At the Red Rock proving ground in northern Ackistan; delegates from The World Soviet Party, Dartia, and Ackistan had gathered to observe field tests of the new Soviet M1 Phalanx Main Battle Tank.
The Ackistani delegation was comprised of 6 senators from the defense appropriations committee, 3 army generals plus their aids, plus a number of Ackistani soldiers and scientists responsible for conducting the tests.
Testing Schedule
Test #1 - A stationary Phalanx destroys eight targets as quickly as possible. Four targets are stationary & four are moving.
Test #2 - A Phalanx moving over a mix of smooth and rough terrain must destroy eight targets as quickly as possible. Once again, half the targets are moving and the others are stationary.
Test #3 - The penetrating power of the Phalanx's main gun will be put to the test against a combination of Abrams, Challenger II's, and M3 Bradleys.
Test #4 - The tank's chemical and biological filters will be put to the test. Sensors will be placed inside the tank while it is targeted with shell containing benign agents.
Test #5 - The Phalanx's survivability will be tested against RPG-7's, M72 LAW's, SMAW's, and 60mm mortars. Dummies will be placed inside the Phalanx to determine what sort of damage the crew would take if subjected to such attacks.
Test #6 - The Phalanx's ability to survive heavy artillery will be tested. We will be using a 120mm mortar, 155mm howitzer, and an Abrams to conduct this test. Once again, dummies will be placed inside the Phalanx to study potential damage to the crew.
------------------
Test #1 - Stationary Fire
From a stationary position, the Phalanx must destroy eight targets. We will be tracking both how long it takes and the hit/miss ratio.
Stationary targets will be placed 400, 600, 800, and 1,000 meters away. Moving targets will be placed 450, 650, 850, 1,050 meters away.
OOC: TWSP feel free to post the results. I am assuming you are providing your own tank crew for the field tests. They can be as highly trained as you want.
