In regards to a past conflict, I thought it would only do real justice and power to those invovled if I were to write up a short history-book like entry immortilizing it for all time. I plan to put the same thing up on NSwiki, whenever I figure it out. To all those who were involved in this, the greatest battle in FT history and shortest war, then I tip my hat to you for you helped to create a wonderful story and an awsome freaking rp.

===

The Great Galactic Imperial Civil War was a war during which the Thrashian Empire attempted to usurp the Imperial throne from the newly appointed Empress Nightshade. The event sprung from the supposed death of Emperor Palpatine and the opening of a "power vacuum" which many Imperial Alliance members felt Nightshade was unable to fill. In trying to gain the Imperial throne and take over the leadership of the Galactic Empire, Thrashia's Grand Admiral Alabar instigated a civil war.

Coruscant
It was within a few days of Emperor Palpatine's funeral that Grand Admiral Alabar took it upon himself to begin gathering allies within the Galactic Empire and its allies to support Thrashia in a bid for power. He approached many different nations and even those who were tied quite strongly to the Imperial Throne and its new occupier.

Upon discovering Alabar's treachery Empress Nightshade confronted him in her throne room. Alabar denied all the charges and attempted to bring out Nightshade as a whore and as a lesser leader that was unable to fully control and rule over the vast Galactic Empire. Without notice one of Alabar's aides, a Major Kindal, took out his blaster pistol and shot Alabar in the back; his body fell lifeless to the floor. Major Kindal bowed to Nightshade and informed her that he was a loyal servant of the Emperor Shadaum IV and did not believe Grand Admiral Alabar was following proper orders by trying to instigate a civil war.

Empress Nightshade, slightly taken aback by this unexpected reprieve, allowed Major Kindal and his guards to leave, dragging the "dead" body of Grand Admiral Alabar with them.

However Grand Admiral Alabar was not dead. Major Kindal was ordered to shoot Alabar when he felt that the Admiral would be unable to extricate himself from the situation should Nightshade discover their plans. Alabar rose up from the gurney his body lay on and revealed the armor plating he wore under his uniform and showed where the blaster bolt had hit his back. Without further ado they returned to Thrashia Prime to gather allies and mobilize the Thrashian armed forces.

Prelude to Battle
The first few weeks after Alabar's return showed a great increase in Thrashian diplomatic channels. Emperor Shadaum IV agreed with Alabar and supported the idea of taking over the Galactic Empire and leading the alliance. Within a few weeks Alabar gathered together a group of supporters at an unknown point where they could ready their campaign against Curoscant.

Remiel de Draken himself made an appearance at the meeting and pledge to give his support against the Sith menace, as such was the way in which Alabar and Shadaum presented their cause. Several other nations: Godular, Parlim, Mini Miehm, Kyanges, Humankind Abh, Kendari, and No Endorse.

Because the Thrashian Empire was also a member of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances at this time, several nations of that alliance traveled to Thrashia Prime to help reinforce against the Sith threat. Later in the battle the nation of Mini Miehm brought a large portion of the Avon alliance fleet into the conflict against the Galactic Imperial Forces.

The Battle of Thrashia Prime
The first beginning of the battle started when Empress Nightshade ordered the Death Star and a large mass of Imperial Star Destroyers to head directly to Thrashia Prime. The Death Star was Thrashia's biggest concern, yet was to prove a false worry with the intervention of Godular. Upon receiving intelligence that the Death Star was moving and that Imperial fleets were heading toward Thrashia Prime, the Thashian Fleet mobilized in preparation for defense; all thoughts of the planned offensive campaign forgotten.

To defend itself the Empire of Thashia had at its disposal 9 full fleets, each containing at least 100 capital ships of the Star Destroyer class. Thrashia's home system was guarded defensively by asteroid fields "above" it and black holes "below" it, as well as billions of mine fields that surrounded Thrashia on all sides, except for the main system entrance known as the "Mouth."

Grand Admiral Alabar had supreme command aboard his Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer flagship known as the "Incarnate." In support, aboard the Epion Space Station, was Grand Admiral Schwartz. The location of Emperor Shadaum IV at the time of the battle was unknown except until the end when it was found that he was inside a hidden bunker at his palace on the surface of Thrashia Prime, the planet itself.

The first fleet to arrive was the Thrashian allied fleet of Mini Miehm. These nations’ fleets took up positions within the Thrashian System and prepared to repel all invaders.

The opening act of the Galactic Empire was a surprise assault upon the mine fields. Clouds of millions of the tiny, cheaply produced droids entered the Thrashian home defense systems from all sides. These droids were tasked with the destruction of the mine fields, cannon fodder in name and existence. After this initial assault by the Imperial droids, more allied fleet arrived; belonging to Kyanges and a single important vessel that was to have great impact upon the battle: a Godulan Mako class Star Destroyer. The first stroke by allied forces was the intervention of FTLi mines laid by Kendari pirates along the path of Imperial forces.

