearly heavily armed, a massive black cylinder with various protuberances, weapons banks, and fighter bays. Gravity seems to distort around the ship and sensors go haywire when pointed at it. At the edge of your system, it launches a shuttle which flies to your planet. A message is sent, "This is the Commonalitarianism capital ship, Medusa. We are launching a shuttle with Strategos Sharp."

The shuttle flies quickly toward your planet landing at the expected destination. A tall thin human steps out of the ship followed by a variety of attaches and bodyguards, a couple of robots, a few other humans, and a few humanoid neodogs. Strategos Sharp is in a blue uniform with silver tortoises on the collar tabs. He looks to be in his early 50s with silvering hair, his eyes are a startling violet color.

Sensors go haywire when pointed at it, at first. After a couple of automatic reajustments things go fine...:)

Strategos Sharp is met by a group of five envoys from the Asfaltic Kingdom. "Welcome to our homeworld. We hope that you will enjoy your stay, please follow us to the conference room that has been prepared, we are awaiting the other envoys and when everybody has arrived we will commence the talks." the leader of the group says. The group consists of two men in brown robes (they are Counselors... the Asfaltic version of Jedi warriors), and two men in blue-and-gray uniforms with red "badges". The leader is dressed in dark green robes, and leads Strategos Sharp into a nearby building. Although the members of the welcome group are seemingly unarmed, the two groups are surrounded by heavily armed battle-droids and troopers (Asfaltic soldiers), and all traffic is stopped around and above the building.

Strategos Sharp, bows slightly, "Thank you for inviting me, I look forward with pleasure to our negotiations." He follows the counselors to the table. He stops and gets a glass of water before he sits down. The neodogs sniff the air carefully, look around, and listen for the slightest whine of machinery their hearing much more accute than human normal. One of the robots hands a datapad to Strategos Sharp. Another of the robots pulls out a chair for the strategos to sit down.

About a day after the last message was recieved, a single Second Generation BattleCruiser-Class Tar`tat`nir Treeship suddenly Folds just outside the gravity envelope of the Asfaltum homeworld in simple enough fashion.

A simple message...

:: ~ This is the Sphere diplomatic team sent to commence with talks concerning the alliance proposal. Lady Alusair and Lady Ayeka, Lady Sistera Excellenca and Council Advisor of Core Republic Administration respectively.

Please send destination data at convenience. ~ ::

"Why did I get dragged out here again?"

Lady Alusair just looked at Ayeka. "You haven't gotten any reading time here lately. Besides, thought you'd like to see the field for once."

Lady Ayeka just giggles. "Well, as long as my Tenchi isn't completely accosted to that demon."

Alusair just looks at her as the Asfaltum home planet begins to dominate the Treeship viewport panes. "You still call her that after two hundred years of mutual marriage with that guy?"

Ayeka just shrugs. "Old habit, Ryoko still isn't the most sharing of creatures."

Alusair just laughs.

A rift forms in space. Blackness becomes nothingness.

Out of the rent, moving at some 87% of lightspeed and slowing down at a constant 20Gs, comes the 270km long bulk of the ASF Victory, an Ultra-class Star Destroyer.

"Comms up," declares the C3 Officer, "screen ready aye."
"Greetings," begins Captain-Elect Marquand, "We, the Atopian federation, wish to join your League of Free Worlds. Our Skgorrian allies in the Empire of Brzno will shortly be along as well - if we are in, they are in, or we're out."

Three ships appear in system. They fan out. Each ship is painted different colors, has a different style. One is red and gold, one is black and green, and the other is blue and white.

The glide in system, effortessly. None of them seem to have any engines whatsoever, but they still move. Thoughts would appear in the heads of those who looked at one.

The red and gold one:
Savagry beyond comprehension

The black and green one:
Pain beyond imagination

The blue and white one:
Light beyond words

These were Planeswalker Dreadnoughts. They were reserved for the most powerful Planeswalkers. The Imperial Council. They are the most powerful Planeswalkers to every appear in this universe. They call this universe Dominaria.

The black and green one, which seemed more shadow than ship, moved forward. We, the envoy of GruntsandElites, have arrived to help establish a treaty for the so called "League of Free Nations". We would like entrance to your world, so that we may land our ships. Thank you, please reply promptly.

Comms officer Janet sat back in her chair. "This is going to be a long day." she thought to herself. "Captain, instead of sending individual messages to all of these ships, why not send just one message with docking coordinates and greeting message?"she asked the captain, pleading. The captain paused to think. "Well, you got a point. Go ahead..." Janet grinned from ear to ear from thankfullness.

Greetings all foreign ships!
We welcome you to Asfaltum and are hereby sending you docking coordinates. Please deactive any form of shielding when you approach our cities, this is standard proceedure.

Together with the message, docking coordinates were sent. When the ships eventually landed, the ambassadors would be met by Asfaltic envoys, who would lead them to the conference-room.

OOC: just describe your envoys docking, and their arrival to the conference-room. That way everybody is present, and we can start negotiations. (the room is very big, furnished with wood and gold, and surrounded by heavily armed guards.)

There was only one man capable of handling a diplomatic venue of this magnitude and that one man was Teal Clint the highest ranking human within the Abh Empire. He had aspired from his rebellious days on Martine where the former baron was assasinated and he took control for a time. That was until Star Forces returned and took names, bringing the Hyde System back under control and into the hands of the dead baron's son, Jinto Lynn.

Being aquited of all charges dealing with the assasination, Teal was able to his wife and begin his new life. With a newfound respect for the Abh, Teal began his ascent through the proper political channels and moved away from Martine and into the orbiting capitol of Lakfakallae. Ever surrounded by the Abh, he emersed himself in their customs and beliefs until his total mental prospect was revamped. Now he was a picture perfect lander loyalist to the Jade Throne that was currently occupied by Emperor Debeusec of the Clyuve royal family.

Fitted with the double winged green tiara of the Prime Minister, Teal boarded the royal liner that was bound for Asfaltum. Escorted by four Roil-class attack vessels, they made their way silently through Hyperspace until exiting the other end of the spectrum where they were informed to dock at a disclosed location. Teal walked through the halls and such, only mildly paying attention to his surroundings until he was shown into the conference room. Typical military greetings would have required a salute for a first meeting of any type. Being a civilian, Teal greeted the others in the conference room by bowing politely. "I am Prime Minister Teal Clint of the Abh Empire. A pleasure to meet you all."

Wing Commander Petersen steered his TIE Defender into a hangar bay with ease.
Docking manoeuvers are a piece of schtolen compared to Verdunian pirates he thought as his craft came to rest with a gentle bump. He removed his breathing apparatus and stored it in a side-locker, then undid his seat restraint and undid the top hatch on his fighter. Hoisting himself up, he saw that the ground crew had not provided him with a ladder. Sighing, he removed his flight gloves and jumped off the fighter, attempting to roll but only to hit a storage bin.
"Drokk it!" he cursed, lying on the ground and nursing a wounded back. A fantastic way to make an impression he considered as he rubbed his back, making sure he wasn't bleeding. Not feeling any blood, he stood up and removed his helmet then followed an official of some sort to the Conference Room. Petersen walked in and saw that there were many officials here, but he could not see his Brznovian allies. He spoke a simple greeting of
"hello."

