The Invasion of Rophear

Fuggalania
22-11-2006, 22:11
To the southwest of Fuggalania, lies a strange land. A small province, backward and low tech, its people having not discovered gunpowder, although flame based weapons have been observed.
This land is Formally known as the "Empire of Rophear".
Fuggalania was once content to leave this quirky and backward land to its own devices, but unfortunately for the Rophearians, their realm sits on one of the biggest Uranium deposits in the region.

As such, Fuggalania shall be bringing Rophear under its duristriction. Any attempts by other nations to intervene will be coonsidered an act of war.

Fuggalanian F-105 strike fighters have been dispatched to bomb the primitive huts and forts of Rophear, whilst the Fuggalanian Army prepares to roll in.

Fine then. Consider this an act of war.

The Glorious Republic of Neo-Erusea greatly condemns the imperialist attack of Fuggalania. As such, we will send a massive counter attack against Fuggalania to liberate Rophear if all Fuggalanian troops aren't withdrawn and air attacks ceased.

Neo-Erusea.

You would attack Fuggalania for claiming what is rightfully ours?
You would do well to mind you own concerns.

As of now, any incursion by Neo-Erusean forces will be met with deadly forces. For every fuggalanian killed by your forces, another Rophearian village will be cluster bombed.

Do not test us.

Emperor Benjamin sat in his great hall his two closest friends and aides, one to each side.

Grimor: "Emperor... we are under attack from Fuggalania. Like the thunder birds that bought us to this strange place they use the metal birds of death. They have destroyed the city of Catchrimm and several outlying villages..."

Jindrak: "Emperor... the peoples who are able flee here to the capital. This fortress may be mighty but its just stone! How can we defend our people? Fire arrows cannot defeat these infernal machines!"

Emperor Benjamin: "Send word to our new allies within the Liberty Alliance. We accepted their proposal of membership as did Fuggalania, how do they react? By murdering their new allies in cold blood...

...this is why our Empire did not adopt gunpowder. This is why we retreat to a simpler time, a better life. Grimor.... speak to the Fuggalanians, request an immediate ceasefire under the act of alliances. Pleade with them to end this pointless bloodshed. Hear their demands and bring them to me, take my fastest steed."

Grimor: "Yes Emperor..."

Emperor Benjamin: "Jindrak write to every nation within the Liberty Alliance. Request immediate aid. This is a plea from a innocent yet helpless nation... we cannot wage wars beyond our reach. Our tigers cannot tear flesh from metal! Offer any ally that might stand by our side a life time of gratitude and any spare resources we may have over the next 50 years. Send word that we will give our finest infantry as personal guard to the nation's ruler who might save our souls!"

Jindrak: "Yes Emperor!"

Emperor Benjamin: "May the Gods not seal our fate this day... our sons shall never set..."

Emperor Benjamin sat upon his throne, perched on the edge with his face buried in his hands, londe blonde hair cascading over his features. Suddenly the mighty doors of the great hall burst open and the Emperor's good friend Jindrak burst through the door not waiting for the guards to assist him.

Sprinting along the teal carpet Jindrak dove onto the ground into the submissive bow possition reserved for the Emperor and in an excited but cautious voice announced his findings...

Jindrak: "Emperor! Two nations have decided to stand by our side as allies in this dire time of great worry! Neo-Erusea and Camgo will asist us destroy the sky birds! They may even assist us attack Fuggalania itself! We may be saved, the Gods are with us!"

Emperor Benjamin: "No my friend... it is the fine people of this world that are with us. We are yet to witness how the gods will treat us. Rally the troops and prepare to garrison the fortress, dispatch guards to every major city... we will FIGHT!"

The men of the Fuggalanian high council scanned the reports that came flooding in.

What had appeared to be an easy conquest had been blocked by meddlesome nations.

The council elder turned to his brethren and spoke.

"Options?"

An murmur came from the table, a council elder spoke.
"Although the threats of retailation are laughable, it seems we will not be aloud to adopt this course of action, we recommend operation "Dead mans switch"

"Ah yes, all in a favour?"

All hands raised.

"Then We begin"

Four hours later a squadron of F-105 thuderchiefs, escorted by F8CF's mad another run of Rophear.
This time the carried nuclear missles.
The fighters fired, the missles found their targets and burried into the ground, lodging in the veins of Uranium. They did not explode.

Meddlesome Nations.

Any interefference in our plans will lead to an ecological catastrophie. We will detonate our devices if you leave us no options.
Withdraw now.

The Aequatian Republic is quite concerned with the events which are unfolding between the nations of Rophear and Fuggalania. We call upon all parties to cease their activities immediately and open a dialogue to finding a solution to the issue at hand without the need for furthur bloodshed. In order to maintain international security and stability, we must first determine the sovereignty status of the Empire of Rophear and whether or not its government can be seen as legitimate, if this cannot be determined, then the nation of Fuggalania has control of the region and this becomes an internal issue.

However, while it may be an internal issue, the atrocities which have been committed against the people living within Rophear cannot be ignored, which is why the Aequatian Republic is calling upon the government of Fuggalania to surrender its political and military leaders to be tried in an international tribunal for crimes against both peace and humanity. Failure to fulfill our demands will be met with the forceful removal of your administration and military infrastructure by the Aequatian Republic Joint Military Forces.

You tell these false gods that our EMPIRE is a legitamate. That my people, our people are HAPPY not content with OUR WAYS. We may be slaughtered by these hell stones but if just one Rophearian survives he or she will declare war on the Aequatian Republic if they do not recognise our Empire, our independent allied nation. Secretary of State Heidi Ghoddard walked about the halls of the Ebon Tor when she was approached by one of her aides, "Madam Secretary, it appears that the nation of Rophear has completely misunderstood our intentions in the situation."

"How so?" She asked as she read over the report.

"It appears they believe that our questioning of their government's legitimacy has been seen as a threat to their nation, although I don't believe they read the part about us wanting to punish the Fuggalanians for the crimes they have committed within Rophear."

"Ignorant fools," Ghoddard spouted as she handed the paper back to the aide, "They missed the entire point of the statement, is this really a nation we wish to help?"

"The President has said to continue monitoring the situation, but to not make anymore moves until he gives the order."

ooc: first MT post in an age! *celebrates*
IC:
Atal Amner sat in his ornate office, serenely sipping a cup of tea. He set the cup down on a stack of inportant-looking dispatches, forgetting the saucer two inches from his hand, and looked at the spread before him. A dozen newspapers had been scattered across his desk, each one detailing some current event. A new icebreaker in New Heisen, some talks to obtain new battleships to replace the Iowas currently in service... There's a good idea he thought, stroking his beardless face. They're in simply awful condition. Why I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even floating at this point, given the shallowness of the Caranda Dockyards and all.

His eyes continued to dance along the myriad printed pages, hovering here or there for a second or two before moving on. They continued until he reached a small little blurb about a nation called Rophear. It was a short dispatch, maybe two paragraphs at most, but the name of the invader was enough to catch his eye. Who in their right mind is from a place called "Fuggalania?" After a few seconds of contemplation, he called pressed a small button on his desk. "Miss Vickers? Please forward me all information we have on the nations of Fuggalania and Rophear, and all information on their conflict and involved parties. Thank you."

A few minutes later, a young woman came running into the office, clutching a startlingly small stack of papers. "This is all I could get on those two," she said, handing Amner the still warm printouts. "It's mostly from international watchdogs and the internet. We haven't dealt with them before..." Pulling out several printed lists, she continued. "These are the friendly nations to Fuggalania, these are the opponents, and these are unknowns. I already got contact information ready for you."

"Ah the internet, such a gloriously informative cluster of tubes! This modern age is truly revolutionary! Thank you, Miss Vickers, that's all." He showed her out of the office, smiling at the closing door. I simply must give her a raise, she does great work. Returning to his desk, Amner scanned the stack and began composing a note to every involved party...

Salutations brothers in arms!
It has recently come to my attention that there is a minor conflagration in the area of Fuggalania and Rophear. Conflict is terribly indecorous, and this simply will not do. It should be resolved quickly, and the most rapid means are those provided by Fuggalania.

You see, Rophear is a backwards society, incapable of coping with the modern world. They lack technology, they lack machinery, they lack the industries that allow our societies to prosper. Why should we allow their arrogant leaders to so oppress their people? Fuggalania is merely attempting to liberate the poor people of Rophear. Why attack them for doing what is, ultimately, for the best of the people you are proclaiming to be "defending?" Any attack on Fuggalania will result in many deaths, much struggle, and incredible pain for all involved. The Fuggalanian conquest of Rophear, on the other hand, will be swift and relatively painless in comparison. Why should we fight the inevitability of social evolution and progress?

In conclusion, No Endorse will support any move Fuggalania makes in order to liberate Rophear. Be warned: any unjust and unprovoked attack on Fuggalania will not be viewed kindly. Please allow them to easily bring this horridly ignorant and squalid nation into the modern age, your interference would merely damn this potentially great people to inferiority.

Cheers!

Fuggalania: where does this sit timeline wise with that air raid? if you still consider it to have happened?

IC:

The Kingdom of Crookfur here by expresses her extreme displeasure with her erstwhile allies, Fuggalania.
The wanton acts of violence against apparently defenceless people are nothing but an example of babararity on a roman scale.
Whilst the conditions within Rophear appear of be a debatably civilised nature, it is not the place of others to attempt to persuade them otherwise using merely force of arms.
We would urge that an instant ceasefire be put in place and for representitives from both parties to attend a conference on board the Harald Campbell. While we do of course accept that the acts of Fuggalania have no doubt cast serious doubt on the possibility of freindly or indeed any form of relations between these nations we woudl point out that if diplomacy had been tried an agreement beneficial to both sides could have been acheived.

In order to persuade the Fuggalanian government that a immediate ceasation of offensive action is the best course all shipments of arms from Crookfur Arms are hereby embargoed and the local Crookfur Fleet is repostioning to be able to carry otu strikes against Fuggalanian military targets.
We hope that the Fuggalanian's will see reason but if they fail to do so they will face the most sevre of consequences.

Official Dominion Statement

The threats of Fuggalania to detonate devices do not frighten the Dominion at all. Should Rophear need devestation, so be it, but the Fuggalanian government shall not be allowed to proceed. Plans are already underway should the Fuggalanians enact a further hostile move against the Rophearans.
In addition, the threat posed by No Endorse is a threat to the Dominion. Should No Endorse try to militarily allow the Fuggalanians to subjugate and oppress the free Rophearans, the Dominion shall not take it lightly, and will draw in alliances, if neccessary.

