Government Type: Varies from tribe to tribe, although overarching government is a republic.
History: Before the Civil War, indians were forcebly removed from thier homelands and forced, often by gunpoint. Shortly after the conclusion of Camp Hill, Confederate general Braxton Bragg completed the conquest of Kentucky; sometime after the U.S. agreed to mediation, Kentucky became the twelfth state to enter the Confederacy. In addition, the pro-Confederate Five Civilized Tribes of the Indian Territory were given territory of their own in the C.S., later to become the State of Sequoyah. The state is populated almost completely by various tribes, with a small population of a few whites, and some black laborers. The state is generally pro-Confederate, and has a particularly hostile attitude towards the United States.
Sequoyah has been marchin forward ever since. In Sequoyah the number one industry is firearms, and defense seems to be the only major industry of the state. The tribes remain in the old ways, with even the 5 Civilized tribes returning to a simpler existence. Sequoyah is an interesting blend of old and new: Huts and tipees have radios playing inside them; football is the state's favorite sport, with each tribe having it's own team; Cars ride alongside horses in the streets. The tribes have decided to blend the old and the new, rather then choose one over the other.
The Preamble to the Confederate Constitution begins: "We, the people of the Confederate States, each State acting in its sovereign and independent character..." and the tribes take this quite literally. They believe that, even though they were ceded to the Confederacy, on thier admission they became a soveriegn state, being part of the Confederacy as long as it suits thier purposes.
