Coup staged in the Allied States! (MT, open)

World News Report:
Today, only a year and a half after the end of the Allied States Civil War, and only 4 months after the nation's first election for Prime Minister, a extremist group overthrew the Toad government. Alexander Smith (a candidate in the Prime Minister election, who came in second) of the United Worker's Party raised arms with his followers and stormed the capital. Reportedly, after the rebels lost the Toad Civil War, many slowly regainsed strength and just waited for the right time to strike. Today at 2 in te morning, King Toad II awoke to the sounds of gunshots outside his palace. All over, rebels have raised arms, many left over from the civil war, and stormed the homes of government officials. They have already killed the present prime minister, and burnt his house to the ground. King Toad's royal guards managed to holds off the rebels for long enough so the King could gather his family (his wife, Alexandra, and 2 kids, age 14 and 11, Charles and Vickerina) and servants and flee. He is supposed to be somewhere near the United Ed STAtes border, where not all of the cities have fallen into rebel hands. He is reported to be alone except for a few loyal followers. It appears cities and military installation everywhere are falling to the rebels under the UWP troops, often without a fight, because thousands of Toad troops have deserted when the rebelion started. As the rebels take cities, various extremist gangs have taken to the streets to take advantage of the opportunity. Riots from the rebels and local gangs and police are breaking out everywhere. The anarchy of the Civil War has struck all over again! King Toad appears to be hold up in a small military base near the United Ed States border, with some loyal followers, as I already said, and has gotten several messages out stating he needs help if has any possibility of retaking the thrown. Stay tuned to the World News Station for more on the turmoil in the Allied States of King Toad II!!!

Is there any way that we might be able to support you in these dark times?
The hold out loyalists managed to radio out this message:
Thank you for trying to help our mighty nation. However, it depends on how much you would like to get involved for us to tell you how to help. Right now, we do not know where our men are and where the enemies are. Until we begin to get info, we suggest you not send in any weapons or equipment because we don't know whose hands it will fall into. We are hold up in a small fort near the ocean. Although we are surrounded by rebel troops, we have so far been able to fend them off. We think we may soon lose the fort though and need a place to let the King and his family temporarily flee too, because if the rebels do get in and find him, the barbaric rebels will probably kill the king and his family. If possible, we wish a safe place to flee too. this does leave another question though, because even if we had a place to go too, we are completly surrounded.

Good day,

Lord Governor Baker
The King thanks you greatly. The enemy in the area appears to have only small arms, so you won't need to come in with "the big guns" neccessarily. Hopefully, we shall survive the 15 hours, and then all 1,800 men in the fort can be rescued.

"How's the situation in Allied States?," said Congressional Cheif Westman Fraiser, head of Parlaiment. "Poor, West. The rebels have control of numerous major cities now, and Toad fled to a fort somewhere. The fort is under seige, and things seem to be getting worse and worse...," replied Cheif Communal Official Anthony W. Lynn, head of the Representative Commune. "Did Franco finally approve the Toad withdrawel? With the Wanderjarians approaching, if we are gonna do it, it better be soon... and we need the Secretary of War's approval," said Lynn. Fraiser answered, "He did. But I don't know what to do about the Prime Minister. With charges being brought up against him for authorising that air strike in Nero, this might not be the right time to ask-" Fraiser cut him off, "Who said we need the Prime Minister? Message the Toad holdouts, send in an E-SCAO troop. It's time this new Prime Minister learns that he doesn't run the show!"

And so, the following message was sent to the Toad troops:

To: The Allied States of King Toad II, Loyalist Forces
From: The UES Representative Commune and UES National Parlaiment

In response to the rebelion in the nation of King Toad II, The Constitutional Monarchy of the United Ed States, in accordance with the terms of the United Jelly Bean Alliance, will immediatly send troops to help bring the King to safety, then send troops into the nation of Toad and defeat the barbaric rebels. Our elite E-SCAO (UES version of Navy Seals) units will immediatly be launched from their bases and pull King Toad out of the Allied States.