This is the list of nations that are part of the League of Free Worlds:

The Aplocalyptic Land of Crazed Marines
The Imperial Union of Communistic Govts
The Intergalactic Armed Kingdom of Asfaltum
The Empire of The Humankind Abh
The Socialist Commonwealth of Wanderjar
The United Arcologies of Commonalitarianism
The Imperium of GruntsandElites
The Empire of British Londinium
The Federal Union
The Kingdom of Mythrandir
The National Socialist State of Skgorria
Atopiana
The Republic of Angels World
The Dimensonal Grand Republica of Gaian Ascendancy

Nations which might be part of the League in the future:

The Empire of Balrogga
The Holy Armies of Neoma

Nations which are stated to be part of the League are not obligated to send an ambassador.

Nations which might be part of the League in the future, are welcome to send an ambassador (except Balrogga, with which I'm dealing on a separate (first enoucter) thread).

In the case of Skgorria and Atopiana, which are nations based on nazi and anarchic ideals, I thought as follows: Since all the nations of the League might have to defend these ideals with the blood of their own citizens, and since some nations might not agree with these ideals, it would be only fair to vote on the matter.
You (the members) will vote on this matter by TGing me your votes. Your votes will be anonimous, I will only disclose the result, and I will disclose the correct result no matter what it may be.

The voting-question is simple: Should Skgorria and Atopiana be allowed to join The League of Free Worlds?

You can vote Yes, No or Blank.

"So glad to see we have someone who studies ancient political science amongst us," he says with a smile before continuing. "Our ideology is based on that of the National Socialist movement of Hitler and Germany in the years before the Second World War. We seek to keep the Skgorrian race and culture pure and untainted, but unlike Hitler, we do not seek to exterminate or cleanse outside of our culture except when permitted. It is up to the strong everywhere to rise up and shatter their bonds without outside help." Petersen pauses for a moment to let his words sink in, then continues.

Ladies Alusair and Ayeka arrived, as per orders, with shields down. The two also arrived in session not too long after, and were somewhat reserved with about any formal comment at present, taking the orders of Lady Seto rather hard core.

Listen before imparting anything..

The current debate concerning Skgorria and Atopiana however gave the two pause. They knew about as much history of the fascisim ideal as anyone, after the long years in contact with the now lost Neo Zetan Empire. Hiei, Albeido, Sensui, Blue Cosmos and other such gave the old Ascendancy Republic more experience with such a goverment than was comfortable. The battles with NZ forces were brutal affairs.

Ayeka leaned over to Alusair and whispered. "Do we want to ally with those we know hold ideas radically different than our own."

"Trust first, distrust after it is earned, if forced."

"Proper point."

Alusair looked at the Padd of the Sphere data on the signatories, and knew some good realms were a part.

"We have no open objection to the current matter." Alusair put, suddenly speaking out. "We should note it is highly unusual for us to consider joining any formal alliance where multiple nations are concerned in the same vein.

We've noted the history of many alliances that ended up fracus wars of stupidity, ones that held us off at a distance. This particular version we 'will' hold in judgement, to the original ideal that this is a defensive alliance alone. In no matter will we become, as the term we heard of, as of late, 'meat-shields', to any other cause. If this alliance stays true to being a 'true' defensive alliance, where another nation is formally attacked without provocation, including no diplomatic aversion prior, then we will find merit in our inclusion of this formality."

Alusair cleared her throat before continuing. "We include ourselves in this, and we will not ask for direct aid of any formal kind for our own part in wars we conduct. As such, know that we are currently in formal war against an old enemy, of the Dark Eternals, being conducted across much of the Inner Alpha Universe. The war is in late stages, half of the enemy has been defeated and is currently being isolated over a six Intergalactic Supercluster area of space.

Our only real concern of help at the moment, is humanitarian aid for our new charges in our recent acquisitions in two new Superclusters adjacent to our own. Columbia and Corseria, Universal Left of the Archonis Supercluster, our home space. Our resources are actually taxed over the immediate short term to help where many souls are in serious duress. The Dark Eternals were able to strip many worlds of resources, where mainly food and basic shelter is concerned.

While we are pushing for as much aid as possible by our own merit as it comes available, even rationing many Core worlds of certain commodities to accomplish this, what we need is this. A one year commitment for outside aid for certain corners of both SCs that are getting the least help, again due to our taxed resources.

We need one year of help, while we continue to move populations to more supportable worlds, extend our Gate networks across our new territory, and emplace the proper medical, fabrication, replication, and personnel resources, to begin solidifying our anchor of normal abilities in the new territories. As much as it pains us to ask for any help where many are concerned with other matters, we offer compensation from many of our aspects to this alliance and it's members."

Ayeka finally steps in, giving Alusair a beather. "His Excellency has authorized for any member willing to help our need of aid, technologies that have essentially made a mutli-intergalactic supercluster empire possible. Latest models of fold drive technology, Gate networks operated in concert with local operators of each participating nation, and our extended Guaridanship influence where military defense and diplomatic options are concerned. Fully automated droid fleets and troop armies, knowledge of our commerce networks, even access to celestial technology and the Genetic-refabrication units, where even death and old age have no place in our commonplace minds.

As of a need to profess and even proliferate the expectation that this alliance is defensive in nature, we will, with permission, act as formal backup signatories where the need of trust is required by an outside party in conflict with one of our own nations. It is hoped that we can help settle all situations peacefully, or at the very least, aid with enough power from the onset to end battle as severely and quickly as possible, with long term peace settled afterwards.

As long as the tennants of this alliance are upheld, we will remain faithful. The need for aid would be even better, but as with all our other needs, all such is optional. Our model is not to force anything, except hearing our words. The rest is yours to decide."

Ayeka sat back down, taking a good breath. Alusair just giggled. "Bluster is hard work no?"

Prime Minister Teal had been sitting in on the proceedings for quite some time now without much to say. Nothing really seemed to pertain to him or the Abh Empire for that matter, that was until now. "The Abh Empire has always had good relations with the Ascendancy since after the end of the United Mankind wars. Our help comes without even asking, whether or not compensation was involved. We two are effected by war at this time but we will do whatever we can for the people to make their lives slightly more tolerable. "Mr Petersen we all have ghosts in our closets so to speak. So long as we advance and change, there is room for amicable but neutral relations. We are after all seeking a defensive alliance." Strategos Sharp points at one of the droids and it taps something into a datapad.

"We are currently at peace seeking to expand our scientific capabilities, technical adaptness, trade relations and defensive capabilities. We are looking for maps of safe territory to expand into. We believe a defensive alliance may help us better map clear borders around our territory." Strategos Sharp takes a sip of water from his glass.