Atal Amner chuckled gleefully as he faxed his reply to the Amazonians. Ah, diplomacy was such a wonderous game!

Salutations to our Amazonian friends, it is a pleasure to see that you are as interested in the situation as we are! Rest assured, you will be one of the first to discover the intents of No Endorse in the unfolding situation.

Now, if one follows the wonders of modern science and logic, one can very easily ascertain the reasoning behind our decision to support Fuggalania. Rophear is a backwards nation. Their people are socially incapable of competing on the modern stage, as is evidenced by their recent and massive losses to the Fuggalanian forces. It is only natural for the weak to be out competed by the strong. They lack civilization, and Fuggalania offers freedom from ignorance.

In nature, one does not weep when the strong tiger kills the weak one, nor when the cheetah kills the gazelle. One simply looks and says "it is nature, acting naturally. Why should I weep for what has gone on for millennia? I should let nature take its course, and be glad that I am blessed to be superior to them." Why should it be any different now? The weak, the Rophears of this world, will naturally be out competed by the stronger Fuggalanias. And in time, the Fuggalanias will meet even stronger foes, and them stronger still, until only the strongest, most perfect societies remain on Judgement Day.

Do not make the mistake of believing that Rophear is free, they are far from it. They are firmly enslaved in their ignorance. However, their self-created chains cannot be overthrown from within, no, they lack the prowess for that. These chains must be broken by an outside influence. And the glorious armies of Fuggalania are the ones that will do this. They will wipe away the scourge that is the Rophear government, a terribly antiquated and primitive farce, and teach these savages the ways of civilization.

Yet you threaten military action against these liberators! Any military action you take is simply prolonging the bondage and suffering of an entire nation of innocents. The operation to remove the festering tumor of ignorance could be finished in months if there is no external interference. In acting against Fuggalania, YOU will become the enslavers, lording your mighty technological advantages over the meek and helpless Rophearans. The entire weight of their pain and suffering must be laid at your doorstep, a fact I hope you do not take lightly. And I cannot allow any nation to presume to prolong the bondage of these people.

In light of all of this, I am deploying the first and second tactical fleets to the area. They will merely prevent any outside interference in the Fuggalania-Rophear conflict. They will not fire first, your move is the first. Any first shot that is fired will be of your own senseless aggression. We have no quarrel with any nation involved, we merely seek that justice be done to all parties.

If Fuggalania is truly superior to Rophear, we will see the outcome quite plainly. And the people of Rophear can only benefit from the knowledge that Fuggalania can impart onto them.

Zippy is a funny word to say. So much so, that when the Prime Minister of Whyatica recieves an urgent message, his computer goes 'Zippy! You have a new message!'. His name isn't Zippy, though. It's something boring like David Alexander Gates II. Oh well, Zippy is still fun to say. Moving on, a small diplomatic envoy message arrived through the secure route from the No Endorsian..No Endorsan...Noian..whatever you call them's embassy, nearby in the ambassadorial district in Miana. It simply stated,

Greetings comrade at arms! There is a tiny conflagration between two thirty-seventh world countries that I'd like you to have a little look at. It looks to be a jolly bit of fun. Oh, attatched are some of Violet's crumpets, I just love them, I couldn't resist you know. Anyways, Please send some support.
Atal Amner
Atal Amner

Why does Amner always sign his name twice? Gates thought, Ah..it's probably better to support them now so we can ask for a favour later.

He pressed a little buzzy button on his intercom, and said, "Linda, get me the foreign ministry. I need to release an international message."

His old secretary said, "Yes, dear, Prime Minister. Transferring your call."

The phone rang a few times before Gates heard the click, and someone, obviously yawning, said, "Yes, Prime Minister?"

Gates, annoyed, said, "Release an international message to everyone in the area of.." he checked the message sent to him from No Endorse, and said, "Rophael and Fuggalania, or Fuggawhatsit, yeah, Fuggalania. Tell them to back off. Something like that."

"Yeeah, Prime Minister, I'll get right on that." the man on the other end said, and hung up.

I need to remind myself to fire him.. Gates mused to himself.

INTERNATIONAL MESSAGE
It has come to the Imperial Democracy's attention that there is a growing ruckus in the area of Fuggalania and Rophael. We back our No Endorsian allies in this matter, and state that intervention into this conflict will result in military action. The Whyatican Second Tactical Fleet will be deployed to the area if there is further aggression. This means you, Amazonian Beasts.

"Sir, there's news that the Inferno is supporting a primitive nation called Fuggalania in curbstomping another, even more primitive nation. I suggest that we join our old friends, and beat the hell out of the primitives before they do anything stupid."

"Go for it, so long as we can conquer both of them when we've finished."

"Yes sir, We're activating Wild Card then. I'll be sure to have the press notified."

-MNN-

In an unpercedented move today, the Miehmish Government stepped into the limelight once again, declaring their total support for the actions of No Endorse and similarly aligned powers. Expeditionary Force Commander Jack Horner was heard to state that it had been much too long since they had done anything on an international level, and that it was quite probable that many modern nations had forgotten about them. With the rapid mobilisation of several bodies of soldiers, their numbers remaining undisclosed, though believed to be several divisions at the very least. In other news...

Across the word the news report played, in a hundred thousand different languages, from a thousand different networks and as many anchors. Few remembered the short lived glory of the Miehmish, but those that did would know fear. They had returned, and there was no way they would disappear again so easily.

IC:
The Crookfur government were getting some what displeased with the flagrant band wagoneering engaged in by a number of nations. Normally Crookfur couldn't care less about international dogpiling and the childish sheep mentality of the international community but in this isntance it was tresspassing into what the Crookfur government saw as thier sphere of influence.

Of course the more pragmatic parts of the government did agree with Fuggalania but thanks to the methods so far used they couldn't out and out say so. The the bombing of villages and the launching of nuclear weapons or at least claiming to have done so were both immesly distasteful ways of carrying out an act of imperialism, what ever happened to using merchants, missionaries, turn coat local adminsitrators and finally lots of nice freindly heavily armed troops.

The Crookfur govenrment again repeated its calls for leaders of both nations to attend a meeting on board the local fleet flagship in a hope that futher conflict could be avoided as after all thigns tended to be so much more profitable for everyone when people get alogn with each other.

But if the worst came to the worst the Crookfur Strategic command were confident in the fact that the local fleet group could obiterate Fuggalania's entire antional command structure, sow thier sea lanes with mines and be out of the area before any other major fleet could reach the area although of course such an action would be even more distasteful than that of the Fuggalanians.
Rophear
23-11-2006, 17:49
Emperor Benjamin sat around the huge oak table within his inner keep, around it sat the most important and socially superior individuals elected by the good peoples of Rophear. To his right sits Grimor, trusted emisary and spy... his skills within speachcraft were so advanced no man alive could debate his word with any real conviction. To his left sits Jindrak, he the Emperor's personal elite bodyguard and imposer of the Empires rulings was truly a god like figure in the eyes of those that served beneath him.

The young handsome Emperor sat his fingers meshed upon the hard cold wood of the round table. Silence cut through each individual until finally it became broken...

EB: "Ladies... gentleman. Who could have seen this occur? Hundreds of years of peace and prosperity and within a matter of hours our world has become the centre of attack. "Nobel" nations speak of supporting the Fuggalanian skum based on our standing as technologically inferior. WEAK. My friends... we chose our path because we realised that by chosing to fight with sword, spear and shield rather than their metal birds and gun powder that they not we would ultimately become savages. They are more unevolved as living beings than the rock jellyfish that the fishwives sell on market stalls!

They MURDER innocents knowing we cannot defend ourselves. They drop DEATH STONES upon our lands! They aim to ENSLAVE us! My friends... it is true things look dire. Our armies are strong, though they lack the courage to openly meet us on the battlefield! Our fire cannons may seem like marvels of technology to us but not even they can defend us from cowardly bombardment...

Grimor..."

Grimor: "Yes my Emperor?"

EB: "Write to every nation that has alligned themselves with Fuggalania... inform them that we are a free people, a civilised race whos Empire has existed since the dawn of our wake. We may not be able to threaten them with military might... our tiger riders have won many battles within our lands yet now it seems flesh simply cannot defeat flesh. It is the skys that bring death... cowardly false gods. Are economy THRIVES, our people are LOYAL, they know that if our blood must run to remain free, then let us be dead free men than living SLAVES!

Declare war on Fuggalania and every nation that supports Fuggalania. We are members of the Liberty Alliance, we belong to the UNITED NATIONS. Whether we receive help from our allies or not is yet to be seen. But we will not leave our homeland. Write to the nation known as Crookfur... they seem eager to help us on one level. They wish for a representitive to join them on one of their infernal "ships". Grimor... you are to go there meet these people and see if there is any hope of peace, that these death stones may not take our people.

It seems we sit on some kind of valuble rock... we will not move however perhaps if we offered to supply some of this rock to Crookfur they may become our protectorate? You discuss such options with them, though offer Fuggalania nothing but our resistance as futile as it may seem to them. Go now... time is against us my friend. We all pray the gods be with you..."

All Others (except Grimor): "Our sons shall never set!"

Grimor: "Yes my Emperor... it shall be done..."

With one hand on the dagger beneath his robe the sickly pale Grimor rose from his seat bowing submissively to the Emperor as he left contemplating how one blade might turn the tide of Rophear's future. Or if indeed Rophear could possibily secure a future. Alas he must try...

OOC: Crookfur, the raid did happen, it also made Fuggalanian high command somewhat twitchy and xenophobic.

IC: The council sat once more and looked long and hard at the situation. The ruse called operation "Dead Mans Switch" , a large bluff, had been called. The "weapons" being no more then electronics packages.

The Council has decided to release an open statement to the Goverments that by accident or design, had become involved.

Leaders of the world.

What we had intended to be a relatively bloodless "exchange of control" is being blown out of all preportion.
As of now we are are ceasing hostilities in the Rophear Theatre. However we believe that this dark and savageland is geographically a part of Fuggalania. It is a primitive and savage realm that if left unchecked may threatern us all.
We cease hostilites not because we fear annilation, but in the interest of Human life. Attacks by reckless states such as Neo-Erusea threatens to wreak the entire region.

Futher more, all attacks by our forces have been at military targets, a few villages have been hit, this is unfortunate but the mass geneocide claimed by the false regime in Rophear and by that of Military bullies such as Neo-Erusea is false.

