In the Free Land of Dartia, lawmakers were fuming over the NEA's latest proposal, Operation Mystic Tiger. In his office, Dartian President Allejandro Adriano was surrounded by his aides and staff.

"So, our alleged allies have elected to hop in bed with our enemies again? We give these people our loyalty and our money, and they repay us time and time again by fratenizing with our most hated enemy, Clandonia Prime. To hell with them. I am hereby issuing an executive order #2814:


All NEA personnel are hereby evicted from Dartia
All NEA assets within Dartia will be seized by the Dartian government as compensation for money paid to the NEA alliance
Dartia's borders are now closed to Wanderjar, The World Soviet Party, and Ezaltia


The Corporate Alliance seems far more reliable than the NEA ever was. Have someone contact the Griffencrest Corporation to inquire about membership. Also, I want to talk with the leaders of Ackistan, North Tolemac, Naasha, Surdan, and Greater Morocco right away to see if they will join us."

Dartia aligning itself with the morally corrupt Corporate Alliance is a move the PR of Sovistan finds reprehensible, but recognises Dartia as a strong and valuable nation for the NEA. Are you completely sure that you aren't rushing this decision? I'm sure a compromise could be reached.

SIC to Dartia From Foreign Minister Katie Sharle:

I think you are being irrational. At the moment a vote is being taken on Operation Mystic Tiger nothing has been confirmed. Check the General Assembly's lastest poll votes. Once the motion has been fully voted on then make your judgements. How is Clandonia Prime our greatest enemy? He just harresses our region occassionally and he has never harmed you (to my knowledge)

On behalf of peace and our government please reconsider these actions.

We strongly urge you to reconsider, or at least leave our assets alone. If you still want to leave the NEA, you're free to do it, but our stuff will be taken out of the country, Im sure the Alliance can arrange for your money to be given back.

As the nation responsible for tracking NEA assets, I want to point out Dartia's financial contributions to NEA exceed the value of the NEA assets in his country by at least $120 billion. Since it isn't possible to move things like bases anyway, I suggest the NEA be satisfied.

I am also displeased with the direction NEA has taken. The alliance seems unable to act in unison on any matter because no leadership has been established. Meanwhile, some nations are ignoring provisions in the charter pertaining to acts of aggression, and others are forming relations with nations that have a history of threatening the alliance.

Ackistan regrets that we will also be leaving the NEA as well. We will be taking control of NEA bases and assets within our territory. Like Dartia, our financial contributions to the alliance far exceed the value of what has been stationed in our territory, but to a larger extent.

There is also the matter of a large sum of money which Ackistan has been controlling on behalf of the NEA. If the NEA is willing to agree to not act aggressively towards leaving nations, I will order that money wired to a nation of your choosing immediately.

We regret to see you leave too. It's shame a little misunderstanding caused all this.

Right then, here is the deal:

My internet time is very valuable right now - where before I could afford to spend a few hours just on NS and still count on having time for other activities - some of which involve REAL money - now I only have 1-2 hours of internet time per weekday. Period.

I should not have to stress that this means I have to make certain priorities. Before, I made NS a priority because I had certain obligations here (namely the setting up of the NEA) and because I thought it was fun enough to spend the time.

As of today, that is no longer the case.

I am tired of the bickering, the cross-thread posting (Dartia, did you even consider to post your objections in the appropriate thread in the NEA forums? No, instead you post them in a thread that was all but closed down, and hence buried under several days worth of threads, where few of us would even see the objection, let alone know what was going on) and the over-reactions (pulling out of an alliance just after you have joined it, without giving good reason, is very immature, IMO). The cost of spending time on NS is now exceeding the benefit.

Therefore:

I am going to ask, one last time for there to be some maturity here. Dartia and Ackistan are hereby ordered to post their grieviances in detail here in either the "NEA ejected" thread or the OMT thread ON THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY SUBFORUM IN THE NEA FORUMS. List charter references to back your case.

If this is NOT done by the time I return to the net on Monday, I will leave NS. Trivalvia will NEVER have existed and hence any actions involving Trivalvia will cease to exist. This alliance will cease to exist.

This will be your only warning. My patience on this matter is GONE.

The Official Statement

The Kingdom of Nor nuin Giliath regrets to see both nations leaving NEA. We consider Ackistan and Dartia as valuable allies. We strongly urge both nations to reconsider.

"Well, quite the reversal eh?" Thomas Lenrov commented to the assembled UNNS chiefs, as they studied the Dartian public statement, as well as the private message from them.

"Ackistan has pulled out as well, and as you all know, that nation holds great popularity with the people here. They practically lead us into the NEA in the first place" pointed out Herria Valez, the newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs.

"Indeed, our position on Mystic Tiger isn't yet known by the world at large, and I suggest we keep it that way, it would be wise to keep our options open at present" Gregor Radinar, the Operations Director, added.

Lenrov glanced back through his papers, before speaking again, summing up.

"So, the situation is that our current alliance has sided with certain undesirables, to begin a war which may not be legal under our own charter. Added to this, our closest ally within the alliance has left, along with our closest neighbour on the continent, who has signalled their intention of joining the CA to us, and wish us to follow suit."

"Naasha's delegates voted FOR the operation to proceed" Radinar cut across him, perhaps the only person in the room who would dare.

"Also true, but we had no idea of just who we would be operating alongside. This gives us a reasonable excuse to withdraw our support" Lenrov clarified.

"Well..." began Valez, the room quietening again to listen to her, "I for one do not believe joining the Corporate Alliance will benefit the new Naasha in any way whatsoever. But neither can we afford to get sucked into a war with such an entity, as the NEA look set to begin. Therefore I suggest we publicly continue our support for the NEA, while having our delegates in the assembly withdraw our support, and our votes for the operation. Should the CA attack Nova Europa, and Naasha is directly threatened, then we will take our cues from Ackistan and Dartia and leave the alliance rather than be dragged into a war we no longer wish to happen."

Gregor Radinar looked suitably impressed, "All in favour?"

SIC to Dartia

Dear President Allejandro Adriano,

While the UNNS shares your concerns with the legality of Operation Mystic Tiger (this was not thoroughly reviewed by our delegates at the time), and is also surprised at our newfound allies in Transylvania and Clandonia, we do not feel that leaving the NEA would currently make sense for us.

With Ezaltian troops still withdrawing from our soil, and the nation still not up to strength, the Alliance still holds a lot of clout over us, and we cannot afford to lose favour just yet.

As for the Corporate Alliance, Naasha holds no love for that entity, and would hasten to point out that Clandonia Prime itself wished to become part of that enterprise. We urge you to reconsider your course on that matter, although we sympathise with your withdrawal from the NEA.

Naasha will be playing the waiting game for now, as we cannot afford to throw our alleigance one way or the other just yet.