Alusair listened to Mr. Petersen and Prime Minister Teal then offered. "We can offer, though it might not fully help depending, latest cartography maps from our Comm-Orb network of about ninety-two percent of the Milky Way Core Galaxy, MWCG as we shorthand term it.

For the esteemed Ahb representative, we can offer to help where and what we can with your conflict problem, in return for access to the large swaths of Intergalactic Space in our realm. We do need man and droid power to help survey and catalog the new worlds in the realms we acquired, resources found can be shared easily as we offered. At least I believe it's been offered."

"Call it retroactive with previous agreements." Ayeka offered.

"Can do." Alusair chippered back.

Ambassador Hans Down liked what he was hearing: "Asfaltum has always been a nation who takes care of individuals in need, and I am glad to hear that you pursue the same goal as us. We will gladly assist you in your struggle. As for compensation, well, the Asfaltum Kingdom may be small, but we have always been more concerned with quality than numbers. Our technology is quite advanced, if I may say so, and our military force is superb when it comes to training, equipment and moral. Nonetheless, there is something that we would appreciate; moons. If you have access to moons, we would be willing to purchase them for a price, in order to build research bases and factories. Also, we would like to purchase factories and ship-building and research facilities wherever else there is the possibility." Hans paused. "As for our aid, we will do all our possible to be of assistance, and will do so as soon as we have coordinated operations together with your officials."

OOC: I don't need to RP the help that I will send, just take for granted that the rebuilding of your territory is accelerating by circa 15-20%...:)

It was not long until the Chief Officers of The Garbage Men had heard about the existance of the Free Worlds, the discussion was short as the decision was obvious. Subject: Application to The League of Free Worlds

To Whom it may concern;

It has come to our attention about the existance of The League of Free Worlds and in fact we would like to gain acceptance into the League.

First, a bit about us. The Garbage Men is an extra-national corporation dedicated to the providing of Sanitation and related services to national entities and individuals alike we already have a commercial arrangement with the people of Commonalitarianism and wish to set up Depots in all member nations.

A Depot, is the TGM equivalent of an Embassy, in addition to the political aspect, it also provides facilities to act as a temporary storage and sorting operations in addition to providing more of our advanced options. Every Depot is kept to the strictest of safety conditions with all forms of wastte from mixed general, recyclable, to various kinds of toxic and hazardous waste, we guarantee no ecological impact from the facility apart from the impact of the actual building process. The construction will conform to all local building codes and will aesthetically designed to make it visually appealing and appropriate.

A national manager, akin to the more standard Ambassador will be sent once facilities for the Depot have been constructed. We thank you for your consideration.

The Ganoxan representative Juvy Testarova was among the other representatives in the Grand Conference room of the Asfaltums. She was a young woman probably in her 20s, ash blond hair with pale skin, but was very educated in diplomacy and other fields. She had served in a mercenary organization of whom had fought the Cyverons in the devastating war that shook their planet 2 decades ago when she was very young. Her parents were killed in the ensuing battle in the small town first attacked be them. She was taken in by the founder of the organization and raised in terms of diplomacy, command ability, survival, military training and various other subjects. She was considered a child prodigy amongst the Ganoxa High Command and was chosen to represent the planet in the League of Free Worlds.

She rose up and spoke to the other representatives.

"The Ganoxan Alliance cannot give its support in the rebuilding of the Gaien Ascendency as we are rebuilding ourselves after a 10 year world war and devastating attack by alien forces 20 years ago. Many of our cities were leveled in the invasion including a trap set by us against the invading army utilizing an atomic bomb. Of course due to outside help we were able to defeat the Cyverons that were left. We thank them for their involvement as we would have been helpless against their space fleets. Our world has barely begun to overcome that crisis, by reverse engineering the alien technology to advance our world to better defend ourselves against another attack especially by the Cyverons our now mortal enemies. Our planet is willing to accept aid and possibly trade with other worlds whether it is technology resources etc. Thank you for hearing my statement."

She then sat in here seat with legs crossed with a serious tone on her face.

Alusair nodded to the representative of The Ganoxan Alliance. "We understand. While we are stretched in the humanitarian effort, as well as our war, we do still have enough resources to aid in reconstruction of your own homeworld, since, to be honest, a few paltry worlds do not consume resources as much for us as you may believe.

We only need the aid for one year as it is, so that once we have removed populations from stipped worlds before hand, we can then move the entire worlds to our dimensional Planet Foundry. Quite literally, every world will be remade with fresh, reinfused resources, before being returned to their original orbits. In literal essence, we can recycle a world back to proper essence.

The representative of Commonal we acknowledge for their assistance, by making the current maps readily available. The same for all other member states present. No need to hold such back. The same will be open for our current holdings in Archonis, Columbia and Corseria SCs, as well as Virgo where MWCG is situated. I imagine it will help in locating all those moons that are wished for."

Alusair giggled. "We would be remis to not mention we can't count easily how many of them there are. Know that to reach them we would prefer travel through our Confederate holdings in MWCG, adjacent to the Ahb Empire holdings, at least until agreements are reached to build new Gates if desired, of both Boson JumpGate and Dimensional Intracel Gate types, if signatories with capability wish for them. The latter Gates we would have to hold control rights over, since they are a part of our Accordance with the Heavenly Realm.

Saying such, I would hope preparation and acceptance is made to 'deal' with Angelics and Ascendants. It's a unique experience, and a core part of our travel system. Their tech can be made available for assimilation into existing systems and technology with time, though we ask for respect in the manner when desiring such.

All such to achieve rights to extract resources from our realms comes as such since the Columbia and Corseria SCs are only accessible through Fold jumps. We expect piggyback rides on our JumpShips or your own equal equipped vessels will be needed if you are to access those riches."

Finally she turned to the Asfaltum representative. "Purchase however is not of merit. We do not place cost in the same manner as most the rest of you. Monetary marks in our civilization is handled on credit value, not one of some pastic card, but rather a modest value of all combined resources, down to the very hydrogen atoms of basic elements. We had to shun such things early on in our history, since we learned space has all the resources needed, if you know where to look. As long as one does not treat such things with greed in mind, there is excess in aplenty of all resources to be had.

Our cartographers have been lobbying for sending expeditions to the Outer Red Galaxy Band, a real that had numbers of ancient galaxies that out number the Inner Young Galaxies where even our realm exists in, by over a thousand fold. The curiosity of what is out there is also laiden with the knowledge that the resources out there outstrips even ones we access currently. In proper time and work, the amounts could remake even most of the Milky Way in prosperity. We do not falsehood in saying any of this.

Saying such, we'll grant access to moons of your choice, as long as Confederacy interests of our internal allies do not object, to allow your needs to be met. It's more of a matter of respecting territorial integrity in this fragile time, as much as we simply don't put a dollar price on any world or celestial object.

My appologies in such."

