Ceyol

Essentially, this is going to be a character/mafia rp that takes place in the former nation of Ceyolia, which is recovering from a large civil war and a brutal war with several foreign powers. There is very little left of the former Ceyolia, save the capitol city of Ceyol and the surrounding arable countryside.
Ceyol itself is a large city with the majority of the population living barely above the poverty line. There is a large and widely ineffectual government that has dabbled unsuccesfully with socialism, which has created artificial price increases for many goods, combined with the aggressive tax system, has created a large black market. Ceyol is also a large producer and consumer of drugs, so there is plenty of room for foreign crime organizations.
The story will begin with the murder of a foreign official (need a volunteer here, there is a catch to having your nation's representative here, which I will discuss via telegram feature). I do not wish to reveal too much of where I wil go with this, but I see it moving towards a coup. If there is interest, I will create a list of influential figures in Ceyol and their interests/obvious connections.

Important people:
President Owen Kirk- Honest, well-intending but aging leader of The Free City. While his leadership did see the end of the war, his economic and social policies have left much to be desired. His own party is infighting, leaving him helpless to fight corruption in the government.
Steward Lars Wylie- Leader of the Teamsters Union of Ceyol, and ex-logistical manager during the civil wars. His appointment to power was scene as a way to reward his service to his country, but his management of labor has been riddled with various scandals. It was exposed that he was using the pension funds' to finance his own business endeavors, including the purchase of several newspapers and TV stations. He has been succesful in deflecting most criticism, however a corruption case is being built against him.
Spiro the Acrobat- Ringleader of l'Cirque d' Ceyol, famous trapeze artist for his gravity-defying feats. He also was a contract-killer, using the strength and pain tolerance he developed at the Circus to his aid. His money has been reinvested in creating his own illicit business. Still feared by many. Few have ever seen him without his stage makeup.