Later that hour...
The Prime Minister, Peter Franklin, sat at his desk. A beep! was heard. Franklin pushed a button on his desk and spoke into a nearby microphone, "what is it Ms. Hutchins?" But before she could answer, the door burst open. A frantic looking man in a tie stood before Franklin, panting he spoke, "sir, the Parlaiment and Commune have messaged Toad! We believe men have been sent to fetch Toad and his hold outs." The Prime Minister was fuming now, "what?!?!?!? They did this behind my back! Karles, it's time! As we have discussed earlier, I want you to tell the men. Tell them to place the entire Parlaiment and Representative Commune under house arrest. Have the King placed under house arrest also, and tell the men, if anyone gives them a hard time, to put a bullet in that trouble makers head! Today is the day, Karles, today is the day I truly take power! I want the Representative Commune abolished, and the Parlaiment true puppets of the new UES order! Do you undertsand, Karles?" A taken back Karles didn't know what to say. This means the Prime Minister really was attempting to take over the government, as he had eralier said. This was treason in the highest degree! He then thought of how much power he would surely have, as 2nd in command to Franklin. He replied sternly, "yes sir! Hail the true ruler!" Franklin smiled and stood up. He called his secretary and said in a calm and unexcited voice, "Hutchins, please fetch my car. Oh, and call me Regnator (latin for ruler) Franklin. Thank you." A dumfounded Ms. Hutchins shrugged and fetched the Regnator's car.

The King of the United Ed States sat on his balcony, late at night. He couldn't sleep with all that was happening in the past few hours, and so decided to sit on his balcony, undoubtably being watched by countless of Franklin's men, ready to shoot if the King ran for it. He looked into the Palace courtyard, lit by moonlight. He sighed, knowing the Ed States would be changed forever. Just then, a Pshttt! was heard from the other side of the courtyard bush. The King swung around, and there was Sir Jacob Cavelli, head of the Royal Guards, and family friend to King Roger IIX, the present day King of the Ed States. "Do not worry, sire, for it is I!," exclaimed Cavelli. The King was excited to see a familiar face from the "outside", "Sir Cavelli! How good it is to see you! I trust you are in good health?" "Aye, sire. I came to check up on you. With all of the killings and house arrests..." The King was startled, "Cavelli... what killings? The last I heard was after Franklin placed me and the Commune under house arrest... you see, they refuse to tell us what was happening in the outside world. All I know is Franklin has declared himself dictator." Cavelli replied, "yes sire. The average citezin is even less informed than you, sire. Golly, half the army's doesn't know what is happening... and yes sire, 2 members of the Parlaiment have been shot for refusing to be arrested." The King looked grave, and said "Hm. And the people do not know he is now self proclaimed dictator? Knowing his personality, that will not last. Listen, Cavelli, I was thinking, the only thing holding Franklin's place in power is him. Without him, his dictatorship will fall, for he has no one to carry on after him, with his power being so young." Cavelli responded, "Indeed sire. I have already attempted to contact our E-SCAO units, to arrest Franklin in the name of the emperor, but they are on their bases now, leaving for the Toad mission as we speak. However... I have a friend, formerly a Royal Guard, you see, now working in the Nation Ed States Minister House. He is entitled to information at work that... not the average person can neccessarily obtain. He tells me tommorrow, at the Central Parlaiment Building, Franklin will assemble all Parlaiment members, and film a national broadcast to all people of the Ed States. He will then state that he is now emperor, and his word goes. This of course, sire, will probably not go well. People will find out what happened then and probably riot to bring back the old government. But this could cause wide spread killing and turn the grand nation of the Ed States, a nation that has not had a full scale war fought on it's shores since the days of Duke Lanfalder himself, into a massive danger zone. I thought, as you did, that if we take out the man, we may reinstate the old government without much killing and destruction." The King liked the sound of this whole ideaology, but one question still plagued him. "But Cavelli, how will we get Franklin before his broadcast?" Cavelli smiled, "Ah sire. I too was wondering how, then realized. The A-SCAO were preparing here in Edland Heights for a possible mission into the Allied States of King Toad. They were essentially... a back up. Now, they sit idely at the EH AF Base. They have top equipment with themselves now, at the base. You see, if we could have these men storm the Central Building tommorrow, literaly right before the broadcast, they could take out Franklin, and end it right there! Of course, I'll contact the commander later to work out the details. He already said he would be honored to fight for the King in taking back the true government." The King was quite excited now. "The plan is brilliant Cavelli. But why did you need to come to me?" Cavelli suddenly looked saddened. "Sire, if things tommorrow, for whatever reason... go wrong... the first thing Franklin will attempt to do is go after the King. It would be stupid for the Parlaiment or Representative Commune to do anything. He may know that realisticaly the only people with the military on there side beside the Prime Minister... would be the King. Tommorrow, at 9:45, several minutes before the beginning of the operation, you are to take your family and servants and use the secret chamber that leads to the Grand Hall down the road. I will have my best men waiting there for you. They will have any possible resistance, if any, cleared completely. You will then be ridden out to Gerbsob Naval Yard. If at that point, the mission is a success, we'll radio the Guards and tell them to turn around. If it indicates failure in any way, you will be taken out of the country. Understand?" The King nodded slowly and helplessly. Cavelli smiled. He said, "good. It is only a few hours 'till morning. Gather your things. Good luck to you, friend." "Good luck to you, Cavelli. May I see you again safe and sound!," said the King.

