Fuvammulah Island, the Maldives
The Helicopters touched down across the island, sent by the squadron of LPDs visible in the distance offshore, they were taking possesion of the maldives, for the glory of the confederacy, and to serve as a base for strike force excalibur, but that was totally classified.
The Marines dropped out of the CH-1/A Helicopters, covered by the L70 7mm Light Machine Guns as they fanned out into the streets of the city, other teams were doing this on other islands, moving to secure critical locations. There was little resistance, infact many of the people of the island ignored the men walking down the streets holding there rifles low and pointed at the floor, not making any agressive moves. It was all rather civilised.
The military bases were taken with only minor incident, the troops on the island, having been abandoned by there commanders, mearly surrendered as the horizon turned black with CH-1s and AH-2s approaching from all directions, the few surface to air missile batteries that were powered were engaged with LARMs and quickly silenced. Ninety men were killed, along with fifty Bjornian Casualties, they would all be buried with full military honours, the islands were secured by the end of the day, and the others soon followed.