An aide to Strategos Sharp hands Juvy Testarova, a datapad quietly. On it is a simple statement, "We would offer scientific assistance in assaying your space resources-- the mineral and chemical contents of your asteroid fields for commercial exploitation if you would let us collect biological plant and animal samples from your planet. We would of course provide you with any research we uncover while collecting these samples for scientific purposes."

After reading the device the representative called a datapad which she thought was smaller and efficient than the laptop computers she had brought with her. She gave a response to the representative.

"Your proposal seems to be acceptable by me. I will contact my government about this and see if the Research Headquarters would be interested. Of course in the case of the resources mined out of the asteroids we would like a cut of the yield found their in exchange for the mining rights say about 40%. The three ships moved forward at an incredible speed. After a few seconds, they dissapeared.

The ships themselves reapeared on the landing pad. They seemed shut down. Anyone who approached one would recieve a nasty jolt, merely 2 amps and three thousand volts.

Three people appeared in the confrence room. The first one was a thickly muscled man. He had broad shoulders, and wore a dark blue cloak covering most of his body. One look into his eyes and anyone could tell he had a savage intelligence. He had blue tattos, wild, and thickly patterned, and almost indescernibly, the tattos glowed. He had shaggy brown hair, which fell down to his shoulders. One eye was red, the other was black.

The second almost wasn't a man. A... thing appeared, wearing black plate armor. Wherever he went, the air chilled considerably, and anyone could detect an evil precense.

The third was an Elven maiden, cloaked in a white cape and a form-fitting dress. She had blue eyes and golden hair. She seeemed to glow, and where she was, warmth filled the room. Her hair was kept back in a ponytail, and she was smiling. She had tattos, most of them in arrow shape, all over her body. The arrows were dark brown, and many of them on her face.

The one in plate armor stepped forward. It bowed and said in deep, hoarse voice that sounded like metal scraping together, "I am Hissfallavurd, Imperial Remnant of the Imperial Council of the Imperium of GruntsandElites. The man to my right," Hissfallavurd indicated the man, who bowed deeply, "is Robert, Imperial Warmaster, and the lady..." He said, indicating the Elven maiden, "Is Kitranda, Imperial Citizenmaster."

She bowed and stepped forward. "We are here to help negotiate any treaty or anything likewise. We would also like to offer aid to any countries who need it. Also, I would like to apologise if we have inturrupted anything. They way we travel is..." She paused for a moment, and her smile faltered. "Strange." Her smile brightened again, and they all sat down.

A long sleek ship seemed to appear out of nowhere, however that wasn't much a surprise these days. The ship had White letters painted on a black background TGM. It was The Garbage Men flag. Underneath it where some more white letters. These read "Marketing Department". This was of course the corporations public face and all the members had been extensively trained in their positions and were skilled in putting forward the best side of all actions.

Their first call was to get their Depot's in as many nations as possible.

Trevor, Henner and Fren where the most senior marketing officers, the signal to the headquarters announcing their arrival had been set and they set down ready to head to the League's meeting room.

The three marketing people one of which was a woman, which was Fren, entered the room, looking around, noticing the discussion that was underway was coming to a close. A brief round of introduction, however done in a way that would leave some questions, getting the people drawn to get interested and wanting to know more. It was the most basic of marketing tools but also generally one of the most effective.

=()= C.N.S. Carlisle, Homeworld Orbit =()=

"Morning sir," a voice remarked to the striding mass of uniform as it emerged out onto the upper bridge deck. It brought a grunt by way of reply; apparently 0115 hours homeworld time wasn't the captain's prime social hour. The assessment showed: rumpled hair, dark circles under the eyes, off-duty uniform still on. Of course if one had been summoned from bed by a priority-2 communique from the Admiralty, with less than six hours of sleep behind them for the last week, that would usually do it.

The tired eyes turned on the ensign who'd had the misfortune to greet his commanding officer with a more chipper voice, galvanizing the junior officer to tap his screen and pull up a communication to flicker in midair at the CO's eye-level. It wavered there as he read the small text, ignoring the subtle glances from neighboring personnel. Finally he waved a hand, the message snapping off as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Oh, this can't be happening to me right now.

"Looks like someone needs some more sleep," a sassy voice commented, a figure appearing from midair on top of a nearby pedestal. The captain's eyes blinked open and regarded the new arrival with ill-concealed contempt, ears listening but not liking what he heard next from the ship's A.I. system. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that the Admiralty had dropped a bombshell on you."

A mug of steaming coffee found its way into the captain's hand, the ship's marine detachment commander arriving and arming the CO with the necessary preparation for what was going to be a long day. "Something going on sir?" he inquired before taking a cautious sip from his coffee. There was no response as the senior officer present took a steady swig from his, the caffeine giving him the kick that would be needed. His mind was already racing as he thought through the five-page-long list of tasks that had been given to him just the day before. When he got back from this trip he was going to lodge a complaint with the Admiralty. After he got some sleep.

"Yes," the captain finally replied when he felt alive enough. The A.I. and marine regarded him with ill-concealed curiousity, heads tilting simultaneously in what someone might have thought was a comedic display. "We've received orders: the Admiralty wants us to convey several VIPs to a diplomatic forum meeting ... They've ordered us to be underway in eleven hours."

The marine's jaw dropped open, surprise lighting up his face before he recovered and blinked, voice fumbling for a moment before his words steadied. "Sir ... half my marines aren't on board yet. The ones that are aren't armed to regulation standards. We're still taking on provisions, a third of the crew is settling in -"

"- We're having teething problems with 'A' mount, the portside dorsal flak cannons can't hit for squat at minimum range, we're having ghosting problems with the general search and navigation sensors, our shield grid keeps overloading and frying out on the starboard quarter, number 3 drive shaft is stalling out: the list goes on and on major. That's why they like to build new and expensive toys for the Admiralty," a new voice interrupted, the executive officer joining the grouping at the operations station. "Morning sir. Callie took the liberty of briefing me after a very presumptuous recall from shoreside." A mug of coffee gestured to the flickering and waving A.I. system that was still looking on.

The ship's commanding officer sighed and looked around at the bridge, as if noticing the hanging wires and exposed equipment for the first time. There was a welder of some sort running on the far of the compartment, but the smell of burned ozone still traveled clearly across the space, triggering the universal upturned noses and grimaces of distaste. For all the press and pomp about the first domestically-produced heavy cruisers in Commonwealth space, there are a lot of bugs to be worked out, he thought. Eyes flickered to the forward windows, seeing the bows of the neighboring Charger and Centaur as they lay to either side of the Carlisle. They had it luckier: the Admiralty wasn't breathing down their necks.

Finally he sighed and turned back to the assembled grouping, eyes sizing each one of them up. "Recall all personnel from shoreside and commence immediate flight preparation. Callie, inform engineering that they're to concentrate on the most vital systems first: that means all the shield bugs and problems with the main battery are to be solved posthaste. The same for the impulse driveshafts. All secondary problems will remain secondary until we're underway. Major," he stated as eyes turned onto the marine, "get the remaining personnel aboard. Take our ten dropships to wherever they're holding the marine equipment on the surface, load it up and get it back here. Your personnel will have loading responsibilities. Dismissed people."

