To open this communique I feel obliged to inform you that 'hydrogen bombs' are, in fact, nuclear weapons. For the so-called Minister of Defence of an entire nation to not know such an utterly basic piece of military information regarding some of the most dangerous weapons ever created, I have to question the logic of anybody selling you even fireworks, much less thermonuclear devices.

Secondly I have to wonder what use you could have for such despicable devices. They are expensive, they are hazardous to yourself as well as to your enemies, they cause unbelievably negative environmental issues, and most importantly of all, they can only be used to cause the deaths of large numbers of innocents. Of all the things a nation could be remembered for, operating a nuclear weapons program is one of the worst.

Finally, instead of wasting your budget on these despicable weapons of mass destruction, of which you will not be able to afford enough to make a significant tactical dent in some much larger nations anyway, might I suggest that instead you spend it on effective anti-nuclear technology? Shelters for your people, means to shoot down incoming intercontinental ballistic missiles and the like? In the long run, such technology would be much more useful to you and to your people than a nuclear weapon ever could.

I hope you see the light and steer clear of this self-destructive course. When you do, feel free to contact us again to establish positive diplomatic relations.

It seems that some members of this alliance are getting themselves into futile wars that are doing nothing to benefit us as a whole.
