The Darkness that binds the damned

In the realm of the biomech, pilots and the biomech are one in the same while in battle. A pilot must know his biomech on every aspect to truly know what motivates his biomech. And when a pilot understands this, the biomech and his pilot can achieve great power. With their oneness comes power to command the heavens, but not only must the pilot know his biomech but biomech must know his pilot. When a biomech is young and still developing the biomech must learn what makes the pilot live, what drives him. The biomech must then craft itself and its personality to the pilot. But this is not always to best. For if the pilot if evil the biomech will become corrupted, darkened and cruel. This plus the pilot’s disposition to evil will create a being that thrives on chaos and death, one that feels no regret or remorse. A devil of the heavens, a nemesis of good, and a dark beacon to all that is dark and evil. The biomech and his pilot free to wield the great power it holds, to spread its darkness through out the universe. The power to change the very matter on which it touches. To change entire civilizations into mindless drones that follow the very will of the dark being and his master. The Hobbeebians have fought a silent war against this dark presents, but the threat has grown too large. Planets from the outer rims of the Hobbeebian space have started to show signs of dark biomech cell infection. The Hobbeebian fleets have started to send out distress calls to near by vessels and fleets, as they desperately try to destroy the darkness that threatens to engulf the Imperium. And the light that’s it holds…

From a static filled message sent out to all channels…

“ This is fleet commander …static…. We have taking heavy losses and …static… my government has authorized the use of SOS for any and all passing vessels, private or foreign. If you…static… Please help us”

The small fleet that managed to send the message, lost contact with the Imperial command and was only, and had been fighting off dark bio attacks for days. Many of the ships derelicts in space only able to find the power to fire defensive weapons and maintain life support. The few that remained combat worthy surrounded the drifting ships…hoping that the call made contact

Hobbeebian Imperial Naval Command- Hobbeebian Homeworld....

" Admiral An entire fleet can't vanish, and if they did then you kow what that means." said the Imperial Naval councilman Gordonis as he stood up in the large chamber that housed the Council.

" I understand you frustration councilman Gordonis but we have reason to believe that the entire fleet has been destroyed. and if they haven't then they are lost to the void. It would be foolish to send a search party after them knowing that the Dark one are still there." replied the councilhead Forgrainer.

" They are our people, and it is the least we could do for the families of the service people aborad those vessels!" shouted Gordonis

The council chamber started to vibrate as the other councilmen debated the arguments. the councilhead only rasied his hand to quite them. As the chamber got quite he spoke...

" Gordonis you served in your Empires Navy for a long time.. 30 years I might add. You should know the more then anyone what it means to send a search party for a lost flet in hostile areas."

Gordonis only put his head down and aknowlaged the mention.

" Very well Forgrainer, but if they are still alive then thier blood is on your hands." said Gordonis as he turned and walked away fom the solid light podium.

Outer rims...

The ships of the 435 Explorationary fleet where built for repeated attacks and suffer extreme amounts of damage. But the attafks that plagued the fleet where becoming worse and the ships armor was becoming more and more like tin foil with ever dark matter charge.

the fleets command ship had taking its last charge about the 5th attack. killing all but the head staff. hey managed to ecsacpe with thier life just before the ship imploded. As for now they commanded the fleet from a large frieghter called the Redemtion.

Again and agian they sent out the calls for help.

" This is Fleet commander Thyrdus we are stranded and with out protection, We are sending this SOS to any and all vessels private or forgein...please help us"

The fleet comander knew what the fate of his fleet was to become. He looked at the ship that he now commanded from the systems barely operating. Shielding flickkering on and off. Either the dark being would killing or the cruel void would see them die slowly....

Samael, drenched in the red light of a middle-aged sun, emerged from a portal some ways away. The red gleam made the ship even more imposing than usual, highlighting the viewports and giving them a malevolent red sheen. The ships darksteel hull did not help this impression, although it reflected no light. The hull was segmented, like a cenitpede, and ended in a huge beak of sorts, giving it the look of a huge bird of prey.

Speaker awoke at the incessant prodding of the ships central controller. After a quick systems check, including the message to be transmitted, Speaker turned its massive 'mouth' outward from the divot in the ships carpace where it was installed.
Like most Phyrexian ship systems, it was semi-sentient, it knew its name had had a vocabulary of about a hundred words, all it needed to interact with somebody sending a message.
Now, it spoke, although not with its own voice, but in blasts of radio waves.