This can't be happening to me, he thought again as they headed off in various directions. In command for a week, and I get this.

=()= C.N.S. Carlisle, Homeworld Orbit, 11 hours later =()=

The same thoughts were on his mind as the bow began to swing away from the dock, thruster arrays along the exposed starboard warp engines firing. A bevy of tugs were swinging and hovering around the vessel: nobody had had experience with 500-meter-long heavy cruisers in the Commonwealth for over four centuries. Not since the occupation by the Solstheim Confederation at least, which compounded the efforts to predict motions and antics of 29 million tons of steel, crew, ammunitions, armor, shield generators, engines, et cetera.

"Dock signals starboard nacelles clear," a voice remarked from somewhere on the bridge. Right now the captain wasn't focusing on it so much as on the sight outside, letting his XO handle things as the far-away bow continued its motions.

Seems so damned far away, he thought as he focused on it. He could barely see the pair of faint dots from the tugboats that were dwarfed by the curved prow of the space-faring vessel. Going to be a real pain for maneuvering if we lose the sensors. The realization caused a glance at the operations display panel at his side, checking to see what systems were at a hundred percent of operational capability and which weren't. Good: they'd managed to fix the shield grid problems, and 'A' turret was being tested now. His eyes looked back outside, seeing the twin-barrelled system training to port as the left-hand barrel elevated independently.

"... Clearing moorings now sir." The voice brought him back to reality, in time to see his first officer turning to him. Overhead lights glinted on his cold grey uniform, the epaulets on his shoulders momentarily reflecting it as his white hands folded on themselves, glowing green eyes scrutinizing his superior officer. "Sir, your orders?"

The captain stood, his uniform rustling in the sudden quiet of the bridge: his personnel knew exactly what was coming next. "Engineering, take us to warp." He watched intently as the stars shimmered and then began to streak around the ship - his ship. There was a flash as the vessel passed through the first faster-than-light speed that she was capable of.

"Warp 1 ... warp 2 ... warp 3 ...." Navigation was reading out the figures as the flashes came faster now. "Warp 4 ... warp 5 ... warp 6 ... and holding." There were grins around the bridge now as eyes flashed with pleasureable signs. "Sir, we're on course and speed."

Warp. That faster-than-light speed that caused stars to shimmer and streak past vessels as if moving in slow motion. Used by some states, rejected by others, embraced by a radical few as still capable of yielding more to explorers past the often-theorized-about warp 10 barrier. Commonwealth history held that warp had been rediscovered by the Soldenor Confederation following mankind's ancient fall, but in truth they did not know. Pre-Commonwealth history was a sketchy subject that only historians and a select few others theorized about, wondering what might have existed before the days of Enlightenment, when the written word was rediscovered and the civilizations on Bautizar VIII, Soldenor VI, and Gorjen IV took their first bold steps towards rebuilding themselves to the glory that might have come before.

The stars bore witness to the technological might of the unified worlds again, but it was insignificant in the larger scheme of things. Ships had come and gone for eons before this speck of a heavy cruiser had set out on its voyage, marching across space as if stars, planets and asteroid belts alike would bow down and pay homage to it. The carbon-based lifeforms on board who called themselves 'humans' had no idea that their ancestors had traveled along the same routes. Nor would know until sometime later that space could be dangerous and threatening to well-armed heavy cruisers and other ships-of-the-line.

Light flashed as the vessel slid from warp, emerging back into subspace and pausing there for a moment. On its bridge the crew surveyed their destination, seeing the clouds and atmosphere as the ship rolled, reorienting itself to enter orbit. There were other vessels here, ones of a myriad of descriptions that they'd never seen before. It was at times like these that Commonwealth citizens could feel very outclassed and young in the universe. This was one of those occasions, as they tentatively watched the other ships, hangar bays sliding open to allow a handful of probes to emerge and survey the area around the vessel. Electronic fingertips searched out into the heavens, some categorizing the stars and stellar formations in nearby space. Another jetted upwards, flitting along the tall mast just aft of the squat forward superstructure that held a variety of sensors and other equipment. The small unmanned craft turned its cameras on other ships, sizing them up and looking around. Still a third rocketed off ahead, passively analyzing the much larger dreadnought that was easily a rival of the Carlisle.

Enlisted personnel and officers alike took in the sight, forgetting about their duties and drifting to viewports to watch. A treeship loomed overhead, cutting around the planet on its unique orbit. Ahead of them loomed the dreadnought of a type never seen before, nor contemplated by any Commonwealth citizen. Astern was yet a third class. More were no doubt on the surface. All of them dwarfed the three-hulled cruiser, its long center hull and squat forward dorsal superstructure flanked by the enhanced warp engines that allowed the Commonwealth's very finest of ships to take longer and more tentative steps deeper into space. To planets such as the Asfaltum homeworld.

=()= Main Shuttlebay, C.N.S. Carlisle, Asfaltum Homeworld orbit =()=

The captain had no time to take in his new surroundings, as he straightened his uniform in the reflection of the shuttlecraft's hull. Behind him there were footsteps rapidly approaching, as a hand brushed some invisible fiber off the rows of medals that were pinned to the white cloth. Turning, he caught sight of the Prime Minister's handpicked representative, Sir Balfour, escorted by the ship's executive officer and an honor guard of four marines in crisp dress uniforms. Salutes and nods were exchanged on all sides, white gloves in attendance, artificial light glinting off the gold embroidery and medals on the uniforms.

Without saying any words the men and women filed onto the shuttlecraft, pilot ignoring them as his eyes watched the waving and glowing batons out in front of his personal command. Hands glided over his console as the ship levitated into the air, thrusters billowing the air along the deck and ruffling the ground crewman's pants. Only when the stars had appeared did he back away, swinging the orange batons to the stars that were now exposed. He watched the craft glide forward, passing through the magnetic barrier that fought to hold the atmosphere inside the long hangar.

The trip to the surface passed in silence, the craft bumping and rocking its way down through the atmosphere as the pilot's eyes scrutinized his consoles. Sir Balfour was intently looking over his CSD, fingers tapping on the device's surface and producing data for his eyes to once again peruse. Behind him sat the executive officer, across from him the captain. To the rear, looking as impassive and unblinking as always came the four-man marine fire team, sans weapons. Their hands flexed on their legs as eyes exchanged looks, heads nodding slightly as they conversed on a private neurocomm frequency through their implants. Only when the shuttlecraft held its descent, sweeping in for a landing on an exposed platform, did that too fall silent, the doors hissing open at the rear and revealing the planet in all its glory.

"Exactly two weeks ago, sir."

The Leader's eyes narrowed to slits. "And why wasn't I informed?"

