South Africa, 2008

President Jamali Matanobo along with his family are assasinated in Pretoria by masked gunman. Matanobo was a successful politician who initiated several economic and political reforms which helped South Africa emerge from a teo year depression. Recently he was reelected after a bitter campaign against Tony DeLeon and his New National Party. A week later several important politicians are brutaly murdered. Chaos insues as old wounds reopen and threaten to tear the nation apart. Rival parties and factions begin to battle for control of the nation. A peaceful demonstration in Cape Town is met with violent opposition by Army General Tarik. Several hundred people are killed in the riot and General Tarik ordered his army into Pretoria and proclaimed himself President. Now, his army is spreading across the nation to control it province by province. A bloody civil war has begun. The UN has sent a peacekeeping force compromising of American, British, Australian, Italian, Jordanian, and several African nations. However, the force is slow in building up and has not yet been sent into the divided nation. Red Wolf Industries is a major military contractor with personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Bosnia, and now South Africa. Several executives and important clients are trapped in Johannensberg. A group of mercenaries, hired by Red Wolf must make their way through the war torn countryside, extract the clients and get out. The risk is great but the reward is greater.

History: Gunther enlisted at the age of 18 into the army. From there he began a military life marked with success. Several years later he joined the German special forces where he served in several hot zones across the world. He was wounded on a counter-terrorism operation in Afghanistan. However, he continued to serve until he got a lucrative offer from Red Wolf Industries. Upon recieving the offer he decided not to reenlist and became an employee of Red Wolf. For the past three years he's done body guard operations, military instructions, and other work for the company. Now, he's been sent to South Africa. He is smart and strong and if the money's good, he'll fight on any side.

History: Murata Tetsuo was born in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan, to your average Japanese family. Mother stayed home, dad worked at some software firm. Or, that's what Tetsuo thought. The Muratas were too rich for that to actually be Murata Kenshin's job.
He soon found out what his father really did for a living. He was a low-level Yakuza enforcer. However, Tetsuo found this out when his father was arrested, thrown in jail, and later executed. Fearing some sort of reprisal, Tetsuo's mother took him and his sister Sayuri to live in Kyoto. Of his own free will, Tetsuo also learned martial arts, and later, how to handle firearms.
Tetsuo attempted to get into Tokyo U when he was eighteen and failed. Needing some money, he got a job with Red Wolf. He has never left that job since.

Where are you now? If your outside you have to get through SAUA forces, rival factions, and street gangs. It's pretty dangerous, use your head, not your gun. If you're inside the city, sit tight till other mercs arrive.

You either already have your gear, or make your way to the headquarters, or buy something off an arms dealer. I can rp as support characters.