This voice, when finally decoded by its counterpart receiver, was cold, flat, and mechanical.

I am Koorg of the Samael. You are the source of the signal of distress?

" This is Fleet Commander Thyrdus, we are indeed the source of the distress call. My fleet belongs to the Majestic Imperium of Hobbeebia, we are an explorationary fleet. We are under siege by unknown forces. We are requesting that teleport coordinates so that we may begin sending our wounded and incapacitated off our inoperable ships and from our last remaining. "

The commander hoped that the ship had not left the call zone. The ships power systems where going critical and was beginning to not operate at all. by this time only the freighter and about 3 sniper ships and a missile command ship where all that remained of the fleet. the rest where destroyed or were self destructed to prevent infection....

The ships were running on basic life support and point defense only by now. There only chance was to hope that the ship that responded would come to its aid.

Hold. I will bring a portal to your ships

Koorg stepped back from the transmitter, "Captain. Take over. I will return shortly." And with that, he was gone.

Two point six seconds later, he re-appeared on the bridge of the Hobbebian ship, holding a large circular device.
"I am Koorg. Take me to the location of your wounded." He said, although, "I am Koorg, destroyer of worlds, surrender your souls to me." might have been more appropriate considering the being that delivered this message in its flat, monotone voice.
Koorg was at least seven feet tall. His form was wrapped in a shimmering cloak that left tiny scratches on the deck plates it passed over, and gave off an aura of sharpness while seeming to be made of cloth. His head and the arm carrying the portal device were the only parts visible, and both were distinctly skeletal in nature. His head was composed of a metal skull, only the top half of which was visible. Blank eye sockets stared out at the crew, betraying no sign of life, save for the voice that had come forth from the cloak.
The army was long, thin and definitly very, very strong. The portal device it held with apparent ease was roughly three feet in diameter, and at least a foot thick. Extensive metalwork had gone into its construction and it looked excessivly heavy.

The Commander was hardly impressed as most of the common people of Hobbeebia looked like that. But he was thankful for the help he was going to receive from him. The Commander welcomed him to his fleet.

" Hello, I am Fleet Commander Thyrdus. Welcome to the 435 Explorationary fleet. I will take you to our wounded. " said Thyrdus as he opened his arms to help guide the helping man along to the medical bay. As they walked signs of internal combat could be seen, but the Commander made no mention of it. Not to keep his newfound friend lost of their true situation but to help him stay out of danger. As they rounded they corner the smell of burnt flesh would hit you like a brick. the screams and cries of the wounded would make even the hardest man cry.

" This is the first of out 15 medical bays. They all look like this. I would have dimed them back to our nearest outpost but our dime gate generator has been damaged and we don't have to personnel to work on it. And if we screwed up and activated it wrong we could have sent this side of the galaxy to another place, and in 40 trillion pieces." commented the Commander as they looked upon the Wounded.

just as they started to leave the area an ensign came running up with a bad look on his face.

" Sir, Dark biomech forces located approx 10 mins out, and our shield have malfunctioned."

The commander turned to the helping hand and apologized for the situation...

Koorg ignored the mans apologies, heading off down the corridor leaving dents in the floor plating as approximatly a ton of force came down with each footstep.
Once in the ward, the Phyrexian extended the portals 'hoop', which gave it a circumfrince of about six feet, enough for most humans to step through easily.
"There will be a short delay while the portal acquires its counterpart. Does your ship require defensive assistance?"

The Commander nodded at the offer of assistance. The Commander turned and ran down the long corridor back to the bridge.

" This is the commander speaking all hand to battle stations, I repeat all Hand so battle stations, enemies are inbound, Attention weapons bay. Activate all sniper cannons ASAP. Prepare to repel boarders" said the Fleet commander as he entered the bridge.

" Commander we have confirmed Dark fleet ships off the starboard side. And below us they trying to herd us." yelled an operator

" All ships return to full combat status prepare to lock on to new tele-signal beam off ASAP leave all ships in fleet in my command through remote control.|"

The confirmation signals from the other ships came through, they had locked on and were awaiting the go signal. Just as they came in a dark charge round exploded off the starboard side making the ship list hard to that side.

" All sniper cannons target engines and weapons arrays, missile pods fire at secondary strategic points! Divert power from engines to the shield!" screamed the commander as he looked through his screen view. As the shields powered up a boarder craft made contact....