The communications officer shrugged lightly, and put on the typical neutral glance. The Kreich was definately angry.

"Sir, with respect, our communications sector had a recent breakdown..."

"Is that remedied?"

"Yes sir."

"Then send a reply, you will get one to transmit in exactly one hour. Failure, will not be tolerated again," the Leader said darkly.

* * * * *

HMG has just been notified of a blatant act of aggression committed against a fellow member-nation of the League. As of the hour this message is sent the Commonwealth has received credible information to suggest that the threat of occupation has been leveled against the Empire of British Londinium, and that hostile forces are even now landing in the aforementioned territory.

Information available to this government also suggests that a number of treaty conditions have been leveled against the Empire of British Londinium. These appear to be unprecedented in any way, shape or form, and appear calculated to destabilize the aforementioned government to the point where it will be dependent on the occupying nations. The treaty conditions are nothing short of blatant interference in the sovereign affairs of a fellow state.

Appalled by the blatant disregard for international sovereignty of a fellow member state, Her Majesty's Commonwealth Government of Bautizar has no choice but to condemn this rash action. We further petition the League of Free Worlds to consider assembling a fact-finding mission to the Empire of British Londinium.

Sincerely,

We are validating the source of the cause of the conflict, which deeper within, proscribes a disturbing lynchpin to the entire ordeal. The Sphere Alliance considers this priority over outright support of the nation under threat in question. We are understanding signals from Sol-Luna that the conflict is already resolved, but is still monitoring from listening posts in our Japan territory on Sol-Terra.

We joined this alliance for honorable reasons, and to support another nation of the same alliance that conducted an apparent event of gross negligence, breaches the intent of why we entered this alliance in the first place. We are conducting a formal review of the situation as all information becomes validated.

Until then we are taking a neutral stance in this matter. We request the same of other members until the review is completed.

"Should we let the invaders change a member-nation's government into their own view of what is right or should we help out the member-nation, even the barbaric ones, and protect its free will from outside influences? Those are the questions we must face in this matter as it will decide the fate of the League. If we help out the Londiniumites we would be viewed by others as a morally incompetent organization and if we do not help a member-nation I believe we will be seeming weak in times of need. Although we of the Ganoxan Alliance find that the Londiniumites are barbaric in their governmental practice we shall send them humanitarian aid and supplies. Since we have a extreme surplus of food we would be glad to send them the supplies. As for military support since the war with the Cyverons we can only afford to have our military at Ganoxa for the time being. These are my thoughts on the matter," Juvy Testarova said.

There was a cough from farther down the table, causing heads to turn as the representatives eyed the source of the disturbance. It proved to be Lord Hourain, Her Majesty's Representative to the League, who had just finished putting on his spectacles before speaking.

"At this point it is a question of national sovereignty. If British Londinium had resisted from the very start, Her Majesty's Government would have supported an armed military intervention in support. However seeing as there was in fact little or no resistance, we have to question whether an armed intervention would in fact be successful, or even if it would be welcomed by the populace."

He stopped and thought for a moment, folding his wrinkled hands over each other. The representative was clearly old, probably around a hundred twenty or a hundred thirty, with the grey hair and distinguished figure of a statesman. After a moment of silence he continued.

"To respond to the honorable delegate's remarks concerning our organization being viewed as morally incompetent; it is the understanding of Her Majesty's Government that in the hours preceding the invasion and subsequent occupation there was a coup d'etat against the government. This last-ditch attempt resulted in the arrest of the President of British Londinium, who many viewed as the architect of this crisis. Therefore we must question the rationale behind this invasion, which was based first and foremost on his actions as of late."

"This organization was founded on the twin mandates of collective security and collective defense. As this problem is showing, it must be prepared to step forward and assume those roles in the near future." Once again Lord Hourain fell silent, yet this time it was clear that he was finished with his statement.

:: ~ Let's consider the argument, one where BLs actions of immoral improprietary was conducted by our own nation, given scales of our two civilizations as measured note.

If 'we' had conducted what was of apparent note, from indications, a 'hunt' of a form, from what we understood, had been conducted by our nation, what would the other nations here react with?

While we denounce the brash decision of the other invading powers that led to the invasion crisis of note, as a poor form of communication in the matter, very poor by our nominal standards, the reason behind it is just as poor a form of moral baseline, and could be 'easily' seen as justification for such morbid actions. Both sides are at equal fault, and we fear no real lesson other than uncivilized brutality has been accomplished here.

National sovereignty while an important secutiry issue, cannot justify immorat acts, and this body should not see itself as being forced to become impotent to any situation, that is in the end, a trigger for actions that do 'no one' proper justice. This goverment feels strongly that the Commonwealth is getting off easy. They would do well to learn their lesson and evolve from it to be a more respected nation that what they have demonstrated so far.

This alliance body meanwhile has a better obligation than holding to the idea that we 'must' go to the cause of every single situation that violates national sovereignty. If a good and respectful nation was attacked unjustly without cause of true note, this body 'should' throw it's weight to protecting one of it's members. But not 'every' time, not when the nation in question does something it deserves admonishment for. The Sphere Alliance holds the Commonwealth accountable for it's actions, and will leave it at that. Our power would be too disruptive for a single Terran nation to intervene in with, without causing disruptions to the other Earth nations anyway, even for mere supplies and logistics. Other nations of this alliance should take note.

In the end, we did not join this alliance to be dragged into wars that other nations cause of their own discourse, through means obvious in immoral make. In the future, we hope to convey that actions against the sovereignty of a member nation will be handled diplomaticaly, as the nations that conducted the invasion are boorish and brigards for doing so, no better than outright bullies in the end, for what occured, to cause the surrender of our member nation of the Commonwealth.

This empire-republic admonishes officially both parties in full measure and bulk for all action caused, and uses only word alone to express this. The Commonwealth, if it survives, AND if it matures properly, will remain faithful as a partner to help it recover, ONLY IF the party in question of the Commonwealth willingly learns from the reason all of this occured. Evolved and commonplace civilizations do not conduct 'hunts', in the manner they have so apparently done. If there is an actual need for population removal in the future, the Sphere Alliance will willingly and gladly assist in relocation to several of our more than ample territories of planets we control and govern. Better to give the masses a better life than see them hunted for ANY reason.

We express final sorrow in the matter, and also stable word to the other member states to stay a common line course, not to jump into a situation out of guilt or obligation, when such only causes greater harm and no good whatsoever. This situation would have caused ruin both militarily, and diplomatically, which guilt would have been the only true victor. We are better than this fellow members, do not say we 'have' to do something, without considering the step that is taken.

If it needs to be taken, a learned and educated step it must be. Not a fools errand. At this, we lay the matter to rest, and words studied. If any of it is confused, we appologize and direct to the final intent of the wording.