The first Imperial Fleet arrived out of hyperspace "above" the asteroid fields that protected that flank of the Thrashian System. Admiral Keldalri, commander of the Imperial Fleet and aboard the Death Star, ordered that the fleet advance through the fields using tractors beams to capture asteroids and launch them at any targets of opportunity.

To counter this threat Grand Admiral Schwartz shifted the defense fleets to face the asteroid fields and left Admiral Alabar to handle defense of the "Mouth." Without even informing Schwartz however Alabar launched all of his Praetorian cruisers (73) in his contingent out of the "Mouth" and into hyperspace. He ordered them, under Vice Admiral Konner, to attack the enemy flank and rear. Vice Admiral Konner, known as a hotrod and hot-head, gladly accepted the challenge and inspired his men by announcing that they would be the first to come into grips with the enemy.

At this time two new forces appeared upon the field of battle. Three massive ships of Parlim appeared, including the rare and powerful 'Sword of the Republic' type, in support of Thrashia. The second force to arrive was the forces of Khurgan, a Chaos worshipping nation with its allegiance tied to the Galactic Empire.

The attack made by Admiral Konner was completely obliterated and failed. Khurgan forces had appeared in their rear and tore through the cruisers. Admiral Keldalri had her Immobilizer specialist Star Destroyers also turn their flank and smashed into the unsuspecting Praetorian Cruisers. Admiral Konner and his men died within half an hour of fierce combat.

At the same time as Admiral Konner's attack was taking place, Admiral Alabar tried a new plan of attack. He moved the Super Star Destroyer Immortal into a position from where it could capture the defensive mines with its tractor beams and copied the Imperial tactic of launching asteroids by launching the mines at the approaching Imperial forces. At the same time Admiral Schwartz ordered the remaining defensive fighter droids (30,000) to launch and fight with a kamikaze-like adherence.

It was at this time, just as the battle was escalating, that Admiral Viersan and his 9th Fleet was fully mobilized 40 light years from the battle, amassing 430 Star Destroyers, 180 Praetorian Cruisers, and the 5 Super Star Destroyers in the entire collection of 9th Fleet.

The Imperial Forces were nearly through the entire asteroid field by this point and ship to ship combat was taking place at their greatest ranges. The Death Star was even closer and looming. It was at this vital juncture that Admiral Alabar made one of the largest and fatal mistakes of the battle. He ordered his flagship, the Immaculate, to charge up and fire its axle-super laser. He did so on impulse and with the intention of destroying the Death Star before it had a chance to fire upon Thrashia Prime.

However the Admiral had forgotten the presence of the Godulan Mako-class ship. The unique ability of this ship was the technology known as a "Void Shield." The Void Shield was capable of returning High-Yield Direct Fire weapon beams (in this case super lasers) to their point of origin, resulting in the destruction of the weapon that fired.

The Immaculate was destroyed along with Grand Admiral Alabar due to the void shield and his foolish mistake. Emperor Shadaum, aware of the situation through the MAGI system, placed Grand Admiral Schwartz in overall command of the defense in Alabar's place. In a last act of defiance, Admiral Konner took his flagship and made a hyperspace jump strait into the Khurgan flagship after seeing his command destroyed before his eyes.

Twenty minutes after Alabar and Konner's deaths, with the Imperial Fleet now concentrated on breaking into the Thrashian System main, the 9th Fleet arrived under Admiral Viersan at the very rear of the Imperial Fleet with total surprise. Admiral Viersan ordered all ships to engage and disrupt the enemies operations. His five accompanying Super Star Destroyers concentrated their efforts on the Khurgan flagship.

The Parliminian contingent began an all out duel with the Death Star and the great "Sword of the Republic" began systematically targeting and destroying the Immobilizer Star Destroyers. At the same time, now aware of a Goduland presence, Khurgan forces attempted to find and destroy it outright. Mini Miehm ships launched at this time a great salvo of missiles and weapons fire upon the Death Star in an attempt to damage it.

Out of the void and into battle at this point arrived the fleets of No Endorse. Late but not too late, they arrived and pounded into the enemy. Almost as if some cosmic joke was being made, another Imperial allied fleet arrived under the flag of Zactern Prime. After the arrival of these two fleets the fleet of Mini Miehm launched into a massive attack after its failed missile salvo at the Death Star. Thousands of fighters and gunships concentrated their efforts on the Imperial Fleet with devastating effect. Their attack was appexed by the arrival of the Mini Miehm Terran Battle globe.