*****************************************************************
Several hours later...
A man dressed in fatigues, with a small patch reading A-SCAO on his left shoulder, was looking through a pair of binoculars from several stories above self proclaimed dictator Peter Franklin. The man raised his radio. "Copy that, Strawberry ripple. Banana split, reading you loud and clear." The man looked down several stories as Franklin rushed out of the building surrounded by security and then entered his stretch limo. The limo, part of a caravan of 2 armed motorcyclists, followed by 3 police cars, then the limo, another 2 police cars, and a large van labeled GOVERNMENT then drove off down the road. The fatigue dressed man raised his radio, "Alright Strawberry ripple. The whipped cream is leaking out of the can. It looks like a much more Rocky road than we expected. They have about twice the sprinkles on either side. Over and out." Another man, on top of a 15 story high roof down the block, wearing the same uniform, raised his own radio. "Yeah, Vanilla reporting in. I see 'em. They are dripping down the sides of the cone." He saw the two motorcylists each had a RPK tyed to the back of the motorcycle. "Wait, those sprinkles seem to have more fudge topping than expected. I suggest we set them to top priority." The caravan continued down the road, then turned into the avenue leading to the Central Building. The limo broke off from the rest of the caravan and parked directly in front of the building. Franklin appeared for no more than a second before dissapearing behind a group of large secret service agents. They entered the building where, the men knew dozens of newscasters and Parlaiment members would be waiting for him. A group of men stood at top a large 20 story building across the street from the Central Parlaiment Building. "Alright, the cherry is on the cone. Hot fudge is leaking off to the sides. I want that chocolate swirl to come in about 5 seconds..." The men atop the 20 story building facing the Central Parlaiment Building waited for the caravan to pull into a lot directly below them. A man dressed in fatigues holding a flare gun began to count into his radio, "Alright, let those sprinkles feel it in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... now!" At "now", from the top of the 20 story building facing the Central Building came a Javelin anti-tank missile heading straight towards the van marked GOVERNMENT. The round hit the van and blew it into pieces. Guards surrounding the Parlaiment Building looked bewildered as anti-tank rounds began pouring on alkl parked vehicles in the area. Then, from atop the 20 foot building, aseveral .50 caliber machine guns began firing at the guards. They guards ran for cover. but kost were immediatly mowed down. One of the police cars attempted to make a run for it, but was hit with a grenade and burst into flame. Franklin, who was on the stage testing his microphone when the shooting began looked to his several secret service agents surrounding him. "Is that gunshots I hear?," asked Franklin. Then, a large man holding a grenade launcher rushed to the edge of the building across from Franklin's. He aligned the sight with one of the bullet proof glass windows high on the Central Parlaiment Building, and fired a round into it. The bullet proof glass was blown out of the base and went flying. "Alright, now we have a way in!," yelled a man in charge on top of the building. "Alert the charge! And shoot the smoke! NOW!" A single flare was shot across the sky, signaling the charge. Several dozen E-SCAO SF troopers strapped on there gas masks and prepared there M-4 carbines, along with there NLR (Non-lethal rifles) and emerged from the doors of the neighboring building. They yelled as they charged and poured fire into the group of guards hiding behind the front entrance. Meanwhile, the men atop the 20 story building used grenade launchers to launch smoke grenades through the hole in the Central Building. Inside the building, Franklin looked in horror as smoke grenades were shot one by one into the building, covering the vast room with a layer of low coating visibility reducing smoke. Soon, tear gas pouches and flash bang grenades, all non-lethal devices, were fired into the room as