" sir Boarders have made contact with sub deck 40 we have reported gunfire and fire systems have started to suffer failure!"

" Reroute missile control to manual and divert the power to blocking that sector off. They can not make contact with wounded!"

The Commander sent a message to the one called Koorg.

" We are running out of time we need those wounded off this ship now or risk mass infection!"

At that very moment, an Asfaltic Submarine-class Cloaked Torpedo-ship (http://www.noir.org/artpacks/1102/thumbs/LeVicieux/Starship.jpg) sent a message:

This is the HMS Terminator.
We have recieved your plea for help and have called for reenforcements. As one single ship, we may not be able to help much, but we will do our utmost to assist you.

And with that, the "Submarine" started to approach the dark fleet. It's cloaking made it completely invisible to the enemy sensors, and it's message was not traceable. It silently crept closer to its prey...

OOC: How many ships does your fleet consist of? How many enemy ships are there? If your captain asks for help, I'd gladly evecuate the wounded via teleportation, easy and simple...;)

The Fleets commander recieved the Torpedo ships answer. He was greatful, since the last bit of help seemed to vanish in to thin air. The wounded had a hard time to endure, about 1/4 of them had been cut off from the group and had been exposed and had to be abandoned. Anyone down their now outside of the containment field was probably converted by now.

" This is fleet commander Thyrdus, we are very happy to hear your voice of support. You can begin to teleport those in the containment field." With that the Fleet commander closed the channel, and braced for a dark matter charge which slammed into the starboard side of the main hull.

The Torpedo-ships Captain nodded content. "Take us near that vessel and teleport their wounded to our sick-bay." he ordered the helmsman. "Hold your fire for the moment." he ordered the weapons officer. "There will be plenty of time for that later on... if we blow our cover, we'll have a tough time assissting those wounded..."
And with that, the ship quickly made a turn, bringing it underneath the Hobbeebian vessel. The wounded were qickly teleported to sick-bay, and the ship swiftly sped off...

OOC: I still need facts about your numbers... how big is your fleet, how many enemy ships are there?

The Commander turned to his crew. Most having bandages on their Bodies and faces. They where exhausted, and beaten. The Commander would not see his fleet killed.

" Helms take us to bearing 333.8767 full power!" screamed the commander as yet another charge detonated, making the ship shutter and shake

The Helms didn't reply only acted, sending the ship in to a dive. The rest of the fleet reacted and followed. Soon what was left of the fleet and closing in on the rescue ships. The Commander tapped his ear and spoke- sending a message to the Dime room.

" This is your Fleet commander. Begin sending wounded to the following location"
The commander typed in the location area and sent it down.

Now he had to only wait to see with the dark one would indeed follow.

The Dark Fleet did indeed follow as more charges exploded around the ship. But these took out what remaining shield power was left. The vacuum of space now at full sucking out atmosphere and people. Power failures began to reach across the ship. Lights and vital systems began to decay and fall out of line.
The ship was dying, and dying fast. the commander has to act quickly.

" All personnel begin heading to your life pods and ready for hard landing on the planet below. I will remain behind to guide them away from you. "

The remaining people on board deed as told and began to leave the ship. Hundreds and little pods left the ships and fell to the planet below as did equipment and vehicles. The Commander then took remote control of the fleet and made a last stand formation... For one final Offensive.

With the fleet in place the Commander took control of all of the active turret systems that remain on the entire fleet. With a single thought the active turrets fired sending thousands of Turbo lasers blasts, thousands of missiles, millions of space modified Projectiles, and Hundreds of Sniper rounds. The munitions hit the fleet with full force making explosions ripple across the void. Ships and vessels of any kind where hit. Hundreds of ships floated ominously without life and action. The Commander had a moment of relief. But even this was to be short lived as the ships that where not utterly destroyed began to reform. Parts and pieces formed together to rebuild the ships that where damaged. The only feelings he could feel where ones of Dread and terror and the enemy ships fired upon his vessel, turning it into vapor. The explosion was so large it could be seen for a million miles. The shockwave even rocked the planet that the survivors landed on.

On the planet the survivors had begun to explore and regroup. For once the pods auto-locate and land systems worked. It was no time before they met up and begun to build shelters and bunkers. thanks to the supplies sent with them this was a simple task. Within a day a small city was built out of Prefab housing units. But the threat was still looming above them. Waiting... seething.