The Khurgan forces commander, still embattled with 9th Fleet, began a bizarre ritual to the Chaos Gods in an attempt to destroy the 9th Fleets SSDs. However this was countered by the rare and powerful Thrashian Pysker known as Simon. Using his immense power Simon cast down the warp spell that was trying to destroy them and fended it off. Admiral Viersan, standing next to Simon, ordered that the entire available ships of the 9th fleet concentrate on the head ship of Khurgan and unleashed salvo after salvo of firepower upon it.

The Mouth

The 1st Fleet, under Admiral Veers, which had taken little part in the action that, was sitting in a defensive posture at the "Mouth." When the enemy fleet under Zactern Prime appeared before the entrance to the Thrashian System Veers laughed with contempt at their presence and quickly came to grips with the enemy, the 1st Fleet tearing into them with abandon.

Deployment

It was at this juncture that Grand Admiral Schwartz felt that he could no longer hold back the 5th-8th fleets that he held in defense behind the quickly disappearing asteroid field. As Imperial forces were flowing forth and the Parlim ships pulling back with damage he ordered his fleets to move forward and engage the enemy.

In a brilliant ripatoste Admiral Keldalri ordered the Death Star to halt and had her fleet form up into a classic 'Imperial's Bane' formation and had the DS take up a rear position of it. She then ordered the fleet to keep advancing until ordered to do otherwise. There would be no turning back until they had penetrated to the heart of the Thrashian System.

Turning Point

The great apex of the battle and turning point came with the arrival of Chronosia. Thousands of that nations might fleets appeared in the brief area of respite between the forces of the Empire and the forces of Thrashia. Many Chronosian ships also materialized within the Thrashian lines, melding with the line like any allied power would. The Thrashian fleets cheered with exultation and with the cry of victory! How could the Empire defeat them now with their allies, so strong, now amongst them.

However this cry was to die in the throats who yelled it. The Chronosian ships under the command of Lucian opened fire and lay waste to many Thrashian ships that were in their path. The fleet that had appeared between the lines turned its head from the Death Star and tore its mighty jaws into the flesh of the Thrashian lines.

This was not however the only betrayal. Another thousand strong Chronosian fleet appeared to the rear of the Death Star and the Imperial Fleet where 9th Fleet was. There Remiel de Draken himself commanded aboard his mighty flagship and ordered his fleets into combat, rending into the 9th Fleet forces with a holy fervor to give souls to the Chaos Gods. Remiel was making a bid for power, to both destroy the rebelling Thrashians and to usurp the Imperial Throne from Nightshade.

With no other options left to him and a desire to first defeat the Chronosians that were in the Thrashian System proper, he ordered the yet unengaged 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Fleets into a tri-phalanx formation and gave them orders to clear out and destroy the Chronosian fleet there under Lucian. In aid of this appeared the fleets of the Grey Knights of Dratheria.

The battle was fierce and bloody. Tens of thousands of fighters flew across the battlefield engaged in dog-fights of amazing proportions. Star Destroyers battered into cruisers. SSDs were targeted and destroyed. The Death Star and Battleglobe dueled like titans above a field of battle. Hundreds of thousands lost their lives.

Another ending blow to the Thrashian cause and its allies was the arrival of still more Imperial forces under the command of Darth Hydrus. They arrived at the 'Mouth' where the weakened 1st Fleet was stationed. Even with reinforcements from Admiral Khan of Borain, the Mouth could not be held for long. Therefore Admiral Schwartz ordered the two fleets to retreat from the Mouth and initiated the order 626. This signal was one that caused the thousands of mines in the neighboring mine fields to converge on the Mouth, impacting upon all ships located there.

The 9th fleet was nearly at the end of its tether and had taken heavy losses when there arrived one more allied fleet under Klington. This took a large amount of pressure off the 9th Fleet and allowed them to rally. The 2nd-4th Fleets Phalanx formation was turned and smashed into the flank of the Imperial spearhead in the system proper. The FLTi that had until then kept any forces from entering the system proper until then was destroyed. The Humankind Abh's fleet, which until then had remained out of the fight, appeared. Half amidst the Khurgan and the rest to fight next to the 2nd and 3rd fleets.

However the Thrashian forces were not the only ones to take advantage of the FTLi being down. Khurgan forces entered the warp and exited over and in the upper atmosphere of Thrashia and let loose a deadly poison mist along with several warheads. At the time the Parlim ships withdrew from battle. Heavily damaged by the combat it had endured and the loss of one of their 3 ships they could no longer stay.

It was then that the single most selfless act of the battle took place. Taking upon himself and the crew upon themselves, Captain Rivan and commander of Schwartz's Sovereign-class SSD Conquest launched his ship into hyperspace and smashed it into the Death Star.

