The Rastorian Mafia

The Federal Palace was besieged by the media personal and hundreds of presidential supporters and opponents. It was a momentous day for the Federation of Rastoria. The cheering and jeering of thousands could be seen from atop the mighty towers of the Federal palace.
The newly elected president Mr. Matthias Lichencrest had managed to get himself elected in the chaos of the Mob Wars. The infamous Kingpin of the Guild. The highly powerful and influence criminal organization. It was no big secret that Mr. Lichencrest ran this powerful organization and had brought down the Confederation with his massive war against the Rastorian Mafia.
The people had been forced to deal with an internal war inside their peaceful nation. The police and the government had proven powerless to stop these to criminal superpowers from killing each other and their allies. This had put the old confederate government out of favor with the common people. The common man and the elite hated reading constant stories of people being found dead on the streets full of bullet wounds and other evidence of violent death.
It soon became apparent that the only ones who had the power to end the violence was the Guild and the Mafia. These two rival organizations finally reached a peace agreement. This peace was not brought by the mass of arrest of the Gangsters and mobsters that ran the streets. It was brought into effect when the leaders of the Guild and the Mafia agreed to make peace.
The peace gave the Guild total control over it’s territories in the New Ireland and Neo German Bronx districts of the City of New Rastoria. The Mafia still had it’s own hold on the rest of the city. The peace also meant that Mr. Lichencrest and his organization would answer to the Commission. The Commission was the controlling factor of the Mafia. It basically meant that the Mafia had incorporated the Guild into itself increasing profits and giving the Mafia even more political and economic control over the country.
The Rastorian people realized the power of the nation was not in the governments hands but the in the hands of the Guild and the Mafia. The citizens called for an end of the rule of Supreme Confederate Jonathan Connelly and his government. The Confederate Congress began to start policies of impeaching the leaders of the Confederation. These bills past quickly thanks to Mr. Lichencrest’s political friends and acquaintances.
The new elections for a new Supreme Confederate lead to a new surprising event. Mr. Lichencrest announced he would run for the position. The people had mixed feelings about his decision. The more elite of the country had grown up with him and as a respected Arms manufacturer. He was a blue blood a member of the upper class and his father had left him a legacy of business success and political connections.
Mr. Mathias Lichencrest also had a dark side. This round jolly business man was indeed the head of the Guild. He was friends with the infamous Virgil Sikes a highly infamous Gang leader of the German Western Rose Gang. These gangsters ruled the Neo German Bronx district and served as bodyguards and security personal for Lichencrest Industries. The massive legal front of the Guild. It was their house and protection that provided the money and weapons that made them the superpower that could take on the Mafia and the police.
The common people were afraid of Mr. Lichencrest and decided to vote in his favor. It did not help that Mafia and Guild soldiers were at every ballot box within every major city inside the Confederacy. The election of the Mr. Lichencrest was swift because of a majority lead in the polls and the sudden and mysterious death of his chief rival John Connelly the younger brother of Jonathan.
The death was a clear murder John was found dead strangled by garrote wire. It was a standard execution style of the Mafia. It was rumored and correctly guessed by many that Johnny was whacked by one of the Italian Crime Families to help their new member get even more power within the country.
The Mob boss Mr. Lichencrest upon his ascension to the head of state position declared that the Confederation was no more. The rise of a new government was evident. The Confederate military did nothing to stop this nor did the Congress which was also disbanded. The Federation was born with Mr. Mathias Lichencrest becoming President of the country. To the law-abiding citizens of the country Mr. Lichencrest was president for life of the Federation and his new reforms were to purge the weakness of the old government.

The King of Bosses as he was now known was looking out of his window seeing his thousands of supporters and rivals preparing to hear his first speech as President of the Federation.
The round fat man dressed in his bowler hat in a formal business suit. He had a curved handled umbrella next to him. He was with several of his close personal friends one of them was Virgil Sikes his Underboss and closest friend. His other friend was Marv O’Riley his War boss on the streets. The others were just politicians and bodyguards that were permitted to be in the same room with the president.
The president sighed and walked out of the room and headed towards the balcony to speak to the crowd. His two true friends followed him out along with his small army of political and physical protection.