Fuggalania is willing to talk. We are willing to discuss the sitiuation with representatives such as Crookfur, a nation to whom we apologise and hope not to have dammaged the bond that was forming, and to No-Endorse, for their reasonable attitude.

We are willing for the Rophear regime to be present, and that of Neo-Erusea, however we leave it to Crookfur to assemble a neutral court for us to present our case to.
The Horde Of Doom
23-11-2006, 21:27
The Horde of Doom existed in a nomadic tribal state...with lots of weapons. Thier navy were mere pirates, albet with much better equipment, and this state of affairs was viewed as generally a good thing. The Horde hadn't had a "government" in years, and generally disliked those people who chose to serve under one.

So naturally they caught wind of the situation, and were greatly intrigued. Another "backwards" people like themselves? The Horde studied the combatants and was quite pleased to find thier services could be useful. They mobolized thier troops, set the ships to sail, and great airships darkened the skies.

All this...and it turned out hostilities had ended. Naturally the Horde was a little more then ticked off about the fact they couldn't kill or blow something up. They had never been particulary good at diplomacy, the last diplomat from another country ended up being scalped after he insulted the Spirits of Chaos.

A message was to be sent.

To: Rophear
From: The Tribes of The Horde of Doom

Greetings brave warriors! May the ancestors bring 1,000 blessings upon you. We have taken notice of the hostilities between you and several "civilized" nations. Bah, civilization! Who needs it! We offer you our services, be they martial, diplomatic, economic, or any other such use you may have for us.

May Chaos call you.

Emperor Benjamin a slim man sat at the dining table of his great hall ripping a huge strip of flesh from a dressed snow crab that lay before him. To his left Jindrak set his mighty guardian and enforcer himself buttering some seed bread as a beautiful young lady refilled his beer.

Suddenly the great hall doors opened and a messenger sprinted in ran down the teal carpet and bowed dramatically a respectful distance from the Emperor.

Jindrak stood defensivly his sword drawn. Is this time of greed strife Jindrak trusted nobody but himself and the Emperor.

The Emperor waved his hand dismissively at Jindrak and somewhat reluctantly he sheathed his weapon.

EB: "Messenger... you bring news? What is it my girl?"

Messenger: "Emperor! Great developments have occured! The news I have received reads that the death stones around us are false! They are not deadly, they are some kind of mock death stone, fakes! Also under our threat of war the council of Fuggalania has halted any further advancement! The WAR IS OVER!"

EB: "The gods smile on us this day..."

Jindrak: "Hoorah!"

Messenger: "Further more my Emperor Fuggalania has decided they will allow our Empire to sustain itself freely at least for now. All hostilities has been lifted! Your emisary Grimor however must still attend the future meeting that may yet determine much of our future."

EB: "Our allies and potential allies regardless of potential vested interests may have done more good than I originally imagined..."

Messenger: "My Emperor... further more we receive an alliance proposal from... from..."

EB: "Spit it out girl..."

Messenger: "They are known as the Horde of Doom. A nomadic tribal state who resist civilisation. They frown heavily upon diplomacy however regard our Empire as a rebellious state. They offer us martial, "diplomatic", economic or other services based on an alliance. They are technologically "advanced" however seem to respect our way of life. I received the following letter not but two hours ago...

"Greetings brave warriors! May the ancestors bring 1,000 blessings upon you. We have taken notice of the hostilities between you and several "civilized" nations. Bah, civilization! Who needs it! We offer you our services, be they martial, diplomatic, economic, or any other such use you may have for us.

May Chaos call you.""

EB: "The gods... are truely strange beings. Chaos? We live not for chaos... the Empire, our Empire is a great civilisation! Yet perhaps they see these so called other "advanced" or "evolved" civilisations that threaten us in the same light as we? They are from what I understand... pirates?"

Jindrak: "We cannot allign with PIRATES! We are the model of civilisation! They would likely slit our throats rather than shake our hands!"

EB: "JINDRAK! If they wanted us dead... they would simply attack us... no. We cannot live like pirates or in chaos. Our traditions and values are what make us Rophearians... however...

They extend the hand of friendship and right now we certainly need friends. Their military power could protect us and in exchange our increasing popularity among nations within the United Nations could serve to benefit them...

...we will offer them this valuble shiny rock or at least a good deal of it to this horde. Offer them to these false death stones, who knows they may have use for them. Offer them a pair of our finest tigers as a symbol of this potential new alliance. Pirates or not, they seem like trouble... and its about time we started making trouble as WELL as receiving it. If they wish let some come and stay here in Rophear, we will keep a watchful eye of course but we must welcome these nomads."

Jindrak: "But... my Emperor..."

EB: "We will not CHANGE our ways. With the horde however, perhaps we may survive the ways of others. SCRIBE!"

From the corner of the room watched over by a burly guard a tiny old woman with ink and quill looked up her hand shaking...

EB: "Create a letter from my previous words and address it to the leading individual within the Horde of Doom. Messenger... return in but three minutes and then take this letter with haste to the docks. If you do not return in less than one hour without the letter reaching the cargo bay... do not return at all..."

Messenger: "Yes my Emperor!"

Jindrak: "...my Emperor?"

EB: "Yes my friend?"

Jindrak: "Are you sure about this?"

EB: "Yes Jindrak... this must be for the best..."

The letter was recieved and sparked some debate on what exactly these people wanted. The tigers were nice however.

The Horde decided to send a fleet of airships to the nation, so that diplomatic talks could begin. It was also thought that a military presence in the nation could help discourage other nations from attacking.
***********************************************************
"Sir, Rophear in sight."
"Excellent. They know we are arriving?"
"Yes." The captain smiled as his 9 airships descended from the skies. The airships buzzed past the shore and headed for the largest village they could find. The smiled as they watched the scenery, delighting in the unconquered savagry of it all. Finally they came upon a large village, practically a city. The airships touched down a quater mile from the city, and released thier contents.

Soldiers poured out, in the typical CENTURIAN (http://moddb.com/images/cache/mods/54/5470/gallery/thumb_28328.jpg) armor the Horde made use of. They left thier guns strapped to thier backs, and thier axes strapped at thier sides. From other airships crawled tanks and vechicles for the warriors, until all 5,000 men were setting up camp. From this warband, 20 rolled into town carrying the flag of the Horde.

The people of Eisfallion rushed into their huts and houses grabbing any available weapon that came to hand. The alarm bells tolled as the strange men approached the outskirts of the city.

The city guard mobilized, a unit of light infantry dressed in chain mail/plate armour and armed with javelins/swords and round shields marched towards the approaching outlanders.

The city folk brave enough gathered behind the guard in a rag tag militia unit twice as large wearing little no/armour and wielding a variety of improvised or second hand weapons. The guard haulted and demanded the civilians do likewise when they saw the flag...

The count of the city had been sent word about the possibility of these nomads arriving as had the other major cities of Rophear. The captain of the unit named Various ordered his men to stand at ease and for the civilians behind them to return to their homes and labours.

Most of the civlians reluctantly left with a few stragglers eager to see what might unfold, these were in turn driven off by the rear of the guard.

The horde marched to the edge of the city blocked by a mighty stone wall and huge wooden gates. Atop the gates archers stared down arrows not drawn. Two mighty ballistas manned were also atop the gates however Captain Various had sent a runner to inform his men not open fire nor to appear hostile.

As Various and his unit reached the innerside of the gates he halted waiting for these people to make themselves known.

The Hordian carrying the flag stepped out of his vechicle and cleared his throat. His voice was distorted due to the helmet, and sounded like that of a demon.

"We represent the Unconquered people's of the Horde of Doom." War whoops came from the other 19 soldiers behind him. "We are here to speak with your highest authority, regarding the hostilities against your people. We are friends and mean you no harm."

The soldiers behind him were confident the tribesmen would let them through, although they all had itchy trigger fingers and weren't afraid to fight if needed.

A few moments passed and whispers from among the archers began. Then suddenly a crie was heard...

Captain Various: "Open the GATES!"

The gates slowly opened revealing Various and his men. All remained silent for a moment longer before Various spoke.

Captain Various: "GREETINGS Horde of Doom. Welcome to Eisfallion! Forth largest city in all of the glorious Empire of Rophear! You and your men are welcome here as our guests! Our highest authority figure within the city would be pleased to meet with you men. His name is Count Salamond, please follow me to his palace my friends. Please though upon meeting his lord the count we would be most indebted if you would follow our local custom which is to briefly bow ones head before addressing his lordship... I hope my new friends this will not be a tribulation for you?"

"Of course! Just as we would expect you to sacrifice at the Altar of Khorne!"
The flag bearer and 5 other soldiers followed the primitive to through the city. They watched as the various villager stared at thier armor, and smiled. Some even flexed, just to show off. One of them spoke across the private channel.

"This isn't that bad a place you know. Perhaps I could start a family here."
"Aye, but once you settle, in roaming you can not meddle."
"True. But the people are blissfully unaware about the greater world....I mean, I enjoy scalping my battleopponents just as you...but it's time I spread my genes eh?"

They all gave a mighty laugh, which of course sounded like the mad howlings of demons, scaring of many of the villagers.

The transport arrnagements would bring the representives on board the Super Dreadnought Harald Campbell where they would first be offered a chance to make thier case and any other representations they felt nessicary to a senior Crookur diplomatic officer.

Mean while a few patrol sorties were flown by fighters of the Crookfur Naval Air Arm (CFNAA), studiously avoiding Fuggalanian airspace these flights would fly over the Rophear lands at very high altitude so as to present the minimum indication of their passing although radar operators amougnst the Horde of Doom woudl no doubt be able to notice the fact that these flights seem to converge around their airships and the fighters are not operating in a particularly stealthy manner.

Captain Various led the hordians through the village... their strange yet not altogether out of place armour led to MUCH chatter among the villagers, children escaped their mothers to dance around these demon men. Their laughter made them flee like the wind however and made the unit of Rophearian light infantry shudder in turn.

Various had already made up his mind... he liked these men, of course he could not allow his guard to slip. In these harsh times for all he knew they could be spies, assassins... men of Fuggalania. Various knew however when within the palace stealth agents, poisoned archers... one on each of these pirate strangers would ensure no terrible terrible plot would go to plan. A mere inch of cubic flesh on display would guarentee a death strike for these most valuble of the count's forces.

Twenty minutes later Various his light infantry and the hordians of doom arived at the mighty palce of Eisfallion. Upon scaling mighty stone steps passing several guards who Various made hand signals at for reasons unknown they soon reached the great wooden gates.

