This is now Airplane Disater's OOC thread

An airplane stuck in the air, it could crash in any nation causing considerable loss of life if it landed in a populated area. It has fuel left. What will the nations concerned do?

If you are going to take part in this thread it would probably be best if we all had borders, just for this thread...

(Yes, this is inspired by Panic in the Skies! but I hope it will be better...)
If anyone can think of a realistic reason why the areoplane has to keep flying, please post it

You could sort of do both, eg:
"Mr President theres a plane about to crash"
"Dang! Nuke it!" Meanwhile, on board the plane Maria was thinking about what to have for lunch...

No this is not a terrorist thing, unless terrorists are the only reason we can think of that could prevent a plane from landing. But in the film the cockpit was struck by lightning which killed the pilots and fried the computer, but i thought that was stupid but I'm cynical.

Or they accidently activate their ejector seats?

Erm... a number of people on the plane have succumbed to a mysterious condition and no nation is willing to risk letting the plane land and perhaps contaminating their territory without proper analysis of what's going on, and they can't get that until the plane lands, producing an interesting moral catch-22?

(obviously that has the flaw that someone can just "oh we'll take them", so perhaps not the greatest idea after all... I'll edit this with more if/when I come up with them)

OK map's up, I've put up all the countries that posted thier interest and the starting point for the plane and a city in New Bonzawaniia, any other cities we could name and place as we go along, I'll be updating the map as we go along.

The plane is coming form Selcarvo International Airport (Bonzawaniiaen Capital) and is going to Kanami (because it is the furthest away)