well. The room was soon filled with constant flashes, loud screeches, eye hurting chemicals, and the ever growing layer of smoke. The camera crews and Parlaiment members put their hands above there heads and threw themselves under tables and chairs. The guards within the building looked around for a iminent attack by there attackers, but so far all doors were securley locked shut. Franklin looked around franticaly as his guards began to feel the effects of the various gasses there attackers have shot into the air. His men began to gaug and fall over. Some gained awful headaches and couldn't even think. Then, Franklin heard it. A large thud at the front door meant that there attackers had broken through the front door, and were now pouring inside. Orders of "fasten gas masks and heat vision goggles! Switch to non-lethal rifles!" were heard as the men charged in. Half the guards at the front door didn't even fight back, to sick to even think. Out of the smoke arose several soldiers in UESSF uniforms, and Franklin screamed for his men to fire at them. He too however, was now feeling the effects of the gasses. A lead E-SCAO trooper rushed onto the stage. A guard near by raised his pistol to fire, but the trooper pulled the trigger on his non-lethal rifle first. Out of the NL rifle popped a large plastic flattened baseball bat shaped projectile. Although the round was no larger than a fist, it packed a punch. It hit the guard in his chest, and he was sent flying several feet. The trooper than stuffed a new round from his belt into the NL gun, and began to fire at another guard. Franklin had come too far to just give up here. He looked around and saw a knocked out guards handgun laying beside him. He grabbed the gun and fired several shots into the crowd of troopers. He then ducked behind the podium to avoid being hit by the NL guns. A head guard near him raised an Uzi and fired at a trooper running up the stage steps. The trooper was hit all over and collapsed to the ground. Another trooper near the edge of the stage stairs raised his gun. However, by now, the gasses had taken a toll on all not wearing a gas mask. The guard was so slow to react that a NL round slammed into the guards' head, and he dropped the Uzi and rolled over. Franklin knew the end was here. He decided he'd go down shooting. With a war cry, he threw himself up from the podium and raised his gun to fight off whatever may be on the other side of it. He wasn't surprised to see nothing but smoke however. The smoke was so thick he couldn't see a half foot in fron of him. Another gas pellet must have exploded nearby him, because he was suddenly hit with a powerful dose of nausia and dizziness. The gunshots had died down dramatically from the beginning of the fight. Franklin then gathered all his strength and crawled over to the emergency exit. It was just down the stage doors, he knew he could reach it. But from the other side of the stage, troopers were puring in. For a second a small section of smoke cleared and he saw shadows of troopers running closer. He fired at one, hitting him in the arm. He then got up on his knees and crawled to the door. At long last he was there. He threw the door open and flew out. In a second he was out in the sun again. His head even began to feel better, and some of the immediate effects of the gass went away. He took off to a destroyed car and ducked under it. Within another several seconds shots came from down the street. More troopers emerged from the emergency exit he had just came out of. Calls of, "there he is! Hey you, throw down your arms!" erupted from the troopers. Franklin looked around frantically. Indeed, there was no way out. "As last act as acting Prime Minister, I hereby take one more life!," he yelled. He raised the gun to his head, but a NL round hit his right arm. The gun fell, and his right arm stung and was almost definately broken. With the troopers only a few feet away, Franklin grabbed the gun with his left hand, raised it to his head, and before the approaching troopers could react, Franklin pulled the trigger. The bullet went right through his head, and smashed into the parrallell car. As blood dripped from Franklin's head, he crumpled over and died. And so ended the dictatorship in the United Ed States.