Captain Various: "Open the gates! Our allies the Horde of Doom have arrived!"

A few moments passed and indeed they opened, unexpectantly however behind the gates in the doorway of the great palace stood a man in his late middle age of dark skin and dark silken clothing, a silver ringlet crown rested upon his head. He smiled with a stange almost grinish smile looking up at his favoured captain...

Count Salamond: "Ahhh Captain Various! It is true... of all the great cities of Rophear the Horde blesses Eisfallion with its presence!"

Captain Various smiles and his men surpress the urge to cheer.

Count Salamond: "My friends... his greatness the Emperor of Rophear himself, Emperor Benjamin II has decreed you men are our welcome guests. He has entrusted myself along with the other Rophearan nobility to ensure terms are met to secure a lasting, devoted and true alliance that will secure our futures and security on this our ever changing planet. The flag bearer stepped forward.
"I am Commander Hardgut, Lord of Dashron 6, Feared foe of the Chaddawick tribe, and cheif berzerker of this unit." The flag bearer bowed, noting how his demonic voice had scared the man. He rose again, his helmets eyes glowing with a bright green. He had payed his respects, and had reverted to the tribesman he really was.

He slammed his flag into the ground, allowing the modified Jolly Roger, the flag of the entire Horde, to fly in the wind. Such a sight was seen by few living men.

"I have been authorized to agree and construct any and all binding pacts between us, and I hope our people's can come closer. As a token of our future together I present you with this."

One of the other soldiers stepped forth and gave the noble a finely crafted spear, of some bone.

"That is the Spear of Pythagoria, made from the bones of 1,000 Pythagorian soldiers, whose skulls were sacrificed to Khorne, Tzneetch, Nurgle, Slaneesh, and other Great Spirits. But come! We grow hungry! Show us what you eat in this land!"

Count Salamond stared at the spear he held within his hands, it was beautifully ornate yet a fearful object... he felt the weight of the dead in his hands, this indeed was a powerful artifact from a powerful people. The count then looked up at Commander Hardgut a grin on his face.

CS: "Ha! A man I can relate to! I to am hungry! Captain Various take this my new prized weapon to my chambers, the Emperor himself will be jelous of such a gift! I will be sure to boast it at the next great meeting!

Then join Commander Hardgut, his men, your men and I as we all feast in the great hall! What we eat... what we eat... my friend, Rophearans may be a simple people to the "outside" world but we KNOW how to eat and eat well! Come come..."

The count turned laughing with a swift motion his black caps fluttered as Various the Spear of Pythagoria in his hands followed. The light infantry unit waited for Commander Hardgut and his hordians to follow out of polite respect then followed themselves.

.........................

Five minutes later the men had reached the great hall, now seated young men and women both served wine, beer and to a strange spirit liquer blue in colour. The hordians seemed wary of this drink at first but watched the count himself sample it making a grimaced smile in effect. Indeed it was strong but tasted like some kind of bitter fruit, almost a blend of lime and plum. As the men drank their thirsty grew, hordians now with helmets removed (i thats ok) now seemed far more human, far more approachable and all the men laughed and talked and learned of each others' ways.

Then it came... first a WHOLE suckling pig stuffed with chestnuts, sage and onions. It was glazed in a fragrant honey. Then came the fish... dozens of fish of every colour, rock crabs, snow crabs, conga eel, lobsters, all grilled to perfection served with citrus fruits to garnish. Then the chickens, spatchcocks, geese all prepared in a manner of sauces, some in hot curries some roasted and served with potatoes, carrots and other various vegtables. Also came breads and cheeses and cakes and a whole HOST of fine foodstuffs. But the centrepiece of the table was the deer... veal like no other prepared with strange spices and the flesh itself marinated in fine red wine sat roasting still above the fir pit in the centre of the table, regardless of how much they ate the aroma of this speciality dish of Eisfallion kept the men's appetites strong.

Eventually the fest ended... and the man sat back fully content enough food left to feed all the poor of this great city! (and indeed thats where it was destined). The the count rose and raises his hands to his sides before he spoke...

CS: "My friends! I hope you found the hospitality of Eisfallion acceptable! My new spear was such a fine gift! Yet though I kept my tongue still till now I myself have a gift to return to you commander! Spentley!"

A huge muscular black skinned man dressed in gladiatorial like armour BURST through the doors of the great hall carrying an axe as tall as he, wicked curved blades and long handle made this a war axe, two handed instrument of mass destruction.

CS: "It may not have slayed 1000 men commander but it was crafted by our FINEST smith MANY years ago... to this day no finer war axe has ever been forged. Its light yet strong, in the days of the barbarian invasions this axe used by a predecosor of mine, this axe in its prime single handedly defended this very palace from being overun, the count himself defended himsef with this axe slaying a dozen men. All his guards fought valiently yet he and he alone survived the conflict of the count's private chambers... and this axe is the reason. I hope you may find use of it?"

Spently slowly approached the commander and knelt holding up the huge silver war axe...

[THE NONAGON, NEW SARIS, SARIS CONTROL ZONE, NORTHERN ARALONIA]

The Archon sighed loudly.

“What's all this, then? Intervention in a conflict? Time for us to intervene to stop the intervention, then. Third Expeditionary Fleet! Get them going. I don't care. Give Admiral Hawking and his group a warning to sortie in five hours. They should be coming back from... what, more ASW exercises with the Whyaticans?”

“Velkyans this time, sir.”

“Ah, right, right.” The Archon sighed again and took a sip of tea. “Good stuff, this.” He typed in a couple commands and looked at the data for the fleet.

The King Richard V, perfect. He's also got the Prince of Aralonia, Duke of Saris, and Aralonian Defender with him, first three of the PoA-class battleships off the line. Splendid! Three of the older Duke of Saris Flight II Mod.B carriers, and a whole bunch of Nemesis ASW and air warfare ships. Not bad, I'd say, not bad at all...

“Direct orders! Tell them to break off from the ASW exercises and have them sprint at maximum speed! Err, what's their maximum speed?”

“Limited by the Nemesis destroyers, of all things, at thirty-two knots.”

“Well, shit. That's okay, just have the Nemesis escorts pull back, we've got... other ships... nearby... or something. I don't know.” He sighed and took a drink from his tea. “Somebody's got to stop this madness. Link up with the Whyatican and fleets from, what was it? Doesn't matter. Get them linked up, they're Whyatican allies, so they're Aralonian allies.” He grinned. Yay, the King Richard V battlecruisers finally have a chance to shine!

OOC: They can take off thier helmets, but thier faces are covered in war paint and tatoos.

IC: Hardgut stepped forward and took the axe in his hands with a slight sense of awe. Harguts strength allowed him to hold it with one hand, and he swung it to test it's balance. It was finely crafted, and he could feel death and bravery flow through it. He would have to name it, and concescrate it.

"Thank you friend, for this is truly a weapon worthy of a demon!"

Hardgut took his seat again, with his axe at his side. He bid the Count to sit as well.

"It has been decided that Rophear is of key importance, and many preists wonder if this land shall play host to the Final Battle. I know you do not understand, but let me say that it seems Rophear may play a role in our religion. Allow one of my men to elaborate."

One of his soldiers stood up, and turned on several buttons on his gloves. A strange mist began to engulf the room, until all that could be seen was this one soldier. Through the use of lights and other gases he was able to paint scenes on the mist, and create sounds from his strange gloves.

"Millions of years ago, when the Spirits walked among the living, it is said a 5th Great Chaos Spirit roamed. He was more powerful then Khorne, deadlier then Nurgle, more knowledagble then Tzneetch, and more sensual then Slaneesh. His four brothers dislike him for his great gifts, and conspired to kill him. For 10,000 years they fought, destroying all life on Earth, but killing thier blessed brother. His body was buried in a strange land, that would be untouched by time, and whose very ground radiated with his presence. It is said during the Final Battle this 5th Great Spirit shall rise from the earth, and have his vengence."

The mists began and revealed that all the Hordians were standing, thier hands clasped in prayer. "Sing! Sing of what is to come!" They all began to chant, thier voices rising with religious fervor. The torches around the room blew out, and the room became very hot for no reason.

"We shell see hell clear in the sky
We shall see darkness
We shall see good and evil
We shall see city walls crumble and towers fall

Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos!

We shall see the Lord of Life and Death
We shall see heaven in hell
We shall be blinded by light
We shall see darkness

Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos!

We shall see the walls crumble
Walls built of pain
And above the cries of man
Hear one voice say:

I am Alpha and Omega
The beginning and the end
I am the first and
I am the last!

Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos is Calling!
Chaos!

We shall see hell
We shall see evil
We shall see darkness
We shall see sorrow
We shall see Death
We shall see Chaos"

The soldiers panted, thier prayer now complete. They sat down, and regained thier composure. "We swear to defend Rophear against any and all foes, and shall give her people weapons such as ours if they wish it. However we ask that our people be allowed to settle here, and perhaps that we might set up a few temples, chapels, and shrines. Our people shall obey all laws of this land, and will live a monastic life. If this acceptable?"

"ZAPP! Shut the hell up and listen!" Yelling on the other end of the line, was the disembodied head of Grand Admiral Richard Nixon. After losing his body to a horrible disease, his head was preserved and currently survives in a modified gefiltefish jar in the High Command building.

"Yes, sir!" Zapp said, suddenly standing, saluting, and tripping over himself.

An ensign on the bridge, attempting to control his laughter, said, "Lawl."

Zapp looked up, and said, "What did you say, sailor?"

The ensign stuttered briefly, trying to figure out what to say, and Zapp said, "Throw him overboard!"

Four guards promptly grabbed the ensign, hauled him off the bridge, and threw him overboard.

"Now that that's over with, we wait for the Aralonian fleet to arrive.."

[FROM THE DESK OF ARCHON DONED HOPKINS]
[THE NONAGON, NEW SARIS, SARIS CONTROL ZONE]

We have absolutely no bloody clue what you're talking about. I'm serious. Is is considered an act of war in this world just to move a ship in international waters at a nation? I refer to a rather nice book - it's on the international markets, at least I liked it. The Hunt for Red October. There's a part in that book where a fleet of some nation called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics goes barreling towards the coast of another nation called the United States of America. And do you know what they were doing there?

They were protecting that nation's shores. That's right. Would you go shooting a fleet that was coming to protect you?

In our case, we would be doing something rather similar - barreling towards another incident elsewhere but passing in the general region of your nation.

