OOC: In most NS RPs, there are not many chances to write about the every day happenings in Cotenshire. This thread will contain articles from newspapers from different parts of Cotenshire. They will usually concern one of the many violent crimes that occur in the turbulent environment of Cotenshire, as that is what most newspapers write about. This thread is completely open, feel free to respond if you want.

This article was printed today in the Dumfries Observer, a Catholic newspaper located in the town of Dumfries. It highlights a particular incident of religious turmoil that is representative of all of the communities in Cotenshire in which there are populations of different religions. Richard Whitestone, the author of this newspaper, was very courageous in writing about this incident, because the last publisher who did so had a mob kill his wife and hurl his printing press into the river.
Verdict Concluded in the Case of Murdered Friars
After the long and arduous court hearings, which were presided over by the Honorable Lord Alfons Worell, a most just verdict has been reached.
As you all remember, six weeks ago fourteen Mendicant Friars of St. Francis were chased down the streets and stabbed repeatedly in a most wicked and vyle act by a puritan youth gang. All but three of them perished. Fortunately, the youths were captured by our constables and jailed.
It is abhorrent the amount of controversy that has been drawn out of this event, for there is but one conclusion that a sensible Christian can reach: evil puritan oppression must be stopped.
The minister of the Dumfries Chapter of the Franciscan Friars had this to say to me, I quoteth, he said, “These corrupt puritans, from which new heresies every day do seep, need to realize that they have strayed from the path of the Lord. They must stop oppressing us, who seem to be the only ones that know of Christ’s true message.”
In response to the above statement, a Catholic from Kegness, who wishes his identity to remain anonymous, thus said, “The Friars’ place is to be damned with all the puritans, as the Friars sleep cold in the streets outside of the house of God.”
To which a most unscrupulous puritan, a minister named Andrew Lithell, dastardly replied, “You should not be speaking, you dog, for while the Friars may be sleeping outside of God’s house, your folk sleep in an entirely different house from that of our Lord’s hallow palace.”
The court proceedings were long and difficult, as the three surviving friars were of Magyar origin and did not know a word of English. The court spent the past month searching for a willing translator. As said earlier, a verdict in this case has been declared by the goode judge. The youths are to be suspended outside the olde courthouse in iron cages until death. May God have mercy on their twisted, black souls.