Regards,

Ascendancy-Sphere Alliance Council ~ ::

Statement of the President of the Britannic Commonwealth
Before the League of Free Worlds

I would like to apologise to my dear allies in the League of Free Worlds for the horrific conduct perpetrated by my predecessor, Mr. James Swanner. What he did was atrocious and a blight on the previously sterling reputation of the Britannic Commonwealth.

And with that apology, I submit to this League a promise: a promise that the Britannic Commonwealth will mature, that we will no longer stand for such gross violations of international law and human rights. The Britannic Commonwealth will stand for what its' founders, Emperor James I and Empress Hemali I, originally stood for: freedom and justice.

Thank you.

More ships entered the system - 30 Maulus-class frigates. It was favored for its versatility, speed, and drone capacity. They were soon joined by a single Ishkur-class assault frigate.

As the frigates approached, each frigate launched three drones. The drones followed their motherships around. It was quite a swarm.

=()= Quarters of Her Majesty's Commonwealth Representative, Homeworld of the Intergalactic Armed Kingdom of Asfaltum =()=

It was very quiet at this hour, night having long since fallen across the city. Only the sounds of guards patrolling and the occasional citizen walking down the deserted streets brought any noise to the still atmosphere. Sir Balfour liked the times like these; they reminded him of simpler times and affairs back on the colonies. He would have preferred some sleep as well, but a very insistent voice had woken him from an otherwise-sound slumber.

"This had better be important," the ambassador grumbled as he padded out into the main living space, blinking sleep from his eyes as a hand fished his spectacles from inside the pocket of his dressing gown. One of his aides, damned useless nerve-wrought people fresh from the diplomatic academy on Bautizar VIII, was standing there admiring the decor on the ceiling. A cough from the special representative caught the man's attention, face flushing a deep red as he realized that he hadn't noticed his superior's arrival. Still blushing he handed over the data system device.

Sir Balfour blinked and eyed the screen for a moment longer, then finally handed it back to his aide. "Pass it along to Naval Intelligence in the next diplomatic courier message. I think that the Kingdom will know enough about them to make a firm decision," he added over his shoulder before vanishing back into his quarters. Goonswarm ... Goonswarm ... where have I heard the name before? he asked himself, a faint lightbulb starting and stopping in his mind. He was still thinking about it when he climbed back into his bed, and it was still on his mind when he mercifully dropped off to sleep.

For the interim I'd like to suggest that in the future people bringing matters before the League (I'm a prime example of this) please go into some depth with your remarks, laying out the situational background and giving us some context.

I recommend this because I'm not sure how another thread will help us. One can only go so far before the repetition becomes rather ... 'bureaucratic'. >>

Ah, hello everyone. I, Asfaltum, hereby retake my position as chairman of the League of Free Worlds. Communistic Govts, you have done a superb job during my absence, and in return for that my military has sent you 2 asfaltum-made Submarine-class Cloaked Torpedo-ships (http://www.noir.org/artpacks/1102/thumbs/LeVicieux/Starship.jpg), which we hope will help to guard your planet and destroy your enemies.

As for the Londinium incident, there is no cause to be troubled. I will look into the matter and if there is any need of further discussion, I will take care of the matter appropriately.

I also welcome our new members, and remind everybody that there is no need whatsoever for you to send an envoy to my planet in order for you to be considered part of this League. Envoys are free-will, you may send them if you please, and abstain if you wish.

Official Eurasian Communiqué to the League of Free Worlds

Esteemed nations of the League of Free Worlds:

As I write this communiqué, the nations of the Coalition have soldiers policing our streets, erecting military bases outside of our cities, and disrupting the daily affairs of Eurasia. Eurasian citizens are afraid to go outside due to Coalition patrols; they are afraid to voice their true opinions for fear of Coalition arrest; they are afraid to do anything that they feel might bear the scorn of the Coalition nations.

I ask that this alliance investigate the Coalition occupation of Eurasia, and take measures to assist us in expediting their withdrawal.

Greetings!
We deeply regret the happenings that have taken place in your nation, and will commence an investigation to find out what the cause of these happenings are. If this act of violence was unprovoked, then we will take measures to ensure that you will regain your freedom.
We will also take TGMs proposal into account, though we would prefer a more hostile negotiation tactic. We would further appreciate it if you give us a link to the current thread where this is happening, and any other thread involved in this.

Yours sincerely

:: ~ The Sphere Alliance seconds the TGM proposal, but give it a three year time table to begin taking effect, after which we'll send representatives to suggest temporary LoFW introduction of security troops in place of the occupation ones, after which a one year phase down of LoFW allied troops will take place after a formal review of the BritLond goverment, to ensure that after removal of all occupation forces, the goverment remains stable.

If Coalition forces don't agree to these terms, 'then' the Sphere will consider soverengty at an issue, since the rule of civilized law still applies to 'all' sides in this issue.

Within the time frame indicated, there should no longer be a need for any occupation, and future diplomatic events will be refered to this alliance body, with the eyes of our Japan Annex territory as the proving body for this situation.

This all is an attempt to ensure a peaceful solution is conducted for this situation.

We don't necesserally have to have a peacefull solution. If Whyatica wants war, let them have it. With our combined forces, we would kick them right back where they came from. Of course, a peacefull solution would be more favourable since it would prevent infrastructure damage to Londinium, but I don't think we should be too weak in our negotiations. We should not give the impression that being a member of our alliance has no practical effect... this would make us a somewhat mute alliance, like all the other ones on NS...

Very good thinking...there is only one problem: the reason for the Whyaticas agression. As you can read HERE (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=512673), certain actions that Londinium has taken might be used to paint Him (and us) in a not so favourable light. Seeing that, does this alliance wish to be associated with British Londinium at all?
The existence of the Londinian government statement linked to here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12145526&postcount=16), not dated 1st April, leaves us severely concerned about the sanity of their government, and questioning whether we wish to be part of an alliance they are members of.
To summarise, suspend British Londinium pending an explanation of this, and consider booting them out of the LFW, or we walk.

"I totally agree with you", the Asfaltum ambassador said, completely ignoring Incognitias wish to "walk". "Not only, but I have some serious doubts as to wether Londinium should be considered FT, considering that they use B-17s... as a matter of fact, we can safely assume that Londinium is not FT, and therefore this alliance does not apply to them. Furthermore, I personally think that any nation that behaves in such a genocidal way, should not be part of this alliance." he paused. "We can therefore consider British Londinium expelled from this alliance, and we would recomend nations with similar notions to leave as well. Don't get me wrong, we don't care about your political ideals, nationalist, anarchist or whatever, but we will not defend nations who openly hunt and kill children and pregnant women, or have similar practises." The ambassador looked slowly around the room. "Any questions?"

"Good morning sir," the aide said from the doorway, tapping lightly on the frame before stepping into the workspace. There was a data storage device in his hands, on the back of which his fingers were tapping. "Just received this message."

Her Majesty's Special Representative looked up from his cluttered desk, seeing the CDS unit that was passed over to him. After a moment of looking at the device's screen he gave an obvious sigh and leaned back in his chair, a hand rubbing at his eyes. "What good is new membership if the League won't take action on anything? It's more a symbolic function now more than anything else."