Have a nice day.

Admiral Jackson pulled his greatcoat around him and surveyed the gathering gloom from the "Fighting Top," the sailor's nickname for the high balcony around a flying bridge. The NES Caranda Upon Tyne heaved in the seas, crashing through the rough swell at thirty knots, throwing up massive torrents of spray with each wave. The piercing wind howled through the anchor chains as the vessel topped another swell, only to crash down again onto the frothing sea. A gout of spray shot outwards, soaking a small vessel tied to his ship's starboard flank.

He looked over, spying the NES Old Heisen Bay casting off from the Caranda Upon Tyne's behemoth form. In these seas, the mountainous Battleship could easily crush a destroyer, and stopping to pick up survivors would slow the group down dramatically. He adjusted his coat again, and walked around to the port side, fingering his binoculars. To the port, there were the two Command Battleships in First Fleet, flying flags massing more than eighteen wheelers. It took huge winches to raise and lower them, and cranes were needed to load them onto the vessel in the first place. He thought about the Kevlar weave, the only substance strong enough to hold up under such tremendous stress long term, and how much body armor could be created off of a single flag. He sighed and shook his head, diverting his attention to a dark shape darting through the sky, and dropping down towards the horizon. Off in the distance, silhouetted against the dark sky, a carrier in Second Fleet was apparently calling in more and more patrols. Good call, this storm looks to blow up even worse soon.

A flashing light on one of the vessels in the advance formation caught his attention, and he groped for his binoculars, watching the hailing code unfold. He squinted into the black, heavy droplets of rain beginning to pelt him like stones. After a few seconds, the signaler got to the body of his message.
Lightning ho, reeling in Sky Top. REPEAT Lightning ho.
He ducked inside the empty flying bridge and grabbed a phone, ensuring that the message had been received elsewhere on the vessel. As he did, the numerous other ships in view repeated the "Lightning Ho" message on their signaling beacons, each Sky Top equipped vessel flashing its confirmation.

"... affirmative," he called into the telephone, almost needing to yell over the howling wind. "Continue to maintain radio silence, except for confirmation of the Fourth Amphibious Fleet leaving port, or allied communication. I want all Sky Tops down before this gets any worse. Signal the fleet to drop to twenty knots for reel-in. Once last one is confirmed down, go to thirty or maximum safe speed, whichever is lower.... okay.... how long until we reach their coast? ....Good! I'll be right down."

He looked up into the almost black sky, rain pelting down ferociously. Slowly but surely, the ungainly Sky Tops were reeled in. They were large Zeppelins loaded with a plethora of radar and communications equipment, connected to their host by a long, thick cable. Not exactly the thing to have flying in a gale. Finally, the last one was clamped into position, and the fleet began steaming along at thirty knots anew. The Admiral sealed up the Flying Bridge, and descended the long stairway down the tripod, hoping to get a transmission from the Whyatican task force.

The Horde was not afraid, and enjoyed the fact that many smaller, weaker nations were preparing for battle. However they were a little worried about the satellite pictures of two large fleets moving towards Rophear. Many Chieftans were wondering what to do. The Preists had already thrown in thier two cents, and merely pointed to the writings in the Pseudonomicon. It stated that human beings were flawed and needed to be purified by the trials of war to become something more. Hadn't the gods spoke of "peace forged by war and hardship?"

The Horde decided to prepare for the invasion of thier new found ally Rophear, and decided a total of 2 million units would suffice. The mobolization had begun, and was quickly speeding up as troops on patrol were called from thier piratical or mercenary bussiness to prepare for the Defense of Rophear. News had spread among the Horde that Rophear could be the legendary resting place of the hidden 5th Great Chaos Spirit. Many warriors were eager to fight, as any catholic would do if Turkey had invaded the Vatican. It was time for a holy war, and they couldn't be more excited.

Mithril Class Amphibious Assault Ship's, capable of carrying 950-2000 troops and equipment, were lining the shores of the Horde, picking up tanks, vechicles, warriors and all manner of weaponry. Aircraft Carriers, Arsenal Ships, and the new Barrier Ships were being prepped and loaded.

It was crazy to send 2 million at one time, and the Cheiftans decided that the entire force would be sent in 4 stages. The initial force would land and fortify the important areas, preparing command centers. The second would bolster the initial force. The third would begin to set up all around the penninsula, securing Rophear. The fourth and final stage would allow for the final complement of warriors and would include the most offensive and defensive naval and air units.

The first stage had already been mustered and was en route:
Total: 500,000 Troops
250 Mithril class Amphibious Assault Ships(Carrying troops and vechicles)
50 Mithril class Aircraft Carriers(Helicopters and Planes)
100 Naiad class-Nuclear Hunter Killer Subs
400 Crocatoa-class Catamaran Modular Fleet Support vessels

Fuggalania was being viewed as a nation who was incapable of defeating the Horde, but who was still trying to create a "coalition" out of other nations. The Horde knew of Fuggalania's treachery in inviting other nation's to attack the Horde, and it was not taken lightly. If Rophear WAS invaded, after the invaders were defeated, Fuggalania would be the next step, ensuring the Rophearians would have a much larger homeland.

Rophear had to be told of such treachery.

To: Rophear
From: The Horde of Doom

Fuggalania has sent out a general request for war upon not only your nation but ours as well. So far the nations of New Nicksyllvania and Sovistan have replied, and seem bent on invading. Our sateillites also detect large fleets of unknown national origin outside you waters but that seem to have a sinister plan. We have promised to defend you at all costs, and as such have deemed it neccessary to send more troops to defend your nation from Fuggalania and her allies. The total force will number 2 million, but we can not send these all at once. 500,000 troops along with tanks, vechicles, ships and other equipment are enroute.

The Horde would not be moved, and Rophear would be protected.

ooc: sorry if it takes me a bit to post, I'm in the middle of hellish and well-coordinated ZOMG LAST ASSIGNMENT BEFORE MIDTERMS crunch time. So every teacher wants to get in another huge grade (or eight) before the eleventh. I'll try to keep up though.

Oh, one thing to note though, catamarans are cool for little sailboats, not cool for ships that expect to be enduring a lot of structural stresses (like warships) They lack a structural spine.

Impatient of waiting for Fuggalania's reply, and fearing that a Horde offensive would smash any chances Sovistan had in the region before it had even arrived, Premier Siudzin ordered the army to mobilise immediately for transport the Rophear-Fuggalania border.

---

At ports outside the city, infantry and light tanks were being loaded into a convoy of transport ships. They all wore gasmasks to protect themselves from the polluted air, and carried cheap, mass-produced AK47s.

This, the first (And most likely only) wave, comprises of:
10,000 Infantry- equipped with AK47 assault rifles and PK machineguns.
250 T55 tanks
50 Shillka AA tanks
5 tonnes of poisonous gas canisters- The Sovistan armys last resort in battle is to attempt the give themselves the upper hand by making a battlefield into something they would be used to- a toxic mess.

"My Emperor, a large force appears to be moving into Rophear, it appears to be there to assist in defending them, or taking them before we can get a piece."
"Where is this Rophear you speak of?"
"That small primitive land Fuggalania is invading, and a possible colonial territory for us"
"Well then, move in troops, we don't need permission to take what we want from lesser nations"
"Yes your majesty"

12 Divisions have been mobalized and 3 Imperial Battlefleets are being prepared to attack and seize Territory from Rophear.

OOC: Woooah Guys, no invasion yet, Im plotting and scheming.
No Endorse. Could you possible help even the odds against the Horde, your navy could block the Hordes supply routes....
Rest of you "Coilition of the Freakin Deranged", Would your armys like to set up camps along the Fuggalanian-Rophearian border?
I've been setting up a massive line of defenses to keep the Hordians out.

Nicksyllvania- Join Fuggalania or Join the Horde. Its that simple or I will fire a big juicy ignore gun at you.

IC:

The fuggalanian armed forces had held their end of the bargin and were willing to sit at the table with Rophear and disscuss peaceful options.
However the Rophearians were swayed by the seductive power of the aggressive Horde, which many in Fuggalania believed to have been behind the "false" reports of Fuggalanian attrocites.

leaked reports of Hordian shipping setting sale for Rophear had been reported. However it seems that to get to Rophear, they would have to pass a number of fleets in the area, with so many militaries out their, an accident was bound to happen.

Out at sea, a unregistered cargo vessel, bearing no markings set out on auto pilot. Upon reaching a destination directly inbetween the Hordian shipping and two large unaligined fleets, it dumped a cargo of over 500 magnetic mines, before sinking....
OOC: Was this me? Or someone else? No evidence suggests it was Fuggalanian....

Meanwhile fuggalania had been sourcing all the military equipment it could find, and as luck would have it, a forgotten base belonging to Fuggalanias precursor "Fuggolia" had been discovered.
Within it were found 25 Vulcan tactical bombers and a large munitions dump. Including some unidentified nerve toxins.

On the border trenches and minefields and barbed wire had been set. Fuggalania would be true to its word and would not invade without provocation.