The recent push to give them citizenship would have been painful otherwise; as it stood, the heirarchial obedience gave the King a large voting block of the populace.

The King snorted - "Has everyone taken leave of thier senses? " As the machine began to try to answer that, he said, "Rhetorical question, skip, " and began pondering silently.

Message from General Alexander Smith to the Rilloras Government:
We thank you for your involvement in the war. Right now, all we have are some light weapons left over from the 1st Civil War (AK-74U's, RPK-74's, AK-47's, RPG-7's, a few jeeps, etc.). The loyalists, although very unmanned, has a lot more heavy weapons than us. The loyalist air force consists of only 2 F-16 squadrons (all others we have already destroyed). They are in the capitol city (Blempk City), the largest and most populated city in the nation. It borders on all sides by mountains, except for one, which has a river which leads out into the ocean. The river is large and most light naval landing craft can manage it, but we wouldn't recomend that, because the loyalists there would fire down on the river from there outposts. Besides the various small loyalist forts, only one massive loyalist stronghold remains: Blempk City. Inside the city lay several thousands of loyalists and loyalist supported militias. They have anti-tank, anti-air and anti-personnel equipment, as well as a few light tanks and loads of mortars and artillary. Please be caution when bringing your men into the Allied States, because if you attack the loyalists (especialy the stronghold city) your men may take serious casulties.

OOC: I suggest you bring in airplanes and Special Ops mostly and make sweeps of the Toad countryside first. Take out the enemy loyalist survivor patrols all within the country. Then move in for the kill at Blempk City. I will not try to lie, that taking the capitol will be hard. I will make the loyalists fight as hard as pssible, because it is the last loyalist stronghold. That is the plan I suggest, but you are welcome to do whatever you want.

Meanwhile, far away in Capital, the core city of the Kingdom , Jeffrey the Black sat upon his throne.

There was a soft beep from the arm of the huge chair, followed by, "Lordship, this unit has news."

Jeffrey pressed a button to acknowledge the device, musing that it was a good thing the AI's had been programmed to be subservient to humans from the time the machines started getting 'smart'. The recent push to give them citizenship would have been painful otherwise; as it stood, the heirarchial obedience gave the King a large voting block of the populace.

"There are many coups afoot, My Lord. The Toad King has fled his country, and war rages there. The United Ed States has a coup in progress as well," summarized the computer, as the large wall display on the other end of the room showed the details.

The King snorted - "Has everyone taken leave of thier senses? " As the machine began to try to answer that, he said, "Rhetorical question, skip, " and began pondering silently.

"Pull a third of the troops off the crushing of that human sacrifice cult, bring them to the palace as an elite guard. I want a little extra muscle here if someone local gets any inspiration from this. Three reinforced companies of loyal palace guard can't hurt. "

"Put out a RFQ to the liscensed mercanary companies for security work on a humanitarian aid operation. Mission is to take food, water, medicine, etc to the common folks in Toad and Ed. Budget is $50 million per country. "

"Once we get some bids, contact whoever seems to be in charge, see if they'll grant safe passage for a neutral humanitarian force. "

"Press release - We'll offer refuge to any nobility and their retainers. Advantage to the nobility is they keep their heads. Advantage to the rebels is the problem leaves the country. Advantage to us is we can politely interrogate them and score some extra intel. Everybody comes out happy."

The computer pondered for a bit, then said, "Expanding emails with standard diplomatic flowery phrases and sending, Sire."

Message to Jeffrey the Black:
From: Rebel General Alexander Smith
Dear kind sir,
We have recently learned of a shipment of food and medicine to be brought to the Allied STates. We would appreciate if you would send it to us, the true sons of the Allied States, so we may distribute it among the weary populance.
Thank you, Alexander Smith

Message to Jeffrey the Black:
From: Toad Loyalists in Blempk City
Dear affamed leader,
It appears you will be distributing out various "good will" goods to the populance. We will thank you for that, and hope that you choose to deliver the shipment here, at Blempk City Loyalist Stronghold. We will see to it that all citezins be given this fine gift. Thank you .
From, Loyalist General Gtolemy
Hail King Toad II!

OOC: Ok, if you give it to the rebels, they will use the medicine and food to help there armies defeat Toad's. Anything left over will probably then be sold on the black market to pay for guns. If you gove it to Toad's forces (loyalists), it will be used to help their army and if anything is left over... it might be given to the populance. But don't bet on it. If you drop it somehwere not in loyalist or rebel control, some random gang will almost definately take it and sell it all on the black market. Oh, and btw, whomever you choose not to trust and support will probably shoot at you. If you want to pull out of the humanitarian aid now, you can. I'd understand.

Alexander Smith thanks you for the weapons. Now, the quicker our men are trained, the quicker we can crush the loyalists.

OOC: Since the capital is under loyalist control, we'll say that the rebels self proclaimed capital is Sin Feou, a port city (the 2nd largest city in the Allied States). All troops and equipment for the rebels shall land or be shipped here.

