The ferry began to begin docking at the largest Utik village which was famous for ancient ruins and because it was on a small island, the ferry was used to ferry foreigners and white Anoriv citizens over to the island to view the ancient ruins. With the ferry docked, several dozen foreigners and Anoriv citizens walked off the boat and the ferry engines were cut off as it was not going to an 45 minutes before the ferry would take off with foreigners and Anoriv citizens back to the mainland.

Even though most people on the island heard about the incident with regards to the treatment plant. The tensions hadn't carried over to the island of most Utik people and therefore people kept coming to the island to look at the ruins.

Three Utik men walked onto the ferry along with several early foreigners who wanted to get a seat before they would leave for the mainland. Once the three Utik indigenous men entered into the ferry, they pulled rifles and ordered ship crew and civilians to drop to the floor. Three crewmen and 4 civilians lay on the ground and two of the gunmen headed to the bridge and ordered another ten people to the center of the ship, four of them were crewmen and an additional 6 civilians.

After ten minutes, the crew and civilians that were onboard the ship were detained by the three Utik gunmen and in total it was;

11 crewmen (9 Anoriv, 2 foreign)
20 civilians (13 foreigners, 7 Anoriv)

Message by Utik gunmen:

We demand that the Anoriv government ends its barricades around traditional Utik land on the mainland. There will be no men from the Utik community that will go to white man prison. If anyone is killed in that standoff a foreigner will be killed.

OOC: Does anyone want to have foreigner citizens being held by the Utik gunmen. And does anyone want to roleplay those foreign citizens.

The elderly man of Aleutian descent, an American-Indian ancestry looked at the three armed men and raised his hands in the air and laid on his stomach. His name was Marcus Dubba and he was 47 and had come to this place to take a look at the ancient ruins and meet with a Utik son in-law. He kept his eyes down from the three gunmen and he did as he was told. Having his hands tied behind his back he kept his eyes down and whispered to a young woman;

"Keep quiet and do what they say and you will be fine."

Official Message to Outside world by Anoriv Foreign Affairs:

Today, Utik men that are believed associated with a Utik dispute in the mainland of Anoriv have taken over a ferry. From what we have been told from local Utik police, the citzens of the island and the kidnappers themselves 31 people have been taken hostage, and we have had one foreign nation identify one of the 15 foreign nationals on board the ship. We as other nations to step forward and inform the Anoriv government if they have nationals on the ship as well.

We want to end this hostage taking peacefully and a Anoriv Indigenous diplomat is arriving shortly with a small armed SWAT team if the situation goes bad and we ask for assistance or expertise from other member-states that may have had to deal with this situation before.

To Anoriv government:

We are shocked and disturbed that one of our citizens have been taken hostage by terrorists. However, being an indigenous dominant nation we understand what the Utik people are going through and understand that the Utik people are in the right in this issue. We will continue to wait this issue and make sure our citizen is not hurt or killed.

Aleutian Islands Foreign Diplomat to Anoriv;

Marcus Dubba with the other captives were in the second day of the kidnapping. So far no government officials had made a move and Marcus did not know if they had made any action at all. The kindnappers were getting nervious and tired and had already smacked a crew man with one of their rifles leaving a large swelled area around the man's eye.

A small zodiac boat with a Anoriv diplomat arrived with a small detachment of policeofficers near the ferry that had 31 hostages and three Utik gunmen on it. The diplomat got off the boat and headed to a police command center just 300 meters away from the ship.

"So do we know anything about these men."

Yes, these men are unemployed, have been unemployed for awhile and all sources indicate that they are very pro-Utik and Nationalist in an Indigenous sense."

"I see."

The diplomat blew out the breath he had been holding and wondered what he was going to do.

The three gunmen could see that a diplomat had arrived from the mainland. They had also heard about violence that had occured on the mainland that had injuried several Utik people. Angered they had hit a crewman in the face and now the man had a laceration and a black eye.