The proposal had been made by the Horde. The count swiftly informed his new favoured commander that it would be his honour to send word to the emperor of the horde's wishes. For permission and consideration by the emperor himself was required for such a huge change to the social structure of Rophearian society to occur. Due to its importance the magic of the oracles (radio transmitters) were used between the two great cities and soon the message from the emperor himself was received:

"My Dear Count Salamond,

Eisfallion is blessed! Your City was chosen amongst all others to stage this most glorious of events. We have no time to lose for our enemies and potential enemies unite to destroy us for the accursed rock beneath my feet. Inform Commander Hardgut that I, Emperor Benjamin De La Vega II hereby accept and agree to these terms:

All and any Hordian member may settle within any Rophearian province, city, town or village as long as full registration to the local council is submitted. As long as Rophearian laws are upholded and respect is shown for the culture of our people as we can assist in the tutoring and teaching of the horde's way to ours any and all individual may dwell here. Our laws about Rophearians shunning gunpowder have been abolished, those that wish to keep to our previous simplistic approach to warfare may keep to the sword. Those that wish to learn the new arts of war may do so. Those that fall into the latter category will be sent to the horde for instruction and the majority will be offered as reinforcements to the hordians great warriors (tigers also if they can find use for them). Those that fall into the first will be used as guardians of Rophear true, in case of foot invasion regardless of technologies are traditional armies cannot be defeated in hand to hand combat, the tiger remains STRONG in all of us. I decree that of the defeated nations that oppose us Rophear requests only 41% of the profit gained by offering the Hordians our men and more so our land for their homes. In exchange they may mine an unlimited amount of this precious rock which has caused so much grief as we would be glad to be rid of it and even gladder still to make our new allies that much more powerful! Allies! NO! BROTHERS AND SISTERS! Any who joins our great nations and dwells within finally must accept me as their emperor and submit themselves to the empire though their gods, beliefs and technologies will not be opposed merely overseen and moderated so that our way of life though it will change will not fade into the annals of past glory. Finally I must ask that a beautiful, intelligent and willing female Hordian be sent to my person to consummate our new relationship as allies of same land, I will require from her one child that may take my place as Emperor upon my death. Our blood combined will ensure this child will harbour no ill will to either race and thusly will govern our people in their and our neutral interests. Rophear is no patriarchal nation, be she female or be he male they will rule for we view our women as our equals and they serve alongside our men in every aspect of warfare to politics. I presume this won't be a problem? I submit these terms and in effect thank you from my very heart that you good peoples assistant this our empire in our time of dire need. My thanks eternally and awaiting your response. We accept the foundations of chaos... Emperor Benjamin."
The Horde Of Doom

"The Horde agrees to all terms, and Shewolf Ironclaw has been elected to be your wife. She is a fierce warrior, and has killed no less then 10,000 with her bare hands. She will bear you many sons. However she feels she must help fight, and as such can only marry after the war is over. She has chosen this. Truly you can understand that she cannot desert her fellow warriors in this dire time, and you can count on her not to only fight for her religion, her Horde, and her fellow warriors...but fr you as well."

War was on the horizon, and the Horde tripled her efforts to push the plan forward. Schedules were torn asunder and the phases were being pushed quicker. The hidden Hordian homeland sent more ships and men abroad, thier preists leading them into dark incantations as they sailed the seas. They prayed for the help of Cthuhlu, for the power of the Great Spirits of Chaos, and for Prime Chaos itself to allow them to spill blood in thier name.

A nation of billions was becoming a den of activity, a like asleep machine was awakening. Not since civil war had the Horde been so single minded, and munitions plants, ship yards, and barracks poured forth the talents and tools of war. They knew no fear, and would give no quarter. They had not only superior technology, but a religious zeal and fanatiscism that no mere bullet could stop. This was their Mecca, and it would not be dispoiled.

Cheiftans were already planning the defense of Rophear, viewed now not as an ally...but as brothers. The Fuggs would fire the first shot, as it was clear they couldn't wait for invasion. If they were smarter, they would've waited until the Horde had pulled troops out. Needless to say, thier intention was clear: Invade Rophear. The border, no matter what it looked like, was actually quite easy to burst through, and a plan had already been drawn up.

On the Coalition, it was deemed they would either land in Fugg territory and join them at the border, proposing a "Grand March" tactic, or would attempt to land on Rophear itself. The second choice was suicide, but would be prepared for anyway. The model had been run, and the only real potential threat was New Nicksyllvania. They were large, larger then the Horde, and satellites showed they had mobolized a sizable force. The Horde then would be fighting a multiple doctrine war. The Fuggs and the Soviets would be outnumbered, while Nick's would be defeated through superior technology. Word had also spread that the Soviets and Fuggs and chemical weapons...at this the Horde merely laughed. They thought they had weapons? The Horde had been producing and perfecting chemical AND biological weapons since thier creation. If the Fuggs wished to see thier homeland become nothing but a wasteland, so be it.

Nukes were always on call.

Phase 1 would reach Rophear in 1 day, and the battlegroup was quite prepared. The ships were alive with activity, hymns and prayers breaking free from the hulls. Weapons were checked and rechecked, armor systems were checked to be all operational, and vechicles and tanks were given tune ups before the Big Day. What a glorious war this would be! Deep below the decks of the ships, the secret weapons of the Horde raved and banged thier heads against thier cells. They were simple minded, but knew blood would be coming....and blood was all they lived for. They were men, naked men, with fierce animal like eyes. They felt no pain and were obsessed with killing. They were the Bezerkers, and before the war was over, each nation would know thier name.

Phase 2 was almost ready to shipoff, and in days would be on the water(OOC: Later tonight).

OOC: Will you require a map from me my friend? I have the following resources that may aid us in the epic battle.

61,000 men wish to be trained with new technology from the horde to act as reinforcements.
2800 of my finest guards wish to act as bodyguards to your most valued individuals.
1210 tiger riders are at your disposal... technological? No. But they have been trained to kill without mercy and like your beserkers mere bullets rarely stop them before they reach their mark.
237 "assasins" bow and arrows perhaps, but their poisoned tips always kill when they hit their mark which they undoubedly do...

OOOC:
Ahem, my applogies for my lack of posting, but i feel we are perhaps moving on a little too swiftly

The Horde Of Doom:
That deployment time is quite simply far too fast, yes i understand the nature of NS and the soemtiems fliud locations but unless you are right next door a naval deployment should take at least week, of course once you fleet is within a day of Rophear it will be in rnage for soem of my longer ranged weapons and to land your units on Rophear you will need to try and break through said fleet. Oh and are your airships still teathered/sitting on the ground/circling about?

Rophear: Did Grimor bother his backside to attend the "metting" on board my flag ship? If so then he likely got a chance to see so very choice film footage from the Land of Khornate tribes that demostrates quite nciely why makign freinds with chaos is a very BAD idea.

IC:
When Crookfur Signals intellgence assets picked up the communications between the Rophear administration and the deviate Hordists the situation suddenly became clear, the foul diesease of chaos had claimed another victim and unless the nation's tainted flesh was excised things would only get worse. Initally a request for renforcements was dispatched asking for the mobilisation of at least 1 additional Battle Fleet Group (BFG) to accompany 2 Marine Combat Groups and for the airforce to make ready at least 3 Expeditionary Air Wings for deployment to Fuggalanian airbases and bring the Strategic forces to full alert. All in all it would take at least a week or so for the deployments to arrive in theatre but the local commanders were confident they could hold out until then.

Once the requests had been made the Crookfur fleet began to deploy into psotions blocking hordian movements towards Rophear and those fighters that had been making a point of revealing thier presence suddenly shifted thier manouvers into far more tactical behavior.

OOC:

Just to clear a few things up.

I have dumped some mines on the Rophearian coast as stated earlier. All friendly fleets will be given the position and deactivation codes of these devices.
Fuggalania shall be concentrating mainly on land and air warfare due to a relatively new navy. Im assuming the forces of Sovistan will be at least intitally, bolstering border defences.
I assume that New Nicksyllvania will be joining Crookfur in blockading the Rophearian coast.
No endorse if its forces join our side would possibly wish to do the same?

Doom- these airships, are they helium or hydrogen?
all for now.

I do assume that the bulk of the horde has not yet reached Rophear, however the current forces would still cause a problem.

Thats Ok i kind of got ahead of myself as the timeline has gotten more than a little screwy as in the space of time it took to send boat to fetch Grimor, the horde arrived, had several large parades, conducted a fair bit of diplomacy and now has a fleet on its way.

You may not want war and i fully intended to save you from such but when you start thowing an allaince with an openly chaotic nation into the mix then Crookfur will get very jumpy.

Perhaps to sort things out time wise could we assume that Grimor is abord the Crookfur Flagship whilst your emperor is talking to the Hordians.

IC:

Leftenant Green stood crisply to attention on the receiving deck as he watched the captain's jig nose into the small boat dock under the massive vaulted arch that joined the Main and port secondary hulls of the Harald Campbell, he never ceased to feel a sense of awe when he stood in this part of the ship the "ceiling" illustrated the sheer size and power of the vessel even more than it's mighty guns ever could.
Shortly the bosun's pipes shrilled to anounce the arrival of the Ambassador and the young marine leftenant turned his attention to the man progessing up the gangway.
"Ambasador Grimor sir, Welcoem aboard the Harald Campbell, I am Leftenant Green of His Majesties Royal Marines and it is my honor to welcome you and be your escort for the duration of your stay. Admiral Johnston sends his compliments and his regrets that he cannot greet you in person, he also asks if you would be kidn enough to join him and the other flag officers for dinner this evening. Now if you will follow me i will escort you to your cabin and when you are ready from there to conferance room 4 where Captain Morgan and Colonel Anderson shall attend an initial breifing and discussion with you.

OOC:

My apologies I may not have made it clear, I hoped you would view my emissary upon your vessel whilst the events on Rophear true were unfolding. I fully understand your jumpy nature at this our new alliance and you should be, the horde are a powerful people... however! My nation was viewed as barbarians for merely existing peacefully and rejecting the invention of gunpowder, devices of mass destruction. The horde has offered us nothing but friendship, they have shown nothing but respect and co-habitation of Rophear has been agreed upon because we believe we can respect one another's cultures and benefit one another. No longer is Rophear defenseless! I would say they do not openly want war and act only to defend a nation they see as their equals, brothers, sisters. That said the hostile actions being undertaken are not our doing... we merely are preparing for this seeming war! I ask you, who is the real savages here?

IC:

Grimor: "Left... hmmm, I shall call you green as I am unsure what your title entails my friend."

Grimor ajusts his robe of dark furs and skins tightly around his narrow shoulders, his cold eyes observe the leftenant before the pale figure allows a cough and considers the recent words spoken again.

Grimor: "This admiral whose title i do recognise of the navy indeed has my pardon on his lack of physicality at this time and it would be my honour to join you... gentlemen? Is your nation patriarchal? It is our custom to discover this fact before we engage in politics... Rophear frowns upon one sex rising above the other but if need be I shall join you regardless...

...yes my new chambers would be most welcome. I will rest for a short time if that is acceptable, this dinner is foreign to me... however if it entails eating so much the better, I'm famished! Don't let my sleek figure fool you green, i like a good feast! If you have it i will take veal, and one fish also. I must rest! Please now my friend... take me to this place where i may sleep..."
The Horde Of Doom

OOC: I have good reason why they should be so fast, and thats the structure of my nation. Fleets are always floating around, acting as pirates. So all I have to do is say "hey, come on down for a big war." I just add to thier crews. I always have my ships floating about, and since I haven't been at war for awhile, they've been neara to my coasts.

As for airships, 40% helium 60% Hydrogen, and this mix allows them to not pull a "hindenberg." They just gracefully fall. They are on the ground, but as you can expect my troops have been fortifing the entire time. I will postpone Phase 1, but only for diplomacy and others to join. Also a map would be very helpful, maybe even city locations? And Fuggalania, when did you lay mines on the coast...thats an act of war everyone would have noticied. Can I also get a general idea of whose on what side and where thier units are? This is going to be a tough battle, so I can't wait, but I would at least like to know where Crookfur stands.