OOC: Told you I'd help Toad. And can we just say my Spec. Ops. pulled Toad out to safety in my Capital Palace? I didn't know if you wanted it assumed that happened or you wanted to rp it to the fullest extent possible...

IC: In order to reinstate the old Toad regime, of which we fully support, we will be sending troops to the Toadlands, to sweep out the rebels, just like we did in the First Toad Civil War. Within the hour, the following units will be flown into the Allied States:
The 1st Army (171,500 men) under the command of Field Marshal N. Willingston
The 2nd Army (about 120,000 men) under the command of General G. Heightner
The 2nd Air Corps (about 25,000 men) under the command of General R. Heston

They will begin operations immediatly.

To: All enemy nations of Toad loyalists
From: UES Prime Minister Tryoni

Those nations who have foolishly decided to support the rebels shall be crushed. Our armies are superior. Due to recent purchases, every soldier has a Kevlar Vest, a G-36 Kinetic Energy Assault Rifle, and various grenades. We also have many troops to sign into this war, not to mention we have fought in the 1st Civil War, so we know the terrain, strategies, and how to fight this war. However, if any enemy nation wishes to pull out all of their troops within several hours, you may go free. Your nation will have no hard feelings against them, and you will never hear from us again. On the other hand, if you stay and support the rebels and we win the war, we will force your nation to pay reparations, and perhaps worse. The choice is yours... go free now without any major casulties, or stay and there will be hell to pay. Please message back for any negotiatory posts or other comments. Thank you.

Sincerely,
UES Prime Minister Tryoni
Representative of the UES Government (Parlaiment, the Representative Commune, and the whole of the Constitutional Monarchy)

Public Broadcast Communique from the Vice-Chancellor of Rilloras:

"After receiving the ludicrous demands by the United Ed States, All of Rilloras now supports our military arm in defending the government of a fledgling nation from the tyranny of King Toad and his allies of terror. As a result, Rillorian involvement in this war will be stepped up. We are currently deploying he 2RIEF and also mobilizing 3 and 4 RIEF for deployment. We shall not stand for these terrorists to destabilize the legal government of the Toad-lands. Rilloras will not bow down to the monarchist scum, or their pathetic allies.

OOC: Can someone make a map of the Toad states? I tried already, and for some reason I can't post it. It would make thsi rp easier if we had a map. i'h not specific, I just need a realistic sized map, with some mountains, some lowland, and lots of varied random terrain. you can not label cities too, but if you want to, I can give you some names of some of them. Thanks.

The Prime Minister looked at the paper that had printed on it the exact words of what the communique said. After a long while, he finaly looked up from the paper. "If they want a war...," he said to the members of the War Commitee around him, "we'll give them one." Cries of "Tryoni" and other war chants were screamed throughout the great hall. The war had now begun.

Sin Feou, Toad-lands
Field Marshal Brown watched over the harbour, where tanks, APCs and other military equipment were being unloaded. Rillorian military presence in the Toad-lands had been stepped up once again. The 1RIEF was already on the ground. 2, 3 and 4RIEF were to be combined as the 1st Rillorian Army Battle Group. The Field Marshal had been chosen to command this new group. Each Force would be commanded by a Marshal. As more and more tanks rolled off the ships, Field Marshal Brown knew that this would be a decisive war, and another venue for the Rillorian war-machine to flex it's muscles once again.

Rillorian Military Forces being deployed:

1st Rillorian Army Battle Group:

1RIEF -
321,000 men under command of Marshal Stukov

2RIEF -
265,500 men under the command of Marshal Starkland

3RIEF -
260,000 men under the command of Marshal Young

4RIEF -
121,800 men under the command of Vice-Marshal Gartner

18 Rillorian Imperial Specters (Elite Special Forces) -
8,500 men under the command of Major Katya

Sorry everyone, but I don't think I can continue on with this rp much longer. I can hardly find time to post because I has stuff like homework and lots of school projects. again sorry to dissapoint everyone but I really don't have time now to make my country be engulfed in war. Here's the deal, can we make a compromise between the rebels and loyalists? Lets say after a lot of fighting, King Toad agreed to give the people more rights as long as he and his followers could come back in power. After a while, a constitution was made, so now King Toad is in charge, but the people have lots of say in government, so the King cant just do whatever he wants, ok?