Another statement was released by the three gunmen:

Today violence has occured on the mainland. We demand that the Anoriv government be held accountable for its actions and not standing up for its U.N oblegations and we demand safe passage to another nation. We will then release the hostages their.

OOC: anyone want to have their foreigners or make a statement.

Ersella Parica had enjoyed her trip to this island. It was thousands of miles from her home in Reloria but she had heard much of its spectacular ruins and scenery. Something which a historical research professor at Mukasus University simply couldn't pass up. Ever since the independence of Reloria and the opening of the borders there had been a great many opportunities such as this to study the history and ruins of other cultures, and she had made it her personal mission to see as much of it as she could.

So far her trip had been going well; she'd spent some time on the island, photographed the ruins and made some notes on its most important structures. She'd also seen a few artefacts here and there which she documented. She hadn't done much relaxing on her trip, but that wasn't why she was here - this was a research expedition funded by the university, not a holiday. With the ruins and the related artefacts thoroughly catalogued and photographed, she made her way back to the ferry where she intended to spend some time reviewing her data during the voyage back.

She hadn't long been back aboard the ship when three men, apparently natives of the island or something - she wasn't familiar with the present political situation, only the past ones - jumped up and began waving guns around. She wasn't especially fluent in foreign languages, and even at the best of times she could barely understand a word said in non-Relorian, but in this instance she didn't have much of a problem with comprehension.

She immediately dropped to the floor and put her hands over her head. It was a childlike, naive belief perhaps, but blocking out the noises made her believe in some small way that it wasn't happening.

Greetings to whomever it may concern,

It saddens me that we must speak for the first time under these circumstances, but we do what we must. I am the Matriarch of the Constitutional Matriarchy of Reloria, and I understand that at present your nation is dealing with a terrorist attack on at least one ocean going vessel. I trust that you have people dealing with this situation, and that you are doing it as safely as possible.

I also understand that there is at least one Relorian citizen involved in this incident. For this reason the Relorian government and myself have taken a vested personal interest in this situation, and we would like to offer help in resolving the situation in whatever way we can.

I hope that this situation can be solved quickly and without bloodshed, and I look forward to hearing your response.

One of the three Utik gunmen looked at the passengers. The other two were looking out the window as a diplomat from the Anoriv government arrived along with one police officer who had no weaponry on him. As the young diplomat entered onto the ship the police officer went back to the police position at the docks near the ferry.

"I am a negotiator for the Anoriv government, my name is Danies Miles and I would like to negotiate a safe return of these citizens. I know you don't want any violence to occur and we can understand that."

Gunman one stated;

"We will continue to hold these hostages until the other settlement on the mainland is recognized. Until that time we will not release them."

Danies shook his head;

"I have a police unit outside that has orders to come in. People may be hurt" the gunmen tensed, "however, if you give me one foreigner release one foreigner I can show that progress is ongoing in this three day standoff."

The gunman nodded and indicated for a middle-aged indigenous looking person to leave.

Government of Anoriv:

We ask the Reloria government to possibly send a negotiator to deal with the release of the Relorian citizen. We have a young diplomat negotiating with the hostage takers right now, and early reports indicate that one of the 31 hostages are about to be released, but we are not able to cope with these kinds of situation, we haven't the expertise and we ask for a Relorian negotiator.

The Anoriv diplomat met with the three Utik gunmen again. With the release of the Aleutian Island man who was now safe under police protection, the Anoriv diplomat wanted to have the other ones released and deal with the main issue of these three Utik gunmen. The diplomat had been informed of the violence that had occured at a train attack and how Anoriv authorities were dealing with that other attack.

"Please release some of the other hostages."

The three gunmen nodded and picked two young children and a Anoriv citizen their mother, all three of them Anoriv and told them to leave. They all quickly left down the ramp and into waiting police arms. 4 people had been freed and 27 people were still being held hostage by the three armed men. At least, no one had been killed in these incidents.