The aide had moved to look at the starchart displayed prominently on a screen on one wall. He gave a silent nod of agreement while his eyes studied the display, a hand coming up to gesture at certain points while he spoke. "Agreed sir. We've got commitments now in the Tau systems and with that recent evacuation from New Albor. I don't think there's been a challenge to the sovereignty of a League member yet, or nobody's requesting aid or assistance."

Her Majesty's Representative frowned at the observation, then straightened out his face as he went back to working on something else. "It's credible enough that we're participating in it."

"Understood ..." the aide murmured softly, before something else came to mind. "Oh, message from the Admiralty. There's apparently been some problems (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=514231) as of late in the Tau systems; something about foreign presence encroaching in the area. We've been put on alert for a request of military aid, although they don't think that it'll pan out to anything major."

"Grace, get me the military liason back in here on the double," the representative directed to his secretary before glancing up at the aide. "Problems in the Tau systems? Wouldn't be the first time."

Good to see that my exploits are notice :)
Yeah I am playing as a race called the Kraetons.

http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Kraeton

NOTE the wiki is still underconstrution, but about 70% is finished.

They are a hegemonizing gestalt fleet that, like the Zerg of Starcraft and Tyranids of WH40K, infiltrate planets to weaken the defense, then ravage the planet until all biomaterial has been absorbed into the swarm, leaving the planet devoid of life, atmosphere, and nutrients. However, it is quite obvious that such a heinous race cannot possibly enter the League of Free Worlds because of their tactics, so I will be creating an original race and technology to join into the League.

If you guys ever want to RP a campaign against the Kraetons though, I would be happy to oblige.

One important question. I've read the thread, though I don't have time to read every post. The question is: Is this taking place in your territory? Are they intruding on your territory? Either way, I'll participate... but if they aren't intruding or invading, then I don't have to mobilize all members of the League. If they are intruding, then we'll ask all members to participate in a task-force, or place a couple of their ships under our supervision... ...either way, they loose, we win :)

<< OOC: For the last 34 years (ever since the question of settling in the Tau systems was brought up in the post-Unification government, in fact) the Commonwealth has held that the Tau systems are "independent" territory. Therefore, they fall outside its physical jurisdiction and administration.

Here's where it gets complex. (If you've got further questions, I'm on AIM pretty much around-the-clock, so don't hesitate to hit me up for an answer.) Commonwealth citizens have gone ahead and established a handful of space stations (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12177000&postcount=10) there (scroll down to Section VII and you can see three such stations listed). In the event of an armed military attack on any one of them you can bet good money that the military would mobilize to kick the ass of whoever was being the aggressor.

As far as the official government policy is concerned, it is changing quickly. The sudden profusion of alien and possibly very hostile forces in the Commonwealth's backyard (the Tau systems are very close to the colonies and homeworld, and sit astride the primary shipping route between the Commonwealth and the Confederation of Nations) is pushing the government to take action. Right now there's a major military facility under construction (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12215508&postcount=29), and you can expect them to issue something akin to the Monroe Doctrine in the coming NS days. >>

Dunno, you'd have to ask Delesa in the OOC thread.
Though a middle ground might be to send any force you desire, with Bautizar's agreement, to the fleet base he's establishing in the sector. That would allow you to show support, be in-theatre, and act swiftly if things go south; without intervening in the RP currently ongoing in Delesa's system.
I'm contemplating a 'show-the-flag' visit to Bautizar's home system, which would again give me forces in the general area if there's trouble, as my forces in Delesa's system are minimal.

<< OOC: How good are you with press releases? My recommendation is to type one up, clear it with Delesa, and post it in the thread. Or I can do one in the "Dispatches from the Commonwealth" announcing a round of joint exercises between visiting League forces and the Home Fleet. >>

I would prefer the latter, and while you're at it, you could also say something about "impending military back-up arriving" on the Delesa thread...:)

So how many of you are entering the thread? Just wanna keep count.

Also, are any of you interested in a first contact thread with my Kraetons where the LoFW discover these guys?

Asfaltum: Consider both of those done. I just got back, so as of the time this message is posted it'll be a few minutes or so to get completed.

GruntsandElites: Sounds good.

Edoniakistanbabweagua: Terror Incognita is participating directly in the thread. Asfaltum is sending ships to the base under construction (Bautizar VIII) for joint military exercises, and his being available as backup (read: not directly posting, but kinda lurking as a reserve option) is being hinted at for right now. (Additionally, Terror Incognita, you're welcome to join the exercises at the base under construction if you want to.)

So by my calculations that makes for 1 directly joining the RP, and 2 being hinted at but not posting to the thread.

Based on how things proceed in Delesa's thread (the RP that we're discussing, for those just joining the conversation), I can imagine the Commonwealth definitely establishing contact with the Kraetons. Is there any chance though of us doing an RP playing off of the exercises between Asfaltum and the Commonwealth (maybe a spore comes through the area, and we later find that a nearby planet is being colonized by them)?

Sure. Maybe I could send a spore to a world that is on the edge of the LoFW's juristiction (Obviously not one of the main homeworlds but a fringe world.) We could set somethin up tomorrow if you want. Gonna be a bit busy today (Im DJing my radiow show tonight plus the whole girl issue I told you about over AIM) but I would love to do a thread like that, for as many will find out, the Kraetons have more to offer than simple destruction.

We cannot spare a fleet at the moment as we barely have a defense force for our own planet, but we are building new ships at this very moment and may be able to spare those. We can however send a ground force for policing duties. A Arm Slave battalion of 250 Savages (http://www.full-metal-panic.com/image.php?file=images/recon/mecha/misc/savage01.jpg).

Bautizar-- Are you willing to license privateers with salvage rights. We do not wish to be "directly" involved in the conflict, but are willing to supply-- specialists if they are needed.

On the issue over Bautizar's trade routes, I'm thinking maybe the League has done enough for now.

Basically I'm sure Bautizar, myself and TGM can handle this situation, and if not, then later on the League can go in heavy. What is more, Undershi has come in independently as my ally, and while he's hanging loose at the moment, he's itching to get stuck in. An outcome unfavourable to Bautizar, and thus the League, seems unlikely at this stage.

By all means... I've sent some ships myself, and I'm confident we can sort this out on our own... so, as I said before, mobilizing the League isn't necessary... :)

<< OOC: I'd like to encourage all current LoFW members to register at the forums. My plan is to have coordination of the Kraeton plot there, instead of cluttering up this thread even more. (After you log in on the LoFW forums, there is a thread in the "NS" section regarding the plot.) And as a quick heads-up, this plot may require mobilization of the League. >>

Btw. to keep it simple, I would prefer it if we don't moblize the whole league... basically it would make coordination a whole lot harder, and would make RPing a little difficult on the IC thread... also, let's discuss this on the off-site forum...