After seeing this great act of selflessness, Emperor Shadaum ordered that the planet population leave via the Delta Evacuation Plan. It was a Warp Gate system that was utilized by the Thrashians to extricate their citizens and the majority of their ground forces from Thrashia Prime. Emperor Shadaum had also the vast majority of his industry and merchant guilds transport their equipment along with the citizens. Within hours they all disappeared through the portal and then onto the hidden Parlim system.

Before leaving the Parlim "Sword of the Republic" had left behind a worm hole by which the Thrashian forces could withdraw. Emperor Shadaum, wishing to save what he could of his men, ordered for them to retreat.

Against orders General Xavier in command of a last Crusader Defense station and several other fleet captains held their ground and fought to the last. Last to leave was Admiral Schwartz who wait until the last majority of allied and Thrashian fleets then initiated the last part of order 626; the entire mine field system that defended Thrashian space collapsed upon itself, destroying anything and everything that could be destroyed.

With Thrashian forces gone and the citizens of Thrashia escaped the majority of her allies left as well. Khurganate forces destroyed the surface of Thrashia Prime with a burning fire and caused it to die. Nothing was left of it.

So ended the greatest, largest, and shortest war ever to be recorded in the galaxy. The victor: The Chronosian Empire and its now subjugated ally, the Galactic Empire. The loser: The Empire of Thrashia and its collective allies. The war to end Sith tyranny was over and its banner would not be raised again for a long time to come.

Other than the fact that it down plays the fact that the rest of us kicked more butt than your entire navy, and you quite effectively downplayed the presence of almost all the Allies, it's a decent read. We did do the majority of the killing, and yet the focus is not upon the most successful companies. I, Parlim, and NE all had greater net value in that battle, and yet I rate barely 3 lines in the entire writeup. Parlim got more, and he did pretty well, but most of us barely got mentioned, even though the majority of the battle was myself and CW slugging it out(most of the posts were exactly that, myself and CW), while the rest of the navies tended to try and kill each other. I fail to see how this accurately represents the total actions of a coalition. If you want an accurate representation, it needs to be expanded upon. This is too bare bones.

As with all historical accounts, history is decided by the victors. Thrashia never claimed it was free of political slanting :D

The victor was in no way Thrashia, therefore your statement has no bearing on the question at hand.. History shows that much more of the battle was fought between fleets other than the Thrashian and Imperial, and that the Thrashian contribution was much less than he described.

Of course, following Thrashia's assimilation into the Empire, history can easily be skewed by our most talented propaganda agencies and iterators.

This has an amusingly dissident streak to it though :D

I remember reading this just before I started my intro. It was a good war, kept me from studying through most of exam week IIRC. I still remember when I read the admiral destroying his own ship. "No don't do it!" I actually understood Godular better before I became his ally. go figure.

You say that more than 1,200 Thrashian Star Destroyers, and how many other thousands of smaller vessels, is not a major contribution to that battle?

Thrashian forces destroyed: the entire Zactern Prime fleet, the majority of Khurgan's fleet, 1/3rd of the Empire's Star Destroyers, large portions of Anagonia's sith fleet, and destroyed in near totality the fleet under Lucien (Chron).
----

On an entirely different note, I made this to represent Thrashia's view of the battle. Of course its going to be biased. You really think that I would put a large portion in about Mini Miehm action when less than three years rp time after this battle you attempted to destroy my planet outside of Parlim space? If I remember US had to order you to withdraw.

So you can understand if I just throw you the bird in that regard when I wrote this. Oh, and most of that "slugging it out" you did with CW was between the DS and your fleet...and you didn't even scrape the paint job due to it's shields. I believe, in my opinion, that Godular did more for me in that battle than your entire fleet.

However *bows* I do thank you for the time you took participating in that rp. We may have our differences, but I do recognize you as a decent role player, and for that you may perhaps realize that what is written above is just simply another form of role play. If you feel so inspired, then I egg you on to write your own version of events.

However the truth to that battle will always remain in white and black in this link:

I consider the whole shebang the biggest testament to "A single Godulan ship making multiple fleets cower in terror." It was a bloody laugh riot.

And I don't honestly care that I only got mentioned once in the recap. I bagged me the Thrashian Flagship (oops), a Zactarn Prime flagship (I think there were multiple, so I might have gotten a few kills), and a few Chronosian battlecruisers... to say nothing of the fact that the DS was effectively crippled.

With one piddly little destroyer hunkering down on the far side of the moon.

It was just too bad my little ship couldn't stop the biological attack or the ships running away from the fight would have been under the Imperial Flag instead.
