Fourteen Years Ago
Herra woke to find Sagiturn looking over her. For a second old fears and distant memories of treason beckoned to the forefront of her mind, but they were cast aside for purpose had brought him here. "What do you want?" She asked dryly. Rolling over on the long, large bed Herra turned her back. Sighing slowly Sagiturn continued to sit there, staring at the supple pale skin of his former lover.
"I've been sent to talk to you." His eyes flickered slightly as though every word filled him with pain. "It's about the will." Sagiturn let out a deep breath. "I've been sent to ask you to return to active duty, we need your talents." Herra laughed mockingly.
"And just what would you need my talents for?"
"For what you're best with. Pest control." Sagiturn rose and strolled to the other side of the bed, insuring he could see her face. "We found them." Herra raised an eyebrow, her thoughts were racing towards the Galactica and the rag tag colonial fleet that had escaped them some years prior.
"Adama?" She queried nervously.
"Not quite, much more. We've found earth." The two fell into eye contact, Sagiturn captivated by Herras blond flowing hair and almost perfect body. "But it's not good news, get ready and we can discuss it on our way into orbit." Sagiturn pointed to a bag nestled in the doorway. "You'll want that."
Herra ignored it and moved into the bathroom, naked and unblemished. "So tell me, what could be so bad that you would come running all the way back to me?" she shouted amidst the haze of running water.
"It's the thirteenth tribe."
"What about them, we'll deal with them once we get Adama."
"It's become more complicated than that." Sagiturn lay down on the bed, igniting one of his last cigars. "The humans have become more numerous than any of our projections anticipated." A small drag of smoke interrupted him.
"By how many?" The water stopped and the sliding door of the shower thudded against the silver railing.
"Several hundred trillion." He stammered. "The humans have expanded beyond our expectations." Herra came out of the bathroom equipped in a small tight red dress with matching heels.
"I guess you're right honey. I'm here for pest control." She led him out of the apartment towards the landing pad where an awaiting raider would whisk them into to orbit.
The flight was perfect, no turbulence, no high winds and certainly no surprises all in all it was entirely uneventful, excluding of course the small conversation going on between Herra and Sagiturn. "You know Herra, you're going to have to take back your old name for this. We all are." She shook her hair throwing the few stray locks out of her eyesight.
"Names mean nothing to me, we, all of us, are going to have to make sacrifices." Sagiturn nodded. "Our time in the desert is approaching, soon we will be wandering again."
"Just like old times." The raider docked with a Base Star.
"No, not like old times, this time we will find our promised land." The two rose from their seats and entered the ship of war.