IC:
61,000 men wish to be trained with new technology from the horde to act as reinforcements.
2800 of my finest guards wish to act as bodyguards to your most valued individuals.
1210 tiger riders are at your disposal... technological? No. But they have been trained to kill without mercy and like your beserkers mere bullets rarely stop them before they reach their mark.
237 "assasins" bow and arrows perhaps, but their poisoned tips always kill when they hit their mark which they undoubedly do...

To all others, they would have seemed useless, but to the Horde, they were wonderful. now they were sure they had the upper hand: None fought harder then those defending thier people. Phase 1 was to help train these troops in guns, and train them in modern warfare and guerilla tactics. The guards would become elite commandos, and would be trained as such. The tiger riders would be added to the Bezerkers...and would be given several mushrooms and elixers to help them become more like mobile Bezerkers. The assasins were to be given special locations to patrol, and to screw with enemy lines.

It was becoming clear the fight would be a hard one, but the Horde still had faith. Crookfur was a wildcard, and there was a chance the Horde may have to blast thier way through.

Meanwhile, Phase 2 had been slowed down greatly, as the logistical ships now hadc to take on the role of minesweeper....and they weren't very good at it. 34 ships had been lost in total of the 40 that attempted to get rid of the mines...but they did get rid of them. The fleet believed they were a full day behind now, and were ordered to get there as fast as possible.

ooc: ....you can't use a sub to crush mines with pressure, the sub crunches first. And to get in range to use empty tubes to set the mines off with overpressure, you're so close that the magnets can engage, and if you succeed, you're setting them off mere meters from the bow of your sub, in the incompressible medium that is water. Sub goes crunch like a coke can.

Anyways, I'm assuming your fleet is moving sorta parallel to mine, and we're moving in towards the Rophear coast.

IC:
"Admiral Jackson, we have a contact, bearing similar to our own. The IFF system doesn't recognize them to be anyone we know."

The admiral leaned over the glowing cathode, peering at the moving contacts. "It's the Horde.... is this a Sky Top feed?" "No, a bird, one of NES War Hound's. She's up with the advance force of Second Fleet."

He looked again at the force numbers. "And you're sure this is accurate? Just fifty carriers? Nothing else but transports?"

The senior sensory officer flipped a few switches, and a segment of text appeared on the glowing monitor. "Well, SATCOM shows an indeterminable number of submarines, those logistics vessels are churning the water up too much for an accurate estimate. However, best guess is at least fifty highly active unique readings."

Jackson grinned and turned to the rest of his command crew. "The winds are with us this day, gentlemen. Signal the fleet to prepare for battle. We are to strike the instant we are given provocation, understood? And I want submarine sweeps up there yesterday, if you please." He continued to smile in the flurry of action that followed, readying the fleets for combat. For No Endorse, right or wrong, and is she not always right?

Rophear: its cool, i am sorry for my confusion. As for Savagry and freindship, Crookfur would offer you nothing but respect as there are parts of Crookfur that live, by choice, lives not far removed from your own and normally i would have no issues with the Horde, but Crookfur has been fighting the forces of chaos for the past 700-800years and while not quite at the stage of the 40k Imperium (i.e. wiping out an entire planet's population of trillions just to remove the taint of less than 1% of the population) Crookfur would find itself forced into a full scale invasion. Perhaps i assume too much knowledge of the games workshop Warhammer fantasy and scifi universes and for that i can but appologise.

The Horde Of Doom:
My fleet is currently sitting between your phase 1 deployment and Rophear, ready to unleash hell on it as soon as it comes within 500km. The fleet consists of about 500 odd comabt vessel of various sizes, including Dreadnoughts. As to what side Crookfur is on, well we just want Rophear and Fuggalania to kiss and make up and offer Rophear our protection but you see we are ardent choas haters (think the imperium of man if it was run by freindly left wing prodestant templars, yes it confuses me too) so we can't do much than attempt to put you down, hard.

IC:
The Young officer began leading the Ambbasdor through the myriad passeges of the flagship and replied amiably:
"Green works perfectly fine with me, we do on occasion use a slightly more formal term but it would be amiss of me to impose a correction. As to The Colonel and Captain, yes they are both male but that is merely a result of chance, the Crookfur Armed Forces engage in a positive endorsment of equal oppurtunities although women still make up a minority of our personnel for various reasons.

It was remis of of me to forget that not all peoples use the same words and phrases we do so i must beg your pardon and answer that, yes dinner reffers to our evening meal and i shall see to it that your requests are passed to the Admiral's cheif steward."

Comming to a halt in from of yet another nondescript door in a nondescript passageway, the Leftenant nodded to the soldier standing outside the door and pushed it open to reveal a small but confortably furnished stateroom (probabaly decorated in a scottish baronial style i.e. wood panneled walls etc).
"These, are your quarters for the duration of your stay, you should find refreshments inside alogn with a selection of refference works to aide you in getting to know more about Crookfur and our history. If you need anything, the sergent here," He indicated the soldier standing stiffly to attention beside the door, "Will be right outside your door and shall endevor to assit you in any way he can, when you feel ready to meet Captain Morgan and Colonel Anderson please let the Sergent know and i shall arrange everything. And now if you have no further need of my services i shall bid you good day and allow you to rest."

OOC: Edited the mine thing, and are you going to attack Phase 1 or Phase 2? By now Phase 1 should be far more closer then Rophear then you, with thier shore in sight(they land today) so I'm assuming it's Phase 2. Will post when I can get confirmation.

ooc: Seeing as I deployed my fleets before Phase 1 hit the water, there's only one of your fleets close enough to Rophear to likely be within my Radar coverage, aye? Plus, we're not slowed down by hundreds of logistic vessels.

And Crookfur I am not like the 40k chaos...imagine the huns mixed with the native americans. We're more of a doomsday cult. And I'm all for peace, but so far NOBODY has attempted to show me anything but the barrel of a gun. Perhaps if you actually tried to communicate with me, we could understand each other better? Together we could save Rophear you know.

OOC: Well ICly Crookfur really doesn't care about what form your chaos worship takes, if you keep yourselves to yourselves we generally avoid you but once you start "interfering" then steps have to be taken to stop the spread of the "taint". I really had hoped to avoid any conflcit here but when chaos of any kind gets involved i can;t avaoid it with seriously wreckign Crookfur's IC background.

Perhaps there might be a compromise:
If say you were perhaps a little less obvious with the chaos worship side of thigns Crookfur might not notice immediately and we could perhaps move thign from an open war RP into a smaller courtly intrigue/espionage conflcit/ shadow war as we both try to influence the Rophearians and try to oust each other without going into a full scale war, which Crookfur would rather avoid because of the effects on local civilians and you might want to avoid in order to prevent Crookfur discovering why you are so interested in Rophear and possibly destrying the tomb/shrine/whatever of the "5th god".

Or we can go straight to full scale war but i woudl rather leave that until my crappya ttempts at diplomacy with Rophear are concluded.

OOC:
I perhaps should have noted the private communications device each diplomatic suite has which basically looks like a large and complicated phone and piggy backs on to the ship's own coms systems, it is completely private but if the Ambassador feels particulary paranoid then as the sergeant mentioned there are small dedicated private radio rooms in the ship's main communications area.

OOC: Time I posted in character. Im gonna assume Im in the talks on the Crookfurian vessel.

IC: Lord Valtan and his entorage boarded the large warship. He was impressed, but this did not show on his face. After greeting the Crookfurian commander, he was shown to his quarters to wait until the proceedings got underway.
With him he brought Fuggalanias demands and consessions.
Although the council were still working on the specifics. Fuggalania wanted the Horde gone, and soon. Althought the Uranium mines were of value to Fuggalania, Rophear was home to something far greater.
(OOC: this has been cleared with Rophear).

In the distant past Fuggalania and Rophear were part of ancient fuggolia, a powerful nation of billions. Also a nation of vast military power.
It seemed that somewhere on the Rophearian side of the border was on old Fuggolian Command Centre, with access to a device known only as Zeus....

Valtan was descussing this information with his command in secret. However something was tapping in....Valtan could sense it. He cut the communication. He hoped he'd been wrong, but perhaps the secret of his governments aggression could have been discovered....
What ZEUS was, Fuggalania wasn't sure, but now its existance, if not its purpose could have got out.....

On the Border Fuggalania was preparing her forces for the worst.
F-8CF fighters flew along the border, keeping out of range of Hordian air defenses....

Atal Amner looked up at the strategic readouts once again, chuckling to himself. So Doom was sending its carrier force directly at the positions of the No Endorse and Crookfur fleets? Well, no sense in wasting ammunition on it as of yet, let's let Crookfur open fire. He touched the "big board" a few times and it centered on the Rophear coast. Already, the positions of the Fuggalanian mines had been entered, as well as all the numerous coastal defense sites that SATCOM could find. The First and Second Tactical Fleets were almost there, with Fourth Amphibious right on their heels.

He was more than ready to signal the go ahead to the fleet, but there was one thing preventing that. The damned Crookfur fleet stood right on the Rophear shoreline, ensuring that No Endorse couldn't claim strategic control and limit external interference in this war. But no matter. There were other items to attend to.

Violet and her friends were hosting yet another ball, this one in Carranda upon Tyne of all places, and he still hadn't gone through "the motions." Ah, the joys of drawing up a menu, changing it at the last minute, and killing the host for being unable to complete the change to his satisfaction.... It was simply how things had to be done.

But before that, there was one more item that deserved at least some attention. He brushed a stack of papers off his desk and into a shredder, and brought up the transmission from Panido. "NATO fighter type fourteens, do they say? And one hundred thousand peons to attempt to hold the ground? This is most terribly indecorous...."

Salutations to my brothers in arms in Panido!
It has recently come to my attention that you wish to weigh in on the little incident we have brewing between the nations of Rophear and Fuggalania. Well, I can assure you that the situation is quite under control, there is no need to trouble yourself with the happenings here.

You see, we are about to facilitate the glorious concepts of evolution in these two small areas. The nation of Rophear is about to become the ultimate temple for the worship of modern science, and the beauty of justice. Too long has the government of Rophear oppressed its people, grinding them into the dust of ignorance and inferiority. For too long have they shunned the light of society, the glory of knowledge, and the beauty of truth. But now, Fuggalania has bravely stepped up to the plate in order to raise their backwards neighbors higher than their own self-induced hell could ever imagine.

Again, there is no need to be worried about the process, it is merely a natural occurrence. There will soon be three No Endorse fleets on station to facilitate the process. The presence of your forces will merely necessitate our intervention and slow the process dramatically, making it far more deadly than is necessary. How can you pretend to be protecting Rophear, when your actions will merely keep them in their horridly inferior conditions? Do what is right, and facilitate the raising of Rophear by Fuggalania.

Aaaaand.... signed twice for good measure! There we go! "Miss Vickers? I have something I'd like you to fax......"

===================================

Just as Amner put down his quill pen, Admiral Jackson finished dictating a dispatch to the Crookfur forces in the area. There would be no fighting unless necessary.... he knew both sides would take terrible losses before the day was done if there was any. And while one needed a sadistic twinge to even think about the glorious armed forces of the Military Junta, there was a definite line between sadism and just plain insanity. The communications officer nodded that everything was present, and sent the message on its way.

OOC: ok Phase 1 is here

IC: Phase 1 had finally reached the shores of Rophear and her flag was hoisted high in the air. Troops were eager to get thier feet on the ground and begin, but were quite suprised to find No Endorse sitting there. The warriors abaord the ships had been left clueless, and they were rather perplexed. Allies or enemies, friend or foe?

The truth was, even the Horde didn't know.

A message was quickly dispatached by the fleet to both No Endorse and Crookfur, both electronically and over megolithic loudspeakers that could be heard on shore.

"This is Horidan Fleet number 57834, repeat, Hordian Fleet number 57834. Our presence has been requested by the Emperor of Rophear to ensure the continued safety of his nation. Please, identify yourselves."

Even as the ships blared the message, the fleet moved farther south down the penninsula, to a less....crowded area. All plans were moving as usual, and the ships were preparing to land. It was in this southern area that a small group of Hordian warriors that had already been on the ground would greet them, giving a small breifing to the men. All and all it was viewed as a quite normal affair, and Phase 2 would be here tommorow. Already they had been told to go around the "assembled" fleets, just for added safety. Even though Crookfur seemed to want piece, they had made no contact whatsoever with the Horde, and this made them nervous.

Word had been spread on the Hordian homeland that Panido would be coming to the aide of the Rophear as well, and secretly the Tribal Cheifs sighed a breath of relief, thankful they alone didn't have to bear such a burden. It amazed them still that Crookfur was seemingly oblivious to the massive buildup that was being commited by Fuggalania. Tanks, artillery, troops...al just waiting. And Crookfur just sat there. Was it stupidity or something...darker?

Many of the captains began to wonder if Crookfur was working for Fuggalania afterall. It would be a wonderful ploy, stop other groups from coming to the aid of Rophear in the name of "diplomacy" while thier friend could further prepare for war. The seed of doubt had been planted, and only time would tell if it germinated into a hideous weed.

Panido: my main concerns would be the logisitcal issues surrounding your deployments, in particular the apparent lack of prepared airstrips within Rophear, which for all i know may well exist. I would preffer soem sort of explantation about how you intend to deploy your personnel but i can live with soemthing as simple as "by air" if all you intend to commit are light troops.

As for the rest of us, I am proabably going to have to call a time out, this diplomacy type stuff is happening at the about the same time the intial Horde representitives were talking to Rophear so is about at least 2 days behind the "main action" and i can't really make a decent psot concerning actions and reactions of the arival of various fleets until this get sorted. I understand that it is a huge pain in the arse but proabably quite important as if the talks go one way then i likely made an attempt to blow the horde fleet out of the water when it reached the mine field and if they go one of the other myrid possible ways then thigns would fo coruse be different.

Sergeant Mitchell, had to take an invisisble mental grip of himself, "feck, these neobarbs are iritating! but one must maintain the decorum of the service and the nation!" Raged the arguement inside his head as he stepped into the Ammbassador's cabin.
"Certainly Sir and allow me to applogise for any inconveince, now first you select what type of broad cast you wish using this switch here, punch the desired frequency or channel in here and finally pick up the hand set to begin your transmission." he instructed, his voice and manner never anything but properly respectful although there was a slight hint of senior NCO informing a junior officer why calling fire on those coordinates might not be a terribly good idea.

"If that is satisfactory then i shall take my leave and clsoe the door behind me.Leftenant Green shall be waiting when you are finished."

Starboard Side, The Harald Campbell

Lord Valtan, first metting would be with Commanders Fredrick and Hackney, Fredrick of the Admiral's staff and Hackney of the fleet intellgence group, they would first take note of the Fuggalanian psotiona nd concerns before offering an initial cosnideration fot he situation from the Crookfur point of veiw.

A small problem might be that if you were to use Nimitz sized Aircraft carriers and strip them of planes to use the aircrew accomodation and hangers decks for troops you would need 20 of them (assuming a very cramped 5000troops per aircraft carrier) plus another 3-5 carriers for your aircraft which would make your escort fleet disasterously small for its responsibilities, si i woudl either educe the troop complamanet, shift some of them to chartered civil jetliners (if possible) or vastly increase your escort fleet size.

Allied Fleet Zone
1200 hours

The waves gently lapped up against the Imperial Whyatican fleet as it slowed to a halt, 5 nautical miles off the side of the No Endorse fleet.

"Captain, there appears to be a hostile fleet right in front of the formation." a sensor officer said to Captain Zapp Brannigan, who was picking at his teeth mindlessly.

"Captain?" the sensor officer said again, which got Brannigan up with a start.

"What, what what is it?"

"There's a hostile fleet some miles ahead of the allied formation. Orders?"

"Err..um..Open fire!" Zapp yelled, causing everyone to shield their ears - and eyes, as he stood up, forgetting to pull a bit of his traditional skirt up.

"Captain, you do realize that this is going to spark an international war, disrupting the economies of several nations and possibly killing millions of innocents? Destruction for the sake of destruction is morally wrong!" a random seaman said, as he dusted off a bulkhead.

"Toss that man overboard!" Brannigan pointed, yelling at a guard to take him away. Four guards sighed, grabbed the protesting sailor by his arms and legs, and walked off the bridge. They didn't intend to toss the man overboard, they were just going to put a disguise on him and let him return to duty. Captain Brannigan always forgot who he executed, and he wouldn't be any the wiser given a day or so.

"Anyway..Order all submarines to open fire with a full salvo against their aircraft carriers, arsenal ships fire torpedoes in a delta-four pattern against their submerged units. All other surface vessels to red alert, engage defensive measures and arm our main guns. We're going to chase them out of here, gents. Send a message to the No Endorse and Aralonian fleets, arm for coordinated strikes at the transports." Zapp said, suddenly falling into a deep command-trance, actually being competent for once in his life.

The resting machinery on the gun-mounts of the mighty Nimbus awakened, pointing in the general direction of the Horde fleet as rangefinding gear began complex calculations to determine where best to strike to damage enemy ships. Submarines dove, already having their needed tactical information, preparing to unload ordinance at the Hordies. The Imperial fleet, beginning normal maneuvers, set itsself into a tiered ring, with all aspects of approach covered by escorts, centred around the flagships, the Nimbus and a monstrous carrier, the Richard J. Powers. Thousands of marines were alerted by the fleetwide communications, and armed themselves for a possible landing on the Rophear shore.

On the Nimbus, Captain Brannigan said, "Communications, send a message on an open channel to the Horde of Doom fleet."

"Channel open."

"Your lease on that patch of sea has expired." Brannigan said, flipping up a panel with a comically large 'Fire!!' button on it. He hesitated for a second, and pressed the button, which confirmed the orders to fire across the fleet.

A deafening roar ensued for miles around as, as one, the Imperial fleet opened fire on the unsuspecting Hordites. Dozens of sub-launched torpedoes, spread in a pattern as to avoid counter-fire, streaked underneath the seas, targetted at the Horde submarines, joined by many more anti-ship missiles, pointed in the direction of the aircraft carriers, which were fired by the arsenal ships.

Just another day on NS Earth.

After gazing at it for a secound, the hairman begain.
"Gentlemen, it seems our allies of "Whyatica" have taken shots at the Hordian fleet, it would seem logical that the Horde will follow in kind. I believe we must strike now, It has been suggested that we wait until Crookfur can be brought into the battle on our side but surely the Horde will strike all forces not directly allied with them. Their hand will likely be forced and Valtan shall say so.
"Gentlemen, I prepose a swift strike on the border postions to "Rattle the Sabres".
The others nodded.
"Then it is agreed, the Vulcans and Thunderchiefs will be launched against the border forces.
Later that day, a squadron of Vulcans and two of Thunderchiefs wit top cover from Crusaders launched from their bases.

If our existance makes us targets because we choose peaceful existance free of gunpowder and mass destruction, a way which because of YOU begins to faulter then you are no better than a fox who kills every single chicken... just because he can and the chickens cant fight back. YOU MAKE ME SICK, ALL OF YOU!"

The negotiations had begun. The veal was nothing like the tender meat of Rophear and the unsavoury taste lingered in the emissary's palette. The fish however was excelent, fresh and light served with some kind of green fruit dressing. The first hour or so was mere tittle tattle, introductions and pleasantries but then it happened someone let slip all too soon the knowledge commonly known with the exception of Grimor...

Grimor: "WHAT! Whyatica HAS ATTACKED THE HORDE NAVY! Fuggalania PLANS to attack THE HORDE? HOW can there be any possibility of PEACE when actions of WAR have already been carried out against our allies? YOU BOUGHT THIS UPON YOURSELF! ALL OF YOU! WHAT DID ROPHEAR DO TO PROVAKE THIS COMMING CARNAGE? I ASK YOU?

OOC: Wouldn't Whyatica's attack have happened in the future? i.e. after the various Crookfur negotiations.

Guys this is why i asked for a time out until Rophear and I had finished and the timeline would get back on track.

Instead.

IC:

Lord Valtan waited in his chamber for the Crookfurian's to escort him to the confrence hall. His eyes looked with Grimors all other souls in the room could feel a chill down their spines as the Fuggalanian and Rophearian locked cold hard stares...
Valtan was good foot taller then Grimor, wearing a leather trenchcoat and tailored suit, he looked more like a spy or assassin then a diplomat....

Due to the incredibly rude behavior of Fuggalania (or whatever the hell fools name you have), all weapons on there way to your nation have been turned around. Consider delievery of your free weapons canceled, have a good day!
